Fox News is now waging war on the essay. I'm not surprised. Megyn Kelly has declared that I am "not a real journalist." She has also just said that I have written that Trig is not Sarah Palin's child. As longtime readers well know, I took great pains never to state that and merely to ask Palin, given her insane story about the birth of her child, to provide some evidence for it, which she said she would but never did. The Beast has asked for a correction. Real journalists do not tell untruths on air without correcting them.
What I want to know is why they cannot invite the author of an essay to debate it, rather than two random individuals (including Rich "Starbursts" Lowry) to discuss. Surely that's only fair - unless, of course, I am on a blacklist.
So this is an open challenge to Fox News.
If you want to trash my work, have me on to defend it. Any time, Megyn. Any time. What are you afraid of?
I would be very surprised if they had him on, especially since he can easily out talk them, and also reopen that Sarah Palin's birth story in a way that might be too much for the viewers of Fox News to handle.
I am a little surprised that Fox was willing to use Palin's impulsive response to Sullivan as their jumping off point, since it means that many people will start Googling "Sarah Palin's pregnancy" and that will lead them to all kinds of places that Fox may not want to to go. Including here of course.
So personally I would like ot thank Fox News for the increase in traffic.

Sullivan states in his blog today that Megyn's producer has contacted him regarding an appearance. Perhaps Fox can fire up the Wasilla camera and Palin and Andrew can directly discuss the matter. And she can proudly show him the birth certificate as any wronged mother would gladly do.

Fox will never allow a debate on a subject that might prove them wrong to their viewers, although their viewers wouldn't listen and believe anything they heard unless it came from Megyn Kelly. They would just shut out what they heard from Sullivan. I admire him for challenging Megyn Kelly to a debate, but I also wouldn't claim she'll be easy. She is a lawyer and has been trained to think on your feet and to be prepared for a challenging debate. Both will have problems proving their stance, and a debate will come more down mostly to Sullivan's character, which would give Megyn the advantage. Her only means of attack will be innuendoes and insinuations on what Sullivan has written in the past, which doesn't sound as if he has actually accused Palin of anything, just questioned her pregnancy from her description of her trip home. BTW, Palin once said she would release her medical records which she did not provide which makes me question if she is not trying to hide a mental condition.

When a Fox anchor mentions the same line of attack, I can't help but wonder if some collusion is afoot.
I guess my one piece of advice to Ms. Palin is that if you are planning to release evidence of some sort, it better be real.
Your instincts in not doing so to date (whether it be because there was none, or you just didn't feel like doing it) have been good, and have served your purpose.
If you are planning to release something and what you plan to release can be discredited, you will be finished as a celebrity in addition to being a politician.
How about adding housegate to the list? How many properties did her PAC buy in the last year???? And a sprinkling of hookergate would really spice things up. FOX, the list of juicy stories to investigate could fill your whole year left on Sarah's contract. Why not fill it with some interesting interviews with her instead of hearing for the umpteenth time how the president wasn't vetted? That''s so 2008!

Megyn at Fox sounds like she's on testosterone all the time. She's just chomping at the bit, her face is like iron and she's so verbally aggressive. I think Sarah Palin is trying to come up with a new, spectacular distraction to wean Fox and Andrew Sullivan from a frank and open discussion of whether Sarah Palin's insane birth story warrants investigation.

Given Sarah Palin's love of bus tours, a tour of the Super Tuesday states might be a good distraction. Or some paparazzi photos of Palin wearing items with various words blacked out with a sharpie. Another faked marathon run, Palin using the new hand-held auger, a trip to suffering humanity in a disaster zone are all tried and true distractions.
But I'm thinking really spectacular distraction, like a forged birth certificate and a full-blown media press conference with good doctor that "delivered" Trig.
But, sadly, probably the best Sarah Palin can come with is a tragic family illness to drown that stupid tweet in a flurry of sympathy for the queen of victim-hood, Sarah Palin.

