Andrew Beitbart dies at 43.

Courtesy of the LA Times:

Conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart passed away unexpectedly from natural causes early Thursday, his website reported.

Breitbart, 43, a star of the tea party movement, died shortly after midnight in Los Angeles, his website said.

The following statement was posted on Breitbart's website today:

"With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of Andrew Breitbart.

"We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior."

Okay well none of that would be how I would describe him.  I think I would probably go with something more along the lines of lying hypocrite, misogynist, or unethical conservative attack ferret.

But you know it is not nice to speak ill of the dead, so I won't say those things.

And they can sugar coat his life all they want, but for me THIS defines the REAL Andrew Breitbart.

Get ready for the Right Wing conspiracy theorists to try to find someway to blame the liberals for this.

Update: I almost forgot this.

Though, thankfully, I never had any actual first hand interactions with Breitbart he did use me to go after Joe McGinniss on Palin's behalf once.

Here is the link to the Slate article on that particular ugliness.

Yeah I am going to have some real trouble shedding a tear in response to this individual's passing.

The man looked unhealthy and older than 43. Perhaps he should have taken Michelle Obamas advice and ate healthy and exercised.

Some people are so angry and so willfully stupid they will cut off their nose to spite their face. Looks like the founder of BIG Hollywood, and BIG government went BIGGER on this, too.

Bet little fake videomaker James O'Keefe is messing his drawers as he no longer has BIG Andy to hide behind and bankroll him.

    4. Gryphen; a commenter on the attached BB post reminded me of why we neednt feel bad about telling the truth about this very horrible individual so soon after his death.

When Ted Kennedy passed BB wrote a disgusting article immediately called 'Rest in Chappaquidick' and unleashed a VILE stream of hate via Twitter in the hours after the passing. Just a sample: 'a big ass motherf$&ker' and a 'prick'. Much more of course.

As good people we struggle with this. But he sets the example to be followed for himself and he truly was a cruel, nasty person posing as a patriot. He hated the country, hated people that disagreed with him and was shockingly vile to those that did.

I won't believe this until I see a body. I wonder what Nancy Grace will say about this. She probably wants to attend the autopsy. This feels like an attempt to out something. We should all keep that in mind. The guy is/was nuts. If it is true at least GOP radio will stop attacking the President for one day.

      Get lost.

I still can’t believe you’re over HERE defending that Nazi Andrew Breitbart. That’s what the Pee-Pond is for.

Let’s have a look at the Tea Party’s rap-sheet shall we:

      1. They are armed. I remember the cops amped up security when the tea baggers showed up ARMED! Cops don’t need to amp up security much with tea baggers, since most of them are so old, and can’t even get out of their hover-round scooters!

      2. They are linked to racist hate groups, like Stromfront

      3. There is numerous footage of Tea Party people beating people on camera. Example: the infamous head-stomping incident.

      4. There is video of Tea Baggers spitting in the faces of black congressman.

      5. There is video of Tea Baggers yelling homophobic slurs at a gay congressman.

      6. Tea Baggers have already been CONVICTED of threatening democratic congress people, and CONVICTED for trying to fire-bomb the home of a former democratic Speaker of the House.

      7. Tea Party assholes went postal, and vandalized the offices of many congressional democrats, during and after the fight over the healthcare law.

      8. Tea Party sympathizers have been involved in numerous mass shootings. Examples: Shooting at the Holocaust museum, and the shooting of former democratic congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, and numerous other innocent victims.

      And, much, much, more.

The tea party are worse than hooligans. They are domestic terrorists.

No wonder the Tea Party is so unpopular,

I’m glad I didn’t know Andrew BreitFART. Andrew BreitFART was no “patriot,” nor was he brave. I would never even associate myself with an animal like him. President Obama is a father, husband, brother, uncle, dear friend, patriot, (even though righties don’t believe it) and just a nice guy. Of course, that doesn’t matter to conservatives. President Obama is a brave soul, who rises above the blind bullshit, conservatives try to fool people with!

