Donald Trump is now creating a conspiracy to redirect attention away from his administration and back toward Hillary Clinton.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

When asked about Flynn, Trump said, “I feel badly for General Flynn. I feel very badly. He’s led a very strong life, and I feel very badly…I will say this, Hillary Clinton lied many times to the FBI. Nothing happened to her. Flynn lied, and they destroyed his life. I think it’s a shame. Hillary Clinton went to the FBI on the 4th of July weekend, not under oath, it was the most incredible thing that anyone’s ever seen. She lied many times. Nothing happened to her. Flynn lied, and it’s like, they ruined his life. It’s very unfair.”

That’s not how any of this works. Lying to the FBI is a crime. Period. Hillary Clinton never lied to the FBI, or she would have been charged with a crime. Trump is inventing a conspiracy that the FBI is pro-Hillary Clinton and out to get him.

Trump’s answer was crazy on so many levels, and his reflexive answer when he gets into any trouble at all is to retreat to Hillary Clinton happy place where he can either blame Clinton or accuse the world of being a Hillary Clinton conspiracy against him.

I imagine that right about now the stench of desperation must be all but overwhelming around Trump and his cohorts.

It seems like every day the Russian investigations keep picking up steam as they bear down on Trump and his administration.

It might be time to put the entire White House on suicide watch.

Chuck Schumer brags to Mitch McConnell about his cozy new relationship with Donald Trump.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Schumer was overheard telling someone, “He likes us. He likes me anyway….Here’s what I told him, I said, ‘Mr. President, you’re much better off if you can sometimes step right and sometimes step left. If you have to step in just one direction, you’re boxed.’ He gets that.”

Now what makes this conversation even more interesting is who Schumer was talking to about this.
Of course what makes this so interesting, is that Trump REALLY does not seem to like Mitch McConnell and has even attacked him on Twitter for being ineffective at his job.

And this is after news comes out that Trump made at least a verbal deal with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to protect the Dreamers and keep DACA in place.

Now I would assume that Trump thinks he is playing the two Democrats and that ultimately he will use them to get what he wants passed in the Senate, but both Pelosi and Schumer are long time political warriors who have pretty much seen it all.

If anybody is about to get played it is Cheeto Hitler.

I think Donald Trump broke another White House spokesperson. Update!

Okay maybe I am just not up on all of the hip jargon, but this appears to be gibberish.

Or...perhaps it is how folks from the White House secretly communicate with their Russian overlords.

I imagine it will be deleted soon so here is a screen shot courtesy of the folks over at Politicususa.

Update: Sanders has an excuse.
Well in the future she should keep her phone someplace where Trump cannot get his tiny toddler sized hands on it.

P.S. I still think it might be a secret communication with Russia.

Three days into his trip abroad Donald Trump is reportedly "exhausted."

Courtesy of the Washington Examiner:

A White House official told reporters that President Trump is "exhausted" just three days into his first trip abroad as president.

Trump was expected to say "Islamist extremism" during his speech to Muslim leaders in Saudi Arabia, but instead said "Islamic extremism."

When asked why Trump deviated from the prepared text of his speech, an administration official said Trump is "just an exhausted guy."

After the speech, Trump reportedly canceled his appearance at the Tweeps Forum. Ivanka Trump filled in for her father, speaking to about 400 people at the event.

Gee, only three days into his trip and already Trump is sucking wind and making mistakes?

Kind of surprising considering the fact that his doctor made the following claim:

"If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency."

Interesting.

Also interesting is that Politicususa reminds us that there was a certain political opponent of Trump's who demonstrated substantially more stamina:

Hillary Clinton who refused to telecommute and visited 112 countries as Sec. of State. Hillary Clinton spent 401 days traveling which equals 1.099 years.

Trump couldn’t last two full days.

Well of course the Russians would not want the most vibrant and capable candidate to win the White House. So they chose the walking orange heart attack.

