Here is part of the conversation courtesy of the Huffington Post:
"What you're doing here is a typical media trick," Carney charged. "You hype up a story and justify the second-day coverage of the story."
That set Hall off. She began to tell him that he didn't have to "answer a single question" she asked or "accept the invitation to come on" and speak.
Carney tried to interject, but she told him, "You're kind of in my house," and proceeded to smack him down for over a minute.
"You're not gonna come on and insult me, you're not gonna come on and insult the network when you knew what we were gonna talk about," she concluded. "Done." With that, she cut to another guest.
I watched this rather amazing exchange live today while i was working out, and it actually stopped me in mid-lift and made my jaw drop. "Holy shit," I thought.
Personally I thought that Tamron Hall was MORE than fair with her questioning and I certainly would have been far less willing to give Romney the kind of leeway that she afforded him.
However her response to Carny was bad-ass, and I LOVED the way she schooled him for trying to hijack her interview and make accusations against MSNBC.
Currently #TamronHall owns Twitter, and the accolades are coming fast and furious.
LMAO! Open up that whup-ass on lil Timmy there, Tamron!!! I love your spirit, girl!
ReplyDeleteTamron was my favorite a.m. personality on the local Fox affiliate in Chicago. I actually enjoyed watching Fox back then... When she took the job with MSNBC, I KNEW she was going to rise to the top. She's amazing and her success is well deserved.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! She kicked his ass!
ReplyDeleteLove it . . .
Watching the end of the video it looks like they cut off him mic. And she is right, he didn't come on to answer question on a subject he knew was to be discussed. I really hope the other networks follow this example, after all O'Reily and Hannity do the same thing in addition to cutting off people before they've finished. That's why I love to watch Wasserman-Schultz do interviews on FOX, she doesn't allow them to do it to her.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteDone!
we need more of this "in your face conservatard "stuff from the liberal, so called members of the media.
ReplyDeleteblaming the "liberal' media is all they know how to do and its refreshing to see Ms Hall tell this creep "not on my show!".
but creating stories and running them for weeks not even days is EXACTLY what fox news does!
since when does gay bashing not become a story? cause thats exactly what romney did even if it was 50 years ago.
so how and what has he done since then to harm gay people? thats the real issue.
gay basher, animal abuser, business destroyer and enemy of the working class is what we know about romney so far.
what more will we learn about this guy?
PWNED!!! LMAO!!!
ReplyDelete"This is MY house, Tim. Don't come in here talking that shit. And take your shoes off and leave em at the door, boy."
You're a little red-faced there, Tim. I bet you'll bring your manners with you next time, huh? lol Okay, just tuck that little tail between yer legs and go on home, Timmy-boy.
O-t but related to recent post. Why did Bristol look fit and slim in her Waltz outfit and a little less slim in her other from that same week? When she started the paso, you could see her flattened belly. But the upper hald made her back look chuncky.
ReplyDeleteI hate how these upper halds make backs look chuncky. Lower halds are no picknick either.
DeleteGive it up, why don't you. You must have won the Guinness World Record for having posted the same comment more times than previously imaginable.
Bristols fit today because of her elliptical we saw in her AZ home tour. She's never been a tiny girl since her adolescence. She asked around in July 2010 for weight loss advice.whatever she did it helped her lose weight between the reengagement and dwts announcement (tho in early rehearsal pics she wasn't small and week 2 she was lumpy). Weight maintenance is longterm.
ReplyDeleteYourenot helping other women by drawing attention to personal problems you don't understand.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
DeleteKrusty...you're babbling on the wrong thread! Typical Palin bot...too lazy to even post in the right place!
DeleteWe're talking about Tamron whoppin that ass and taking names...not Beefy's fat thighs and chunky arms!
Tamron went sista girl on homie and had me laughing while the poor little fella attempted to sputter his talking points...and then she really gave it to him...and then said..."I'm done"...
NEXT!
LOL!!!
You mean that Nancy isn't helping Bristol by repeating the nonsense that Bristol tells her, like only gaining 5-10 lbs and about her being a fitness-queen. What a crock of shit. Typical Palin lies.
DeleteWeight maintenance is longterm.
DeleteHowever, pregnancies typically last only nine months.
