Man has the kind of voice that inspires you to trust him.
Fortunately he is using it for all the right reasons.
Update: A little more good news, the Obama campaign donors have now passed 4 million, and yes that IS a record.
lack of enthusiasm my ass!
He’s effective; Samuel L. Jackson is effective (in a different sort of way), and Bill Clinton is effective. I’m glad they’re willing to help the cause.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting so sick of the anti Obama stuff..it's everywhere. What the heck is wrong with people...since when is something good bad. Love our President Obama
ReplyDeleteWell, everything they throw at PBO is old, worn-out, unproven garbage. I cannot believe they (Republicans) are trying to resurrect Rev. Wright. Unbelievable. It didn't work in 2008, and it isn't going to work now.
DeleteThey have nothing. They just prey on the same old, tired fears of the old, white males. "He'll take away our guns, we'll all have to stand in front of death panels, we're going to be a socialist country, he's a Muslim bent on turning this country over to the Muslim Brotherhood," etc., etc., etc.
That's okay, they want to bring back rev. Wright? Let's start talking about just how much Mormonism is different than mainstream Christianity. Let's see how mitt responds to beIng asked if he's received the Second Anointing, and how it would affect a possible presidency!
DeleteGreat ad and so positive!
ReplyDeleteMorgan Freeman for Obama! And, he's bestie friends with Clint Eastwood. Hmmm. Clint named his daughter after Morgan.
ReplyDeleteI love the show, "Through the Wormhole." But I'll bet it has no Christian conservative watchers. Too sciency and evolutiony.
... like me, those millions of voters who have contributed to the best of their financial ability, no matter how little or how much, will make sure their votes count.
ReplyDeleteFor all of the big GOP PACs' efforts, a concerted Will of the People will be difficult to beat.
I HOPE! Let's GO and VOTE DAMMIT!
Absolutely. I've given all that I can and I don't regret a penny of it. Every time I hear about another gazillionaire given half a million to Mitt Romney I want to scream. Such contributions should be ILLEGAL. It's so much better to have as many citizens participate in a campaign however they can (and in my case it's with repeated small contributions); it's a way of feeling involved in the process.

Add me to the mix. I've given many small donations, especially when they're matched, double or triple matched. I've knocked on doors, organized young people, and spent a few hours a week manning the phones. Every little bit adds up. A lot of his policies have turned wall street against him this cycle, and this record breaking number of small donors helped take up some of the slack.
DeleteI love the whole "grassroots" feeling of Obama's campaign. Made some great friends along the way and have been inspired by the campaigns acknowledgement in video chats at OFA events. I've got to give a lot of credit to the youth, they've come out in droves, fired up and ready to go. You've got to be in it to win it.
I was watching a Charlie Rose video yesterday (yes, I have no life) but I love his 1 hour format, his thoughtful questions and his out of the main stream guests...anyway. It was with these 2 authors about how we have the choice of democracy....machines or gardens. We need to think of our economy as a living ecosystem where government does the tending to allow our citizens to thrive and grow. The opposite is of course the GOP way where there are no considerations for living things...only the end result which is of course wealth. They also see the government being in the middle, like the core with all of use surrounding it as a living entity. The GOP way is the machines at the top...everything else is below and pretty much not needed. Kinda makes alot of sense when you think of it, but it made me feel better because I know Obama sees us as his growing garden and he is tending to us everyday...just like Michelle and her garden.
ReplyDeleteSharon, I guess I need a life too, I'm a huge fan of Charlie Rose! His table style interviews, friendly voice and calm steadiness relaxes his guests like no other format, and he puts a lot of thought into his questions and picks his guest's brains without coming off condescending.
DeleteIt's an acquired taste, but he rarely does a bad interview.

Oh this article really borders on idiotic.
ReplyDeleteHow DARE we call out Mittens and Lyin' Ryan for being liars. I mean, it's simply barbaric to call them LIARS, we're supposed to be much more coy about it! Shame on us for using that word when we call it like we see it.
---
...The election campaign of the 44th U.S. president is now calling another candidate for the American presidency a "liar." This is a new low. It is amazing and depressing to hear this term being used as a formal strategy by people at the highest level of American politics.
"Liar" is a potent and ugly word with a sleazy political pedigree. But "liar" is not being deployed only by party attack dogs or the Daily Kos comment queue. Mitt Romney is being called a "liar" by officials at the top of the Obama re-election campaign. Speaking the day after the debate in the press cabin of Air Force One, top Obama adviser David Plouffe said, "We thought it was important to let people know that someone who would lie to 50 million Americans, you should have some questions about whether that person should sit in the Oval Office."
The Democratic National Committee's Brad Woodhouse said, "Plenty of people have pointed out what a liar Mitt Romney is." Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter says Republicans "think lying is a virtue."
Explicitly calling someone a "liar" is—or used to be—a serious and rare charge, in or out of politics. It's a loaded word. It crosses a line. "Liar" suggests bad faith and conscious duplicity—a total, cynical falsity.
Politics isn't beanbag, but politicians past had all sorts of devices to say or suggest an opponent was playing fast and loose with the truth. This week's Obama TV ad, "How Can We Trust Mitt Romney?" would have been perfectly legit absent the Plouffe "liar" prepping.
Other than the fact that calling opponents liars is so natural to their politics, one wonders why the Obama people think this will have deep political resonance. The idea that they can make voters who live outside the political steam baths believe that a man running for the presidency would stand in front of 67 million people and literally "lie" about a proposal to change the federal tax code is ludicrous.
(BUT HE DID!)

Clearly, Mr Henniger is perfectly fine when a US Republican Senator yells "You Lie!" to a sitting Democratic President and commander-in-chief of the United States.
DeleteHe's got his bvd's wedged firmly in his butt crack, and his reference to fascist tactics of the 1930's was simply an "oversight", since that's what the entire GOP accused Obama as being since day one, but that's perfectly civil and polite.
Has anyone seen Mr Henninger's Long Term Birth Certificate? Because I know I never did!

Polls, lies and 'the prediction business'
ReplyDeleteIn an essay for Slate, law professor Richard L. Hasen, author of "The Voting Wars," asked if Republicans would accept an Obama victory. He pointed to a rise in distrust of election results -- from members of both parties -- since the 2000 Bush v. Gore contest.
"The lesson from these statistics is simple. If my guy won, the election was fair and square. If your guy won, there must have been some kind of chicanery," he writes.

Presidential election tests Facebook friendships
...It started out as friendly barbs on Facebook, childhood friends sparring over differences in the presidential election.
Sarah Mirocha supported Obama; her friend supported Romney. But by the time the conversation was over, the two were no longer friends -- on social media or otherwise.
"One less hateful troll = more peace on my page," Mirocha, 43, wrote in a Facebook post.
The Iowa-based writer made no apologies: "It's my page, isn't it?"

Effective Ad! I love Morgan's voice, it the perfect undertone to the truth. Obama's campaign may be overspent by the PAC's, but his ads are short, crisp, precise and attention grabbing. He's spending his campaign money wisely.
