Well no wonder the Republicans are trying to destroy the Unions.

Courtesy of People's World:

The AFL-CIO's executive council on Thursday gave final approval to a plan to deploy at least 400,000 union members to work on the re-election of President Obama, keeping the Senate out of the hands of the GOP and taking the House back from Republican control.

The plan was announced here by Jeff Hausner, who emphasized he was speaking with the full authority of the labor federation.

If unions succeed in deploying that number of volunteers, it will be what one labor leader described as the "biggest army of ground troops we have ever put out for an election." In 2008, when President Obama was elected, unions turned out 250,000 volunteers nationwide.

As Democrats and liberals we can NEVER hope to outspend the Republicans, but we CAN mobilize more people, and garner more votes. Let's just hope that it is enough to offset their underhanded attempts to steal yet ANOTHER election.

I now I am going to do everything in my power to help reelect this President and to put as many Democrats in office as possible.

Will you do the same?

I find it a sad statements on your blog when your readers favorite posts to comment on are ones you write out of hate. Those comments illustrate your readers as superficial and callous. I'm not sure why you're proud to display that.

And about Nasa. How would the organization fare if this admin's budget cuts took effect? Why did the majority of America not know Nasa was pursuing Mars exploration in this manner?

Hmmm. But by all means, continue to defend corrupt unionhood.

Hey, Gryphen IS NOT defending the corrupt unionhood of the Republican party - which is the party of Country Last, the party of deceit and ineptitude, and the party of regressive, repressive, recessive agendas.

Let's vote Democratic all the way and all across the board, so that this country can move forward and serve all its citizens.

Unions are corrupt??????? What about the entire GOP? Rigging elections. The GOP operates with tunnel vision. Unions simply want to re-elect President Obama because he will not cause their demise. Pres. Obama cut off funding for moon exploration, not Mars. If the GOP gets control, you can kiss off the USA, except for the 1 or 2%.

Also, your opening word-salad sentence is difficult to understand.

But, tell ya what, kiddo: You go create your own blog, where you can scrub all the "naughty" comments until it's been sanitized to your liking, and feel free to stay away from this blog. After all, we wouldn't want your delicate sensitivities compromised, would we? There, there... go get yourself a cookie and some milk and go look at funny kitties on YouTube. PS ... it's pathetically amusing how those pretend so-called free speech types on right wing blogs delete out any other speech that doesn't match their limited world view or narrow talking points.

I don't see Gryphen (or other or progressive or liberal people elsewhere) censoring people, unless it's about tea people doing hate or promoting violence.

If any of us had replied to you on a right wing blog, all of our comments would have been deleted by now. The USA tea hates civil discussion, logic, reason, enlightenment, people who have manners, and more, what we progressives and liberals do, do, try to understand yet at some point, it's a lost cause.

I've had libertarians and republicans lecture me over the years. Since the 1970s. I'm not some stupid child. Talk to me as an adult. Also don't talk to me as a righteous person who can only back themselves up by bullying, with a fist, or via the end of a gun pointed in my direction. Oh yeah, and Sarah's survey marks, ha, what bullshit she tries to pass off with her tea dog whistles and lies.

I'll pretty much be voting straight Dem in November. I don't see any Repubs running for office (nationally, statewide or locally) that I would support. I can remember being able to find candidates on both sides I could support, but now that the Tea Party has infiltrated the GOP, I've become even more wary of their candidates (even if they're not Tea Party darlings).

On a side note: I should know better than to watch early-morning cable news. After I woke up, I turned on MSNBC... on Morning Joe, there was Joe Scarborough singing the praises of Sarah Palin... switched to Fox and they were interviewing some WorldNetDaily conspiracy theorist as if he were sane... and on CNN, they were interviewing "Honey Boo Boo". Good Grief, it was enough to make me want to go back to bed and pull the covers over my head.

Ahem, have you ever gone on any right wing blog site and read the comments there. Yet we're superficial and callous, when we call the USA tea taliban out on their bull droppings and them standing up on their foundations built out their egos yet nothing else of substance other than they can fling poop everywhere and talk about how messy politics and discourse is now (while they have NO honesty, lack any integrity, ethics, morals, etc).

All the tea party people have is hate of anything or whom is non-white, non-Christian, not a male and not straight (though it's questionable as to how straight they are when they're obsessed about all that is gay, umm, and they call it research or a tax write off while they raise more money for their cause, sure, uh huh, they're so straight. Me: huge laugh).

Ha, I think you should talk about the tea obstructionists in DC and elsewhere when it comes to science. Who've done all they can to gut NASA and other (actual science) scientific programs. Go back to the W and Cheney good old days for cuts too. Since W could talk a good talk, yet never raised money for the things he promised unless it was getting out his Bank of China credit card and charging more to future generations for more tax cuts or GOP pet causes (more wars).

