In 2006 this was how German Chancellor Merkel responded to our President. |
Today she goes all mushy in the presence of our current President. |
Let's face it, the man does a GREAT job of representing us.
And guess what? The rest of the world actually KNOWS he was born in America.
Bush was acting like a frat boy, whereas Obama acts like a gentleman. Mutts likes to correct and school people. I can only imagine how that would go over with other countries and their leaders. Mutts strikes me as someone who would pull a Brewer and shake his finger at another leader.
ReplyDeleteObama 2012!
Agreed! That picture is worth a thousand words. For those who can't see what a genuine leader we have I say to you.........you are truly delusional.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with that picture. I used to chat with a variety of people around the world....and Bush was a laughing stock in every way. When Sarah came along, it got worse. Check out this great article on Romney...pretty much sums him up.

ReplyDeleteHey Angela honey, let me feel you up errr are those muscles as tight as the ones in my head?
Off topic, but heard a comedy routine by Alonso Bodden on the radio and finally found it tonight on you tube. He nails Sarah Palin but good. The site is:

Enjoy!
Oh, that was brilliant! The best Sarah take down ever. Thanks for the link.
DeleteThanks
DeleteHe's fantastic!
"Bitch, Read a Book" ha ha ha ha
kraftysue: This is too funny. I just posted the video to my twitter and Facebook.
DeleteOh my goodness. President Obama is turning his charm on her and Chancellor Merkel looks absolutely SMITTEN. Bwahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThere really could not be a starker difference between that picture and the pictures of her with President Bush. Her body language with both men speaks volumes.
George Bush was an oaf. He was the biggest embarrassment to this nation that I have witnessed in my lifetime. He had no couth or class whatsoever and no charm by any stretch of the imagination. He had no courage. He had no conscience. He had no...well, I could go on all night...
ReplyDeleteI didn't think anyone would be able to restore America in the eyes of the world - I'm so glad we have a gentleman in the White House now. I am so proud to see the Obamas representing Americans to the rest of the world. I won't be voting for Obama (I'm a third party person) but I would get just as school-girly as Angela if he shook my hand, too.
You may be a third party person, but I urge you to vote for President Obama and not risk giving any control to the GOP...thrd party people made it so close in Florida in 2000 that the SC handed the WH to Bush, remember?
DeleteIt's too bad that you won't vote for Obama when you obviously admire him. Who is running for the third party in 2012? I'm guessing you also won't be voting for Romney, thus your lack of voting hurts all of us and particularly President Obama. Not voting is allowing someone else to pick your leader without any input from you.
DeleteI do hope you change your mind. It could make a huge difference to this country and the world. Please rethink your decision.
At thid date and time in histroy there is no chance that a third party candidate will win the WH. Use you vote where it can do some good for the country and for yourself.
DeletePlease.
Thank you, and I appreciate your concerns. Yes, I do respect and admire the entire Obama family and that includes grandma behind the scenes, keeping it all real and together while Mom and Dad work. When America sends out it's Chritmas card to the world, I am proud to see the Obamas as our representatives. I hope men see Barack Obama as an example of what a real man is - unthreatened by a strong and intelligent wife whom he treats as an equal, and a good and loving father. And today's girls couldn't have a better role model than Michelle.
DeleteHowever, I do disagree with some of the decisions President Obama has made. I don't vote third party because I think any of the candidates have a chance of winning. I vote as a matter of conscience. I realize this is a very pro-Obama site and I have always respected that. I hope you will all respect my right as an American to vote my conscience.
Thank you for understanding.
Now wait a minute. I enlarged the pictures. Is Shrub trying to give her a neck or shoulder rub? My hands would fly up too! Besides I thought Shrub didn't like touching other people and rubbed his hand germs off on someone else like the time he wiped his hand off on Bill Clinton's shirt after shaking the hand of a black Haitian.

ReplyDeleteSome guy says nasty things to Sandra Fluke on Twitter.
Doesn't understand how google and retweet work. Not Santorum, but does still have a google problem that he thinks bad words and threats will fix.

Plus TBogg has the best tags!
This guy fully earned "hoist on own retard".
Gryphen, the difference is, shall we say, like black and white.
ReplyDeleteFunny related coincidence: I just got my brand new copy of the "Baluster & Whifflington's Illustrated Encyclopedia For Curious Boys and Girls" and they actually use the Shrub/Merkel photo to illustrate the word "douchebag".
Oh God! What a reminder! I can feel her "euwww" moment all over again.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how much more difficult the situation with the negotiations that went on this past few days with the leaders of the European Union down at Camp David if Bush was there instead of President Obama? OMG! Bet you Merkel wouldn't have even agreed to attend!

