What is YOUR impression, based on what you already know?
When a helpless little boy reaches out for his daddy, what kind of guy curls his fist and walks ahead of the kid? Oh, right, he's a Palin and this is some kind of wierd publicity shot or something. I'm sure it's something little Trig is used to- poor boy.
With all do respect, I found this picture very touching. Todd - lets call him "dad" - and Trig are exchanging fist Bumps while walking. The "fist bump" is a common gesture, it is not a measure of disrespect or "meanness".
Fist bump my ass!! I see a father walking ahead of a child, he's completely oblivious to the poor little boy, he can't even bother to look back while he's extending his hand. The little boy has DS and he's not wearing eye glasses so it's obvious Todd doesn't really give a shit about the well being of little Trig.
Look at the picture on FB, it is big enough to see. Trig is not fist bumping. I don't know that it matters. The rw was nasty when they thought the Obamas fist bump. Some may think it hypocritical of a rw to post fist bump. It wouldn't bother me but that doesn't look like a fist bump when you view the large picture. The smaller one you might guess a fist bump.
I don't see it as bad. Who knows if they just did a fist pump? I just wish the little man was wearing his glasses. I think Todd's the only one who takes care of that little boy, so I'm not going to hate.
I totally agree with 1:49. My daughter flew on an Alaska Airlines plane with Todd and child-known-as-Trig awhile ago. She said that he was an attentive "parent" and seemed to care for the child. I am not a Palin family fan in the least and think there is a lot of nonsense going on re the pregnancies, all of them, and the babies, all of them, but if there is a small child living in the Palin household I think that Todd is probably the only adult who is looking out for him.

