Perhaps somebody should sign George Clooney up to work on President Obama's reelection campaign. Just a thought.

Clooney's understated, yet very firm, endorsement of the President's accomplishments sounded very real and heartfelt to me. Personally I like to hear from people who are unwavering in their support of President Obama, based on his accomplishments and not simply their identification as Democrats.

We need more people to stand up for Obama in that way.

I have always liked George Clooney, who has recently been in the news for, and appearing on Meet the Press after, getting arrested outside of the Sudanese embassy for protesting human rights violations.

My daughter and I were watching Clooney's arrest together, and I pointed out the poor cop who was actually putting the cuffs on him, and who looked like he would rather be ANY place else in the world other than standing there arresting America's heartthrob George Clooney.

I turned to my daughter and said, "Can you imagine what this guy's home life will be like after this? His wife probably won't speak to him.  His kids will be mad he arrested "Danny Ocean." And he will have every woman living on his street shooting him dirty looks for a month."

Another booster is Steve Earle. Saw him Saturday night and he spent about 5 minutes telling us how President Obama had kept every one of his campaign promises except for closing Guantanamo because when you become President it's like a Harry Potter book -- they tell you all sorts of secrets that you didn't know before.

Steve also said that anyone who says President Obama is a Socialist doesn't know what a Socialist is. "I'm a Socialist", he said, "so I know Obama isn't."

I agree with you that President Obama and the Democrats generally have not been touting their accomplishments or connecting the dots for who those incapable or unwilling to realize what these accomplishments mean to them personally.

People would be supportive of the Affordable Care Act if they only realized how many of the provisions will make their lives less stressful and make medical care more affordable and accessible.

The media could do a better job of explaining the law but would rather promote contention and conflict rather than examine and convey the facts of what the laws or accomplishments achieve.

If each of us do our part, whether politician, reporter, pundit, celebrity or average citizen (with or without a blog), in discussing the facts, the truth of things, then we will be doing ourselves, our fellow citizens and our country a huge service.

Thank you, Gryphen, for doing your part.

Media is too interested as you said promoting the conflict and allowing the pundits and politicions to just spew their talking points and lies without any challenge.

I honestly believe the majority of talking heads in media don't know the info -- they're there for a pay check and face time -- not intelligence or education. They don't give a rat's ass in that they too spew a whole lot of lies as they rely on those other people as if they're telling the truth -- NOT.

Does anyone doubt Mitt Romney is the preferred candidate for the excuses that pass for main-stream
      media?

Or that they hate Pres Obama?

Danny Ocean will always be Frank Sinatra to me, but he too supported a democrat President with all his heart.

For all the talk you hear about Obama's historic spree, government spending actually hasn't increased so dramatically under this president. The stimulus was big, but it's over. It's been replaced by, if not austerity (which has struck our states and cities) then a hard correction to the center.

Here's another way to tell the story ... It's a quiz! I present to you the first three years in spending for three recent presidents: Barack Obama, George Bush, and Ronald Reagan. To make it a game, I've removed their names and indexed the spending increases to their first month of office. And I've replaced the dates with integers from 1-10 so you can't guess by looking at the years.

Can you guess which president is which?

o/t Not saying the Palin's are conspiracy theorists. The Breitbart "damning tapes" have flopped and his work and organization must carry on. Palins love the man and Bannon is an associate.

Steve Bannon, producer of 'The Undefeated' and a friend of Breitbart's, told Fox News' that the tapes of Obama at Harvard do exist, and that they would be released within 10 days.

I think George Clooney is great! Harvey Weinstein, at the State Dinner for the British Prime Minister, spoke to reporters and praised President Obama and said that he was not being given the proper credit for all that he has accomplished. A nice dig to reporters!

Considering the arrest was something of a protest 'formality', I wouldn't have been surprised if Clooney got asked for a few autographs - politely of course.

George Clooney isn't a "fair weather" friend, He tells things as he sees them. I was disappointed with
Matt Damon's denouncement of Our President, and Clooney was very diplomatic.

He's right, Democrats ARE bad at pointing out all the accomplishments President Obama has done.

And to show what a kind, decent man Geroge Clooney is, when his pet pig died, he had him buried and but up a shrine to him on the street that passes his villa on lake Como.
