President Obama takes 13 point lead over Romney. Now we're talking!

Courtesy of Business Week:

Barack Obama has opened a significant lead over Mitt Romney in a Bloomberg National Poll that reflects the presumed Republican nominee’s weaknesses more than the president’s strengths.

Obama leads Romney 53 percent to 40 percent among likely voters, even as the public gives him low marks on handling the economy and the deficit, and six in 10 say the nation is headed down the wrong track, according to the poll conducted June 15- 18.

The article goes on to say that the key to victory in the 2012 election will be voter turnout.

If the Republicans can continue to blame the economy, while doing everything in their power to sabotage any hopes for recovery, they just might win.

However if the Democrats can simply allow the voters to get a good look at Romney, televise his uncomfortable interactions with "the little people," and simply show him side by side with the President, we win.

And of course while all of this is going on the Right Wing is throwing a billion dollars into advertising in an attempt to beat the President, while purging potential democratic voters from the rolls, to stack the deck in their favor.

No matter which side you're on I think we can all agree that this election cycle is going to be an all out war. I only hope Democracy will not end up as a casualty.

Well, first of all, everyone in the political media has called this poll an "outlier" because they were more self indentified minority voters. They have to have a horse race to make it interesting.

As someone who is living in a battleground state, I have had it already with the political ads. The Karl Rove Crossroads ones are the worst, and now we see one with a fat woman doctor bashing Obamacare from some group I never heard of. To date , I have not seen one positive Romney ad from his campaign. He has all his right wing shady organizations do his dirty work.

President Obama is running several positive ads...one focused on women, one on the ecomomy, and one anti Romney ad. Planned Parenthood is running a very effective ad using Romney's own statements about getting rid of PP, overturning Roe v Wade, etc.

People want solutions, and are tired of the negativity. All I know is I'm sick of this already and will do whatever I can to get our President reelected.

Willard Romney is a PARASITE of the highest order.

Please cast your vote and open your wallet for President Obama.

Cheers and happy Friday, especially to the penultimate PARASITE, Mrs. TODD palin.

National polls, while interesting, are really meaningless. The election is won state by state with electoral votes. November will come down to a half dozen battleground states. It's going to close.

Of course you know the states ARE IN A COUNTRY, right?

National polls make up all the combined states, so not not meaningless. A president wins by the combined electorals of the whole nation. Live and learn, will you.

To both of you above, the popular vote doesn't win elections. The total number of electoral votes wins elections. A national poll is a measure of the popular vote. If you don't know where the numbers come from it is largely meaningless.

But thanks for the civics lessons. It's good to learn that states are in a country. And that after working on a couple of presidential campaigns, I am told I need to live and learn.

You could win the popular vote and lose the electoral college vote because of where your votes came from.

That's all that I was saying.

  5. Remember the "Jimmy Carter is too nice to be President" meme? It was part of the smear campaign to undercut him in 1980 so a chest-thumping right-wing order-taker could assume the Presidency.

    Watch.

The commentary on President Obama is about to change...

And spending money to portray Ronald Wilson Romney as nasty and larcenous, even vile, is doing this GOP's work for it--the theme will run so: in this world a President needs to be tough!

After all, what do you really think was Sarah Palin's actual appeal for the the "heartland"? Her character and her evident nature, my friends. (By the way, a pitbull is delicious.)

President Obama is as tough and strong as they come. We are so proud of him. AND coupled with that roughness and strength is his humanity.

Let's not let this make us less vigilant in our campaigning for Pres Obama. We must keep up our campaigning until after all the votes have come in, on November 6th.

    Obama Outfoxes Romney

The president’s agility on gay marriage and immigration is making his rival look stodgy and unprincipled.

President Obama's campaign needs to keep showing the soundbites/videos of Romney in the recent primary! Especially near voting time as that is when more voters will be paying attention to the campaign.

Encourage those in favor or President Obama to get out and vote and obtain their proper documentation based on their particular state's laws.

Some of the issues Romney refuses to commit to are whether he supports: ending deportations of immigrants eligible for the Dream Act, Lily Ledbetter Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, Violence Against Women Act, or eliminating tax breaks for private equity partners. Willard also avoided answering questions about how many federal agencies he will eliminate and which tax loopholes he will close to fund the outrageous tax breaks for the rich. Romney has a history of “not laying out just exactly” what his real agenda is because doing so in his bid for Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat definitely cost him the election in 1994. The real problem with Romney’s reluctance to lay out his agenda is not his ambiguity or pandering for votes, but who he really answers to and how he would handle a national crisis if he is the president.

It is frightening to ponder that a president Romney gets that dreaded phone call at 3:00 a.m. in the morning that there is a national emergency or attack on America, and he has check with whomever or whatever group he answers to before acting. Would he call the RNC, Pentagon, oil industry, Bain Capital, consider the best interests of the American people, Koch brothers, or put in a call to the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to learn what he should do to fulfill prophecies in the Book of Mormon? It is a serious and prescient question because his first allegiance is not to his country, investors, or political party, but to the First Presidency which he swears loyalty and obedience first and foremost. Or does he make a determination on the merits and then change his mind because of a revelation after prayer and supplication?

Plus, he wants to put us in another war - i.e. Iran. He said he had the authorization as 'president' to call the war vs having to go through Congress. Sound familiar as to a previous president?

Hopefully, the American people have learned and know that we CANNOT afford another war - we've been in continual wars for years now and they (Republicans) have to be stopped!!!

The GOP knows that Meh Romney doesn't have a chance at the White House. It will shift its focus on retaining the House and gaining the Senate.

I have endorsed Millard "Mittens" Willard Rmoney for president in 2012 and here's why. Mittens has a secret weapon that will guarantee his victory in November: On Day One of the first of many, many Rmoney administrations to come, President Millard will simply pick up the phone and tell the Chinese to immediately return the millions of jobs Rmoney outsourced from Amercia during his reign of terror at Pain Capital. He destroyed millions of Amercian jobs and he can undestroy them just as easily.

You can read the details of this plan - tho, who am I kidding? There are no details - in the Rmoney campaign white paper called "Fifty Thousand Executive Actions President And Handsome Business Genius Mittens Rmoney Will Take On Day One to Instantly Restore Amercia To Its Former Greatness And Supremacy In The World After Being Decimated By Barack Obama." also known by its acronym T.A.L.K. I.S. C.H.E.A.P.

We need to make sure all those in favor of President Obama get out and vote and get the proper docs prior to going to the polls in their particular state!

Romney just makes me want to barf! He is so uncomfortable when shown on TV 'trying' to associate w/the common folk! His laugh is not natural, he doesn't answer questions, gives no plans as to 'his' presidency and on and on. All he does is slam President Obama - much the same as Palin did and does! He looks like a cold, cold fish!

R money can't relate to people. He doesn't know what a donut is, he has no clear plan except for the ryan plan, and he refuses to take questions from the press.

We want a President of the United States, not a president of Fox News.

I'm doing whatever I can to help get President Obama reelected.

I live in Pennsylvania, and the crossroads ads are on constantly. But when an ad for the President comes on, it truly stands out because it's usually on the issues, and not just attacking Rmoney.
