Michele Bachmann compares herself to Margaret Thatcher, forgetting that "The Iron Lady" actually won HER elections.

Yeah I don't think that this is a comparison that is going to fly with most people.

After all Bachmann is currently polling in last place and just had her state co-chair in Iowa jump ship. And then she lied about why he did it:

“Kent Sorensonpersonally told me he was offered a large sum of money to go to work for the Paul campaign. Kent campaigned with us earlier this afternoon and went immediately afterward to a Ron Paul event and announced he is changing teams. Kent said to me yesterday that ‘everyone sells out in Iowa, why shouldn’t I,’ then he told me he would stay with our campaign. The Ron Paul campaign has to answer for its actions,” Bachmann said in a statement.

Sorenson denied receiving any money following the announcement at a Paul rally in Des Moines. Sorensen said the race in Iowa has come down to a two man contest between Paul and former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney, and he didn’t want Romney to win.

“The fact is there is a clear top tier in the race for the Republican nomination for president, both here in Iowa and nationally. Ron Paul is easily the most conservative of this group,” Sorenson said in a statement. “The truth is it was an excruciatingly difficult decision for me to decide between supporting Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul at the beginning of this campaign.”

Somehow this makes her look more like a rusty old has been, more than an "Iron Lady."

One cannot help remembering that a certain other female political has been once compared herself to Thatcher, and in fact threatened to attempt a meeting with her in England.

How did that turn out again?

Oh yeah:

"Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts."

Yes who could forget that? And, who would want to?

Aren't there any OTHER famous female historic figures these losers can compare themselves to?

You know ones that are more fitting? Like, I don't know Imelda Marcos? Or Elizabeth Bathory? Eva Braun perhaps?

I'm just saying.

If Bachmann only knew how Europeans are appalled by the idiocy and theocratic quackery that goes on in our backward country.

There's nothing exceptional about our "real" American hillbillies!

I'm no Thatcher fan, but you have to give her credit as being extremely tough and smart. I guess with her presently unable to slap these pathetic excuses for female leaders into reality, Palin and Bachmann are free to use her name however they want.

7:21 am. With your guns you are on your way to creating a fascist state. There is no way that providing universal health care equates "a permanent welfare state." In your ignorance you are aiding and abetting the far right in this country that would lead us down the path of 1920's and 1930's Germany.

Wow, now we have the Bachman trolls. Being from MN I can assure you they are just as scary as Sara's flying monkey's and if you notice they actually make threatening comments. There are people in MN who bypass the 6th District when they drive because you never know what kind of day they are having up there and they do carry weapons and use them indiscriminately on each other - the rest of us are just collateral damage. Bad water in Stearns county - and inbreeding too many years.

    In today's Washington, Thatcher would surely be the target of neocon venom;

"Despite her support for Israel, and though she rejected the stridently pro-PLO stance of some members of her government, she believed Israel needed to trade land for peace, wishing in her memoirs that the “Israeli emphasis on the human rights of the Russian refuseniks was matched by proper appreciation of the plight of the landless and stateless Palestinians.” She also condemned Israel’s bombing of Osirak, Saddam Hussein’s nuclear reactor, in 1981. “[The Osirak attack] represents a grave breach of international law,” she said in an interview with London’s Jewish Chronicle in 1981. Israel’s bombing of another country could lead to “international anarchy.”

When you don't have a real clue I guess all a person can do is use the zeal of her followers and her own bloated ego to "soldier on" as if it matters to the bigger scheme of things. It's a form of obsession, a mania that's propped on willful denial of the facts. I'd feel sorry for her if she was worthy of my pity, but she's not. She has such utter disdain for intelligence, fairness and the art of true compromise that the best I can do is pity her remaining staff.

This has actually been a terrible stain on this nation that she has managed to make it this far.

She was doomed from the beginning. Her supporters only the most despicable, closed minded homophobes an uneducated heads in the sand conservatives.

She didn't even have a comprehendable message. Nearly everything she said was in error or an outright lie.

