As many of you remember on Friday President Obama gave an important speech about a change in our immigration policy.
During that speech a Daily Caller douchebag interrupted the President, which should have completely embarrassed the "news organization" he was representing.
But of course it was the Daily Caller so they were not embarrassed, they were just glad somebody was talking about them, and actually knew they existed.
So the Editor-in-Chief, Tucker Carlson, defended his employee in the following manner:
“I don’t remember Diane Sawyer scolding her colleague Sam Donaldson for heckling President Reagan. And she shouldn’t have. A reporter’s job is to ask questions and get answers. Our job is to find out what the federal government is up to. Politicians often don’t want to tell us. A good reporter gets the story. We’re proud of Neil Munro.”
Okay hang on a second I have to fight back the bile bubbling up in the back of my throat. Here let me clear it a little, "Fucknozzle!" There I feel better now.
Well as you cannot help but imagine, THIS did not sit too well with Sam Donaldson, a much admired and well espected reporter, who NEVER interrupted Ronald Reagan when he was covering the White House.
Here is his response, courtesy of the Huffington Post:
"I like Tucker (let all flowers bloom) but I really resent his trying to tie his reporter’s actions to mine," Donaldson wrote in an email to The Huffington Post. "He knows better."
"Never once did I interrupt a president in any way while he was making a formal statement, a speech, honoring awardees or in any other way holding the floor. Yes, almost always when he was finished in the Rose Garden or in the Briefing Room or at a photo opportunity with other world leaders I tried to question him (only rarely was it a shout on the rope line, more often a more normal tone of voice) and other reporters of course did the same thing along with me.
What this man did yesterday is something new, to me wrong and unusual. I think it is probably the result of the growing incivility of the times, the competition among reporters and news organizations to be noticed not only for the work product but for the theatrics of the gathering…and there is one more factor, let’s face it: Many on the political right believe this president ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices and political view but for who he is, an African American! These people and perhaps even certain news organizations (certainly the right wing talkers like Limbaugh) encourage disrespect for this president. That is both regrettable and adds, in this case, to the general dislike of the press on the part of the general public."
"For Tucker Carlson to say that he would if he can give this man a raise for this rude attempt to interrupt the president is reflective of what I’ve said above and, to me, lowers my opinion of Tucker."
If I may paraphrase Mr. Donaldson's thoughts here, what he is essentially saying is, "Go fuck yourself you arrogant bow-tied, journalistic impaired racist asshole!"
I'm pretty sure that is what he meant.
As you can probably tell I am still steaming over what happened on Friday, and Carlson's pathetic attempt to rationalize it just pisses me off even further.
So I decided to look for something to make me feel better. And I found it.
(P.S. the link above will take you to a YouTube video of Jon Stewart's appearance on Tucker's old show, Crossfire, after which they essentially pulled the program off the air. Good times!)
When Sarah Palin gets around to congratulating Neil Munro, and she will, someone should ask her what her reaction would have been if a reporter had yelled out a question or jibe at her during one of her state of the state addresses, or at an energy speech, or in the middle of her resignation speech.
ReplyDeleteWould it make a difference if it weren't someone from the "lamestream," but from The Daily Caller?
How would she handle it, and would the "reporter" have a right to interupt her? Is that good journalism?
What about doing the same to Mitt Romney? Should it be an open free-for-all at any and all events?
I'd like to hear the occasional audience member shout "You lie!" during one of Sarah's speeches.
DeleteShe'd pee her pants.
Wow...once you started, you'd have to yell it after every sentence, assuming you could tell where that was. That would make a great SNL skit!
DeleteWhen those loons out on the lake interrupted Palin's Quit speech back in July 2009, I'm surprised Quitter Dude didn't pull out his Beretta and blast them out of the water.
DeleteBut he probably has worse aim than Mama Grizzled.
It would be interesting if someone did speak up with some pointed questions about where all of her PAC money went and her her husband's alternate business, if you know what I mean. The expressions on her face might prove more interesting than usual.

Gryphen, Neil Munro is actually Irish and he is working in the US on a Green Card. He isn't even eligible to vote. The irony of him interrupting the president to ask why PO favours foreign workers over Americans is incredible!
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! He is an immmigrant himself. WTF?
Deletehttp://www.examiner.com/article/hypocrite-tea-party-reporter-who-heckled-obama-on-immigration-isn-t-an-american
I noticed that too. Perhaps someone should hit that jerk and his employer up with that question at the first public opportunity?

