For those few people who have yet to see the movie Game Change, please allow me.

GC from JustMe222 on Vimeo.

I waited a while to see if this would be pulled off of Vimeo, as HBO is famous for jealously guarding its intellectual property, but so far it has managed to stay up.

By the way I also sent this link to Mercede and her mom because they had been trying to see it as well but currently do not have access to HBO.

I am still waiting to hear what they thought of the movie.

      homes chooling is not the problem. no oversight and testing of the parents of home schoolers and judging their progress and abilities is. we test and fire the teachers and hold them accountable (not rightly so in many cases, i believe we should also be judging the parents when children "underperform") so why dont we apply the same standards to the home schooled kid's teachers and judge their progress. i home schooled my daughter for a year when she was sick. i dont have a PhD. however she does!!!!

      You are one of the rare ones. And she was only homeschooled for a year. These kids aren't socialized they have a narrow POV and are damn near retarded.
      Gryphen had a post about the people who said they would kill their child if gay?
      We have idiots who hardly have $ for themselves but will give it to a Millionairess fraud....and blindly defend her? And you say HS or Education is not a problem?

    got to see this yesterday from a link someone left on your blog, maybe the same person. pret-ty damn good.

    I don't think this movie portrayed palin as a sympathetic figure AT ALL. it showed clearly she is a nutcase, and while I'm not real fond of schmit & wallace's efforts to get a nutcase elected, atleast they are admitting their mistake and coming clean. having to work with someone as mentally ill as palin is for sure, some scary shit. I've worked for a narcissist for almost 4 years, and it is the same kind of weirdness - unexplainable, until you look at it in the context of being a narcissist, then all the nonsensical actions make sense.

    what's really funny is that palin has sent her attack dogs out, yet EVERYTHING she has done and said for the past 4 years only proves that the impressions of game change are true. she's wasting her time trying to prove otherwise, there's 4 years of evidence to support the film's conclusions. she offers NOTHING but attacks on those she doesn't like. she offers no solutions to problems, only attacks and soundbites. just like a dumb fucking redneck.

    a dumb fucking redneck who strapped on an empathy belly and faked a pregnancy! truely insane.

    1. Just think of where she'd be right now if she'd tamped down her insatiable ambition and bided her time.

      If she'd served out her term as governor, then at the beginning of last year said, "I'm available" to her backers for whatever position they thought she could handle. If she'd at least got tutored in world affairs and other issues her advisors knew she was deficient in. If she'd just shut her mouth and appeared charming all the time instead of the vindictive bitch she was during the 2 years before she was picked to be McCain's VP.

      She'd be a real threat now, instead of the thoroughly damaged obsessive screeching crone she's now known to be -- as you say, with 4 years of that kind of behavior out there for the entire country to see.

    Just saw this movie yesterday. If you didn't already know about Palin's lack of fitness it will be a big shocker. For those of us who know, it was somewhat soft soaped.

    Really, they could have done a better job on the zombie stare. And the meanness.

    But I do believe a lot did get across.

    Yeah and I don't think they told the truth about Trig either.

      My "favorite" is the complete "white-wash" of John McCain.

      Where o where is the scene where he screams at Cindy - "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOU!!"

      Or the scene with McCain at a speech and he calls his wife Cindy a "Cunt".

      **OH DAMN!! I just remembered that as I wrote it. Kind of puts a whole new LIGHT on Billy Maher calling the Scum of the Earth, Sarah Palin a CUNT, doesn't it?

      Well, it was good enough for her ESTEEMED running mate, John McCain to call his very own wife!!

      _________-

      And THEN, one of the criticisms that John McCain had about the film? McCain condemned it b/c he said HE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE A TEMPER! Uh, not only is that complete bullshit, but I agree that his depiction in the movie was more elderly curmudgeon than Reckless, Raging Asshole that he actually is.

