Israelis hold anti-war rally to protest talk of war with Iran.

Early Saturday morning I posted this video.

The video, and it's very important message, were catching fire even then, but I did not realize at the time exactly how far the message had spread or understand the impact it was having in Israel.

Courtesy of the Daily Kos:

Last week, when graphic designers Ronny Edry and Michal Tamir decided to counter the war drums beating in Israel with a simple message of peace to the people of Iran, little did they know it would create a viral Facebook initiative which would help to inspire a massive anti-war rally in Tel Aviv.

On Saturday night, this is precisely what happened, as Israelis flooded Habima Square in Tel Aviv to protest the elevated war rhetoric coming from their leaders and to stand squarely against the hypothetical bombing of Iran.

It’s not difficult to trace much of the momentum for Saturday night’s rally back to the married duo of Edry and Tamir, who last week created images of themselves with the superimposed message, “”Iranians, we will never bomb your country. We ♥ You.”

Their images inspired countless Israelis to post their own Facebook versions, which in turn inspired Iranians to do the same, creating a virtual, imagistic message of love cycling between the two peoples. That message also helped to inspire Israeli activists – many of whom were involved with this summer’s social justice protest movement (J14) – to organize the county’s first significant anti-war rally concerning Iran.

The other day somebody rather mockingly wanted to know if I would waste my weekend on my computer instead of going out and enjoying my life. My answer to that is complicated. Yes I did spend much of my weekend online, but no I do not believe it was a waste, and yes I am definitely enjoying my life.

To some what we are doing may seem silly and insignificant, but  as you can see from Ronny and Michael's example, sometimes we can actually make HUGE positive difference in our world from right here in front of our computers.

Whenever my daughter asks me what I am doing at my desk, I always answer, "Saving the world angel, saving the world." Of course that is said mostly in jest, but then again just look at what has been accomplished so far, and how much more work there is yet to be done.

None of us may ever have the incredible impact that Ronny Edry and Michael Tamir had this last weekend, but then again those who never try will never succeed in making this world a better place.

I certainly have no regrets in doing my small part to spread this message of hope and peace.

Gryph, you may be right about "saving the world." This blog has been a fountain of diverse information that gives an intelligent person reason to pause. The blog has also offered comedy gold as we explore the life, aspirations and incoherent ramblings of America's most disjointed family, the Palins.

Thanks Gryph for making IM one of my favorite sites.

Cheers, Peace and Go Barry O. in 2012.

    Hey guess what ?

After all of your "saving the world" Sarah is still standing and making a difference without a title.

    Just ask Bill Maher...

The only difference Sarah is making is in providing an example of how LOW a person can be with respect to intellect, altruism (Google the definition for your mother, Bristol), rational thought and emotional maturity. Big Juicy, aka Sarah Palin, is a textbook example of the dumbing-down of America.

Hey Todd, how has the pimping business been lately?

So thankful for the truly beautiful people in the world like in this video.

It just occured to me why the Palins would have a "beauty shop" set up at the compound. Bristol and Willow's new business adventure, I believe. All face, hair and body work can be done at "home", including cosmetic and massage. No more problems when they have wounds to heal, it can all be taken care of at the compound. They have never respected the law and they can buy off people who are licensed medical pros, CBJ. So why not go under the knife at your own home? When Willow shows up thin, we will know where she has her procedures done.

When Sarah was Governor and she promoted herself as a runner, a strong healthy Alaskan Hockey Mom, it must have been agonizing to hide any body work she was doing. As Governor there must be records of doctor appointments, trips to spa and all. There is nothing wrong with that. She might just want to hide the fact that her "tight abs" were from a lipo procedure. She might just want to hide Todd's masseuse and any connections to her and medical or beauty procedures.

So is Bristol going to tell us she is strong and has an amazing family, she knows no misogynists in all is equal Alaska? She and her abstinent beard want to spend all their time in private with Tripp. She has decided not to be a tee vee celebrity star just yet (failed attempt for a lifetime show). She will be working at home doing the "beauty shop" thing? Having fun with wonderful family, being a great Mom, helping with Pacs and faux campaining front for grifters, writing books and blogging, of course. Maybe gardening and canning. A kind of exclusive bed and breakfast, health spa for their beauty clients.

Sarah may be 'making a difference," but it is not for anything positive. She lies, cheats, and is an angry bitter soul. I'd feel sorry for her, but there are far more important things going on in thsi world, like Israelis and Iranians marching for peace. what a concept, huh?

Wow, at it already today? Someone is nervous, I think.

What story is about to blow, hmmm?

I add my thanks to the chorus of appreciation for what you do, Gryphen. Yes it can make a difference.

