Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Somebody finally noticed Rick Santorum. "A weird witch gagged me."
Have you seen this article on Yahoo? Santorum told a sick kid and his mother that the market should set drug prices in the US, stating "People have no problem paying $900 for an iPad," Santorum said, "but paying $900 for a drug they have a problem with - it keeps you alive. Why? Because you've been conditioned to think health care is something you can get without having to pay for it."
@ 2:31: So it seems Ricky is math challenged and out of touch.
First, IPADS can be had for less than half that @ $400.
Second they last for a couple years at least - so that $400 divided by 24 is $16 per month.
Drugs for the chronic conditions can run what x 10- x 100 per month.
IPADS or computers are no required by many schools, but Ricky's against education, likely because the theocrat is so in need of one himself.(obviously by the above)
I soooo hope they get soemthing on this him real, real soon. Orange or stripes is definitely his color.
And BTW,I think he ran while his daughter as ill, thinking he would get a sympathy vote - exploitative too. Double jerk.
Oh, fuck!! I'm completely losing my shit right now :) I can barely type through the laughter tears :)
I'd like to see them do a Wa$chilla de Vile bad lip reading but I think they'd have a hard time coming up with things that make less sense than her word salad spewings.
As a senator (or ex-senator) I wonder how much the government is funding his daughter's healthcare. Not that I would wish it to be withheld from the little one - but what a hipocrite. He'll gladly take government healthcare handouts for his family but doesn't think others should get any help.
Santorum needs a reality check, he messed up royally with the i-pad comment. Wonder how he'd feel if Children's Hospital handed his daughter to him and said "Give her an i-pad and call me in the morning", not that they'd do that, mind you, but it's basically what he's esposing with that statement.
Keep Campaigning, Rick. The public needs to know more about your true character, so you can never campaign again.
This guy is so out of touch! This is just proof that we are paying for his child's care, that he's accepting government "handouts." If he ever paid out-of-pocket for medications he'd know they cost MUCH more than an ipad, just for 1 month!!! When my husband was out of work our church paid for my son's medication b/c we could not afford it. It was ~$400 a medication! And no, that's not proof that "charity works" b/c there is no way churches could or would start paying for everyone's meds who couldn't afford it. Our church is one of the (IMHO) few churches that actually believe the gospel and care for those who need it.
And yes, they help people other than members. We have an awesome homeless ministry. My 10 yr old loves hanging out w/the people at the homeless meals, my son is less outgoing and only talks to the people who have dogs. Either way, its an INVALUABLE lesson that anyone can be homeless, they are just like us. We are like someone else said literally a couple paychecks from that. Santorum and his Republican friends need to replace their values with what Jesus values, and let their hearts be broken by what breaks His heart. My daughter's friend didn't want to go w/us b/c "I don't like poor people." I tried to explain to her that her dad's job was the only thing between her and the streets (they have no financial safety net.) She didn't get it, and R's who are wealthy and DO have a safety net are even more out of touch than this little 10 yr old. Santorum should feel the squeeze like our family does so he has more compassion for others. My husband stays in a job he hates b/c of the medical care, and astronomical amt of our income goes to medical costs. Santorum and his Repub friends don't care about my family, yet WE the taxpayer ultimately pay for Santorum's daughter's medical bills. Ridiculous.
(Oh, and someone commented that the free market is NOT free, that the gov blocks purchase of meds from other countries in favor of the Big Pharma. Capital/a corporation is allowed to be globally mobile, but people and workers are not, thus the global race to the bottom.)

Sarah, you are a washed up old hag with uneducated kids.
So funny. Thanks for the morning laugh. The egg whites and tacos shot right out of my nose. . .for at least half a block!

This man, who wraps himself in moral superiority, is a shit-bag. Any jokes at his expense are too kind.

It could also be that not even Bad Lip Reading could make $arah sound any more stupid than she does by herself
These folks are getting better as they go along...it sure looked as if Santorum actually SAID all that stuff!
ReplyDeleteJust when you think the GOP presidential field can't look any worse, Ricky Santorum proves that he's an even bigger asshole than we thought.