ReplyDeleteOld Bush clip- that a football or a shoe?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFX-dKpcDz8
"Do you miss me yet?" Not just no, but HELL NO!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I were Angela with Shrub, I'd have done more than push him away. What a sleazebag move!
So glad to have dignity restored to the White House, finally. After eight years of Bush, our reputation took a beating on the world stage.
It makes me so proud to see how President Obama represents us w/all the heads of state throughout the world! He does one hell of a job!
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans can't go after him for a damned thing as far as I'm concerned. We need to reelect him and get the Repubs out of the majority in the House and get the Repubs out as governors throughout the country!!! Especially in AZ and AK!

ReplyDeleteBush as "Hodor"
Gryph,
ReplyDeleteI have to thank you for your caption stating Bush was OUR president. As much as I, and so many others, hated and abhorred him, he was still OUR president. That shows respect not for the man, but for the office. And that's something I wish people that don't agree with President Obama would show to him as well. He deserves it and has earned it.
Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking.
Ewww..what was George trying to do there?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it's nice to have a mature man in the WH instead of a smirking coward.
On behalf of the "rest of the world", we envy you Barack obama. Could we but have leaders of the same caliber, able to stay above petty things, and willing to work with everybody, while staying strong in his meaning !
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not just me - take for example the banner that is currently in front of a France-wide chain of restaurants called "Buffalo Grill" (it's a kind of T-bone restaurant, invented by a Frenchman as a copy of such US restaurants). Usually their commercial banners feature the Wild West (Buffalo Bill, or a young cowboy hand in hand with a native girl). Since the beginning of this month though, it's a smiling young black man with the motto "Vote for the best" (you can see it here http://www.buffalo-grill.fr/sites/default/files/imagecache/bandeau_home_spring/02sliderjeu918x285pxV2.jpg ).
And let me tell you that restaurants don't ever make political statements over here, so it's not about politics, it's about riding Obama's sunny popularity to get patrons to come...
Would Bush even consider approaching a MALE politician to give them a little "neck rub"? No, I don't think so. This reminds me of a restaurant owner who came up to my table while I was dining with my Sig Other. He had known me for years as I used to be his wine rep. He was a sleaze. All of a sudden hands were on me and he was squeezing my neck & shoulders and asking me how our dinner was. Of course, my immediate reaction was to do exactly what she did, throw up my arms. With that movement and my Sig Other beginning to stand up he was gone in a flash. We never went back. What gives a man like that the idea that this is a good thing to do to someone who is not their partner, a good friend or a relative? Mr. Bush, keep your hands to yourself.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can stress enough how great it is to have a Commander in Chief that we don't have to apologize to the rest of the world for electing.
ReplyDelete-----------------------------
Correct, but you infer that Bush was "elected" too - he was never elected.
In 2000, the Supreme Court could have ordered that every ballot in Florida be counted. Instead they pulled off a judicial coup and stole the election for Bush. Later recounts of every Florida ballot proved that if all counties had been recounted, Bush would have lost Florida by a few thousand votes.
Then, in 2004, we saw the election-rigging machine at it again in Ohio. Kenneth Blackwell, scumbag extraordinaire did everything he could to help Diebold steal the election. Robert Kennedy exposed much of this in the pages of Rolling Stone. Bush stole his re-election and the mainstream Corporate Media promptly ignored it.
The respect President Obama feels for ALL people, not only world leaders, just shines through. He is like a magnet to people who are looking for DECENCY. W was a fool, with a low I.Q. Just like Romney, he would never have made it into the WH without Daddy. Romney has had to use family connections all his life, since he has no character, personality, human decency at all.
ReplyDeleteWhoof! I remember that prank by Bush with Angela and it seemed so odd. Yet, the Republicans scream how the present administration doesn't boast about American exceptionalism enough. Uhmmmm, I think actions speak louder than words. And President Obama's tact and actions impress the world more than schoolyard bullying and hubris.
ReplyDeleteThat last frame with W and Merkel says it all...
ReplyDeleteW: "Did I do something wrong?"
What a fucking idiot!