      Here's the quote from McCain to FAUX about GC:

      “I’ve been told that I’m portrayed as using an exceeding amount of coarse language. I don’t use coarse language very often. I have a larger vocabulary than that.”

      FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK you!! ;)

      I wanted to add, that I think Steve Schmidt probably tried to STILL protect McCain's image as much as possible throughout the process of filming. Granted, the info like the FUCK YOU's to Cindy are in the book, but you have to read the book.

      I think Steve is still trying to protect McCain. Of course, it all points to how selfish they ALL are, putting themselves before the welfare of the country.

      Sickening.

      Did she forget? Bristol Palin’s new book, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far," just hit shelves. From her early brushes with sex and alcohol to her drama with Meghan McCain
      http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/06/21/bristol-palin-s-memoir-the-juiciest-excerpts.html

      Bristol dated Johnny Chandler, before Levi. He was a teetotaler? NOT. She wouldn't have been drinking with him? Infact, she dated several young boys that ended up in re-hab or dead. Often due to poor parental supervision and serious drug and alcohol activity. Don't forget to check out the pictures of Wasilla teens and parties during Bristol's wild child years. "Not Afraid to Lie: My Whitewash So Far" would be more accurate.

    3. Just went over to the Beast with your link and read some of the crap in her book.
      The work of fiction she wrote is laughable.
      Bristol wrote on myspace to Johnny every day begging him to call her and he is the one she had the conversation with that made baldy think she was pregnant.

      Bristol is trying to rewrite history just like all the ignorant bots want to change Wikipedia to their liking.

