Best excuse to get out of school EVER!

Courtesy of the Post Bulletin:

Tyler Sullivan, a fifth-grader in Rochester, has a good reason for missing class on Friday. And an even better absence note.

Tyler went to watch his father, Ryan Sullivan, introduce President Obama before the president's speech at Honeywell in Golden Valley. When he returns to class Monday, Tyler can show his teacher a handwritten note from the president explaining where he was.

"Mr. Ackerman, please excuse Tyler. He was with me!" the president wrote on a card with the presidential seal and then signed it. KMSP-TV's Rob Olson tweeted two pictures afterward. One was a closeup of the note and one was of a smiling Tyler with his nifty souvenir.

Now THAT is the BEST note to excuse a missed day of school that you could possibly have.

Unless of course you lived in Texas.  Or Alaska.

Couldn't you imagine Sarah Palin writing an excuse for Piper....

    Mrs. Klanmember,

I need to keep Piper out of school today for grafting duties and to run interference.

Why oh why do we have to see that skanks name on every pleasant thread?

We should always be mindful of the complete other side of the spectrum. Sarah's vigilance is a sight to behold, she's half-assed at everything yet her hatred of Obama is legend.

So yes, in our Sarah's wonky-eyed view, she must be named, lest we are ever doomed to repeat a colossal mistake like her.

The note is a great suvenier - andIhope, the kid gets to keep it - but it will only work,if the kid's teacher is not a tea bragger!!!

Tyler was interviewed on a local news channel after the President's visit. He has framed the note and plans to keep it. I'm sure Mr Ackerman will agree :)

I can not imagine Romney writing a note like that. He does not seem to connect with kids in spite of having 5 sons. Come to think of it, he does not seem to "connect" with any human!! I wonder if Anne got pregnant by artificial insemination?

Very cool. I just love Obama's signature. Frame it and and take good care of it Tyler. It is a treasure for sure.

4:37 You are so right - President Obama has a wonderful signature - it's a classic. I think this is a win win for the young man, his teacher, his parents and our President.

I love that the President would take time from his busy schedule and be thoughtful enough to do this for a little boy. He seems to often go out of his way to make a child's day special.

What a treasure Tyler has now!

Awesome! A little archival treatment and they have a family heirloom. :)

Oh no, the only reason why you should miss school is because of Mono, or acting like a shield for your mother gunning for powerful positions way over her head.

I'm sure Sarah and Bristol are sneering at this note. How Bristol or Willow 'graduated' from missing so much school is beyond me.

Well, I haven't seen any actual proof that either Bristol or Willow has graduated. I don't trust Sarah enough to take her word for it and neither of the girls sounds very smart.