GinaM: they are trying (trigging, hey, there's a new catchword) to humanize Todd, you know, try to make him appear to be a loving, wonderful father figure to that child. But it comes across like the poor boy is trying to catch up to Todd, and he's walking away...
The "loving father" is a front. Many creeps have the front and a second life. Are they loving part time or does the dark creepy side negate the loving part altogether?
I was not a fist bump but now convinced it is a secret AIP fist bump the evil traitor is teaching the innocent unknowing child. Bristol already revealed where Tripp learns all the hate and hateful language. Hanging out with the AIP terrorist and friends. One doesn't want to think of what Todd does to Trig. AIP fist bump is just the tip of the iceberg.
Inclusive would mean holding hands, maybe Todd with his arm around Trig. That's not what's going on in the photo. If that's "relaxed" what is Trig reaching for?
Todd's the daddy but Sarah's not the mother. I think Sarah covered up for Todd's indiscretions with other women. Maybe they were threatened by this women so Sarah paid her off and bought the fake belly.
There seem to be a lot of Sarah loving trolls crawling around here.....I always thought that Todd was the only Palin that really cared about Trig. Maybe he his Todd son. But then I never saw Sarah show a lot of affection or tenderness toward any of HER children...:)
I do not get the inclusive feeling but some relaxed. Todd looks preoccupied and disconnected from Trig. Like others said it is just a snap shot, a moment. He may not be as preoccupied as he looks. He may care about the boy and if he is warm. The Palins don't care what people say or they would be more courteous. This one picture was to Wayne Brady's joke. Someone just slapped what they could find quick to go with what someone wrote for Palin.
My impression is the same as nearly every photo I have seen of Trig where he isn't being hauled around like a 50lb bag of purina- that he is, in every sense of the word, left behind by this family.
This is the same Trig from the Edwards BBQ (first time Sarah was seen in public with Trig in TWENTY THREE MONTHS!) but to me this child looks nothing, n-o-t-h-i-n-g like "VBS" Trig. Is it just me? I don't even see a slight resemblance. This child has a round face rather than heart shape, much darker hair, fuller lips- is it really even possible for one child to look SO different from one photo to the next?
Some folks here on IM have said they don't doubt Todd's love of Trig. Along those lines, I can say that I have not seen a photo of Todd rejecting, dumping, handing off, repulsed by, pulling away from or otherwise "doing a Sarah" toward the little guy.
Don't see Todd making a fist or anything like that in the photo. I've held little folks' hands and have had them break away and come back... I think that's what's going on there.
If it was Sarah in that picture? A whole 'nother story. Todd? He may be a hornbuzzard and a pimp, but I don't think he's a child abuser. (yeah, yeah, I know...)
Todd's a good man and great father. He lets students commercial fish for college funds. He gives to charity. Not more you can ask for. yeah yeah, call me a troll. but it's true.
Taking a young child with bare legs and feet into a late night glory moment for Sarah during freezing cold weather... that is not neglect? Where was caring Todd?
People do analyze single snapshots for a variety of reasons. This particular one does not say much to me, but so what. I've known psychics that have been spot-on with less to go by.
I am with the way it was presented and Sarah's thing with comedians and jokes and all that.
Even pimps and hit men can be loved by their family. They may be nice at home. The Green River killer was nice and no one suspected him at home. Todd isn't that bad. He is merely a bad bully and treats the women that work for him bad, but not all the time. He is only part bad.
I would say that it looks like the weather is cold. Todd has on a hat, T-shirt, and pullover. One hand is in his pocket probably for warmth and the other is reaching back. Poor Trig, as usual, is under dressed for the weather, no hat or long-sleeved pullover. As for Todd's hand being curled, that might be the timing of the shot. I get the impression that he just pulled it out of his pocket and his hand is cold. He was probably just getting ready to open it as he reached for Trig. It's hard to know much more than that when we don't really have context.
Wow. Are you im Alaska? Are you Trig? Do you know how he was feeling tempwise? He doesn't look uncomfortable. It literally looks like they are walking as a family and someone turned around to take a pic of father and on. I have no way of knowing if whether Trig stopped to look around, stopped randomly, they were just running and stopped, with Todd being slightly ahead waiting to catch up.
She actually posted that pic. Duh, she probably thought it was cute. Hey, look at more of what Trig struggles for in our family.
No love. No caring. No nurturing. Nothing a kid should get from his grandparents. Other than he's a cute or convenient prop for pics and he's exploited for reality shows.
They may not have many photos and she had little to choose from. The photo is blah, it doesn't have any significance to me. I just wonder what was she thinking. Maybe there is a story that would make the photo make sense or be likable, give it some warmth? It would be nicer if this Trig did look like the Trig I think of as Trig, but Sarah doesn't care about that. She has her reasons for posting weird chit.
The father is in long sleeves and the little one looks orphan like and behind. It may be an attempt at a fist bump. I hope he succeeded. Todd looks self involved but obligated to trying to react to child if that is a fist bump.
Gryphen, speaking of pictures- have you seen the one from the Gilbert, AZ news site where Sarah is slinging BBQ and pun-din-try? TRIPP is in the foreground but it looks for all the world like Tripp when he was 1 1/2 or 2. Very fat, puffy baby cheeks, curls at the nape of his neck, etc. I think I commented to KaJo on another post that my first thought was- this is Bristol's DWTS child, conceived during her "reconcilliation" with Levi.
Yes, I'm sure in this case it probably WAS "camera angles" and lighting, but with all the patently outrageous things this family has done concerning babies, their birth dates, and their ages- I am still not totally convinced I am not on to something here.

There's a pic of Sarah holding Trig at that picnic and Tripp is standing in front her her. It looked like they had a long day. But when they're down there, Tripp is usually pretty busy. I read some place Bristol and he were at batting cages

Images of the Palins are nauseating. The little children are cute but a reminder of abuse and neglect. I sure do hope Schaeffer Cox can bring some light into their lives, something that allows Trig and Tripp a chance in life. I don't know that prison would rehabilitate the adults but it may give some of them a second thought on life around the cult compound.

