Romney leads Gingrich by double digits in Florida. In other news Mitt sends thank you note to Sarah Palin.

Courtesy of First Read:

Romney leads Newt Gingrich by 15 points, 42 percent to 27 percent in the crucial state. Rick Santorum is third with 16 percent, followed by Ron Paul with 11 percent. Just 4 percent said they were undecided.

"The bottom line in all this is Romney's sitting in the driver's seat going into Tuesday," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion at Marist College, who conducted the poll.

If Romney pulls off a victory of that magnitude, he could be on a glide path to the nomination. But there are warning signs for the Republican Party that the primary has taken a toll on Romney and the rest of the GOP field. Each of the candidates struggles in a general-election matchup with President Barack Obama in this swing state, especially with independents.

I was joking about that thank you note, but you have to admit she certainly didn't do Newt any favors.

By the way did you notice this part? "there are warning signs for the Republican Party that the primary has taken a toll on Romney and the rest of the GOP field." In other words, despite protestations to the contrary by that whack-job in Wasilla, this long protracted primary has hurt the eventual candidate Romney and made him just that much easier for Obama to defeat in November.

And Palin's continued beating of the war drums to encourage Gingrich to fight to the last breath (Which, from the looks of him, usually struggles to escape right after he climbs the stairs to his bedroom each night.), is to encourage this contest to go on until Romney is so battered and bruised that he will simply wave a white flag and crumple in defeat five minutes into his first debate with the President.

See you don't have to wear a fright wig and sit on the shores of a dead lake in Wasilla to be a political pundit.  And my information has the added value of actually being correct.

I have been thinking that myself! That this drawn out farce has made it even more difficult for them to compete against Obama. Sarah is so dense. She's concentrating so much on trying to preempt fallout from "Game Change" and stomping her feet, it's pathetic.

I must take issue with you on the way you spell pundit when you are referring to Sara Palin using the term. Quite obviously she thinks it's spelled pundint so I think in deference to her coining yet another new word you should make more effort to get the spelling correct. I'm sure your disrespect to her is part of the reason she looks so awful these days and can't get that wig to sit properly on her head.

Romney was set to win back in 2008. Most people don't think of Newt as a serious human being. I wouldn't exactly toot your horn for stating the obvious. It just makes you look silly. Especially after all the things youve misreported and lies youve told.

There are three things that a long, ugly campaign does to the side trying to defeat the incumbent:

    1. Money - It burns through campaign funds like a fire through a paper factory.

    2. Physical toll - The candidates are physically and mentally exhausted before the final race even begins. The more tired they are, the more likely they will be to make a mistake or say something damaging which leads to...

    3. Ammunition - The longer the fight continues, the more dirt will be exposed by the opponent in your own party. The incumbent just has to sit back, take notes and copy video and audio clips and the campaign is half finished for them.

With such weak candidates to begin with, a long and brutal campaign for the nomination can only hurt the GOP candidate.

    Not that I'm complaining!

Just look at Gingrich as to his physical appearance right now. He is horribly obese and I'm sure is a heart attack waiting to happen. He looks exhausted - eyes tired - jowls sagging, etc. Plus, I'm sure his ego is in one sad shape! The best thing that could happen to him is fall out in the primary and go back to his books. He will probably live longer. He assuredly is a poor excuse for a politician as is Sarah Palin. And, he REALLY goofed when saying he'd name her to his administration. Energy? Good God, she knows nothing about it - ask Alaskans!

He and Palin would kill each other with their egos. Plus, I'll wager that Newt's wife would not like Palin either.

Fox News Host To Sarah Palin: ‘Sounds Like An Endorsement (Of Newt Gingrich) To Me’

...Judge Pirro was taken aback. “But you said, the best chance of beating Obama…”

“Because the math is the math, and the math is…” Palin interjected.

Judge Pirro, to her credit, wouldn’t let go, and exposed the fallacy in Palin’s dismissal. “The math is Obama… the math is Mitt Romney is the strongest against Obama, and Santorum beats Newt in terms of the math.”

