Racists were already flocking to Sarah Palin even BEFORE John McCain officially tapped her for VP.

"My plan worked out perfectly. I wonder what would happen if I jumped out of a dark corner and yelled BOO?"
Now this cannot really be blamed on Palin, since it arrived in her e-mail inbox unsolicited on June 4, 2008. Still it IS interesting that she was already attracting a certain type of supporter even at a time when the idea that she would be part of the GOP ticket was pure speculation.

I've seen several articles mentioning your name as a possible running mate for John McCain this election year. I was completely opposed to Hilary getting the nomination, so I'm glad that she didn't get the nomination, but I firmly believe this country is going to vote for a white man over a black man, regardless of the change policies Obama is marketing, and regardless of John McCain's qualifications.

It is almost like racists have a certain sixth sense about who is one of their own, don'tcha think?

Also keep in mind that this was less than a month and a half after Palin supposedly gave birth to Trig.

P.S. Thanks for all of the links to interesting e-mails you all have sent me. I am just now starting to work my way through them. So far the most fascinating part are the redactions, and where they show up.

Update: Here is another very interesting e-mail from ADN reporter Lisa Demer (She was the one who dogged Palin about the rumors that Trig was not her son, until Pat Dougherty pulled her off the story after Palin threw a fit.) about Palin's financial disclosures back in March of 2009.

From: Demer, Lisa
To: Leighow, Sharon W (GOV)
Sent: Thu Mar 19 19:34:29 2009
Subject: Financial Disclosure
Hi Sharon, We’re planning to do a story on Friday about Gov. Palin’s financial disclosure, maybe as part of the ethics story but more likely as a separate story. Would it be possible to talk with the governor about it?
The main questions, at this point, are:
 - Why does she have a debt for legal bills to begin with? I know the state contracted with Tom Van Flein initially to represent the governor and some of her staff in Troopergate. How and why did that become the governor’s personal responsibility? Did that surprise her?
 - How much is the debt precisely?
- How does she intend to pay it? Does she have liabilty insurance to cover that?
- Why didn’t she list any tax obligation to the IRS, since she has to pay taxes on the per diem?
- Why not list debt to the state for children’s travel?
 - I remember reading that Bristol had gotten boxes and boxes of baby gifts, delivered to the family’s home. Why weren’t those listed?
- What does the governor intend to do with the uncashed checks? Will any be sent to SarahPac? - On gifts, what does "estimate - for distribution" mean?
- Which pair of glasses were a gift? When did the governor wear them? ( any public appearance?)
- Regarding campaign spending, is the total for children’s travel $17,937 and for Todd $16,741? It wasn’t quite clear whether Todd’s was included in the $17,937 or in addition to it. Thanks much, Lisa Demer

This line of questioning seems to throw the Palin camp into a mild panic and almost everything that they discuss about complying with Demer is redacted.

It also doesn't appear that they provided Demer with the information she asked for, as this was the story that appeared on Friday March 20, under her byline.

I don't believe that some of Demer's questions, like proof that the ethics charges created huge financial bills for her, have EVER been backed up with any data.

I have to say that I think that "divorce" e-mail was a joke. She uses "marital problems" in quotes, seeming to reference rumors of some sort. Frank responds that it's funny.

ETA, I did the same thing once when the office rumor mill had me having an affair with one of the VPs. He was a friend and we had gone for a drink. So I e-mailed him to say, "hey, did you know we're having an affiar?"

It's like saying he's confident that everybody has a white sheet in their closet, and in the privacy of the voting booth, they'll vote white first no matter what.

The anti gay marriage bills (like Prop 8 in California) are from the same playbook. In the privacy of the booth, anybody can be a homophobe and get away with it.

It once again proves that racists are republican, note please that I did not say that all republicans are racists. Though most sane conservatives that I know will be voting for president Obama in Nov, I almost feel sorry for them that they had to abandon their political party because it has been taken over by raicst extremists.

So, the more I read, it really is apparent that:

    A. Bristol spent little time in Wasilla during summer 2008. And knowing how she pushed the Johnstons away (even when she was never close to them), it's really sad the RNC completely concocted her BS engagement.

Satan Speaks to Santorum - and Has Some Words For Sarah Palin, Too

...Wait. Did Sarah Palin say that my name is nothing more than "terminology"? Get thee to a United Church of Christ! That's liberal-hippie talk!

And excuse me, but "wee-weed up"? "Lame-stream"? Name-calling and scatological references are a great road to go down ... that is, if you're headed my way! But to we men of wealth and taste, it does sound a bit ... well, juvenile.