For those who say Todd is "fist bumping" Trig- try to fist bump an imaginary toddler standing BEHIND you, while you are looking forward. Wouldn't you worry about clocking said toddler in the kisser?
I think the closed fists are coincidental, the result of them holding hands in an earlier moment but because of Todd walking too fast for Trig, their hands separated and the photo was snapped at that moment.
I do believe Todd loves ONE of the Trigs, because we have seen genuinely tender moments of affection between them. But in this photo, I just see a tiny boy blind to the world without his glasses, deaf to life's context clues without his hearing aid, reaching out for help that once again is not there.

I believe July this year, on a family outing. There's another of Trig wearing teh same outfit in the family's backyard. He's laughing huge. I will try to find it.
There is so much body language going on in that photo, but it is not a warm, fuzzy message. If Todd and Trig had been walking along holding hands, that's not what's going on when the photo was snapped.
Trig is behind Todd, reaching out, trying to catch up with him, and Todd, steel jaw set, isn't stopping for the little guy to catch up. Trig is not wearing the glasses that they plop on his face for other photos (even though those prop glasses were too big for the little boy).
The other problem is that the photo was proudly posted on Sarah's Facebook on Aug.20 to protest Wayne Brady's joke told at a roast. That means that Sarah (or whoever writes her facebook page) thinks that's the best photo that they have of Trig right now. There aren't many photos of Trig-- sitting alone in an auditorium and calling it Bible School, or appearing at a family party.
That is not a warm, fuzzy photo of a father and his son. It is cold and shows a man who is distant and not connected with the little boy who is trying to catch up with him. Once Sarah described Trig running towards some farm animals with his hand outstretched in front of him, guiding him like his "North Star." I suggest that without his glasses, it is hard for Trig to see, and he walks with an arm in front of him to avoid bumping into things. Trig is not wearing his glasses, and he is not dressed as warmly as Todd is. And, that's the best photo that Sarah had to post to protest a joke.

That is the only context I know of and it ain't good. Horrible, infact. Like all you say and worse. You would think someone in that big group of people would care or take the time to make the Palin family look better. How hard is it to take more pictures of all the time they spend with Trig? These are the years they should be paying the most attention to Trig's needs. It doesn't make sense that he is not in a stable home envirnoment and regular schooling for his level. He should be making friends and relating to them in a consistent manner.
Didn't school start in the Valley? Why is Trig in the scorching heat of Arizona while family supports another loser?
What happened to his Bible classes? How long since he's seen those friends? They only proved that he was alone. I know they make strange choices at times, but that was the saddest lonely picture. As they know a picture is worth 1000s words. So that was a manuscript they were sending of a lonely boy.
Would the Palin boss allow dear Trig to go to Bible school or any school in Arizona?
School, wait a second - the kid was purportedly born in April, 2008 - so that makes him just over 4 years old. Sorry, but almost everywhere, Kindergarten is 5 by July or so. And many parents red shirt (hold back another year)especially boys. So, much as I dislike (okay despise) $carah Palin, the kid really isn't old enough for school.
@7:10- You are absolutely wrong in this particular case. A child with all the physical and cognitive issues that Trig is dealing with should have been receiving early intervention from the time he was a few months old. He would likely qualify for and need some, if not all, of the following: vision training, audiological services (and probably auditory training using hearing aids and assistive listening devices), speech and language services, OT, PT and possibly teacher of the deaf services.
NO child with the kind of significant needs that he has waits until 5 years old to start school, unless there is neglect on the part of the family and/or doctors.
Kids with special needs should be attending preschool to maximize their potential. He is not only old enough for school, it is the best thing for him.
I believe the MatSu school district started up for the Fall already. Is Trig enrolled in public preschool? In my experience, the best preschools for kids with special needs are public preschools where there are multiple licensed and well-trained special ed teachers to give the kids lots of love and attend to their educational, emotional, and social development.
Regardless, a kid like Trig NEEDS to be in school even if he's only four.
This child's face looks so different from others we've seen. I don't have the ability to do it, but I would love to have someone enlarge his little face so that we can see it in detail. This photo makes me sad: to see him reaching out and Todd not even looking in his direction. It is as if no one cares where he is or where he is going. And if he can't see or hear properly as has been reported, how can he not be very afraid. I do hope someone loves and cares for this child.