Suddenly, it wasn’t the math? “That is at this point, without the vetting process continuing and the debates continuing, which I would like to see.” Palin responded.

Then, it became the math again, I think. “The math is the math, and the math shows us today that Mitt Romney and Newt are very close. Now, if as pundits are telling us, those elites who want the better of us, who want us to just obey them and listen to them, they want to shut…”

Judge Pirro had to cut Palin off because she was up against a hard break (TV jargon for “guest not making any sense”), and I will leave it to the viewer to decide if Pirro’s toss to commercial was a happy accident, or a subtle shot at Palin: “Should this woman be prevented from seeking public office because her English is so bad? I mean, really bad.”

Sarah truly thinks - with help from those who worship her - that if those who are working their butts off to get the nomination can all be brought to ruin - she can magically become the savior having done - as usual - nothing.

John McCain and those who "sat up a little straighter" can take much of the blame for the wreck of the GOP.

Sarah will play no legitimate part regardless who wins the nomination & Barack Obama will be President for 4 more years.

IMO, the present set of circumstances the GOP is dealing with are of their own making. Had the party movers and shakers put more pressure on McCain in 2008 before he selected his VP candidate, Palin would have never been introduced to the nation. Palin played a huge role in re-introducing scorched earth campaigning into American politics, and if she doesn't like seeing it in the 2012 GOP Presidential Primary, she has only herself to blame and those who have embraced this kind of campaign tactic since 2008. I can imagine that neither she nor any of the party "leaders" would have believed that they'd reap some of what they have sown these past 3 years. Let them tear each other apart. I'm not cheering them on, but I'm also not trying to stop them from doing it. The GOP has a few lessons to learn-stop the foolishness, never allow fringers to take over your political party, and adopt some policy positions that can actually do what you claim they will do.
And, a word to those who come only to throw puerile punches at Gryphen: #1-Who invited you to the party?, #2-Who the frick really cares what you have to say?, and #3-Some RW blog that peddles lies and fear is waiting on you to log onto its site.

Newt Gingrich Responds To Mitt Romney's 'Carpet-Bombing' Ads By Going Nuclear

Newt Gingrich stepped out of church Sunday morning and launched some of his most vitriolic attacks on Mitt Romney to date in the Republican primary, seeking to recover lost ground in the polls two days before primary voting ends here on Tuesday.

"I believe the Republican Party will not nominate a pro-abortion, pro gun-control, pro-tax increase moderate from Massachusetts," the former House speaker said.

Gingrich repeated the phrase "pro-abortion, pro gun-control, pro-tax increase" again during a 10-minute gaggle with reporters. He also began Sunday to wrap Romney's ties to Wall Street into his attacks on the former Massachusetts governor.

"They will not nominate somebody who raises millions from Wall Street to run ads that are false," Gingrich said.

"I have had a long record as a very hard-hitting Reagan conservative, and the idea that that record would be deliberately falsified by a Massachusetts moderate using money from Wall Street, from the very companies who have been getting money from the federal government, is really about as big an outrage as I've had in my career," he continued.

Gingrich spoke after attending services at Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church, a congregation of several thousand that meets in a vast 5,000-person auditorium. He complained earlier in the morning of a "carpet-bombing" on the TV airwaves by Romney's campaign and by outside groups supporting Romney, which have outspent Gingrich and outside groups backing him by a vast margin.

But Gingrich's comments to the press were a verbal bombardment against Romney. By tagging Romney as "pro-abortion, pro gun-control, pro-tax increase," he mischaracterized Romney's current positions on those issues. But the intent was clearly to bring attention to Romney's past positions on those things, which have been different, and to label him a flip-flopper -- in the most explosive and provocative terms possible.

And Gingrich, despite trailing decisively now in Florida polls, repeated and amplified his pledge from Saturday that he plans to run his campaign all the way to the Republican convention in August.

"I think Romney's got a very real challenge in trying to get a majority at the convention," Gingrich said. "I think this is going to be a straight-out contest for the next four or five months."

Mitt Romney's oldest son, Tagg Romney, wrote on his Twitter feed Sunday afternoon: "This is my favorite video of the campaign so far."