Personal 'lying on her' back problems. That is how she gained all of that BABY WEIGHT.
DeleteKristy seems a bit more whacked out than usual. Feeble repetitive posts on the wrong thread. Has she been on a manic trip for all these months and is now crashed into a depressive phase? Does she have so much more in common with Sarah Palin than we realized?
DeleteTerrific smackdown indeed! I actually think that she bent over backwards trying to be fair to Mitt, too much so. I am one who thinks that bullying, even if it was 50 years ago, is relevant to one's character.
ReplyDelete2:30, you're just the person I wanted to see here. You mentioned the elliptical we saw in Bristol's AZ home tour. Have to admit I didn't notice it, I was too busy trying to grab some stills of Bristol. Here's one that I grabbed. I'd love your opinion of why she looks 9 months pregnant. Was this before she started using the elliptical?
ReplyDeleteBristol with a 9 months pregnant belly - Feb. 4, 2011
It was absolutely effing brilliant.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some more "journalists" will grow a set after seeing this and Alan Colmes...
ReplyDeletethat is sad you think that display of theatrics was journalism, pathetic
DeleteWouldn't it be wonderful if this is the beginning of some pushback on the part of these "liberal" news folks? It is about time they start shutting these assholes down when they go on the air and start the bluster.
ReplyDeleteTamron rocks! I have heard her before and she doesn't hold back.
ReplyDeleteOT Does anyone know of a video of the fool in Las Vegas? Did she dress up or do another Ladies of Joy appearance?
"You are the unsung heroes of American greatness...our prosperity depends on you" - Palin at #SALT2012
Palin isn't a stranger to financial conferences—she was a speaker at an investment conference hosted by CLSA in Hong Kong in 2009. Though we aren't sure if that was a joke or not.
http://www.businessinsider.com/sarah-palin-at-salt-hello-1-more-power-to-you-2012-5#ixzz1uasnnzNA
Basically, Tamron said, I DON'T PLAY THAT SHIT. This is my house and I will treat you with respect, but you damn well better bring some respect along with you. Way to go Sista !
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S how to deal with a typical right wing, nonsense spouting conservatard. Tell him to STFU and cut off his mic. I wish Biden would've done that to the paylump in the VP debates. "Either stay on topic and answer the questions or STFU, .5gov."
ReplyDeleteI have two daughters and if my husband and I ever heard either of them had been bullies--at all--to anyone, ever, even once, we would be shocked as shit. They are eight years apart, but they both have always been for the underdog. They both befriended boys in our neighborhoods at about the same age (1st or 2nd grade) who had problems, one was later diagnosed as manic depressive, the other has Ausberger's syndrome. But they were best friends with these boys for years. (The youngest is 9, the eldest is 17.) They both make me give money to panhandlers, ask us to give money to homeless shelters and are the kids at school who bring the kid with the scraped knee to the office.
ReplyDeleteSo for Mitt to be the kind of bully who would go so far as to get his friends to hold someone down while they cut his hair--well, it speaks to his character. To walk a blind teacher into a door and think that's OK? Really, is that ok? Ever? Even 50 years ago, you're still a total dick to treat someone with a disability like that. It's just not the kind of person we should give the authority to run our country. The scissors incident wasn't a "prank." To forcibly hold someone down and take scissors to his hair while he screamed with tears in his eyes, well at the very least you would remember being the guy who held the scissors. Sorry if this sounds OT, but the fact is It Is Relevant.
Anyway, awesome job, Tamron! She schooled that weasel and he totally deserved it. And, when she mentioned that she was a lot tougher when she was in high school than she is now, all I could think was: "And I could kick your scrawny ass!"
Can we please stop talking about Bristol? Who gives a damn about this uneducated 21 year old SLUT.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time there was some pushback with the liberal pundits. How many times have you screamed at your TV when a right winger states a complete falsehood and the host doesn't make them accountable. Kinda reminded me of O'Reilly EXCEPT she made a huge effort to be fair because it's time for liberals to step up and fight fire with fire!!! Plus she's way cuter than any of 'em.
ReplyDeleteIt's been said that Tamron Hall and Lawrence O'Donnell are an item. What a pair! I missed this today. Another girl crush to add to Rachel and Melissa Harris Perry.