      From Daily Beast link above:
      __________________________________

      Bristol also regrets that Levi wasn’t even there to comfort her, and instead of waking up in his arms—like they do in the movies—she came to “in a cold tent alone as he talked with his friends on the other side of the canvas.” (Pg. 5) Bristol soon reaches the inevitable conclusion: “I was going to marry Levi. I had to now.”
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      I HAD to now.
      This is obviously before any known pregnancy.
      So, she is suggesting that SEX, ONE TIME - WITHOUT HER EXPLICIT PERMISSION -
      is enough to join into SACRED MATRIMONY for the REST OF YOUR LIFE with this person?
      If you didn't think this bitch was a crazy head case before, well, here it is - in her ghostwriter's own words.
      Johnny Chandler? Dylan Kolvig? Other boyfriends before Levi? Levi should definitely get a DNA analysis on Tripp.
      I think Levi was used as a convenient standin for the real baby daddy. There was never any intention for Bristol to marry him. He was used.
      Bristol repeats behavior patterns and her type of bf was consistent. She mentions Hunter Wolfe and Joel Kenworthy. Both needed re-hab and going to the Army. Hunter will never talk, he shot himself, or so they say. Joel is the one that posted that gross picture of himself sitting on a bench and featuring his BIG DIC, he is VERY PROUD. Also took credit for his penis time with Bristol, but all that was scrubbed, I guess. He wanted some people to think he was the spermanator for one of her spawns. It is understandable why he had to be shipped off to re-hab in LA. He has since been bought and paid for. Also there is a nice picture, going to a prom and he and Track in a pose. The old friends and hockey connections. One of hockey mom Sarah's boys. No wonder the Army recruiter in Alaska loves her so much. They have a system where the bad boys can turn their lives around, just sign on the dotted line and join the Army. See how it worked for the Morlock boy. Track has a better chance of success. I don't know how it went for Joel. Last I heard he was doing well and had the expensive toys young men covet in Wasilla.
      Nicole Wallace is female. Maybe she has no children and has never been close to anyone with a baby. Therefore, what Sarah and Bristol did during the times Nicole was in close contact did not send up a flag, and Nicole noticed nothing unusual. Neither did other women, including the McCains. Any rumors and baby stories were just to be ignored. Nicole is not a stupid woman, she would know that covering up babies to advance one's political career would be fraught with criminal implications. She and Senator McCain could not possibly know anything. Who would ever believe they would risk going to jail and their names ruined along with the legacy of their political careers?
      "With extremely fine acting, the film showed how unintentionally vile a woman — like anybody else! — can be if she is incompetent. It was a dangerous blunder for McCain to so quickly choose to have Palin on the ticket in order to create a surprising moment, a maverick full moon."
      "At the same time — and this is crucial — Palin was not shown as a villain. She was shown as a woman sophisticated and ambitious enough for the governorship of Alaska, but unprepared to be McCain’s running mate. She remains embittered by her limitations."
      "Maverick full moon," just like the night Beefalo drank those wine coolers in the tent with Levi.
      Choice.
      McCain is a wonder boy when it comes to cover up.
      Since a cover up of that magnitude would make a lot of people criminals none of the a-holes had that much conscious or cared about our country.       Why do you think Track was not a Combat Vetern? Col Thompson released a lot of public relations for Track. Granted he had to take back some of it since it was inflated and gave an incorrect profile of Track. Do you think everything Col Thompson said was exaggerated or fabricated? He and Track's officers were very close to Governor Palin. She was the troop mother as she was the hockey mother. She was almost in contact with Track's officers every day and would know almost every second of the battles he fought.
      The mother that she is, she would still be taking a great interest and know every thing through her military contacts. Governor Parnell just did a promotion for Track in a National Guard post. He also helps the family. Track is returning to combat. Again he is in the most dangerous war zone. Why would anyone doubt that?
      John McCain's son went to combat. McCain would do the same for his son. He is in contact with his officer's and keeps tabs on all his military activity and fighting. Don't forget McCain is from a long line of military men who looked after their family in the military.
      Joe Biden and others do the same with their connections. Who doesn't look after their family?
    Pretty good on Sarah, as far as it went. Skipped over her dependence on Piper as a prop, dependence on Bristol to be the adult (ya, Bristol didn't really come through on that, but Sarah sure dumped Trig and Piper and Willow off). Captured Todd's blandness pretty well, but not his macho crap.
When she retorts about 'races getting pretty tough in Alaska too' should have been a glaring road sign to Schmidt about the impending debacle. At one point--the "I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do" moment-- it almost seemed like she was contemplating a palace coup and making herself the candidate instead of the second fiddle.       There is a scene Very early on in the movie with McCain and staff laughing hysterically at a...wait for it...a YouTUBE clip of John Edwards primping in front of a camera. Big fucking deal, but McCain is shown to laugh hysterically and...wait for it...says "Play it again".