He definitely acts like his daddy. Todd is a loving father. I know "Life's a Tripp" was boring, but the iron dog start scene where Trig enthusiastically reaches for Todd literally made me tear with immense joy. Then Todd said bye to Tripp and Tripp gave him a huge kiss.

If it was Sarah who picked that picture she did not pick one that shows a loving father. It looks like a man walking down a road with a kid behind him. How can you tell from a photo if that is the father or not? It is uncertain which Trig they are using.
The Palins are known liars so how much can you believe? Someone wrote as Sarah to a comedian who told a Trig joke at a roast and someone put that picture on facebook. It isn't about love or loving people. Facebook is thanking a comic and writing about chromosome love, a cutesy twist.

This is a snapshot, a moment in time. I am not comfortable reading to much into it for that reason. I walked a lot with my kids. Sometimes I held their hands, sometimes I didn't, sometimes they wanted to hold hands, other times they pulled away to look at something interesting. They're dressed differently? I wear flannel when people around me are wearing tank tops. Neither of them look stressed or tense to me.
I just don't see this picture as proving anything good or bad about Trig's situation.

As infuriated as I have been in the past with the way the family, particularly Sarah, has treated Trig, I agree that it is hard to make any definitive conclusions from this one rather ambiguous photograph.
There are so many possibilities for how the two of them are positioned and interacting (or not) that we really can't judge.
While Todd has never impressed me as being particularly intelligent, socially appropriate or mature, I do have to say that he has seemed to show more affection towards Trig than Sarah ever did.
What does strike me as strange is that, if the point of posting a photo of the two of them is to show what a warm, fuzzy family they are, you would think they would take a picture that is more obviously a warm, fuzzy moment.

There are pictures of me that have horrible expressions and then one taken the next moment looks happy and wonderful. My brother's wedding pictures look like they are of the two happiest people in the world and their marriage was nothing but misery from the get-go.

Yes, pictures are literally a second in time. But Trig looks happy there. That was from JUly I believe, a family outing. I've seen a pic Willow took of Trig wearing the same outfit laughing big in the backyard.

Looked at from a wholly objective perspective (which I personally don't have given my long following of the Palin saga), I think it shows that his grandfather is trying to get him to keep up, like I did with my kids in the pool, swimming a little ahead of them to get them to reach their arms forward when they are learning to swim. It looks like he is trying to get him to exercise, and perhaps push himself.
Except Trigg has DOWN SYNDROME. He is NOT a normal kid with a normal kid's resiliency and intelligence. If he is pushed, he needs to have somebody ready to CATCH him if he falls - and when you are in FRONT of somebody, you cannot catch him!

I think someone wanted to paint the picture that they were relating and connecting up because the photo shows the opposite. Sarah or the Palins like to post pictures of Trig looking lonely or left out from time to time. Fist bump implies they would touch at some point.

I see a little boy who needs a haircut, who perhaps should have long sleeves on, and who should be wearing his glasses. I see a dad who is walking too fast for his little son and NOT interacting with him at all. The dad should be walking at the child's pace and should be talking with him, pointing out critters in the woods and birds in the trees. It's actually a photo that could be of many dads and their little sons, not just Todd Palin with Trig.

Todd is wearing glasses, not Trig. It does not look like Trig is fist bumping. I take it Sarah is fond of the picture if she picked it out. It may have been a ghostworker if she was busy.
Sarah Heath Palin had to go to 5 colleges to get one degree but she only has the intellect of a mean girl from junior high. Nobody even knows if she really has a degree.
Bristol Palin went to several high school, Wasilla High School, West Anchorage High School, Juneau-Douglas High School, and delivered her baby in her senior year. The only word Bristol knows is "AWESOME" and we all know the word that Tripp knows.
Willow Palin never went to her senior year of high school and went straight to hair school.
Those Palins are low achievers. The lesson to be learned from this family is that money can't buy you an education.