While they protect some fluff pretending to be science and it's all about religion pretending to be more than a fairy tale story (creationism, (un)intelligent design and more). Not doing stem cell research is pro-life. What bull droppings crap, again, the GOP pandering to the pretend pro-life people, who are more anti-life than anything about living, being alive, having a quality life for everyone, etc.

And not all unions are corrupt. Yet nice try, you flinging tea poop at a lot of subjects and hoping something would stick and cause us to clean up your mess. Nah, now I let it stick there as winds are shifting and you'll get your blowback from people tired of the tea being so anti-USA. Enjoy the fall into eventual obscurity and non-relevance. As not enough white people such as myself are having children nor children to be future GOP/tea members.

So buh bye, false patriot wrapped up in a flag and carrying a cross. If your Rmoney gets in as POTUS, we'll have Mitt outsourcing NASA or selling it to another country. Ah, he'll do more than that, he'd outsource the whole country to foreign concerns and sell off what he can. Anyone want to buy some USA nuclear weapons? They're on sale today, cheap.

Being a citizen of another country, there really isn't anything I can do to help the President serve another term. We can only hope that the citizens of your country realize the consequences of giving their vote to Romney; not only for the United States of America, but for the rest of the world as well. You would think that the Bush debacle would have opened the eyes of the voting public, however, it appears that there is still a segment of the population that shows no hesitation at all in accepting ignorance and ineptitude in their leader as long as it comes wrapped up in the American flag.

Brutal New Ad Blames Mitt Romney For Death Of Steelworker’s Wife

'I don’t think Mitt Romney understands what he’s done to people’s lives by closing the plant.

I don’t think he realizes that people’s lives completely changed.

When Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my healthcare, and my family lost their healthcare. And a short time after that my wife became ill.

I don’t know how long she was sick and I think maybe she didn’t say anything because she knew that we couldn’t afford the insurance, and then one day she became ill and I took her up to the Jackson County Hospital and admitted her for pneumonia and that’s when they found the cancer and by then it was stage four. It was, there was nothing they could do for her.

And she passed away in 22 days.

I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he’s done to anyone, and furthermore I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned.'

Romney’s refusal to release his tax returns is sending conservatives over the edge. They especially can’t take seeing a Republican on the defensive. They are so used to playing offense that they simply can’t cope when the tables are turned. Their big solution to this dilemma is to put Obama on the defense by demanding his college transcripts, as if college transcripts were the equivalent of tax returns.

Glenn Beck’s site The Blaze assures us that Romney should demand Obama’s college transcripts in exchange for Romney’s tax returns because there’s a big scandal in Obama’s college transcripts. You’d think Beck would be the fringe by now, but his crazy talking points have already found root, with conservatives demanding the college transcripts with their usual barely-contained, smug aggression.

Exclusive: Brigham Young’s Great-Great-Granddaughter on Mormonism and Mitt Romney

A direct descendant of Brigham Young, Sue Emmett left the church because of the very values she says would make Romney a frightening president

    ...
As for what pundits say is Romney's difficulty connecting with people, Emmett blames it largely on what she calls “the entitled Mormon male syndrome, where the leadership professes compassion and concern but leaves the manifestations of that to the drones. All male leadership is not this way; there are some wonderful men who do their best to exercise their power compassionately, but many do not.”

Emmett says Romney was a bishop, “a position where everyone defers to you. What a bishop says goes. People come to them to receive blessings.” He then became a stake president, she says, which means he presided over several congregations, and at that point bishops deferred to him.

“Mitt has had people defer to him and not challenge him his entire life,” says Emmett. “In the Mormon church if you challenge your priesthood leaders it’s a very bad thing to do, especially for women. As the world can now see, Mitt has a very hard time with being questioned and criticized; he’s had so little of this in his life."

A Scared Romney Tries to Drive Wedge Between Obama and Clinton with New Ad

Mitt Romney is desperately trying to change the conversation from his refusal to release his tax returns and discuss what his tax policy would mean for 98% of Americans to any attack his campaign can manufacture against President Obama.

Meanwhile, the Romney whine tour about Harry Reid’s claim that someone told him that Romney hasn’t paid taxes in ten years is looking weaker and weaker. After all, if Rommey places such high value on honesty, how does he explain these ads? Does he really not understand the laws and policies, or is he lying on purpose? Neither reflects well on him.

Romney’s attempt to drive a wedge between Clinton, who will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention, and Obama with this ad is almost stunning in its ignorance and failure to see what’s right in front of his face. If Romney really thinks that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama’s relationship is that precarious, he hasn’t been paying attention. The bond between the former President and the current President took a while to develop, but they are a formidable team. It’s no wonder Romney wants to divide and conquer.

Romney’s inability to grasp the complexities of policy and the agendas behind forged bonds is troubling, but then, we already got a preview of this weird quirk during his Mitt the Twit tour. Once again, we see a Mitt Romney who is used to calling the shots and therefor can’t implement any sort of long-term political strategy let alone manage a few general meet and greets.
