Is Ronald Reagan worthy of Republican deification? Not even close.

Here is the problem with history, the further away from the actual event the more easily it is to reshape it to fit a certain groups agenda.

The Republicans REALLY want all of us to believe that Ronnie did everything short of walking across water (And trust me, that's coming!), but unfortunately for them there are still plenty of us still around who remember what Reagan was REALLY like.

And believe me he was NO god.

Ummmmm, I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but the link you have to support an anti-Reagan deification is ah, to say the least, psychotic. Or to put it nicely, at the very least, it doesn't come off in a reasoned manner.

It's wingnut territory and does little to argue the merits of a flawed Presidency.

Political party doesn't matter in terms of psychopathic actions, but it's not shocking that James Holmes was dragged away by cops at a San Diego Occupy Wall St event. It's the action of being escorted by the authorities because you cannot conduct yourself like a mature human being. These crazies make decent protesters and good democrats and republicans look lousy.

I can remember Regan i couldn't stand him. That's when all the gains that my husband had made at work , started to end. Give back to the corp. I remember him sleeping through meetings . I remember the illeagle arms sales. The so called Granada war. I remember them canculting physics before doiong anything against biblical standards. Nancy ran the show. Who could see the president and not How close they were to the Hollywood rat pack . This is a time when all the retired washington ppl really got into selling arms to all the countries. Nancy and her dress scandles. They called him the teflon president because all these bad things were just let go. What if President Obama did any of these thuings? we would never hear the end of it.

Reagan was personable and had likeable qualities. Unfortunately he was not all there at the end. "Ronald Reagan Guilty of Treason & War Crimes" may not be something anyone wants to read but I wouldn't say it is "psychotic" or "wing nut territory." Too bad people forget things like Ollie North and just how much of a front a president like Reagan was at that time. I only knew about some of the sex situations that went on and were well hidden. I never knew of Reagan as a participant, he would be more like Joe Paterno. I did know others in the Reagan cabinet and about their sordid lives.
Others had a different view http://www.bartcop.com/reagan-rapist.htm
Alfred and Betsy Bloomingdale were in the press but did a good job with damage control. http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id289.htm

More important then the sex capades that went down at the time was the whole Iran-Contra affair. Too bad if history is not deligent and the public has a black out. Some of the worst criminals of modern time and many went on to Fox News. The criminals protected by Reagan did not have to do enough time in the pokey nor did the courts give them what they had coming. Too bad b/c now they are just making up history and the fake Reagan myths are damaging. This country needs more truth, including about our history.

When it comes to saints and such, it doesn't take much to bring one down. Do da name Joe Paterno mean anything to you? He was a staunch Reagan-Bush-Bush supporter, too.

    Not a saint.

Thankfully Joe Paterno will have his halo removed. It is a crime against history that we can't have the same by way of the truth about Ronald Reagan. The American people are really short change and dumbed down When it comes to the whole Reagan gang. Going on to become stars on Faux news gave them status they do not deserve.

More James Brady would have made America less psychotic.

Reagan had one of the most corrupt administrations in history. Over 100 people arrested and indited. Journalists say they went to The White House and were told Reagan wouldn't know them and wouldn't be able to answer ?? but to keep in hidden. His schedule was run by Nancy's astrologer.Shortly after he left office Barbara Walters interviewed him and asked him a question and he responded with a rambling answer about abortion. I can't remember what the ? was but it had nothing to do with abortion. Ms Walters had this WTF look on her face. Nancy the enabler said "he cares so much about abortion".Even Ron Jr said he knew something was wrong with his dad.And the press hid all this from the public.Disgusting!!!

The GOP had to try and overcome the image Nixon gave them. They went with the bad actor. The meme about Reagan and using him in the current events is disinformation at its most buffoonery. It works because of history revisions and poor memories.

Reagan was shot while being guarded by America's best. They had guns and could use them, they could not stop the bullets. Ask James Brady. How can anyone believe that the citizens and military at the Aurona massacre could have taken out James Holmes who was wearing a suit of armor? Right now most of what is on the tubes about Holmes is nonsense. A few facts, but the red head posts are not yet deemed official. There is not enough information to say what his fascination with Batman was about. There is a theme to make Holmes a Black Bloc, Occupy Wall Street player. It is premature to call that one. Who could possible know details of the infiltration that does go on? It is not particular to this time, check out history.

    Don't pick on Reagan!

He's all they have. Nixon was a crook, so of course they claim he was a closet liberal. Bush the Elder was dull, so that made him a 'RINO'. Bush Jr... well, they don't really talk about him.

Reagan was their Rootin' Tootin' Horse-Riding, Guns-a-Blazing, Real Live Republican President! If he couldn't negotiate with foreign dignitaries, then by God, he could just knock 'em out with one punch to the jaw! USA USA USA!!! Everybody buy a Cadillac! Smoke 'em if ya got 'em! Coors and Budweiser and Boilermakers! Yeehaw!

Reagan gave us a debt greater than all the presidents before him put together. He gave us the street people (homeless) when he cut off all funding to any mental institutions. (He did it first in California as governor.)

He only married Nancy because he had her pregnant. So abstinence Repugs? Is that your example of how it works?

He cut Social Security benefits off at age 18 for children with deceased parents, when it had always been continued to age 21 if the child attended college full time.

The Berlin Wall was already in the process of coming down before Reagan's "famous" demand of Gorbachev.

Just Google yourself about Reagan and his many deceitful/harmful decisions like destroying the union for the air traffic controllers, which still remains in disrepair.

Remember he was instrumental in the union for the actors and served at the head of it for some time.

Strange that the Repugs are so utterly stupid that they don't know about what a toxic toad Reagan was for hurting our country.

They may be right in thinking that there are enough uneducated and uninformed citizens walking around in a daze who believe the man did something good for this country. Not true if you read the accounts of his tenure. He was a disaster and I know it first hand for when he sank the stock market and cost me 25% of my retirement funds.

Twitter these items to your Repug twitterers so they get educated and see how dumb they are if they are praising this worthless icon. (I don't twitter or use other social media.)

It isn't just repugs who deify that monster. Plenty of dems do, too. Obama himself has been complimentary about him. It makes me sick.

I'll never forget election night, 1980. I knew it was the beginning of the end.

    "Well....There you go again!"

We're talking about a man who acted with a chimp!!
Divorced his first wife to marry Red Nancy "psychic friends" Reagan.

Yes, the Ronnie Years were a disaster!

Reaganomics worked well for the rich, of course the GOP gushes at the mention of his name.

Sure he had his "take down this wall" moments, but for me, the whole iran contra thing, denying his involvement then confessing when it was exposed.

His halo rusted way before he was retroactively sainted.