I think that SarahPAC should not be allowed to pay for Trig's nanny. There is something wrong with our political system if a person can raise money from the public ostensibly for political purposes and then use that money for personal purposes. Trig is the responsibility of Todd and Sarah Palin, whether or not they are his real parents, and those poor benighted idiots who have contributed to her PAC to have her give their money to political candidates should not be paying to raise a child. What Sarah does is raise money to increase her income then not pay income taxes on the increased income because it's not technically income but money for her to pass on. It's just plain crooked and corrupt to my mind.

Looks like Sarah dressed Trig in short sleeves for the photo session because "why should she care if those notorious Alaska skeeters get to Trig's arms?"
Question, how does Todd know that Trig is even behind him? Trig can't see without his glasses, his bangs are starting to get into his eyes and his little legs are struggling to keep up with Todd.
On the post it says Trig is a blessing to HIS family. This is weird diction- why not OUR family? Does she have that much of a disconnect to him that she disavows him and always has to point out his extra chromosome? I don't get it.
I have read all of the entries above, considered all of the differing opinions and still I feel a lack of warmth in this picture.
Granted, it captures a moment in time, but it is not one I would have chosen is I were the one selecting it for publication.
There seems to be a lack of connection between the subjects pictured and it disturbs me greatly. Let me leave it at that for the time being, though it makes me sad...
I still think that Trig looks more FAS than Down. Whatever his issue these people had a choice and instead of exercising what I would consider the correct option if they knew this little fetus was compromised they decided to have him and then use him as a prop knowing he'd never have more than an 8 year old mentality and they'd have to prepare for a future with him. I'm happy they make a lot of money cause this little kid is going to cost them a bundle!
Okay well I let this thread go for awhile just to see where it ended up. And I am not surprised at how quickly somebody tried to put a happy face on a picture that I found a little disturbing.
My immediate take on this picture was either that Todd had JUST let go of Trig's hand and was walking away from him, or that Trig had lagged behind and was running to catch up.
There was NOTHING in this picture which suggested a fist bump, and I have no idea how people reached THAT conclusion. Fist bumps are usually given face to face, not while walking away.
I asked for your impressions because I wanted to see if MINE were simply due to my opinion of this family, or if others would also see what I thought I saw, which was that what this photo projected was abandonment.
It felt to me that Trig was being left behind, which of course is EXACTLY how it feels he has been treated ever since Sarah stopped needing him to help her politically or to assist her in selling ghostwritten books.

For non Alaskans...this has been a very cool summer We only had 16 days that reached 70 degrees in the Anchorage/Wasilla area. I have been outside very few times without a light jacket all summer. Toad made sure he had something on his arms....what about his "son"?
A walking fist bump is one of the funnier things I've read all evening. A man totally ignoring an alleged fist-bump-wanting child would be cruel. Man clearly cares more for someone taking his picture, that is where his attention goes. Man wears glasses so he can see his envirnoment, not so for the child who may need both glasses and earing aid. Child may feel more isolated and alone since he is impaired. It could be a freightening experience if he is severly impaired. My eye sight is such that without glasses I can feel like walking in a tunnel of vast space and unseen objects when actually in a similar setting to that picture.

I totally agree with 1:49. My daughter flew on an Alaska Airlines plane with Todd and child-known-as-Trig awhile ago. She said that he was an attentive "parent" and seemed to care for the child. I am not a Palin family fan in the least and think there is a lot of nonsense going on re the pregnancies, all of them, and the babies, all of them, but if there is a small child living in the Palin household I think that Todd is probably the only adult who is looking out for him.

Some folks here on IM have said they don't doubt Todd's love of Trig. Along those lines, I can say that I have not seen a photo of Todd rejecting, dumping, handing off, repulsed by, pulling away from or otherwise "doing a Sarah" toward the little guy.
Don't see Todd making a fist or anything like that in the photo. I've held little folks' hands and have had them break away and come back... I think that's what's going on there.
If it was Sarah in that picture? A whole 'nother story. Todd? He may be a hornbuzzard and a pimp, but I don't think he's a child abuser. (yeah, yeah, I know...)