Yes this absolutely needs to happen.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Along with the recount, the American people deserve the details about Russia’s meddling in the presidential election. Once Trump takes office, those details will never be released, so it is up to President Obama to make the information public so that the American people can decide for themselves if the election was tampered with, and what if any role potential interference from Russia played in the presidential election.

It is easy to understand the President’s desire for a smooth transition of power, but there are many unanswered questions that have cast a shadow over our the safety and security of our electoral system. As President, Obama owes it to the American people to ease their concerns. The best way to help people understand what happened, and prevent it from happening again, is to make the information available to the public.

The request from the Senate Democrats is also important because it hints that a Democratic investigation is coming into the role that Russia played in helping Trump win the election. Democrats don’t have to be in the majority to conduct their own investigations, and the desire for more info from Intelligence Committee Democrats suggests that questions about the Trump/Russia connection aren’t going away anytime soon.

I personally do not see this as a partisan issue, but more of a national security issue.

If Russia can successful change the outcome of an election, then what are they capable of next?

I can guarantee you that if the shoe were on the other foot, and Russia had helped to get Hillary elected, the Republicans would be setting things on fire in the streets and investigation EVERYBODY evenly remotely associated with the election.

Donald Trump Jr. compares the media to the Nazis during the Holocaust. Gee, how reasonable of him.

Courtesy of CBS News:

Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday suggested the media has helped Hillary Clinton by letting her “slide” on “every lie” and said that if Republicans did the same, the media would be “warming up the gas chamber” for them.

“The media has been her number one surrogate in this,” he said in an interview on 1210 WPHT radio in Philadelphia with host Chris Stigall. “Without the media, this wouldn’t even be a contest, but the media has built her up. They’ve let her slide on every in-discrepancy, on every lie, on every DNC game trying to get Bernie Sanders out of this thing. If Republicans were doing that, they’d be warming up the gas chamber right now.”

This is actually blowing up all over social media right now, but I really don't understand why.

After all what do we expect from a guy raised by a man who sleeps with a copy of Adolph Hitler's speeches by his bed?

And by the way the accusation that the media has let Clinton "slide" or has "built her up" is laugh out loud funny.

In truth it is the Doanld who has benefited the most from favorable media coverage, and Hillary who has been subjected to the Spanish Inquisition over every perceived misstep.

Hey, there are even facts to back that up.

There I go again, using facts.

When will I ever learn that nobody cares about those anymore?

Elizabeth Warren to Donald Trump: "Are you scared Donald? Well you should be. We're coming."

Courtesy of Politicususa:

While speaking at the New Hampshire Democratic Convention, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) unloaded on Donald Trump and in the process demonstrated why she may be the best choice for Hillary Clinton’s VP. Warren said, “You’ve heard of Donald Trump. Every day we learn more about him, and every day it becomes clearer that he is just a small, insecure money grubber who doesn’t care about anyone or anything that doesn’t have the Trump name splashed all over it.

Every day it becomes clearer that he is a thin skinned racist bully, and every day it becomes clearer that he will never become President Of The United States.

The above is only a portion of the devastating remarks Warren made about Trump so you should watch the entire 20 plus minutes.

Simply put she eviscerated him, and it was awesome!

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY. kicks Trump's ass as effectively as Elizabeth Warren, and that is part of the reason we need her on the Democratic ticket.

On Friday night's Real Time Bill Maher calls out Republicans over their terrible choice in heroes.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Maher asked Republicans, “If these better than the rest of us real Americans really do exist, how come when they find one, they turn out to be a creep? Either you’re a terrible judge of character, or there’s nobody home at the good people house.”

The Real Time host ran down the list. Kim Davis turns out to be everything Republicans hate. Cliven Bundy is a racist. George Zimmerman is an angry racist who keeps getting in trouble with the police. Joe The Plumber was a totally fabricated lie.

