I love how both President and Mrs. Obama (okay, Barack and Michelle :)) show love and unconditional support to their children. These girls will grow up and make a difference in not only their lives, but but the lives around them. Bless our president on this Fathers Day.

Also, bless you on this special day for the wonderful father you are to your daughter. I know she appreciates you, as do I - and I am old enough to be your mother. I'd be proud to call you Son. You are a good man.

They seem like nice people and good parents, however, somehow I rec'vd an email asking for money, again, from Obama, due to it being Father's Day. I don't know how I got on these email lists but I don't give anything to any political candidates and I wish we could celebrate how wonderful our President is without being asked for money!

    1. Our President is fighting a hard battle. The Republicans are trying to beat him by spending obscene amounts of money.

In America ~ as of yet, dollars are not votes. We can donate $5 here and there (micro-donations) as we're each able, and still beat their Addelson/Koch/Paxson billions.

      Thanks, Hammer and a Feather

Our President and our country need every bit of support from the people he works so hard for.

He's got the middle class, working poor and poor's best interest at heart. A few bucks from many goes a long way. He's smart enough to use it wisely.

There are two ways to support a candidate in a democracy like ours: donate some money (it does not have to be a lot) and work on the campaign. Anon at 7:45 pm, if you want to save our country from the Republican threat (and it is a real threatI,
either contribute your money or your time to the Democrats this election. I'm not a rich person and I contributed both time and money in 2008, this time I can only contribute money and in small amounts but I'm doing it because I love my country and I want President Obama to continue to be president and I want him to have the support of a truly Democratic Congress.

Puhlease. If you don't want to give it, that's you privilege. Why bellyache on this blog about it?!

The only way the President can fight the big monied Repubs in November, is by donations, and no donation is too small, three dollars is less than a cup of coffee.

I recently received a phone call from the Obama team asking for a donation. I replied that while I would be voting for the President, I could not contribute money as I've been out of work for over 2 years. The team member was very polite, apologized for bothering me, wished me good luck in my job search, and I have never received another call. That level of courtesy so impressed me that a monetary donation will certainly be made, however small.

You can always block the e-mail address if you dislike being reminded that it is our responsibility to support our President, and not just by voting. [snark off]

This was wonderful to see. Thank you.

Once again though I have to mention that I think the acronyms FLOTUS and POTUS, if not actually desrectful in themselves, lend a certain distance that allows disrespect in. President and First Lady works fine for me and I believe those titles place dignity where it should be. Just saying....
