Ka-Ching! Elizabeth Warren raising money like a boss!

"She raised how much?"                           "You bet your ass I did."
Courtesy of the Huffington Post:

Former consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren (D) raised $6.9 million in the first quarter of 2012 in her bid to unseat Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown (R), her campaign declared Monday.

The nearly $7 million appears to be the largest quarterly haul of the election cycle for a nonpresidential candidate and shows off the national star appeal of Warren, the architect of President Barack Obama's Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Campaign manager Mindy Myers focused on Warren's Bay State strength, however, in an email to supports that announced the eye-popping figure.

"That's more than double the amount raised by our opponent," said Myers, acknowledging that Brown still has about $4 million more than Warren has in the bank.

"There's a lot of work ahead to do to close the gap. But this proves we're building something special," said Myers, adding that Warren "out-raised Scott Brown right here in Massachusetts."

Myers said that more than 30,000 people from 350 Massachusetts cities and towns contributed and that 83 percent of the donations since January have been for $50 or less. Those points were aimed at countering GOP charges that Warren, a former Harvard professor, is primarily an outsider backed by Washington forces.

This may be the most exciting political campaign of 2012.

Well besides that one between the President and the guy who makes the color beige look interesting
"I wonder what I'm thinking today? I better ask my campaign."
Nope I think the Massachusetts campaign is definitely more exciting.

  2. I hope Warren is our first woman president. She won’t be young… but she doesn’t seem to be aging quickly, either. She’s not worn down from a life in politics like Clinton.

      Proudly gave her $100.

We need to support the people who we believe in.

For me, it's Elizabeth and Barack.

      Game on.

I support Elizabeth Warren as well as our President!
When I was a young married woman, we did have a Consumer Protection agency and I know as I called them for help & I had a voice and was helped.
I worked for the Insurance ind. for a while & learned a lot about their "tricks" they play on the consumer! The banks at that time weren't able to invest in securities & were behaved because of the rules in place which the GOP took away.
Anyone who is not in the 1% is stupid to vote repugnent today, especially women.
I send money & make calls for the dems in MA & around the country. It's too important now with the likes of Sarah "Joe McCarthy" Palin the liar & her ilk rearing their ugly heads spewing their hatred for the "other". Too dangerous to our country to stay silent.

    So happy to hear this!

Another candidate I hope gets backing is Sherrod Brown. He is fabulous, but is not getting much money from unions of the DNC yet. The GOP and Rove in particular have targeted him and are pouring money in to his opponent's campaign.

If you believe in worker's rights, women's rights and fairness in general, please consider supporting Sherrod Brown, incumbent Democratic Senator from Ohio.

I really hope we retain Sherrod and add Warren to the US Senate. These two people are committed to the average, hard working American.

You are right. Since Ohio lost Kuchinich to redistricting (never again will Democrats sleep through a midterm election!) Sherrod is a voice of reason and intelligence that is sorely needed. Let's make sure he also retains his seat!

Even a $5 of $10 donation monthly to these two candidates will give them someyhing solid to depend on, with more through the summer and fall, whatever you feel you can give. It all helps. These are crucial elections!

Sen. Scott Brown is accusing the Elizabeth Warren campaign of taking out of state money! He is another GOP liar! His money comes from the koch Bros. Her money comes from people like me in MA, not from out of state.

    2. Yeah, and I am in Alaska, and I have sent her money, not big amounts, several times. Why not? I'd like to see a list of Scott Brown's donors. I'll bet he's got some big bucks in there from other places besides MA.