    He added the hashtag #AnnRomney4FirstLady.

The link that Tagg provided sent users to a website independent of the Romney campaign, titled AmericaNeedsMitt.com. It was a video called "Judge a Man by the Woman."

It features photos of Mitt and Ann Romney set to music.

But in the text of the website, under the headline, "You Can Judge Mitt By His Woman -- Ann Romney," there is a paragraph of text at which Tagg Romney may not have looked closely enough. The text is largely harmless until the last line, when it makes an obvious comparison of Ann Romney to Callista Gingrich, Newt Gingrich's third wife after extramarital affairs broke up his first two marriages.

"Do we want, as our First Lady, a woman who raised five wonderful and successful sons, is grandmother to 16 beautiful grand kids, and has always been a paragon of virtue? Or do we want 'the other woman?'" the site reads.

Sarah , we are not that stupid… we are not Palins!

Newt was falling behind and like McCain, he is looking at Palin to give him a few votes by publicly announcing that he has a job for Sarah Palin in his cabinet. That was a rookie mistake because that backfired on Newt.

So what does Palin do? She gets all excited and underhandedly is campaigning for Newt via FOX.

Sarah milks every second she can get on FOX promoting Newt without endorsing him. She finds negative things about everybody else except for her future boss.

So no, Sarah cannot come out and tell you that she endorses Newt because from then on everything she says will be seen as tainted in Newt's favor and she needs to use FOX as long as she can to advertise for Newt.

Palin's FOX commentaries are like Sarah Palin's Alaska reality show, an unofficial political campaign advertisement disguised to benefit her interests.

So why is unvetted Sarah Palin, the vp candidate that hidden from the media, telling America that the vetting process needs to last longer?

Well if you are loosing in a football game wouldn't you want the game to continue? The game needs to last longer in hopes that your opponent makes a mistake?

So yes Newt is loosing and yes Sarah wants the game to continue because as we all know, Sarah has a stake in Newt's outcome!

For those wondering if President Obama will watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, the New Yorker's latest cover offers some insight into the big game the President currently has his eyes on.

The cover — drawn by Barry Blitt and entitled "The Big Game" — shows the President watching a football game with GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Obama looks on energetically, wearing a big smile and clasping a football and beverage. Romney and Gingrich, who are in the midst of an obvious altercation, wear the same uniform and appear to be on the same team. Romney is shown tackling Gingrich, who is punching up at Romney's face.

Other surgeons wonder if a jaw alignment was all Palin had done.

"She definitely got neck lipo," said Dr. John Millard, a plastic surgeon based in Colorado. "Either that or she's lost 30 pounds."

"You would never get that type of aesthetic improvement by just repositioning the jaw," said Dr. Steve Colen, chairman of plastic surgery at the Hackensack University Medical Center. "Her claim that it was just functional sounds like a little bit of a cover up."

Colen suggested that Palin may have had a genioplasty -- "it's like a chin implant made out of your own bone" -- in addition to or instead of getting her jaw repositioned. He questioned whether a corrective jaw procedure was warranted at all.

"From the pictures that I saw, it looked like if she did have an overbite or an underbite, it wasn't something that needed to be treated with surgery," he said. "She could have done that with braces."

A genioplasty, which is considered a cosmetic procedure, can cost between $3,000 and $5,000. Palin likely has the money to pay for these surgeries and more -- the single mom has made more than $330,000 since 2009 for lecturing about teen pregnancy prevention and she's signed on to star in her own reality TV series with brothers Kyle and Christopher Massey.

    But was it worth it?

"I think, frankly, her chin is too prominent," said Millard. "She looks a little bit like Jim Carrey in 'Me, Myself and Irene.'"

I agree with Anonymous @5:56 PM - SP IS borderline retarded, and flying high on alcohol, drugs, and Redbull!

Also, too - WHO is Sarah Palin being controlled by - Todd/AIP/Militias, the Religious Right, the GOP/Teabaggers, Big Oil? There's not a chance in hell that Sarah Palin promotes, "espouses", supports, endorses - unless there are $$$ involved.

