Just a reminder to take a moment to allow your breath to be taken away by the universe. You're welcome.

This close up, false-color image of the Eagle nebula captures one of its stellar nurseries. The Eagle nebula is about 6,500 light-years from Earth, making it one of our closest stellar nurseries. The XMM-Newton, imaging X-rays, worked in conjunction with Herschel’s far infrared seeing capabilities to capture this stunning image.

Part of why I sometimes share these incredible pictures of our world, and the universe that surrounds it, is to remind us that we do not need to view everything through a religious filter to admire its beauty. In fact, at least in my opinion, its beauty is only diminished by assigning a supernatural force to explain its existence.

The first web site I check every morning is the astronomy picture of the day (APOD: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html ) It starts my day with a smile.

imo a daily space picture helps people to hold perspective on reality. we may not see other galaxies and nebula's every day, but that is what is out there and what is real.

Indeed, there are times when even super science must take a backseat to our wonder with the unknown and magnificent.

    Uncle Gryphen,

You've GOT to watch this documentary video called The Mormon Candidate. I'm completely freaked out by it.