Linda, I appreciate your sentiment, but I live by the premise that "Mental Health is the Dedication to truth at all costs." Scott Peck. Expressing joy at the loss of someone who was found to be less than humane to others is not petty, it is just truth. To pretend that we are not glad he is gone is not being truthful and this is not good for your mental health. I know there are social graces to consider, but that is why we are here blogging--no body cares.

Last time I saw him ranting at OWS (at CPAC?) I thought he would be on short time--it seemed like he was coked to the gills and was going to have a stroke. I've also heard him interviewed on Sirius Left a few times, and he always sounded like a kid having an out of control tantrum. I'd imagine booze and some kind of recreational drug had a hand in this, but who knows? Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

    Andrew Breitbart
by Sarah Palin on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 8:06am ·

We are all stunned and saddened by the news of Andrew Breitbart’s passing. Andrew was a warrior who stood on the side of what was right. He defended what was right. He defended the defenseless.

It is so sad to consider his four young children who have lost their dad. All our prayers are with his family now. May God comfort his wife and children.

Many of us will have life-long memories of our work or encounters with Andrew. May we draw on those to help forward the cause of fighting for what is right. For me, just one of those memories was in Pella, Iowa, last year after the premier of “The Undefeated.” Andrew held court in the restaurant at the local hotel talking about his favorite topic: how “culture is upstream of politics” and how conservatives must be unafraid to fight the leftwing media, cultural, and political establishments. The loss of his voice in this fight will be deeply felt, but thankfully his work lives on at his “Bigs,” and thank God for his inspiration and leadership.

God bless you, Andrew. Rest in peace, friend. We will continue the fight.

Andrew Breitbart Unleashes A Torrent Of Invective Against Sen. Ted Kennedy’s Legacy On Twitter

By Matt Corley on Aug 26, 2009 at 5:30 pm
Early this morning, news broke that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after serving in the U.S. Senate for nearly 50 years. Soon after, conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart began a sustained assault on Kennedy’s memory, tweeting “Rest in Chappaquiddick.”

Over the course of the next three hours, Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a “villain,” “a big ass motherf@#$er,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.” “I’ll shut my mouth for Carter. Sounds like his heart couldn't deal with the heavy burden of lies and deception. It seems like this "rape" thing was going to have legs. If you aren't familiar, go to his Twitter feed. A woman named @NadiaNaff had called for Breitbart's help the night O'Keefe allegedly tried to rape her. Well, Breitbart ignored her plea and now she was in a Twitter fight with him, and said she was about to release months of correspondence with O'Keefe during the time he was surreptitiously recording people. She was going to out them. That's why I am surprised he died while walking. My first thought that he killed himself, but then again, narcissists such as Breitbart could probably never see that they are hateful hypocrites.
Also see this article. Just 3 days ago, Naffe weighed in the rape controversy. http://www.opednews.com/articles/Harrassed-Staffer-Weighs-by-Gustav-Wynn-120227-894.html

When I heard he'd died, I assumed it was suicide or overdose. He was facing some ugly legal suits over all the underhanded stuff he's been pulling, and the OWS video shows someone with serious substance abuse problems. If he had a heart problem, he should have been on tranquilizers because he obviously needed them.

I'll save my pity for the thousands of children dying around the world every day of starvation or preventable diseases, or from American manufactured bombs and bullets. This blowhard? Uh...no. He made the world a worse place.