Sam Donaldson is absolutely right. THis man's behavior was totaly unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteJust the name "Munro" to me brings up unwanted visions of a man who doesn't bathe often enough, has crotch crickets and dingleberries in addition to that.
ReplyDeleteIt's entirely appropriate that he would be employed by a digital bottom-feeding tabloid run by the likes of Tucker Carlson. Birds of a feather....
I guess these people have no integrity at all. I never liked Tucker.
ReplyDeleteGood statement by Sam Donaldson.
ReplyDeleteI hear the ignorant so-called reporter is not an American citizen. He's working on a green card. Bastard has the gall to be disrespecting our president.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the President of Ireland thought of this?? President Obama is part Irish and the Irish people LOVE him, so I'm sure Neil is in for some harsh words the next time he's 'home' and steps into a pub. No pot of gold there ... And in the first picture, Sam Donaldson looks like he's saying "Back off, Mother-tucker!! You are NOT like me in any way!"
ReplyDeleteSo after 4 years of Teabaggers with misspelled signs, guns and vituperative language -- of Joe Wilson's douchebaggery, Jan Brewer's bony finger and Donald Trump's Birther vendetta -- of Sarah Palin's Death Panels and crosshairs, could we PLEASE give our beyond-patient and awesome President a (drum roll) Democratic LANDSLIDE!!!!??
Michael D. Higgins has already called Palin and the teabaggers "wankers." :)
DeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteO/T, but Rodney "Can't we just all get along?" King just died. RIP Mr. King. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteI felt so sad when the news broke.
DeleteHis words and grace while facing his demons in the aftermath are the gifts he left.
RIP, Mr. King
That Crossfire piece shows exactly how intelligent and serious Jon Stewart is. The other two were asses, especially Tucker Carlson. They claimed the other guy was from the left? Really. Left of what? Slightly left of Tucker Carlson? Because you were looking at two right wing guys hammering Jon Stewart and he still came out on top.
ReplyDeleteYou can also see why Tucker Carlson is defending and even praising Neil Munro. Tucker spent the show interrupting Jon Stewart for no other reason than to hear his own voice. So you've got a Douche for a boss supporting a douche for an employee.
Yeah, I hope the White House Correspondents Association pulls the press passes of all The Daily Caller's reporters and they no longer have White House access. They will not behave. They see nothing wrong with what they did and they will not stop. The only way to stop them is to ban them.
Donaldson is right. It's not about the politics. It's about the 50 Shades of Tan.
Was that picture taken while he was in the act of disrespectfully interrupting the President's remarks? Standing there, with his hands in his pockets? What about having a notepad, like the guy right next to him?
ReplyDeleteThis is what it was: an attempt to get the President to react poorly, providing a sound bite that could be used throughout the campaign. Remember the asshole who ambushed Senator Al Franken and called him "Senator Smalley?" They are trying to provoke a response, but naturally Senator Franken and President Obama are too classy to oblige their bush-league (no pun intended) tactics.
The response to this incident is simple: toss this guy's ass to the curb. He gets no more access to White House press events. And at every future event, the members of the press are notified that they will be told when they can ask questions. Anyone who opens they yap before then is grabbed by the Secret Service and escorted the hell out. Period.
Very funny comments and thought balloons with this guy photo shopped on several pictures of famous people, scenes, etc from history.