Hey, while wealthy Sarah contributes to Fox News, which ramps up war rhetoric just to keep the ratings high from their elderly viewers, she and Sean and Greta and all the Fox team have their Gods of gold, cement bunkers, food hoarding, and money to survive a nuclear attack, God forbid. The rest of 'rill' Americans who don't have enough money to hoard, but have to depend entirely on the Lord's protection, are the ones who are being bombasted with fear that Iran is going to wipe out Israel and it's enemies.

It's highly-paid careless and unconcerned people like the above that seem to enjoy creating an atmosphere of fear. Imagine going to bed at night, knowing that they could have had one tiny influence on stirring up a possible major world war. I don't know how they sleep at night.

What good is it if Sarah is still standing, but her soul is not in good standing with God?

Why have they gagged Bristol Palin? Not a word from Nancy French since March 21, 2012? What kind of blog is that? Is she going to claim she is too victimized? Sarah has also gone black? How do they expect anyone to believe they are serious about Sarah's Pacs? They are as dead as Breitbart or just living in fear?

Check out slideshow of pregnant celebrities. Where is the most amazing one or all? The one that should open a beauty and health spa and teach us how she did it.

I think war mongering is always wrong. Maybe we should send Romney and Santorum, along with their sons, as foot soldiers to Afghanistan for a year or so and they'll get the war mongering out of their systems. And it particularly irks me that it seems to be an election seasonal infection of the right wing here and in Israel every four years.

Bristol isn't even making a difference in the lives of her children. Like her mother, if it doesn't benefit her, she won't do it. And who benefits from caring for children properly? the children and the world. When has a Palin, once, just once, called for peace and justice in the greater world? Sarah would jump at the chance to drop a bomb. She is proud that her son is abroad learning to hate and kill. You are one sick puppy, and the world does not revolve around Sarah and her brood.

Sarah Palin using the her Jewish friends: Mrs. Palin on Feb. 13, 2008, 3 weeks before announcing being 7 months pregnant, galumphing around snowy Juneau in high heels. Palin told reporters about her advanced pregnancy on March 5th, just one day after John McCain secured the number of delegates needed to become the Republican nominee for president.

YEp, she is making a difference all right, just ask the DS community, any Women's rights Org. etc. about all the time and money she has invested in their causes, all the free speeches and appearences and the lenghty Facebook posts sharing tips on how to cope with the stresses of raising a DS child for those without PAC's and her daughter Bristol's blog full of advice for teens who chose life and have regular parents who either support them or kick them out, yeah, all those appearences at teen shelters and the generous donations, both mother and daughter sharing of their good fortune and making sure that the platforms they have help spread their message and inspire others to do the same, help one another and...wait, what? Never mind.

That is certain. I still get the worst vibe from Todd when he was sitting on that sofa next to Bristol as she was getting promotion for one of her scams. She had little Tripp in her arms and he looked dead for about 10 minutes as they went on with their lies. Tripp was in bright lights and in a studio, could not even flinch he was so 'OUT COLD' according to Matt Lauer. Doping up a baby is abuse of the worst kind and Todd was right there, pimping his daughter and grandson.

Saving the world indeed, from the likes of swinging dicks like Isreali leadership and the Christian Fundy's who wear garish Star of David bling for their own purposes - like Sarah Palin (yes, it's the new Godwin's Law, all things lead back to the Ugliest American - the new microcosm of Far Right unruliness.)

This is a great tribute, Gryphen, to those who DO make a big difference in how high the tides of reason and peace can go. If sacrificing an afternoon of pleasure can change delusion into reason, then you are doing humanity a great service.

There are war drums, and IMO, on this side of the pond, they start with that Fox News agenda, trying to persuade us that war is around the corner, creating fear. Great news about positive facebook feedback between Iranians and Israelis.

Keep up your good work, G., you are appreciated.

Thank you, Gryphen. You and all of us who spend some of our time exposing lies, praising good works, and letting our voices be heard by power are indeed helping to change the world.

Most of us can attend all the rallies, do not have limitless wealth or even powerful connections, but we can do out part.

In my own community, for example, emails to legislators helped prevent a bill mandating creationism. Emails were sent off this morning asking our state representatives and senators to vote against a bill that would allow tax dollars to support vouchers for private schools (aka religious private schools) that would not be subject to state guidelines regarding curricula and other oversights.

We each make a difference when we devote ourselves to online activity. Most of us do have not have blogs, but do follow ones such as yours that speak to issues we care about. I am confident that most of us follow up on the issues you present, some which we might not have heard about or thought about without you.

Thank you for the time, energy, and effort you invest in this blog and in us. It pays constructive dividends in our society. You plant the seeds, we tend the garden.

It reminds me of "the butterfly effect". With all the bad news and war mongering going on around the world, these two stories show the power of one truth - that love will always conquer hate.

I'm half way through Steve Job's biography, and found some of his views on the world quite interesting. His vision for Apple was revealed when he told his employees they weren't just making a product or just writing program, they were "putting a dent in the universe".

And that's how I feel about you, Gryphen.