My marketing strategy's been public knowledge for thousands of years, so how could you get it so wrong? I've got seven closers that work like a charm: Sloth, pride, anger, gluttony, greed, lust, and envy. And I've got benchmarks for tracking my prospects that would make most sales managers green with envy. The Competition calls 'em Commandments. I call them "barriers to sale."

As for those commandments -- well, I think "not bearing false witness" is pretty high up on the list, don't you? So why are you accusing your opponent of using "false theology"? And who's the Nazi in that analogy of yours?

But I gotta say: When you say that "mainline Protestantism" is "gone from the world of Christianity" ... well, you're making my work easy for me. But why are you just implying that the president isn't Christian? I'm with Crazy Preacher Dude: Don't wimp out now! Say he's a heretic and Muslim, and all those mainstream Christians are too! In fact, burn 'em at the stake while you're at it!

With all this Muslim-baiting, have you forgotten the meaning behind the story of the Good Samaritan? I sure hope so.

But I'm still disappointed that you and the Demi-Governor would deny me. Me! The one you called the "Father of Lies." Do you deny now that we're fighting a"spiritual war"? Because we are -- but it's a war for the heart, not the ballot box. And it's on, man, it's on!

In fact, it's always on. It's perpetually being fought -- in the dark, in the quiet, in the lonely and secret spaces. It's always being fought, one-on-one, by a soul who's alone in the emptiness with me.

And you know me: I'm the Whisperer. I'm the voice that tells humans to do evil. I'm the vanity that makes you all want to be on television, the pride that makes you think you can run a country. I'm the greed that makes people cheat and lie to get rich. And I'm the envy that makes you lie down with them so they'll buy ads for you to steal the attention you covet in others...

ummm what bristol? Your logic is baffling. You make no sense. Your thoughts are incoherent at best. WTF are you trying to say exactly?
    Let's try to parse this:
Bristol realized raising her own kid is different from babysitting......OK got it, makes sense. Then you leap to "no wonder Tripp had a great relationship with Todd. It appears Todd raised him half the time in infancy." HUH????

Are you trying to say Sarah WASN'T there as much as Todd in your ultra passive aggressive way (i.e. naming Tripp after Shailey)? I believe that because you know she reads here. Seems like you and momma got some issues to work out but the comments section of IM isn't the best place for it.... LOL

Not being a sheep I, like Anon 7.22, have no need to follow the herd. I see the email as being amenable to different interpretations, one of which is that it was not a serious statement of the relationship between Todd and Sarah.

None of us, including you GinaM, can be certain. This might come as a shock to you if it was a concept you were able to grasp.

Yes. Not a Palin fan here, but it's obviously a sarcastic reference to the omnipresent unfounded speculation which was - and probably still is - dogging them up there.

Alaska's a remote place with a small population (less than Austin, TX), so not surprisingly it has a pretty active gossip mill. Palin & her husband have served almost from the beginning of her public life as something like the Brangelina of the tundra for their state's hyperactive grapevine.

And the "er" Sarah stuck in that sentence was her tip-off to the people reading it that she was planting her tongue firmly in her cheek to convey her exasperation.

Ironically, if they'd gotten a dollar for every time a rumor surfaced they were breaking up, she & Todd could have pleaded nolo contendere to all the frivolous lawsuits filed by Democratic Party operatives to intimidate her, paid off all her lawyers with a triple bonus AND sent all their kids to Harvard for, er, the rest of their lives.

  30. I just wanted to make a comment that the "divorce" email that Huffpost is quoting in their story just now--can be interpreted in two ways: either she really is thinking of getting a divorce, or she is mocking those who are claiming she is getting a divorce, in others words, it could be snark on her part.

Just thought I'd comment on that because we all know that thinks in print can many times be interpreted in more than one way. That's why the ;) was invented for texting.

Bottom line: the use of the word divorce in her email doesn't constitute proof that she was even thinking of divorce; she may have been snarking. Perhaps she should have said "divorce" in quotes.

Was Sarah really born in Sandpoint, ID? Or was she born in Creston. British Columbia, Canada? Creston is 67 miles from Sandpoint and even less if you live north of Sandpoint.
Sarah was allegedly born on February 11, 1964. At that time Sandpoint's hospital was little more than a shack. A bigger hospital was not built till later. Chuckie likely liked that Socialist Canadian free health care, also, too.