Of course Maher saved his most scathing remarks for sister molester and Ashley Madison customer Josh Duggar:

"Josh traded on his family’s image to work as a lobbyist for the ultra-conservative Family Research Council, and all of the Republican presidential candidates wanted a picture with him. Until it turned out, he had two Ashley Madison accounts, had paid for rough sex with porn stars and had molested his sisters."

Of course to that list we could also add the tragically stupid Sarah Palin, the Blinded by the Bible Ben Carson, and of course the incredibly ego-maniacal Donald Trump.

In fact one would be hard pressed to think of a single conservative icon who was not completely phony, as well as a tragically flawed human being.

Yes and to that list I would also add Republican hero Ronald Reagan. Who not only raised taxes, and granted amnesty to millions of undocumented immigrants, but also resided over one of the most corrupt administrations in recent memory.

President Obama demonstrates that Republicans are becoming a punchline even outside of America.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Part of what makes this a special evening for me is the presence of my family members who are here. My grandmother, Mama Sarah, who told me I had to come back to Kenya. And when she says you should do something, generally you have to do it. I’ve told this story before — the first time that I visited Kogelo, Auma and I and my brothers were there. Mama Sarah speaks Swahili and Luo, and I speak neither –and so Auma was serving as a translator. And I think about a half a day had passed before suddenly she turns to Auma and says something. And Auma starts laughing, and I say, what did she say? She says, he goes to Harvard; if he’s so smart, how come he can’t talk to his grandmother? Which was a good point.

My siblings are here, aunts, uncles. And so, tonight, I welcome all of them to a somewhat unusual Obama family reunion. I suspect that some of my critics back home are suggesting that I’m back here to look for my birth certificate. That is not the case.

Did you hear that laughter in response to that joke?

If your claim that President Obama was born in Kenya, is even uproariously funny to Kenyans, I think that is all you have to know about its validity.

And somewhat (But not really.) off topic, is Donald Trump still leading in the polls for the Republican nomination?

Fox News is whining because after years of unprecedented attacks against President Obama he is freezing them out. Bummer.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

After years of putting up with their attacks, President Obama is getting his revenge on Fox News by freezing them out of access and denying them exclusive interviews.

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace went into full whine mode because the Obama White House refuses to send guests on to his show, “We wanted to ask Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson about the terror threat while the White House put him on another Sunday show. They declined to make him available to Fox viewers. The White House has made a number of guests available to other networks this year while excluding us and you. We did get to interview Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and DHS Secretary Johnson once this year, but only when they appeared on all five networks.”

What a pansy ass.

This is like complaining that the wife you abuse on a regular basis does not seem to love you anymore.

Actually considering the horrible treatment this President has endured at the hands of Fox News they're lucky he doesn't call in a drone strike against them.

I'm joking of course. But just barely.

President Obama's approval ratings going up right along with confidence in the economy.

A comparison of past President's approval rating during their seventh year in office.
Courtesy of CNN:

President Barack Obama's approval rating is shifting back toward positive territory, as the public's take on the economy hits a new high mark for Obama's tenure, according to a new CNN/ORC poll

For the first time since May of 2013, more Americans polled say they have a positive impression of how Obama is handling the presidency than a negative one: 48% approve of the way Obama is handling his job, while 47% disapprove.

While the share saying they approve is not significantly larger than the share disapproving, it's a notable shift in perceptions of Obama's presidency.

Obama's numbers are on the rise at the same time the public gives the economy the highest ratings of his presidency.

The poll finds 52% describe the U.S. economy as very or somewhat good, while 48% call it very or somewhat poor. That marks the first time since Obama took office that significantly more people describe the economy as "good" than "poor," and only the second time since then that a majority has described the nation's economy as "good."

The last time significantly more Americans called the economy "good" than "poor" in CNN/ORC polling was September 2007.

You know considering how the Right Wing goes after the President on a constant basis, it is almost a miracle that his numbers are even this high. And those numbers for the economy are nothing short of miraculous, considering where we were when Obama took office.

Speaking of the Right Wing how are the Republicans faring in the polls?