      Exactly.
      Just like AMERICA played Sarah's disastrous interviewS (it wasn't just one, you stupid twat))
      again, and again, and again!
      Crap, it's STILL entertaining (now that we're no longer in danger, of course) to watch Palin flounder around in those interviews.
      And THEN when Grandpa McCain ACTUALLY has to SIT NEXT TO HER b/c lil Sawah can't even INTERVIEW on her own!!!!!!
      oh shit. Sitting fucking governor my ass - she could not give an interview by herself!!
      Just absolutely stunning. Stunning.
      Thank God, for the Internet.
      Thank God, for You Tube.
      And, oh yeah,
      FUCK YOU, MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
      FUCK YOU TOO, SARAH (AND YOUR PIGLETS)
    Maddow's show was interesting tonight -- at least I thought it was.
    Rachel had an exclusive interview and field trip where she went to a site in Mexico with the National Nuclear Security Administration who was securing and removing the highly enriched uranium material to bring back to the US for storage and security.
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3096434/#46790266
    And the morons on the clown car campaigning for President along with others of the Rethug party want to shut down the Energy Department. That tells you how stunned and stupid the morons are.
    1. Exactly. Rachel even made a veiled reference, albeit much more diplomatic than either you or I would about the right wingers.
      Those idiots have no idea what some of the federal agencies do, and they don't care. They think all will be rosy and "free" if they just eliminate federal agencies.
      God, what a sewer this country would turn into if federal regulations and oversight were eliminated.
  29. I bought Game of Thrones last week and that made me feel a little better about not having HBO. And then this weekend my sisters, who do have it, were raving about Game Change and that made me sad again. Now Gryphen has made me happy.
    I think the most chilling scene has to be the one where she tells Schmidt that the crowds are coming to see her. Can you imagine what a stupid monster she'd become if she'd become VP and McCain had died in office. I don't even want to think about the idea of Palin with power. It's bad enough that she's ruined her own family's lives. If she had power she'd try to ruin the lives of every family in America. And that is actually something she appears to be good at.
      ". . . IF . . . McCain had died in office"?
      IF??? Is there any doubt? Natural causes. Of course. Of course. What a golden opportunity for -- um, a certain faction. Now let's see, WHO would that benefit?
      I don't have cable any longer, but do buy excellent HBO series such as The Wire, Deadwood, Rome, and have just purchased Game of Thrones. I look forward to the DVD release of Game Change; I hope it is available before Xmas. In the meantime, I will try one of the links to preview my purchase.
      "IF" McCain died in office - ha! the reason that old geezer is still alive today is because he lost the ticket. From day one SP considered herself the star of the show, and her mealy mouthed praises and fawning toward McCain were only to set him up for a fall.
      Here is just one example: in the clip of Game Change where she is wanting to give her VP concession speech, she tells McCain that that she just wants to say what a great man he is. Oh sure - two or three sentences conceding to Obama. Two or three sentences praising McCain. The rest of the speech - about 8 paragraphs - was about about how all-American she and her family were, and about how they would fight another day.
      Had McCain/Palin won, the minute after he was sworn in as POTUS, she would have started hounding him to death. There would be baby toys on the stairs, and he and Toad would have gone "hunting".
    3. You'd hope she'd be a bit more subtle about offing John McCain than the ending Curtis Menard Jr. or Dar Miller came to.
    Why didn't they just drop her from the ticket after the Katie Couric interview and send her home? Was it possible?
    I think that in some ways this movie vindicates her-- she was in way over her head. She should have never been anywhere near the White House, or over the post of tiny town mayor. Why did they keep her on? At 1:13, with how she was reacting, Steve should have shot her out of there on the next plane. "I just. . . don't. . . want. . . to let John down." She already had! I was on that infinite loop op watching Tina Fey-- yes, she made an ass out of herself. Why didn't she take her self out of it?
    1. Truly -- there WAS a precedent -- Tom Eagleton was George McGovern's VP choice in 1972, but as it says in Wikipedia:
      Just over two weeks after his nomination, it was revealed that McGovern's running mate, Thomas Eagleton, had received electroshock therapy for clinical depression during the 1960s. Eagleton had made no mention of his earlier hospitalizations to McGovern or McGovern's staff, and in fact decided with his wife to keep them secret from McGovern while he was flying to his first meeting with the Presidential nominee.
      Eagleton had promised to bring his medical records for McGovern's review, but he did not. He initially concealed the fact that he was on Thorazine, a powerful anti-psychotic and when he did disclose his use of the medication he noted that it couldn't be discovered by the press because it was issued under his wife's name. McGovern spoke to two of Eagleton's doctors, both of whom expressed grave concerns about Eagleton's mental health. Ultimately, a portion of Eagleton's medical records was leaked to McGovern, at which point McGovern saw a reference to "manic depression" and "suicidal tendencies."