If Sarah was really born in Sandpoint, why isn't listed on the Town's website? It would be their claim to fame! Privacy Act would not apply as Sarah herself states she was born in Sandpoint.
    http://www.cityofsandpoint.com/history.asp
Why is this important? Even if Sarah's parents are US citizens which would enable her to claim US citizenship despite being born in Canada, she would not meet the natural born criteria for being president or VP. Could this be one of the reasons why the McCain campaign was freaked out and had plans for her immediate removal if McCain had won? Just askin! I bet a lot of people in that part of Idaho were born in Creston! Has Sarah provided her birth certificate? Keep in mind that many towns will record one's birth in another town in your falimily lived in the town at the time of a birth outside city limits. Thus flashing a Sandpoint birth certificate is not enough. It must be closely examined to see if it has a different place of birth listed or it has a little whiteout on it.

At the very least these e-mails show a woman tormented by naysayers, and critics, and rumormongers. If the speculations from bloggers and such were just silly rumors, a Governor would refuse to justify it, or address it; she'd ignore it. Plain and simple.

Ignore it because she'd know the truth and know the truth about her family, and with a 'supposed' faith in God, she'd let it slide and rely on her family and friends. If the Palin's were role models and had nothing to hide, she would have just laughed it off and the 'rumors' would have dissipated.

Sarah sounds like a woman who believed that a job promised all colleagues to 'love' on her all the time. I don't think she ever really had a real job. She never learned how to adjust and take the bad with the good. It's apparent that she thought her jobs in leadership (Mayor, Governor)were coronations, and her subjects should be her yes men.

Her e-mails, from what I've read so far, are those of teen drama, reacting to what people said about her and wanting to exact revenge.

People in Alaska already knew Palin to be racist while serving as 'quitter governor'. She did not declare February black month and was called on the carpet for it. It was one of the things she did upon quitting which was way past the month it was actually celebrated.

And, then we really got a horrid view of her being racist when on the campaign trail w/McCain. She was so awful and continues to be all these years later.

But, don't forget, she did sleep w/a black guy and he confirmed it - national basketball star - forget his name. They say once you do that - it's never good w/a white guy. Wonder if that is one of her and Toad's problems that made him hire a prostitute for sexuals favors?

Remember, IM declared the Palin marriage to be in big, big trouble way back...possible divorce. And, he took all kinds of flack for it. Appears he was 100% correct, which we all suspected here in Alaska.

Sarah and Todd have never appeared to be a loving couple w/respect for each other. They don't come across anywhere near as loving a couple as do President Obama and our First Lady, Michelle.

Whether Sarah's email to Frank regarding "getting a divorce" is tongue in cheek or not isn't really relevant.

We have certain facts that we can extrapolate motive from regarding this issue:

    1. Todd and Sarah cheated on each other numerous times. Both while they were dating and after the marriage. If divorce proceedings were initiated, it would all come out and be documented by the court.
    2. Because of her "religious beliefs", especially in light of statements made while Mayor of Wasilla at some of the church of God events, she must pretend to be involved in a "happy" marriage in order to carry on the facade.
    3. If she in fact tried to divorce Todd, she'd have to give him a very big chunk of "her" money - and we all know Sarah doesn't like to part with a dime.
    4. If she divorced Todd she'd loose her "hold" on certain family members, including Todd himself, and she'd like to keep them quiet.

So her only option was/is to make as much $ as she can so she and Todd could live as separately as possible. After all, he hasn't shared her bed in quite some time, that is when he's actually in the same house with her at the same time.

To summarize, Sarah has stayed married to Todd because a) it is politically and monetarily expedient for her to do so, and b) she's one of those types that won't let go of one man until she has another waiting to take his place. That might be a little harder to find these days than she might have guessed 10 years ago.

Speaking of paranoid, delusional, radical, fear-mongering idiots:

Rick Santorum: ‘Mitt Romney Is In Bed With Barack Obama On Destroying’ Churches And Hospitals

“This is Obama’s plan! I talk about this all the time. Obama wanted to do this. This is a plan to destroy the mediating institutions in our society; the churches, the civic organizations, the hospitals, all the things that the government is now trying to take over and move the private sector and the nonprofit sector out by starving them and over-regulating them. Mitt Romney is in bed with Barack Obama on destroying these vital mediating institutions of our society by starving them of money from the very people that keep these organizations alive and well in our society.”

Big allegation. Santorum would never get in bed with Obama like that. Heck, he wouldn’t even kiss a guy.

    COVERUP!