You know at this rate President Obama might crack 50 or even 60% approval before he leaves office, while Congressional Republicans look like they are headed toward negative numbers.

Chuck Todd admits that he does not ask tough questions because if he did he would no longer be able to book certain guests.

Click sell out in order to play video
Courtesy of Politicususa:

During a roundtable discussion with several comedians Meet The Press’s Chuck Todd made excuses for why he lets Republicans get away with saying things that aren’t true. Lewis Black asked Todd how he put up with guests who babble on with their talking points without barking at them, and Todd’s answer revealed why people don’t trust the media.

The Meet The Press host said, “We all sit there, because we all know, the first time we bark is the last time that they do the show. You say something, and sometimes it is last time they will ever come on your show. There is that balance.”

To be fair Todd does not identify Republicans as the people he is unable to "bark" at but it is quite obvious.

Especially since comedian W. Kamau Bell follows that up by saying this:

"Comedy gets to bark. But the weird thing is that Fox News also gets to bark. And I think sometimes the Left, you know the left leaning media, is afraid of barking."

That is so well put, and so absolutely true.

So in other words Fox News gets to tear into politicians (I think all of us remember how disrespectful Bill O'Reilly and Bret Baier were to President Obama when he subjected himself to Fox News interviews.), while more mainstream media types tiptoe around conservative politicians as if they are afraid that they won't like them on Facebook after the show if they dare to ask them a tough question.

And that's why once great shows like MTP are a joke these days. Because they are filled with bullshit softball questions that never challenge the conservative interviewee in any way.

President Obama wants to keep yet another campaign promise. Shutting down Gitmo.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

I am going to be doing everything I can to close it. It is something that inspires jihadists and extremists around the world. It is contrary to our values, and it is wildly expensive. We’re spending millions for each individual there, and we have drawn down the population there significantly. There are a little less than 150 individuals left in this facility. We are continue to place those who have been cleared for release or transfer to host countries who are willing to take them. There’s going to be a certain irreducible number that are going to be really hard cases. We know they’ve done something wrong and they are still dangerous but it’s difficult to mount the evidence in a traditional Article three court so we’re going to have to wrestle with that, but we need to close that facility and I’m going to do everything I can to do that.

Politicususa goes on to affirm that the President is quite correct about the expense, and points out that while it only costs taxpayers about $78,000 a year per inmate in the most expensive supermax prison in the country it costs a whopping 2.8 million per prisoner in Gitmo.

You know if the President is able to find some way to close Guantnamo Bay it will make some of his other accomplishments pale in comparison, and DEFINITELY put a shine on his legacy.

Hmm, I wonder if renewing diplomatic ties with Cuba is part of his plan for putting pressure on the Republicans concerning Gitmo?

Is he really that many moves ahead of the GOP?

Apparently if Sarah Palin HAD been elected Vice President, she would not have been able to find the White House. Update!

The above of course is from Palin's speech at the Values Voters Summit today.

The transcript is courtesy of our friends over at Politicususa:

The lies that they tell about you. Calling you the intolerant ones, the haters, the bigots. Oh, and that disgusting charge of being racist. I’m speaking to the most slandered group in America today. (What did I tell you?) Join me in telling the lamestream media then that we wear your scorn with pride. (Well good because I give it with pride.) The lies that you tell about us, well you can’t defeat our arguments, so all you can do is change the subject, so we win. (So is she saying there WASN'T a brawl on September 6th in Anchorage where her family go their asses kicked?)

And pulling that race card, pulling the race card, how much longer they’re gonna. It’s not even smart. It’s not even smart when one simply wants our government to live within its means and to not tax us to and beyond death. Not to mortgage our kids future, and that being for today’s selfish wants. Because of that we’re racists? (No it's because of all the racist crap you say.) Well what isn’t isn’t smart is trying to slap that on Col. Allen West, Dr. Ben Carson, and JC Watts, and Raphael and Ted Cruz, and my husband Todd Palin. (Wait, Todd? She is seriously going to use Todd as proof that the Teabaggers aren't racist?) Yeah, no those truly prejudiced folks just remember this. They scream racism just to end debate. Well, don’t retreat. You reload with truth which I know is an endangered species at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue anyway.