He went thru an entire Democratic primary process against Hillary Clinton. Much like the GOP primary - any candidate not worth their salt would have withered after 2 weeks in the harsh media spotlight. Palin was introduced in August/September of 2008 - that was TWO MONTHS before the election! Before that, no one knew who the hell she was (outside of GOP insiders). Also....I wonder if Palin realises that when people hear her say stuff like this, they think of HER in 2008 as the candidate that was NOT vetted at all??? When did Palin hold an open press conference in 2008? Not once. The next interview she did was with McCain and she was tight-lipped fist clenched the entire time. Seriously, this woman's mental illness is truly staggering. I don't know what Sarah hoped to gain by calling Sullivan names, let alone calling attention to the story of "who gave birth to Trig." Some stories and some people must really get under her skin so that instead of keeping quiet and letting things blow over, Sarah just has to respond.

Is Sarah's juvenile name calling a distraction from the revelations that the Palins own as many as ten houses and pieces of real estate worth millions of dollars? How in the world does a young girl with no talent and no job afford two pieces of lake property, let along another house in Arizona?
Does Sarah need to keep playing the victim to encourage donations to her PAC? She needs to tease people into thinking that she still might run in order to keep that cash stream coming in. Maybe the distraction is that she is required to make a public accounting of her PAC, including all of those LLC expenditures to shell companies. Is Sarah another Romney, secreting money off shore so no one know that she is rich while she pretends to be "just folks?"
Fox may have revived that Trig Truther nonsense in order to boost sagging ratings. They have become the PR agency for the Republican party, and as they have become more and more extreme, they must be losing any reasonable, moderate thinking Republicans, if there are any left. I bet that Sarah's ratings are dropping, too. She looks as if she is getting more and more desperate.

FOX's main interest is making money. They have no loyalties. Right now they are losing viewers. If they can get viewers by changing things up they will. The later scenario would only occur if Rupert Murdoch really is fed up with Sarah and is willing to throw her under the bus in a back-handed fashion to get some ratings out of her before her contract is up.
Murdock is aware that she faked Trig's pregnancy. Remember, Fox News bought the copy rights to Ellen Frank's documentary that shows Sarah wearing the square shaped pillow under her shirt. After they obtained the rights, they chose not to show it.
I don't remember the exact date, but Andrew has the picture of Sarah taken at the library at the end of March 2008 where she signed a bill. The picture shows her with a completely flat abdomen. The documentary that Fox News has was taken 13 days after that picture.
It will be interesting to see which way this goes.

Personally I think Wasilla teenagers should pay a visit to Bristol's new Lake Lucille house like Willow and the Colony girls visited the vacant houses in Alaska.
Why not? Bristol was a party animal in her high school days and now has a pad to throw her own all night keggers!

What I noticed on the cover of Newsweek, was an article about Rick Santorum's wife. That is one juicy story. Bet she practiced birth control when she lived with an abortion provider years before she met Rick. It was only after she married Rick that they both became über Catholics.

The State Department is expected to vote against the pipeline this afternoon. Transcanada will however be allowed to reapply with an alternate route going through Nebraska.

I wish Andrew would start naming names, circumstances and places. He needs to say point blank that Cathy Baldwin Johnson was a family practice physician and there is NO WAY IN HELL she induced a high risk pregnancy into labor at MatSu. There is no way in hell MatSu would allow a high profile, high risk pregnant woman to give birth prematurely to a DS infant in a hospital without a neonatologist or a NICU.

The Palins feel the way they determine when they are ready for marriage is the month (at the most) after they have missed their first period.
That's God's signal its time to get married.
Palin has been dropping lower and lower on the prestige scale for her Fox appearances. Her latest interviews have been with that judge woman whom I had never even heard of.

I think Fox has had it with Sarah and they are throwing her under the bus. If they make a big stink about babygate and of course Palin can't come up with any evidence that she gave birth, their ratings will go up and Palin will be completely finished.
You have to wonder - has she finally found someone to produce a fraudulent BC and she is trying to find a way to get it out there to shut this down? If she produces a BC, I hope someone challenges it...

I love Andrew Sullivan! The man is an absolute GENIUS. He writes a story that doesn't mention Sarah Palin at all, but is focused on President Obama (very well done, btw) and he uses his power of "reverse reverse reverse psychology", knowing Sarah couldn't DARE resist stepping in the limelight and sucking some of his oxygen, She impulively grits her teeth, fires up the twitter box, and nails Sullivan to the cross, blaming his "trig truther" (which he isn't technically) stance for the slings and arrows of outrageous truths she's had to deal with all this time.
