Mitt Romney has now decided to turn the focus off of his time at Bain Capital to his time "saving" the Olympics. Alrighty then!
You know I NEVER thought I would hear myself saying this, but I think perhaps John McCain DID make the right decision in choosing Sarah Palin over Mitt Romney.
Now if you will excuse me I have to go wash my mouth out with soap.
Different uniforms are made by different countries. The opening/closing outfits, competition outfits, outfits worn for medal awards.
Not only were uniforms outsourced to Myanmar, but also to Canada.

he did the same thing at the Olympics as he did at Bain. He pulled in investors and made big $$$ for his cronies. He ALSO used the government to pony up more funds that all the other Olympic games combined. IOW - he put it on the taxpayers AGAIN while he took a profit along with his friends. standard MO.
I don't care that he got a bailout for the Olympics...I care about the fact that he used his influence to benefit companies that were owned by Bain or that Bain had a share in. One example -- he made a big deal about how board members of the Olympics were getting free lunches...so he started serving pizza and selling slices for $1...guess what? The pizzas were from Dominos and either Bain owned them or had a share. This goes on and on. He gave preferences to Bain affiliates and companies owned by Mormons...
I think it's really offensive that he steps to the microphone, and demands all the credit for the Salt Lake Olympics, when so many people worked so hard to make those games a success.
I always thought that the Mitt as Olympic Savior fairy tale seemed like it was developed for use in Mitten's Republican convention nomination video.
And where did I read that story about Mitt's profanity-laced tirade on a Salt Lake City police officer over a traffic incident? Many f-bombs dropped by Mittens.

I have no doubt that the Mormons FOR SURE gifted Romney this opportunity so he could have a good reason to run for office since his career at Bain failed to impress people in 1994. 1) "If you have a successful business, you didn't build it" 2) "American servicemen are cowardly nancyboys who can't shoot straight" 3) "American white men have teeny tiny peckers and white women are ugly." 4) "I was born in Kenya and worship Satan." 5) "I will personally come to your house and take your guns away."
Don't get your panties in a twist asking for exact dates or complete texts of these statements. The only details you people need to know is that Obama said something very, very close to these statement at some point to some people somewhere for some reason. And, let's face it, even if he didn't actually say these things, he probably wanted to, right?

Olympics' savior may be a notch in Romney's belt, but only in a temporary profitable way for the State of Utah. From the sounds of it though, the State is still in an economic downswing and real estate and construction is an all-time low; so what the Olympics did for it, is debatable.

Knowing the prices of tickets, that didn't buy much. Add the fact that -- Whose's kids?? Were the tickets then provided to his cronies?? Kids of Utah only as if it was kids elsewere and even in Utah, they need transportation too. Would be nice if proof is available where the tickets went to.
I saw that, it was earmark money meant for the Special Olympians, he was crowing like a rooster how the federal Government just handed the governor millions of dollars, and thus, saved the state all that money, and they got to bring the kids.
Karen, if R really did sign an assault weapons ban, it would be the very first thing I have read/heard of this man that I can approve of. Well, actually the second one, if the MA healthcare law really works for its citizens.
Full disclosure: I am for stringent gun regulation and single payer, i. e. Medicare for all or some similar way of providing health care for all citizens while limiting the obscene profits of Big Pharma and the rest of the biomedical/industrial complex. Wall Street Journal is saying that Mittens signed a permanent ban in 2004, which makes it confusing as the first link shows 1998. It makes reference to the federal law expiring in 2004 and But then -- I don't trust the WSJ. I see it as Mittens signing a law for appearance sake only.

The 2010 year released was incomplete. The supporting documents were not included. Therefore 2010 disclosure was incomplete.
2011 was only an estimate and shortly thereafter he filed for an extension. He has still not filed for 2011 -- therefore any numbers given are estimates only.
So -- Romney's only provided I'll say about .7 of tax returns. Estimates -- useless and unreliable.
Meh when it comes to Mitt implying he was saving anything for everyone.
Mitt was in it for the ego boost, prestige, his being a control queen. Also, as usual, Mitt was in it especially for money and for himself, Bain and some Mormons (and some others non-Mormons) making money off of the Olympics.
Along with anyone he had to pay off or bribe. Locally, state, USA, internationally (and on the Olympic Committee and other higher ups).
Mitt can't talk about his religion. Can't talk about his days as governor of MA. Can't talk about Bain. Refuses to show his tax returns. Abused his dog. Sold a doped up, lame horse to someone and had to settle out of court with her. So he runs to talk about the Olympics knowing that the real story of how he handled the Olympics would show he profited off of taxpayer money. I'm beginning to think he's not too bright even though he made a lot of money. Ann's not too bright either.
How he made his money is easy. 1. Start a private equity firm using $$$ from your rich parents and their rich friends. 2. Hire a smart lawyer and accountant to help you figure out loopholes then hire some other smart people to figure out what companies are vulnerable. 3. Take credit.
In 1988, I along with cousins were in Paris for 2 days and it happened to be the last day of the race. We had absolutely no idea about the race happening when we made plans. It was only when we walked up the street on the day we arrived and everything was set up that we realized. Duh!!! Have to say though, to watch it was exciting and to watch it now, reminds me of my few days in Paris!!

Mitt can't talk about his religion. Can't talk about his days as governor of MA. Can't talk about Bain. Refuses to show his tax returns. Abused his dog. Sold a doped up, lame horse to someone and had to settle out of court with her. So he runs to talk about the Olympics knowing that the real story of how he handled the Olympics would show he profited off of taxpayer money. I'm beginning to think he's not too bright even though he made a lot of money.

Delete1. Start a private equity firm using $$$ from your rich parents and their rich friends.
2. Hire a smart lawyer and accountant to help you figure out loopholes then hire some other smart people to figure out what companies are vulnerable.
3. Take credit.

ReplyDeleteIn 1988, I along with cousins were in Paris for 2 days and it happened to be the last day of the race. We had absolutely no idea about the race happening when we made plans. It was only when we walked up the street on the day we arrived and everything was set up that we realized. Duh!!! Have to say though, to watch it was exciting and to watch it now, reminds me of my few days in Paris!!
That one's gonna leave a mark! I love how it ends with the words "the American Taxpayer" on the screen as the torch is raised. Fantastic DNC ad!