I also believe they BOTH are STILL members of AIP - just under the radar.

The Pirro smackdown of Sarah Palin was definitely a joy to behold - let no one be mistaken that IS exactly what it was - from the very start of the interview. When the topic of Cain's endorsement was mentioned - Pirro responded it was one of the very FEW endorsements Gingrich had received.

Pirro made sure to not only let her viewers know, but also Palin - Gingrich had VERY few endorsements - almost implying those few endorsements were from idiots only, like Sarah and Hermie.

Pirro continued to contradict Palin and highlight her stupidity in very clever subtle ways - leaving Palin unable to determine if she was being made to look like a fool or not! I loved it!!!

And now here he is...dragging that bald headed, malnourished, semi-retarded (H/T to 5:56PM)grifting hillbilly from the swamps of Dead Lake Lucille back into the news and making her think that she's a "Kingmaker" instead of the "Deal breaker" that she really is....You fucked up Newt! LOL!!!

Is this Susipuma or another of the deranged C4P people that think that Sarah is backing Newt only to see him fall and leave a hole large enough for St. Sarah to run? There are about 10 people in America that are waiting for the "reluctant candidate" Sarah Palin to announce her run. The above paragraph is par for the course as far as this small flock of faithful is concerned. They are small; they are very delusional; they are also going to be very disappointed.

I'm an RN with a Master's Degree. I honestly believe that Palin is borderline retarded. I'm being serious. It is nothing to laugh at, nor is this a slur against developmentally challenged people. I truly believe she is mentally deficient, but able enough to "pass". I have honestly tried to make excuses for her. I've tried to find some sort of connection to her. I have tried sifting through her ramblings to find ANYTHING that would prove my conclusion improbable. I can't. She, poor thing, is borderline retarded, and I stand by this conclusion.

She is a borderline retarded, baby-making machine that somehow got a chance in politics because she is (was) beautiful and conniving. That sums her up. She's a walking-talking spokesperson for affirmative action for the low IQ'd.

4:04 pm. Either Newt or Romney would be disastrous in the White House. But since you are promoting Romney, think about this. He is not the person that we all aspire to be. He is one of the 1% and he is not a "self-made" gazillionaire. There was plenty of money behind him. Remember that his father was president of American Motors. He is so tied to the Mormon Church that he cannot see that the government is a separate and secular entity: equating his time as a missionary to that served by drafted soldiers in Vietnam, equating the paltry percentage that he pays in federal taxes to the money he donates to his church. This is a serious problem, as serious as Newt's overinflated ego and enormous ethical baggage.

Dog Damn it, the Palin Bots have gone around the bend,
    as the British would say

They are all stirred up over Judge Pirro's nasty interview
with the Sainted $arah, and are utterly dismayed that
many rubes on her botfarm are NOT behind Newt.

So, what Paylin is doing by pandering to Gingrich is
ignoring all her so called "principles" just to try and
    derail Romney.

Of course the Witch of Wasilla has been doing just that since her days of being mayor, by spending
$50,000 to remodel her office, and $30,000 on a new SUV right after getting elected.

Supporting Newt is just about the crowning achievement of Paylin's stupidity by supporting a guy who was in bed with his mistress while his wife was dying in the hospital.

Not to mention the fact that Newt's already promised her
some sort of appointment, and they are both ethically challenged up the wazoo.

Strange bedfellows indeed, and some day Newt is going to wake up to find she's really nothing but a feckless deranged scorpion ready to sting anyone close. Ask McCain and Steve Schmidt.

Paylin calls it going rogue, but the rest of us know she's a
    selfish, spoiled, hateful narcicisstic harpy.

Wow, Sarah, I can even taste the word salad on your posts.

Mitt Romney is what every American COULD be? WTF does that mean? Who wants to be a daddy's boy with money, cult member who abuses animals? Anyone? And How the fuck does Half Governor Wiggy "abhor" government? She latched herself like a leech onto a national ticket knowing she was undeserving and unqualified to do so, and then she cock teased for over three years and threatened the free world she was running for President. Does that sound like she 'abhors' government? She loves government, the bigger the better. She wants the government poking their noses in people's bedrooms and up their skirts doesn't she?

