Some shirts my daughter bought me for Christmas. WTF?
Apparently my daughter believes her father is a 12 year old boy.
That might explain why she just looks at me when I tell her to clean her room. Even though I am not afraid to be firm.
"If you have not started to clean your room by the time I finish my juice box, I will NOT play Mario Kart with you!"
Tough love, don't be afraid to use it.
(You have to admit that Captain America shirt is pretty cool though, right?)

Oh. I thought it might be a bullseye. lol.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a t-shirt that says Beer Whisperer.
ReplyDeleteCute shirts. Cute post. Started my day with a smile. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteCaptain America is cool, the others. . .shudder.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand grown-ups wearing animated shirts - especially Disney.
Remember that shirt of that full airbrush rendition of Sarah Palin on that well-meaning but huge (hearted) woman? You know, the kind of woman that Sarah likes to worship her until she loses weight and would say, "Well, don't you think a lot about yourself!"
Where is that, oh here it is:

Gryph,
ReplyDeleteIf you have not yet seen it, PLEASE watch the SouthPark episode about the Jonas Brothers and Purity rings. THEN, you will laugh all day while wearing the Mickey Mouse shirt.
Uh Huh!!
LOL..You are so funny. I love the Mario shirt. Now, that one, I would wear.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like a cool dad.
Love the shirts!
ReplyDeleteLove this too:

Be honest. You've already worn them, haven't you?
ReplyDeleteFor those who wonder what kind of adults wear t-shirts with animated characters-The kind who loves their daughter who bought it for them.
they are ALL cool. I have the mickey mouse shirt myself.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter has great taste.
No mommom, I have not worn any of them yet.
ReplyDeleteBut of course I will.
However they will NEVER leave the house.
My kids still tease me about the day I tried to be stern: I said, "if you don't clean your rooms today, I'm going to come up and look at them."
ReplyDeleteSorry to go off- thread Gryph, but here is a frightening breaking story.
ReplyDeleteAuthorities hunt gunman suspected of killing Mount Rainier ranger Margaret Anderson

The photo that accompanies the article is scary; eerily similar to the photo at that militia picnic.
This story is making my stomach turn when I think how far this might go in the future.
Park Ranger Shooting:
ReplyDeleteBarnes is also suspected in a shooting incident in the Seattle community of Skyway that left four people wounded, police said.
An argument during a party at which several people were armed led to a shootout about 3 a.m. Sunday, KOMO 4 News Seattle reported.
At least three people fled the scene, one of whom was identified as Barnes, polices said.

Sounds like a recent picnic that was pictured here.
Seattle ? Keeps popping up, doesn't it ?
I like the mario shirt.
ReplyDeleteAww, cute shirts.
ReplyDeleteT-shirts define a man, dont'cha know?
Anyway, it's the thought that counts. I'll confess, I wear Tweety pajamas.
Mario :)
ReplyDeleteGood thing she didn't give you a Baby Peach shirt.
ReplyDeleteI like the red one the best but the other 2 seem to catch your spirit as well...I think your daughter may have inherited your sense of humor....
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and her!!

ReplyDeleteI also thought: bulls-eye?
I was relieved when it wasn't a bullseye.
Though if I were Gryphen, I'd not wear that t-shirt in certain Alaska locales or around some locals (hint: she's not running, yet she likes the attention. Ka-ching).
Wear the Tees proudly with the right oxford-style shirt or leather jacket and they'll have that je ne sais quoi quality: 'geek chic'; 'Rock Star'; manly man. I know you can pull it off, G.
ReplyDeleteSuggestion for future tee shopping sprees:

This was a hilarious and precious post! Did a second and third look and decided if the T-shirts fit nice that you could pull off wearing them. - Your daughter gave them to you, wear them proudly in public, 'cause it may be more than just a shirt. - It may end up being a conversation starter with the right person, you always wanted to meet, and would never have, if it weren't for the shirt. - Serendipity, life is.
ReplyDeleteThose shirts are great!!! I say that because I am a 51 year old woman and at this very moment I'm wearing a Mario t-shirt! Really. Although, the Capt. America t-shirt kinda looks like a target, it's pretty cool. Just don't give your kids a bow and arrow set. hee hee.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, I think it would be much easier for us to judge, if you modeled each of them, photographed it and posted it. That way we can see them all lined up and make our choice as to which one 'suits' you.
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking back later to make my selection, so don't disappoint me and NOT post the photos. I know I won't be the ONLY one of your readers who looks forward to this perfect way to showcase your lovely daughter's gifts to you AND allow us to choose our favorite.
If you feel weird about it, just capture neck to waist, then it'll be like a catalog photo.
The Mario shirt is like an art piece--love it!!
ReplyDeletehaha, i bet that looks cute
ReplyDeleteIt isn't Captain America, it's "Captain Alaska!"
ReplyDeleteMario is for the never-ending blog entries, and the tireless way in which Gryphen keeps on after the prize, avoiding all those mushrooms and what else.
As for Mickey, well, I'm still working on that one. Perhaps wearing it to a mayoral function with his Holiness Sullivan?
I'd be wary of wearing that Captain America shirt.
ReplyDeleteLooks too much like a target.
What?! You mean you're NOT a 12yo kid??
ReplyDeleteI think she loves you.
ReplyDeleteAnd were I you, I would totally go "off the Rez" with at least ONE of those shirts in public, just to show her how much you love her.
And if you REALLY love her, wear all of them, likewise. Sooner rather than later.
Not only will she get it, other people will totally get it, and you will get it too.
MicMac
The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree! My faves are Captain America and Mario.
