Early morning hypocrisy alert!

Stop trying to give us money, until I tell you to give us money!
Courtesy of Bloomberg News:

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who has criticized Barack Obama for excessive federal spending, said the president isn’t providing enough funding to cover the costs of Hurricane Isaac.

Jindal, a 41-year-old Republican, said in a Baton Rouge news briefing today that he sent a letter of complaint to the Democratic president.

“You can’t wait, you have to push the federal bureaucracy,” he said.

Jindal wrote yesterday evening that Isaac requires “extraordinary emergency protective measures” and “full federal assistance for the state.” The president’s emergency declaration doesn’t provide for reimbursement of state expenses, only for “direct federal assistance,” Jindal wrote.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the goal of the initial declaration was to get federal aid out immediately. “We’ll continue to work with state officials to provide any unmet needs,” he told reporters today. “There will be time to explore if additional declarations are necessary.”

Bobby Jindal when weather is calm in Louisiana, "We don't need any Federal dollars!"

Bobby Jindal when hurricane approaches Louisiana, "Where the hell are those Federal dollars?"

Of course the money that Jindal is asking for might not have even been available if Paul Ryan had gotten his way:

The confluence of soon-to-be Hurricane Isaac, the anniversary of Katrina, and the Republican National Convention is a big problem for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, not just because of the optics of having a big, lavish red-white-and-blue party while the Gulf Coast gets hammered again. It's also because of the recent history of Republicans to cut the agencies that deal with predicting and responding to natural disasters to the bone.

But more specifically, vice-president-nominee-to-be Paul Ryan tried to cut a new disaster aid program championed by President Obama that "budgets help for victims of hurricanes, tornadoes and floods before they occur."

You know it's not so much the humidity caused by the hurricane, it's the irony.

One must need an advanced brain to understand irony, and no one in the GOP has evolved that far yet.
Speaking of which, Kirk Adams lost by double digits. Come on Sarah, endorse Mitt.

    1. Isn't that 4 candidates in a row that Sarah has pulled down to defeat? Sounds like it's becoming more a habit than a trend.

Instead of having Sarah endorse them in upcoming primaries and general elections, the smart baggers (oxymoron, I know) are going to quit answering Sarah's calls and just let them go straight to voice mail.

Cap'n, she's taking on water fast! What say ye?

The mighty USS Sarah, once the pride of the Teapublican Bagger Party, will now be consigned to posterity on the ocean floor. Man the lifeboats. Abandon the ship.
      Remain calm, all is well.

      Bless her heart.

The GOP seems to have an enormously disproportionate number of the worlds hypocrites. They lie, cheat, and steal all the while wearing the mantle of "holier than thou." They love using their "religiosity" to fool the dopes. They also openly embrace the mantra of 'I got mine... F you". That said, I will offer a praise of Jindal... he is an arrogant snake. I will never forget his "Mister Rogers" address to the nation. He thinks we are all low IQ, low information children. He confuses us with his base.

Bobby Jindahl is nothing more than a dickhead. Someone should send him a condom to protect him from himself.

Same with secession. They don't talk about it as much during hurricane season.

They don't need us until they need us.

They'll stay for now. After Obama wins another term, next spring they'll toy with secession again. While staying in the USA as it pays so well to stay in the USA.

    Alabama and South Carolina: Oink!

They're already net taker states who could never stand on their own as they love that socialized welfare which comes from DC and other higher taxed, net giver, states.

Or at least, not a dime more than they paid in. And since they oppose unions and a fair living wage, I'm assuming they don't pay in very much. Saw a chart with the insane Right To Work (for pennies) laws in place. Almost all in the South. Poverty Central, thanks to the GOP.

  7. Hey, it's Bobby's World, everybody! HI, BOBBY! (...douchebag...)

It's also the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew. (Thanks, 82nd Airborne Division!!)

We used to say during Miami's long hot damp summers, "It's not the heat, it's the stupidity". No one knows why we said that or to whom we said it, but there you are, nevertheless.

Remember Jindal in 2009 was the GOP response to the State of the Union Speech by President Obama.

Jindal was put on the perch as the 'next one to rise'. We of course knew why they were dangling him out there -- he was their 'semi-token one'. Like Palin was the response to Hillary.

Remember what Jindal said in his mega bad speech -- that we don't need no freakin' volcano monitoring equipment in AK. More wasteful spending.

Voila -- the Volcano erupted the following week.

Jindal tanked faster than he rose.

And yet, he is still there, blabbering away while the Coast Guard is saving people that he couldn;t be bothered to evacuate. People up north don't realize that when you are really poor and in a city, you do not have a car. And since the GOP is also against mass transit, there aren't many busses either. So these folks hole up in their homes while the water rises. Then the Federal Government, the evil empire, is called in (no, ORDERED in) by the GOP Governnors who never learn from the past unless it was before the Civil War.

Oh no, you misunderstand the philosophy of the GOP!

He doesn't believe in volcano monitoring because there are no volcanoes in Louisiana. Why should the federal government pay for something HE doesn't need?

And he's all for FEMA and federal funds pouring into LA to pay for THEIR storm damage. He just doesn't want any of those emergency funds to go to OTHER states because they're just not as worthy as his state is!

It's all about the basic mantra of the GOP: I want/got mine...screw everyone else.

I am sooo over these demagogues! I won't enumerate the ways they are wrong, because that would be preaching to the choir on this site, YEAH!
It's the ole: Don't confuse me with facts, my mind's made up! Give the guilty bastard a fair trial and hang him... ain't nothin' new here. These people are toxic!

This is exactly the problem with the no-abortion, no federal assistance, no food stamp Republicans:

that philosophy lasts only as long as they don't need it.

The wealthy have always gotten abortions when the rest of the country couldn't and they will again if our rights are stripped away.

They go into every hospital in the nation, even those that claim they do not do abortions and get a D&C or a D&E, which, in effect are ABORTIONS!

  11. Paul Ryan isn't the only impediment to satisfying Bobby Jindal's quest for Federal dollars -- there's one of the Teaparty 2010 Reps, Raul Labrador, shooting off his mouth about hostage-taking again:

I just love the hypocrisy. Shrink government and let States have more power, but when the shit hits the fan, not only do the hands go out, but they complain they're not greased fast enough.
