In his third year in office President Obama created one million MORE jobs than George W. Bush did in HIS third year in office. How's THAT for job creation?

Courtesy of Politicususa:

There is a reason why the Republicans only bring up Reagan, and not either of the Bush Presidents. They were complete failures. The Republicans have controlled the White House for twenty years out of thirty two years and the only success they had in regards to the economy or success in general is from 1980-88 and even that is debatable. In the third year of Bush’s first term (2003) the economy created four hundred thousand (400,000) private sector jobs. In contrast, President Obama in the third year of his first term created almost one and a half MILLION (1,400,000) jobs. Obama created ONE MILLION more private sector jobs than President George W. Bush.

If anybody needs a preview of what the country would be like if we were to elect one of these GOP morons instead of reelecting Obama, all they have to do is remember what the economy was like under Bush. None of these guys, despite their rhetoric have any better idea of how to run this country then Dubya did. And that's a fact!

And don't bother bringing up Romney's supposed history of job creation, only the MOST ignorant people in the country buy that load of hooey.

    But, but, but...
that's not what Sarah Palin said!

Do you mean to tell us that Sarah Palin either lied or had no idea what she was talking about?

    No way!
/sarcasm, because we all know that whatever comes out of Sarah Palin's mouth is either a lie or evidence that she doesn't know what she's talking about.

If the GOP learned from and recognized the last 8 Bush years then they could not scapegoat Obama for the state of the economy.

What did the Bush administration do to curtail manufacturing taken over seas?

  4. If only I weren't so cynical, but I know these facts will never enter the hermetic bubble the GOP bots llive in.

But, the fighting going on inside, even for short periods -- I see Newt is now distancing himself from the 28-min. documentary -- is a start, isn't it?

Selective amnesia regarding Bush & dismissal of facts like this one is the only way the rightwingers can keep their heads from exploding given the reversals they have had to make first FOR then AGAINST an issue. The only overriding constant for them is their white-hot hatred of that n***r in the White House.

  5. I've heard Romney say over and over that "Obama has not created ONE job!"

Who calls him on this? The MSM IS lame.

Watching MSNBC helps. And reading your posts -- this makes my day. :)

  6. Mitt has no measurable history of creating jobs, cutting taxes, or much of anything else except making money for private investors.

Mitt does have a measurable history of lying and exaggerating the truth:

President Obama will slice and dice him if he is in fact the nominee.

So WHY won't the media ask the GOP candidates how their ideas are different from President Bush's?

    O/T HBO's Game Change airing March 10

At several points in HBO’s new movie “Game Change,” Julianne Moore’s Sarah Palin gets a look in her eye that you see in horror flicks just before the adorable 12-year-old chops her whole family into bite-size pieces.

Maybe in this case it’s not quite that homicidal. But it very clearly says that what Lola wants, Lola gets.

Don't confuse the gooptardians with facts, their minds are already made up. There's no way President Obama could have done better than the shrub. He's "different skin."

    Thanks for the post, Gryphen.

And that's despite the fact that some of the largest economies in the world are in the tank!!! Yesterday France was downgraded and that's going to screw our recovery even more. But we ARE practically recovered -- it's the news media and Republicans are too stupid to notice.

The GOP has started to eat their own, let's learn from them and not make the same mistakes.

Barbara Carlson is right: Mittens can get away with saying ANYTHNG. The MSM is not challenging ANYTHING he says. Even his record at Bain -- all they're doing is repeating what the GOP opponents say, but they do it with a wink and a nod. GAH! It's so frustrating!

I do research in construction. That's my job. I read about construction allllll day and I can tell you, without a doubt, that we are head and shoulders -- and another head and shoulders -- above where we were in 2009. In 2009, only fast food, dollar stores, the government and hospitals were building. Now? Apartments are in the works all over the place. Hotels are being built (even though there was a lot of hotel construction before the recession). Companies are expanding. Manufacturers are expanding! I'm not saying this is because of Obama -- personally, I think the president has -- for good or bad -- little to do with the economy, and all this is just nuttiness because there's nothing else to attack Obama on, without being racist (and again the MSM is falling for it and letting Republicans get away with it) *** -- but the recession, most definitely, is over. People are still using it as a crutch, though. But the economy is doing good.

***The exception to my rule about presidents and the economy is the most recent recession which is clearly the fault of George W. Bush who bragged about making more loans -- i.e. sub-prime mortgages -- available to minorities. It was the one domestic achievement he touted aside from No Child Left Behind. But also Ronald Regan which sounds crazy until you notice that from 1941 to 1980, our economy had regular, healthy cycles...after 1980, violent lurches in the stock market began to happen...and, gee, what happened in 1980??? Hmmm? Me forgets???

  15. Reagan was awful too. During his years, the student college grant program took a nose dive.

I graduated from college in 1986, luckily with minor debt, and while I thought Reagan gave good speeches, I recognized at the time that they were a play on people's emotions, and I disagreed with his stance on just about everything.

Imagine how I felt about Bush I. I "knew" Desert Storm was all about oil.

Imagine how I could come to believe that Bush II didn't really win the election in 2000.

Imagine how I could come to believe that the evil Bush/Cheney caused 9/11 to occur in order to secure our oil future.

Imagine how I could come to believe that Bush II didn't really win the election in 2004 either.

Imagine my surprise when they let Obama actually get elected...why? Why didn't they steal the election again? To allow themselves four years to tear him down? We'll see about that.

    Obama 2012!!

I'm with what Barbara and Molly so eloquently stated.

What bothers me most is how most of the media ignores the facts, and that President Obama and the Democratic Party hasn't been vocal about his accomplishments. We need to ensure we get out the vote AND a good chunk of the independent voters next election.

I thought it would serve the Republicans better if they simply ignored and denied any improvement in the economy.

I also wondered how they would spin it, if there was some improvement that could not be ignored.

Then I heard Romney admitting that while there indeed is some improvement, its IN SPITE of the President, not because of him.

That anyone is dumb enough to swallow that line, is pathetic...but I'm certain it will be repeated over and over, like all the previous lies, until it is accepted as gospel.

Repeating lies & nonsense over and over to dumb/scared people is how the "gospel" got its grip. As a brainwashing device, religion is as old as the human race. To question it, in many societies & countries, is death &/or treason.

When politics & religion merge, know fear. And that's when most people shut up. It many ways, it has come to that. E.g., MSM.

    Ron Paul is very brave.

Actually during the Bush years if you were a defense contractor you made loads of money! And the military expanded incredibly as did Homeland Security or TSA. The only problem I see is Bush could hardly call this private sector job creation as it was entirely funded by taxpayer money. I call it GOP welfare for the defense industry and the military. I just cringe when I hear Republicans go on about defense. Basically, this is code for "don’t cut back on war spending in my district."

The comparison is a straw man argument. Bush didn't need to create 350,000 jobs a month to pull out of a recession. Never mind real unemployment is still hovering around 16%. The pace we need is 1.4 million jobs every four months not each year. Let's also remember be promised unemployment would go above 8%. Yeah, promises broken for three years...