And what "lies" has Gryphen told? He's EXPOSED
her and her lies to the world. She can't even keep her lies straight anymore.

And as far as 'everyone' not wanting to be Newtie,
we already knew that around here. Try selling

Wouldn't it be funny if they made a thorough movie of Sarah's life and it was discovered Palin was a vp candidate and quitter governor with only a high school diploma? If that....

Just like that movie of the fake Pan Am pilot who bought a pilot's uniform and faked everything else.

Let's be real, Palin fucked up a simple hockey rink, can't raise kids without somebody getting pregnant, they have all been in trouble with the law or schools, Todd and Sarah was always involved in running scams.... How else can you explain somebody in that position who fucked up so much and got by with writing favorable comments about herself using fake names, by just smiling and having her husband advise her from the corner of the meetings and the husband getting cc'd on all Alaska state emails. How else can you explain that retarded clown act?

The Palins pulled off a big scam.... Now that's a movie worth seeing.

Gingrich Now More Unpopular In Florida Than At Start Of Primary

Tuesday's primary election in Florida is looking like a snoozer, with Mitt Romney now enjoying a 14-percentage point lead in the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

The former Massachusetts Governor enjoys the backing of 43 percent of primary goers in the Sunshine State, compared to 29 percent for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Only seven percent are undecided while 24 percent say they could change their mind by Tuesday.

The numbers follow the basic trend-lines of the last few days of polling, with Romney now enjoying leads among all demographics tested by Quinnipiac.

In today's survey, self-described conservatives go to Romney 40 - 31 percent. He gets 38 percent of white evangelical Christians to Gingrich's 33 percent and wins 40 percent of Tea Party members to Gingrich's 35 percent.

But what stands out most is how high the Romney campaign has driven Gingrich's unfavorability rating. Whereas Gingrich, on Friday, had a 50 percent favorable to a 28 percent unfavorable rating heading into the primary, he now has a 51 percent favorable rating to 42 percent unfavorable.

Sarah Palin is so dumb she thinks the reason the "establishment" is afraid of Newt is because of how well he's tapped into the "average everyday American Tea Party grassroots," which is neither "average" nor "everyday American" nor "grassroots." Yeah, it has nothing to do with the reality, as Bob Dole took a break last week from shilling for hard-on pills to point out, that a Gingrich nomination would "have an adverse impact on Republican candidates running for county, state, and federal offices," just like Newt's myriad ethical problems were a disaster for his own party in the '90s, including damaging Dole's run for the White House. (Apparently, that's one pill that's still too bitter for Dole to swallow.)

Sarah Palin is so dumb she thinks Democrats are afraid to run against Newt Gingrich, even though polling shows President Obama would chew him up and spit him out in the general election because he doesn't just have baggage—he's got a full set of Tiffany-monogrammed luggage (from his ethical violations to his chronic philandering to his crazy Big Ideas like moon bases to his blatant dog whistle racism) that Democrats would love the opportunity to talk about.

But you keep talking, Sarah. Keep encouraging your ever-dwindling following to really stick it to The Man by voting for the walking disaster that is Newt, all but ensuring that Obama enjoys the greatest landslide since, well, since Reagan.

'Cause that will really annoy us liberals.

    You've both missed the point!
If Sarah had the large numbers of bots following her, Newts' numbers would be going up even more than they were when she & the first dud endorsed him. They did it when he was on the rise.
She is the kiss of death and everyone who matters and makes decisions is aware of her nasty way of "campaigning".
Besides, Newt isn't fooling anyone and neither is she. They're both doing the same thing. He taught her. Write a book, go on the talk circuit, get a lot of press. These are just some of the moves they have both made and are still doing. Take the close to illegal way they use their pacs, "family vacations" Nanny pay etc. Begging for money from the bots, knowing full well they were never going to really get the ticket. Newt knows he cannot get elected! So does sad sarah!