      McGovern had failed to act quickly when he learned of the mental health problems (though not their severe extent) because his own daughter was seriously depressed and he wondered what effect dumping Eagleton because of his depression would have on her. Ultimately, Eagleton threatened that if McGovern tried to force him off the ticket, he would fight the move. Eagleton conditioned his resignation on McGovern's releasing a statement, written by Eagleton, that Eagleton's health was fine and that McGovern had no issues with Eagleton's mental status.
      I imagine Sarah Palin's medical records are a gold mine for her true mental and emotional status, not to mention her OB-gynecological history.
      Sure makes you wonder about those people who know what's in those records, and how they can live with that knowledge and not figure out a way to say something.
      (yes, I know about HIPAA)
      Wow. Thank you for sharing this!
      "Sure makes you wonder about those people who know what's in those records, and how they can live with that knowledge and not figure out a way to say something."
      There ARE ways of sidelining without spilling the details of her medical records. The first thing I think of is John Edward's people who were devout Democrats who had plans to run his campaign into the ground had he won the primary, given what they knew of him. I don't knwo how they were going to, but I did read that it was in their plans. Of course, John Edwards had some decency, whereas Sarah Palin doesn't have any.
      Poor Steve-- he should have listened to his wife and stayed out of advising on that race.
  31. Thank you for providing this link. I am one of those people who don't have cable tv, much less HBO.
    Amazing movie, and I still don't think that they went as dark as it truly was. I imagine because of the circumstance, they kept trying to give her the benefit of doubt.
    I know Andrew Sullivan wrote that he asked the McCain campaign about pictures of Sarah when she was suppose to be pregnant with Trig. They responded to his question by saying, "There are lots."
    Andrew asked them to send him copies of the pictures. Of course, there was nothing that they could send to him.
    I wonder what Schmidt, Wallace and the others on the campaign really thought about the Trig story.
    She got pompous after the debate with "O'Biden"! Damn! We all saw it happening from our perches here in ihALihAskihA (I hate how she says it!) and we knew what was going on-- I feel so sorry for Steve Schmidt! He meant well in the beginning. That poor guy. "If I say it is true and repeat it enough, it must be true!"
      Most of us in Alaska got to see her in action when she ran for governor - up against Halcro - in debate - she was horrible. That was why I never voted for her! Saw right through her!
  34. Thanks for the link. I watched it this morning, and I don't know how any Republican could watch this movie and feel good about their party.
    But I haven't seen Game Change on any torrent sites yet. The right is very good at pushing their stuff on all channels, legal and otherwise (copyright laws are only about money, and propaganda flies free in their world).
    I had planned on watching a few min. then run errands on my day off, but once I started watching couldn't stop, that was truly riveting and I can see why Palin has been busy deflecting (or trying to but miserably failing, as is her lot in life, on account of, you know, that pesky karma byotch and all).
    Thank you so much Gryphen.
    Have a wonderful day.
    After watching that movie there's something that becomes crystal clear. Palin and McCain planned the faked pregnancy and the D.S. baby long before Palin was chosen. That was supposed to be the biggest draw for Palin.
    And so the secret that the republicans must protect at all cost is who actually was the mother. The truth can still destroy them, even in the upcoming election because it's the biggest hoax ever perped on the people for political gain.
    This also now explains Schmidt allowing himself to be used by MSNBC. They know that to keep a presence in the conspiracy is better and safer for them than to not have any ties to the left. Schmidt will never betray his party but there are still personalities that could.
    The whole video played just fine for me and I watched it after the comments that said it no longer exists.
    Palin will never again be a threat but that's because the repub party won't let it happen. The secrets about the faked pregnancy must never be exposed to the public. It will still ruin the repub party even after all this time.
    Knowing that, there is no need to fear Palin ever becoming a threat again. The only thing missing now to complete the whole tragic stroy is to expose how she faked the pregnancy and who was the natural mother of the child. This may not be possible because the child could have been taken from an adoption agency and the mother's name can never be exposed. Exposing the fake pregnancy can still be done with the evidence available but the idea of it being untochable and sacred is going to have to be defeated. Considering that so many on the left have already been propagandized into thinking that they shouldn't go there, it may just be impossible.
    Watching this has me thinking about Santorum and his stupid statements the past couple of days. OK, he is a jerk, but he has gotten REALLY stupid as of late, hanging himself with his eency weency dick, shooting himself in the foot, jumping further off the cliff of extremism. Do you think his handlers want a movie made of their time with him?