Gryphen, speaking of pictures- have you seen the one from the Gilbert, AZ news site where Sarah is slinging BBQ and pun-din-try? TRIPP is in the foreground but it looks for all the world like Tripp when he was 1 1/2 or 2. Very fat, puffy baby cheeks, curls at the nape of his neck, etc. I think I commented to KaJo on another post that my first thought was- this is Bristol's DWTS child, conceived during her "reconcilliation" with Levi.

ReplyDeleteI think the closed fists are coincidental, the result of them holding hands in an earlier moment but because of Todd walking too fast for Trig, their hands separated and the photo was snapped at that moment.
I do believe Todd loves ONE of the Trigs, because we have seen genuinely tender moments of affection between them. But in this photo, I just see a tiny boy blind to the world without his glasses, deaf to life's context clues without his hearing aid, reaching out for help that once again is not there.
I think it shows Todd needs better dentures.

The other problem is that the photo was proudly posted on Sarah's Facebook on Aug.20 to protest Wayne Brady's joke told at a roast. That means that Sarah (or whoever writes her facebook page) thinks that's the best photo that they have of Trig right now. There aren't many photos of Trig-- sitting alone in an auditorium and calling it Bible School, or appearing at a family party.
That is not a warm, fuzzy photo of a father and his son. It is cold and shows a man who is distant and not connected with the little boy who is trying to catch up with him. Once Sarah described Trig running towards some farm animals with his hand outstretched in front of him, guiding him like his "North Star." I suggest that without his glasses, it is hard for Trig to see, and he walks with an arm in front of him to avoid bumping into things. Trig is not wearing his glasses, and he is not dressed as warmly as Todd is. And, that's the best photo that Sarah had to post to protest a joke.

You would think someone in that big group of people would care or take the time to make the Palin family look better. How hard is it to take more pictures of all the time they spend with Trig? He would likely qualify for and need some, if not all, of the following: vision training, audiological services (and probably auditory training using hearing aids and assistive listening devices), speech and language services, OT, PT and possibly teacher of the deaf services.
NO child with the kind of significant needs that he has waits until 5 years old to start school, unless there is neglect on the part of the family and/or doctors.

In my experience, the best preschools for kids with special needs are public preschools where there are multiple licensed and well-trained special ed teachers to give the kids lots of love and attend to their educational, emotional, and social development.

ReplyDeleteThis is a snapshot, a moment in time. I am not comfortable reading to much into it for that reason. I walked a lot with my kids. Sometimes I held their hands, sometimes I didn't, sometimes they wanted to hold hands, other times they pulled away to look at something interesting. They're dressed differently? I wear flannel when people around me are wearing tank tops. Neither of them look stressed or tense to me.

As infuriated as I have been in the past with the way the family, particularly Sarah, has treated Trig, I agree that it is hard to make any definitive conclusions from this one rather ambiguous photograph.

While Todd has never impressed me as being particularly intelligent, socially appropriate or mature, I do have to say that he has seemed to show more affection towards Trig than Sarah ever did.

DeleteLooked at from a wholly objective perspective (which I personally don't have given my long following of the Palin saga), I think it shows that his grandfather is trying to get him to keep up, like I did with my kids in the pool, swimming a little ahead of them to get them to reach their arms forward when they are learning to swim. It looks like he is trying to get him to exercise, and perhaps push himself.
ReplyDeleteExcept Trigg has DOWN SYNDROME. He is NOT a normal kid with a normal kid's resiliency and intelligence. If he is pushed, he needs to have somebody ready to CATCH him if he falls - and when you are in FRONT of somebody, you cannot catch him!

I also noticed what Trigg is wearing vs. what Toad is wearing. It's like they're dressed for two different climates.
Also, Trigg's need for a haircut is obvious. Look at the bangs falling in his eyes - that much annoy him like crazy.
Maybe Todd is trying to lose Trig or Ruffles in the woods, whatever his name is?