Get em Sam! This stupid ass reporter has made himself the NEWS... and now the Bloggers are climbing in his ass with a flashlight and finding out ALL kinds of interesting things! Betcha he didn't count on that! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteJudge Judy snaps "Get your hands out of your pockets" why isn't our President awarded the same respect? Tucker Carlson is a JOKE, he is no journalist, just a bow-tied waste of space. His mother married a wealthy guy who probably will pay any amount to get Tucker (what a HELL of a name, who calls their kid that?) out of the house. Carlson is a JOKE, always was, always will be. Still a frat boy, like Romney and W. Wealthy parents seem to fall down on the job of raising responsible sons who grow into MEN, don't they? They should lose access since they have abused the privilege. Allowing this reporter from this blog ro attend briefings just makes them appear legitimate, and they are NOT.
ReplyDeleteI love Jon Stewart calling him a dick. But this is my all-time favorite quote about Fucker Carlson.
ReplyDeleteStart at the 4:29 mark.
What an awful mess
Like "publisher," like reporter.
Begs the question: Would Tucker be a normal person had he gotten laid in high school?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that if Tucker had actually gotten laid, there would've been criminal charges filed against him for date rape. Probably controlled substances, also, too, because this weanie couldn't have subdued a woman without slipping her a roofie.
DeleteTHANK YOU, Sam Donaldson! Finally, someone in the MSM is calling the right out on their thinly veiled racism. I am so sick of all the bullshit that we as a nation have had to endure just because a bunch of white racist fucktards (sound familiar, mitch mcconnell?) cannot stand the fact that our president is not "one of them." "Holy shit, he's black? Let's trash the economy! Holy shit, he's black? Let's say "you lie" and make him present his long form and be completely disrespectful and make disgusting bumper stickers about re-nigging."
ReplyDeleteAfter the monumentally disastrous 8 years of the cheny/bush presidency the right should be on their knees begging forgiveness for the insanely diseased, ideological steaming pile of fetid feces that they dumped on the US. Instead, they just turn up the knob labeled "stupid" to a deafening "11" and plow forth with their corporate funded, greed and fear fueled agenda.
For those who might be interested, the url below is for images of a bunch of famous speeches and/or events being interrupted by Neil Monro, scumbag reporter, with stupid or insulting comments/questions.
ReplyDeleteNot all of them are that great but there are a couple of pretty good ones.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002815391
Hey, mebbe Trump's cadre of Hawaiian operatives have joined them. Then, again, mebbe not. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteIt's time to start calling out those hateful bigots, Palin Rush, Malkin and ilk have been stirring up the ugly underbelly of our Country for far too long, as time goes they only grow more emboldened because they can, time to take off the gloves, they call Democracts weak because that's how they perceive non violent reasonable people, they are suspicious of calls for civility thinking there's an ulterior motive, the far right fringe hatred of a black intelligent man in the WH will only intensify, I fear for us when he is re-elected, these people have guns.
ReplyDeleteThere is the name for Bristle's next child - TUCKER!! Perfect, as long as she does not slip up and call him something else. McCain still insists that $carah was a great choice for VP and I have figured out why. He wanted to lose, the mess left by Cheney/W was too much for repubs. to clean up. So he chose the most stupid, unqualified woman he could find. It worked, thank Gawd. This is why the field of repb. candidates was so thin.
ReplyDeleteWell, judging from the paylump family naming scheme any name loaded with hard consonants is fair game. Here's my picks:
DeleteGlort
Trukt
Klicker
Trondar
Spit
Tlbpttst.
See serror? You're covered for the next batch of "wild rides" unless, of course, your "baby" has congenital cataracts. But "Cat" is kinda cute, right serror?
Friends, please click on Gryphen's "I found it" link above.

Tucker Carlson to John Stewart:
"I do think you're more fun on your show. Just my opinion."
John Stewart's reply:
"You know what's interesting, though? You're as big a dick on your show as you are on any show."
Priceless!!
Policy statements in the Rose Garden by any president are very seldom news conferencee. The President makes it clear after the statement whether he will be accepting questions. If I know this, why does someone working in the profession not know? Rude, uninformed, unprofessional, generally stupid, which pretty much describes the far right/TP thugs.
ReplyDeleteMunro is really Carlson in drag.
ReplyDeleteNotice he doesn't have any recording device, perhaps that's all he was there to do -- not to report the news, but to make news.
ReplyDeleteI'm still seething over it. This idiot wasn't there to report, No reporter does not take notes nor plays pocket pool while interrupting a speech, his sole purpose was to disrespect the Office and the Commander-in-Chief. Mr. Donaldson deserves props for setting the record straight and pointing out it was a melanin issue and NOT "journalism".
ReplyDeleteTucker's STILL in the spin cycle.
Thanks for the link to Jon Stewart. That man took on these two right wing wingnuts (yeah, like one took "the left's" side. Left of who?). Stewart smacked them both down, calmly and with the facts.
I'm almost positive Tucker IS a "tucker" with his gonads pushed up inside his body and his micropenis taped securely with duct tape. Someone should rip it off and cover Munro's mouth with it.
Did I mention I'm still seething?
For some reason... this Vid comes to mind.

props to donaldson! great statement.
ReplyDeleteLove the crossfire footage! What a dweeb.
ReplyDeleteDon Lemon of CNN had a blistering commentary re: this entire situation. I was half asleep after midnight this past night when Mr. Lemon started, so I was unable to record it. I extremely hate the phrase "tore someone a new one," but Mr. Lemon certainly "tore" Neil Munroe and Tucker Carlson "new ones." If anyone finds this commentary of Mr. Lemon's, please leave a URL. Thanks.