In internal emails with her communications staff, then-Alaska governor Sarah Palin tried to censor a press release put out by an independent organization linking her to controversial Texas pastor John Hagee, the influential Christian-Zionist leader whose statements on Catholicism and Hurricane Katrina caused Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to publicly repudiate him in 2008. The exchange comes as part of a new trove of emails released by the the Alaska Secretary of State in response to a public records request first filed by Mother Jones.

After Palin appeared at an event in March 2009 sponsored by Hagee's organization, Christians United for Israel, CUFI spokesman Ari Morgenstern sent the governor's office a draft of its press release trumpeting the event, a courtesy often provided to high-profile figures. Although William McAllister, Palin's communications director, initially wrote back saying there was no need for coordination, Palin herself jumped in and began to micro-manage. She suggested two more individuals whose names she'd like to see referenced in the press release (including an Anchorage rabbi), and added, "Let me know when they have done so."

An hour and a half later, she had apparently thought about it some more and come up with an additional request: "Eliminate reference to Hagee." But she wanted her role in this de-Hageee-ficiation kept a secret. "[Y]ou guys do that—don't tell them 'the Governor said...'"

Nobody likes to be put on the defensive which is what this accusation does, so eventually helpful and inquisitive voices may just give up posting. We need to go back and look at Bailey book for one,
And Amanda Coyne has written a great book also,
"Crude Awakening" not just about Palin but all of them.
Perhaps questions were swirling about Toad...heh Toad1982 being a conflict of interest?
I hope Crivila gets them (emails) they seem to put them in a better form.
The oil stuff up there is so INCESTUOUS! And all Alaska has... outside mooching on the federal gov teat.
So it is difficult to put your finger on exactly what was going on at that time.

@1:15 - I think that poster may just have been trying to show how inconsistent these birther clowns are.

There are two ways to be a "natural born citizen:
One can be the child of an American citizen no matter where one is born. e.g. John McCain, born in Panama

or one can be born on American soil, and the citizenship of one's parents doesn't matter, (unless they are here on as diplomats or an invading army.)

GinaM I firmly believe, is a paid writer, hired by Sarah Palin to diminish the validity of Immoral Minority commenters

I believe she is being paid to infiltrate this blog and to make it appear that Gryphen's supporters have the same low level of intelligence, lack of class, and are as ignorant as those who comment on C4P.

I wonder if it is difficult for GinaM to dumb down to the level of an 8 year old or if it just comes naturally to her.

In any event, the lack of respect for decent discourse on this blog as portrayed in Gina's comments paints a portrait better of her far better than any words I could come up with.

And have you ever noticed, that JUST LIKE SARAH PALIN HERSELF, GINA CANNOT LET ANY, AND I MEAN ANY, COMMENT THAT IS OPPOSED TO HER, GO UNCOMMENTED ON.

    Sarah, is that you? :)

    You ARE your words.

Gina @3:56 That email is great because it also shows even more of the preposterous lies Palin used in trying to appease the villagers after ignoring them for months. She's peddling this story about Todd being a villager who left his home to go work and then came back to be among "his people"?? WTF is she pulling with this one? Anyone can prove she's lying about Todd. He didn't grow up in a remote village and leave in order to support his family! She was specifically referring to the years BEFORE they were married, not when he was working on the slope as Wasilla isn't exactly a remote village nor did he live in one when he was in high school. Is there anything she won't lie about?? NO!!

How many times have we seen this one before: Something incriminating surfaces about Palin. Anon posters pop up on IM and elsewhere, same short posts over and over in different threads: "I'm no fan of Sarah Palin but..."
Remember when Palin faked the half-marathon, and someone realized that the dolt who did the photoshopping left a woman's head of hair in the shot behind a man who, upon close inspection, did not have a ponytail? The sprinkling of emails then had exactly the same tone as we're seeing now: "Oh, hah hah, isn't that funny, too bad we'll never tell anything from photographs." Etc.
But you gotta admit: nice of our "subtle" troll friends to let us know when we're onto something.

Paranoid much? That is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. Why are you trying to stir up trouble on this blog? If you 'firmly believe' this, you are truly an idiot.

What I'm thinking is that she made such a big stink about Randy Rudrich and she herself had gotten 5K from Bill Allen for her Lt. Gov run, maybe she was afraid of being sucked into the FBI "poison pen"? B/c we've seen in earlier emails she actually shared classified info with the toad and him with her Re: BP after this?
Every must Read Amanda Coynes book "Crude awakening" AWESOME READ!