Wait, I'm sorry did she say "1400 Pennsylvania Avenue?"

What's at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue?

Did they move the White House?

Or is it actually possible that the woman who feels perfectly comfortable lecturing liberals about how ignorant they are has no freaking idea where the most famous house in America is located?

Not that she cares of course.

Oops maybe she does care.

Ah self depreciating humor. Always welcome.

Not exactly a substitute for intelligence however.

Update: Here is the entire speech for the masochists among us. (Palin starts at the 2:45 mark)

I think I will listen to it in segments in between sips of wine.

If I hear anything interesting I might update or put it in the comments.

Update 2: Just received this.

Does she still have that red, white, and blue nail polish on?

A group of Wisconsin militia wannabes are organizing themselves as unofficial gun toting poll watchers in heavily Democratic areas.

Courtesy of The Chippewa Herald:

A self-described militia group claims to be checking names on the 2012 Scott Walker recall petition and plans to confront those found to have outstanding warrants or tax defaults at the polls on Nov. 4.

"We prefer our people be armed," reads a Facebook post by Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia, screen captured on a blog at Politicususa.com. "Some will be heading to some of Milwaukee, Racine, and Beloit's worst areas. We will be armed with a list of people to look for at each location."

The exchange posted on Politicususa continues:

Patrick Murray: "Just so you are aware, I will not report Republicans. Only Democrats."

Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia: "We will be targeting heavy democrat districts, so it is doubtful this will even be an issue."

Another entry from the group's Facebook page, which has 31 likes as of Friday afternoon, reads: "Please private message us names of people you know are active voters and wanted on warrants. We can get our agents to watch their polling location, identify the individual, and then follow them to their residence. A call the police and they will be picked up for processing."

Another: "Attention all members: Militia training will be at HQ on September 20, 2014 at 0930. We will hand out updated watch lists, duty assignments, and discuss rules and regulations. Expect it to take around 2-3 hours. After our discussion we will be headed to the range for anyone who wants to participate."

So to be clear these individuals, who are almost undoubtedly Caucasian, are going to go into heavily Democratic neighborhoods in Wisconsin, many of which are certain to be occupied by mostly non-whites, while armed and then follow voters to their homes.

Oh and if you dare to approach one of their members you risk "being put down like a rabid dog."

First off let me just say that I seriously doubt that there are many potential voters who are wanted by the police. Maybe a few, but not enough to warrant this ridiculous overreaction.

Secondly if these idiots actually start following people to their houses that is harassment, and if they are lucky the police will pick them up and escort them out of town or lock them up. If they are not so lucky they may learn that the 2nd Amendment is a knife that cuts both ways, and that, surprisingly, you do not have to be an arrogant white guy to have access to a firearm.

New Wendy Davis ad is sure to attract the attention of female voters in Texas.

This from Politicususa:

Abbott has been claiming that he loves women, after all he married one and has a daughter, for as long as Davis has been using his record as a Republican AG to prove otherwise. But last Thursday she launched an ad against him charging that as a Supreme Court justice, he sided with a vacuum cleaner manufacturer against a woman raped by a salesman in her home.

In his 1998 dissent, Abbott found that a company selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door “had no responsibility” in the hiring of a salesman who raped a customer.

This of course elicited an angry response from the Abbott camp:

“No one has a stronger record fighting the heinous crime of sexual assault than Greg Abbott,” Chasse continued. “Not only did he create dedicated units to arrest and prosecute sex offenders and protect women and children from assault, he’s responsible for putting more offenders in jail than all of his predecessors combined. In the case referenced in Sen. Davis’ despicable ad, Greg Abbott’s decision left intact the liability against the sex offender and his employer. No amount of desperate distortion attempts or token ad buys by Sen. Davis can change the facts of Greg Abbott’s record of fighting for Texans.”