I think someone wanted to paint the picture that they were relating and connecting up because the photo shows the opposite. Sarah or the Palins like to post pictures of Trig looking lonely or left out from time to time. Fist bump implies they would touch at some point.
Gryphen, help me out here. My comment addressing the "fist pump" claim is not posted, and my reply to Sharon on the AlJazeera post is also not visible. What gives? Are they only not showing for me, are they not coming through at all? I really am starting to get frustrated here.
ReplyDeleteI see a little boy who needs a haircut, who perhaps should have long sleeves on, and who should be wearing his glasses. I see a dad who is walking too fast for his little son and NOT interacting with him at all. The dad should be walking at the child's pace and should be talking with him, pointing out critters in the woods and birds in the trees. It's actually a photo that could be of many dads and their little sons, not just Todd Palin with Trig.

Todd is wearing glasses, not Trig. It does not look like Trig is fist bumping. I take it Sarah is fond of the picture if she picked it out. It may have been a ghostworker if she was busy.

ReplyDeleteSarah Heath Palin had to go to 5 colleges to get one degree but she only has the intellect of a mean girl from junior high. Nobody even knows if she really has a degree.
Bristol Palin went to several high school, Wasilla High School, West Anchorage High School, Juneau-Douglas High School, and delivered her baby in her senior year. The only word Bristol knows is "AWESOME" and we all know the word that Tripp knows.
Willow Palin never went to her senior year of high school and went straight to hair school.
Those Palins are low achievers. The lesson to be learned from this family is that money can't buy you an education.

DeleteI think that SarahPAC should not be allowed to pay for Trig's nanny. There is something wrong with our political system if a person can raise money from the public ostensibly for political purposes and then use that money for personal purposes. Trig is the responsibility of Todd and Sarah Palin, whether or not they are his real parents, and those poor benighted idiots who have contributed to her PAC to have her give their money to political candidates should not be paying to raise a child. What Sarah does is raise money to increase her income then not pay income taxes on the increased income because it's not technically income but money for her to pass on. It's just plain crooked and corrupt to my mind.

Whatever his issue these people had a choice and instead of exercising what I would consider the correct option if they knew this little fetus was compromised they decided to have him and then use him as a prop knowing he'd never have more than an 8 year old mentality and they'd have to prepare for a future with him. I'm happy they make a lot of money cause this little kid is going to cost them a bundle!

ReplyDeleteOkay well I let this thread go for awhile just to see where it ended up. And I am not surprised at how quickly somebody tried to put a happy face on a picture that I found a little disturbing.
ReplyDeleteMy immediate take on this picture was either that Todd had JUST let go of Trig's hand and was walking away from him, or that Trig had lagged behind and was running to catch up.
There was NOTHING in this picture which suggested a fist bump, and I have no idea how people reached THAT conclusion. Fist bumps are usually given face to face, not while walking away.
I asked for your impressions because I wanted to see if MINE were simply due to my opinion of this family, or if others would also see what I thought I saw, which was that what this photo projected was abandonment.
It felt to me that Trig was being left behind, which of course is EXACTLY how it feels he has been treated ever since Sarah stopped needing him to help her politically or to assist her in selling ghostwritten books.
So that's my take. thanks for sharing yours. (Oh, and nice try troll.)

DeleteFor non Alaskans...this has been a very cool summer We only had 16 days that reached 70 degrees in the Anchorage/Wasilla area. I have been outside very few times without a light jacket all summer. Toad made sure he had something on his arms....what about his "son"?

DeleteA walking fist bump is one of the funnier things I've read all evening. A man totally ignoring an alleged fist-bump-wanting child would be cruel. Man clearly cares more for someone taking his picture, that is where his attention goes. Man wears glasses so he can see his envirnoment, not so for the child who may need both glasses and earing aid. Child may feel more isolated and alone since he is impaired. It could be a freightening experience if he is severly impaired. My eye sight is such that without glasses I can feel like walking in a tunnel of vast space and unseen objects when actually in a similar setting to that picture.