What is so beautiful about these blogs is that we can really say what we really mean, but still live in our little fake lives privately. I am really happy this guy is no longer around to ruin the lives of complete strangers, not to mention his personal family. I just typed here two weeks ago that it would be soon that this guy would either be beaten to death or take his own life, and I got some shit for it. He wanted out. He hated himself more than he hated his critics and he wore that on his sleeve for all to see. Can you just imagine being his son or daughter or wife? We are just lucky that he did not take his anger out with a gun at some public gathering. Too bad some of you on this post think this is just a horrible thing to say, but he made NO positive contribution to our society and I truly believe was on the verge of doing something very violent. His wife and children are probably going to be able to live a more normal life without fear and scorn. It is what it is. He was horrible (or at least his actions and words were). He worked hard to make himself hateful, vengeful, and he succeeded. He engendered hate! And how do we really know that his family is grieving? Maybe some of them at least are relieved. Perhaps they don't share his level of hatred and to hear it in their homes every day was painful. I am a Christian, but I don't think the death of a person automatically makes them somehow magically good in some respect, good enough to grieve over. Breitbart will get his. "Does this mean it's safe for me to go back on Twitter?" -- Anthony Weiner's penis #Breitbart

  93. How soon before stupid reporters begin hounding Anthony Weiner again -- this time to get a statement from him about Breitbart's death?

Surprising as it is to learn that Andrew was married to one of Orson Bean's daughters -- it's also not surprising.

Bean, 83, was blacklisted in Hollywood decades ago for his involvement with communism. In an interview with Dennis Miller (Oct/08) -- who is of the same, Bean calls his 4 kids, even though now grown and married 'Little Communists'. Think what the grandchildren are learning. Andrew has 4 kids. Listen to how Bean talks in the interview -- eyeopenly disgusting considering what he portrayed himself on TV but then that's due to regulations of what was allowed then. It reveals his more 'true self'. Disgusting and I can't get the thought of young grandchildren having Andrew as a father and Bean as a grandfather. Bean's 4 kids wouldn't be any better to be raised around either.

Geez, a lot of commenters on here are mean and ugly.. all I have to say is you should be ashamed of yourselves but I guess you just need to vent your hate like Sarah does, it doesn't make you any better than her.

We all need to thank Gryph for letting us speak our minds on this site. HP is heavily moderating the Breitfart story so that only condolences and positive comments about him are being posted. I stopped after scrolling through 4 pages. I didn't find one negative comment towards him.

Sorry, the only people who might die that would please me more are Rove and Norquist. I don't even have sympathy for his family. I can only imagine how much better their lives will now be. I am using my internet minutes at sea to write this and I consider it money well spent.
Love the new format for comments by the way.

My guess is that Breitbart was about to be indicted and the right wing was afraid he'd spill the beans. Thus, he was offed much like election vote stealing guru, Mike Connell. They have poisonous injections that are virtually undetectable.

Even if there is an autopsy, I would trust it about as far as I could throw NJ governor Christie.

The loyalty of the GOP only lasts as long as their *sses aren't about to be placed in a sling.

Wonder what CNN says of his death since they did hire him for a short time.

Found a comment on gawker's post about the conspiracies that were raced out before death was even confirmed. Found the comment hilarious:

    "OK, I read J.K. Rowling.

Breitbart was definitely killed by Dumbledore."

Makes me wonder -- Will Westwood Baptist be protesting at his funeral??? That would be priceless!!

trigmund freud - He reaped what he sowed.

If you desire to be among the two-faced and claim him as a martyr as the baggers etc are doing, feel free to go play in the pee pond. I have no desire to sugar coat what the man truly was. I'm not one to be two-faced. If truth hurts you -- you don't belong here.

AB didn't give a thought to his destruction and hate of others and doesn't deserve to be treated with any respect.

Looking forward to what Keith Olbermann has to say.

  104. I am sorry for the suffering of those Breitbart hurt and for the suffering of those he left behind.

I don't rejoice in Breitbart's death. I didn't rejoice in the death of Osama Bin Ladin, either.

But both are ignorant, deluded, cruel individuals who sowed hatred and caused great harm and I simply acknowledge that the world as a whole is most probably better off without their presence.

    Natural causes?

I'm guessing his head exploded. Such anger.