" No amount of desperate distortion attempts or token ad buys by Sen. Davis can change the facts of Greg Abbott’s record of fighting for Texans.” Well unless they're Texas WOMEN of course.

Politifact did a little checking and found that the ad was "mostly true." Quibbling only with the fact that Abbott felt that it was up to the distributors of Kirby vacuums to perform background checks to keep their customers safe, instead of the manufacturer themselves.

This was his dissent:

"Failure to require background checks of potential dealers relates to who is a dealer, not where the dealer works," Abbott wrote. "As a result, the requisite relation between the control retained and the alleged injury is missing. Because the Court holds to the contrary, I dissent."

Maybe it's just me, but if a woman opens the door becasue she trusts the name "Kirby vacuum cleaners" then it would seem to me that the company has a duty to ensure that such trust is justified.

I think this ad is a big win for Wendy Davis, and I also think that the women of Texas are going to think so as well.

I am not the only one who found Sarah Palin's use of the unaccompanied migrant children to attack President Obama impossible to stomach.

So yesterday I posted a portion of Palin's mocking Facebook post in which she used those poor children being held in Texas and other border states to attack the President and call for his impeachment.

Many of you also expressed your revulsion at her attitude and lack of compassion.

Well you are by no means alone in that.

The Business Insider covered her screed, and the comments ranged from dismissive to downright enraged.

Politicususa also had something to say about her callousness:

As her sanity becomes a fuzzy speck in the rear-view mirror of time, it is frightening that this woman was nominated by a major political party to be vice president. If Sarah Palin leaves the Republican Party, her first stop should be the nearest mental health clinic.

However my favorite take of all came from News Corpse:

Sadly, Palin’s solution begins with denouncing the President’s allocation of funds to improve conditions for the children. She apparently prefers to let them languish in 90+ degree heat and sleep on concrete floors. She does, however, offer own advice for allocating relief funds saying that

“The primary expenditure we need to supply in this humanitarian crisis is jet fuel to fly these children back home.”

This is what Palin regards as a serious response to a humanitarian crisis. Who does she think will greet these kids at the airport in whatever country they came from? And there are thousands of kids from many different countries, so we’d need a fleet of jets with different itineraries. Then, according to Palin’s plan, they would be shoved out of the plane onto the tarmac. Maybe we could save even more money by throwing them out midair with parachutes.

I think that captures Palin's utter lack of humanity quite nicely.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the Obama Administration is mobilizing to do something to ease the suffering of these children and find a place where they can be well cared for while attempts are made to come up with a long term solution.

This according to Buzzfeed:

The Obama administration plans to move as many as 1,000 unaccompanied minor migrants from Border Patrol facilities in Texas to facilities in Baltimore, Md., and Richmond, Va., in an effort to ease overcrowding and address the growing humanitarian crisis along the border.

Tens of thousands of Central American children, many under the age of 10, have begun flooding across the border and into cramped, overcrowded holding facilities. The White House has directed FEMA to begin working with the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services to relocate the children.

DHS has already begun moving children to facilities in Texas and California, and starting Saturday will move them to Ft. Sill in Oklahoma.

According to a “transportation flow chart” obtained by BuzzFeed, the administration will now begin resettling the children to an Office of Refugee Resettlement facility in Baltimore and to St. Paul’s College in Richmond. Both facilities can accommodate up to 500 beds, according to the document. According to the chart, DHS buses and planes, as well as commercial planes, will be used to transport the children to all facilities.

Yes this is somewhat more pricey than simply flying over Mexico, or Guatemala, and dropping children like anti-immigration leaflets, but  it is also more in line with how this country treats those that come to this country seeking a better life.

Perhaps there needs to be an addendum added to the bottom of the Statue of Liberty to help Palin, and her Right Wing cohorts, to understand America's attitude toward immigrants.