ReplyDeleteOne more word Tim and I'm tellin the staff to throw you out a window, got it?
ReplyDeleteYEAH !!!!!!!!
Crystal Sage... what a great match!
ReplyDeleteShe spanked and thanked him.
ReplyDeleteNice!!
Tamron Hall is a badass. How much do you want to bet that conservatives will avoid her like the plague - like they do Maddow, O'Donnell, Moyers, Smiley, and like they did Olbermann - because she will not let them engage in their little shit flinging tantrums. She didn't just call him out on his pissy theatrics, she opened up a big ol' can o' WHOOPASS on this punk.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is EXACTLY what every journalist should do when confronted with the hyperbolic boilerplate bullshit that the GOP traffics in. If this was how the GOP was met every time they sent out a spokesman to spew their verbal diarrhea, they would be forced to change their tactics.
Rock on Tamron.
Typical liberals you are all so funny, praising this as something a journalist should do lol. Try to justify it, you are only lying to yourselves. Continue to shout down your opposition rather than have an actual debate. Seeing your pissy comments of course I had to troll you wanna be fascists
ReplyDeleteI agree with you she shouldn't have done this. I think a comment "you knew the topic before you came on" would have sufficed. I also agree that there is an element of hypocrisy here, because many of us complain when Megyn Kelly, Neil Cavuto, and other Fox personalities do the same with their guests.
DeleteBut are you absolutely free of this hypocrisy yourself, or do you have no problem when Fox talking heads shout down their guests?
I didn't see you mention anything about the people over at Fox, so I am going to assume, no, you aren't free of hypocrisy yourself.
imsancho you sound constipated. A little Phillips Milk of Magnesia will take care of all that crap you're spouting.
DeleteWhilst you are waiting for the MOM to work perhaps you can use the dictionary to look up the word facist. You will see Hitler, Mussolini and Japan's emperor as the examples.
Take your troll posts and dumping elsewhere.
When comparing this action to that of FOX - don't think it to be totally accurate! FOX does and has been doing this for eons. The MSNBC group typically doesn't therefore creating the current stir. MSNBC should do it and call the people they are interviewing out and ask the tough questions!!!! Good for Tameron!!!!
DeleteShe owned his ass. You're in MY house....you were invited and knew the topic.... Forget You!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Tameron! Kick him to the curb, then bring his howdy doody face back at the end and move on to the Edwards story.
That's how it's done.
Now you have to admit that had Barack done any bullying in High School FOX would have labeled him a gang member and anybody who dared a defense of the President would have been labeled a racist !
ReplyDeleteI saw this and loved her standing up to him like that! More of this should be done in the media! I'll wager he's not invited back or that we'll see him on other TV shows!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I love the Rachel, Lawrence, Big Ed, Sharpton and Melissa shows! All are smart people -obviously having done research for each of their shows and specific topics! The right doesn't seem to do that!
President Obama 2012!
The printed words are great BUT, to listen and watch her take this clown apart is priceless.. You're right Gryph.. Bad-Ass is the right term.. HOORAY for her !!!
ReplyDelete"kids bully - this isn't the issue" - the Democratic strategist says.... I say "WTF!!??"
ReplyDeleteI say this is exactly the issue. A person's character is fixed as a very early age. It speaks absolutely to what kind of leader he will be. This wasn't a couple of 8 year old's on the playground. This was a young man. A teenager.
And Romney not remembering the incident? BS! Double BS! I remember each and every incident in which I was bullied as a kid, or protected others from being bullied!
Romney apologized?? Did he? 50 plus years later? And it was a really lame apology anyway!! If it's true that he doesn't remember the incident - then that speaks even more to his level of disconnect to the humans beings around him.
Romney's condescending attitude was really prevalent in the clip where he is dodging the questions -again.
I'm starting to believe if the US elects Romney he will make the Bush Jr. years seem like a cakewalk.
I agree with you hedgewytch. I think that the bullying IS important, not just the reaction today. At 18, he was not a child, he was a young man, old enough to go to war. Yes, many of us did stupid things in our youth, but I don't think that most of us did malicious things. And this was malicious.