This week RP has been in the dog house for paling around with a man of the cloth that called for the death of gays. Yet, Bachmann has been doing the same thing. Taking support from even more terrible groups.

It's time for America to reject this kind of behavior and beliefs and stand up to people like Bachmann. They don't deserve respect and they sure as heck don't deserve to be elected to office.

Palin 2.0 was never designed to leave the confines of her district, let alone be on the national stage. She bought and passed out most of the 4,000 tickets this summer that mainly went to people looking for a tent with air-conditioning and deep-fried butter. Nothing more.

Poor P-Rick, he's done gone and embarrassed Texas in a big way...

It’s been a long 12 months for Rick Perry. The Texas governor started 2011 in triumph, at the peak of his political power, with a high gloss on his boots and a national audience of conservatives eager for just the tale he was telling.

He ends the year treading water. His boots — “Freedom” and “Liberty” — might as well be named “Oops” and “Dang.” Even if he pulls out of this, it’s been embarrassing for him and for his home state.

He took the family name out into the world and made a hash of it.

  24. What scares me about this woman, along with the rest of the GOP contenders, is that they all have the same agenda. It is the one that the Bush Administration put in place and sent the economy crashing down around us.

Think about it. I'm surprised that this is not being brought up more often. I haven't been able to find anything that they are saying that they would do differently. In fact, they seem to be fixated on doubling down on it. Their plan has already been proven not to work, but it's as if the nation and the media have just agreed not to bring that up. I can see why Fox News and Republicans don't want to mention it, but why aren't Democrats and reliable news media screaming about it?!!!

What a joke this all has been.

What a group of almost cartoon-like crappy self serving people who have milked the system for every benefit to themselves.

Palin. an international nitemare. God has forsaken her. Time for the plug to be pulled on that one.

Cain. a horny joke, who couldn't believe his luck till it all ran out.

Perry. a embarassing and very stupid Texan with a giant ego spending money on himself while preaching economy for everyone else.

    And the last three standing.

    Romney, Paul, and Gingrich. Disgusting.

This morning NPR played her claiming Ronald Reagan was a conservative. I don't think she knows what that word means.

It also doesn't say much for her that she lost not just one major player in her campaign crew yesterday, but two. Enos is apparently not working for any other campaign, and he didn't get paid to leave, either.

Can you picture Thatcher as subservient to men? I can't. That Bachmann is and thinks it's a good thing makes her completely unfit for the Presidency.

The sad thing is that aside from Mittens not one of them will win the nomination. They'd be better suited finding someone who at least speaks to the moderate right, take your beating and focus in the House and Senate. People are fed up with Boner and his ilk. But they take their marching orders from the Koch's and Fox and the Koch's are fascists and Fox will promote anyone who can get views and clicks. They don't give a rat's ass about this country, it's all about money, power and ratings.

She's seriously dillusional for not quitting sooner. She's toast and dosen't know it yet, just like Dirty Wig.

I'm surprised she didn't make up a more involved lie than money. Face it, Shele, your ship has sunk, and just like Marcus, your staff isn't going down with it.

Please. Margaret Thatcher did immense damage to the UK. I despise her infinitely more than I despise Sarah Palin who is a national joke nobody has to pretend to respect just because she lost her marbles since she never had any to begin with. Compared to the massive destructive bitch that was Thatcher, Palin is but a short-lived flea.

Typical Wingnut response to moments of lucidity from a supporter's fall-out - say hideous, horrible things with as little diplomacy as possible against them.

To say the guy sold-out like any other Iowan - she's insulting every Iowan booster.

I know she's sore, but what a bitch.

LL Cool J was not a supporter of Palin, but he had no public opinion of her, until FOX tried to fit an old interview of him in on a hatchet job for a failed Palin Heartland Show. He tweeted a rightful question of placing his interview and Sarah and Fox snarked on his career.

He's got a paying gig on Law & Order L.A. Sarah, and a new album out. How are you doing?