Give me your tired, your poor, (your children)
Your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

There, is that easier to understand you horrible, horrible woman?

Wendy Davis uses Ted Nugent in new ad to shame Republican Greg Abbott.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

The ad features rape survivor Nicole Anderson speaking out, “I am speaking out because it really bothered me for Greg Abbott to partner with Ted Nugent knowing his history of being a predator. I was at home. I heard about it on the news. It made me feel like the it minimized the fact that Ted Nugent is a predator. I think that it sends the wrong message that he partnered up with this man that is very vocal about liking underage girls. There’s something wrong with that. It’s not okay.”

This ad is important on a couple of different levels. First, it is telling the truth about Ted Nugent. These types of ads should make Republican candidates think twice before they decide to cozy up to, and appear with, a self admitted sexual predator.

Secondly, the use of Nugent as a campaign booster by Abbott is an escalation of the Republican war on women, and the men who support the rights of all women. Abbott’s embrace of Nugent is sending the message to all voters that if Greg Abbott is elected governor, open season will continue on the rights of women.

You know I said when Nugent first appeared on stage with Abbott that this would do wonders for the Davis campaign, and clearly they agree with me.

Not only that but I can only imagine how much money Davis has raised off of Ted Nugent's interjection into the Abbott campaign.

Ted Nugent is a sick POS and it the Republicans are ignorant enough to bring him along on the campaign trail, then Democrats are going to be smart enough to use that against them.

Seriously, at this point, if any other Republican or Libertarian links themselves to Ted Nugent we really have to question their mental health. My guess is nobody will go there, but considering how stubborn and self delusional these idiots are anything is possible.

Heckler interrupts President's speech to ask about his plans to bomb Russia. Wait, what?

So today the President was addressing the DNC when this heckler jumped up and said the following:

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Mr. Obama!

THE PRESIDENT: — I consider Republicans patriots who love this country just as much as we do.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Tell us about your plans for nuclear war with Russia!

THE PRESIDENT: I’m sorry, who’s that back there? (Laughter.) What the heck are you talking about? (Applause.)

AUDIENCE: Obama! Obama! Obama!

THE PRESIDENT: No, no, don’t worry about it. We’re okay. Have a seat. I don’t know anything about that plan. (Laughter.) I don’t know what you’ve been reading. (Laughter.) Let me return to what I was talking about. (Applause.) See, he thought happy hour started earlier. (Laughter and applause.)

Okay now in my opinion the best part of his exchange is the face the President made at the 15 second mark.

This is your brain. This is your brain on Fox News. Any questions?

Obama uses his weekly Presidential Address to explain the difference between working around an obstructionist Congress and being a dictator.

As many of you know the President made a comment about having a pen and a phone he could implement to create policy if the Congress remained uncooperative, which made the Right Wing lose their shit and declare that he was a "dictator." Which is ridiculous since he has utilized Executive Orders far less than the majority of his predeccessors.

So today his weekly Presidential Address described what he meant by that for the slow folks and the Right Wing. (Assuming there is a difference.)

“I want to work with Congress on this agenda where I can. But in this year of action, whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, I will. I’ve got a pen and a phone – a pen to take executive action, and a phone to rally citizens and business leaders who are eager to create new jobs and new opportunities. And we’ve already begun.”

In Wisconsin, I ordered an across-the-board reform of our training programs to train folks with the skills employers need, and match them to good jobs that need to be filled right now.

In Pittsburgh, I directed the Treasury to create “my-RA,” a new way for working Americans, even if you’re not wealthy, to start your own retirement savings.

In Maryland, I rallied the leaders of some of America’s biggest tech companies to help us make sure all our kids have access to high-speed internet and up-to-date technology to help them learn the skills they need for the new economy.

And at the White House, I brought together business leaders who’ve committed to helping more unemployed Americans find work, no matter how long they’ve been looking. And I directed the federal government to make hiring decisions the same way – based on whether applicants can do the job, not when they last had a job.
