Kremlin goes all in on with attempt to discredit actor Morgan Freeman.

Courtesy of BBC:

Russia has aimed its entire media arsenal at the veteran Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman over his appearance in a video accusing the Kremlin of waging "war" on America during last year's presidential election.

The video shows the Oscar winner accusing President Vladimir Putin, a "former KGB spy", of launching cyber attacks and spreading false information in order to avenge the collapse of the Soviet Union.

He urges President Donald Trump to tell the nation that "during this past election, we came under attack by the Russian government".

The clip was produced by The Committee to Investigate Russia, a group set up by Hollywood director Rob Reiner to expose what it calls Russia's "aggressive effort to subvert the American democratic process".

The committee includes former National Intelligence Agency director James Clapper on its advisory board.

The Russian media claims that Morgan was "duped" and compared him to Colin Powell who famously made the case to attack Iraq based on fake and inadequate data.

Clearly that is not the case with Mr. Freeman, who seems to be well informed as to what Russia did during the 2016 election, and whose opinion falls right in line with the folks currently investigating the Kremlin's interference.

Also keep in mind who else the Russians tried desperately to smear.

For those who forgot what all of the hoopla was about here is that Morgan Freeman video again.

By the way, the group that made this video, Committee to Investigate Russia, is in no way stopping with just this one video. And you can ascertain that for yourself simply by visiting their website.

Actor Morgan Freeman challenges Donald Trump to come out and admit that we are under attack by Russia.

Morgan Freeman has played Colonels, Generals, the Director of Intelligence, Presidents, and even God, so I definitely trust his opinion above that of a guy who just played himself a bunch of times in movies and TV.

And of course he is right.

We WERE indeed attacked in 2016, and since that attack actually caused more damage to the fabric of our Democracy than any conventional explosive device or military attack, then yes it is safe to say that it was an act of war.

However we all know that Donald Trump will NEVER declare that to be true, because he does not serve our interests.

He serves the interests of another.

And we need to remind the American people of that every single chance that we get, until even they can no longer deny the truth of it.

P.S. On an interesting side note I found this video over on YouTube, and when I visited it only had two comments, both from men with Russian sounding names, one declaring that Freeman was hired by the "deep state" and the other saying that he was "officially insane."

You cannot make this stuff up folks.

Unlike some candidates Hillary Clinton does not believe she was chosen by God to run for President, but at least he agreed to lend his voice for one of her advertisements.

You know something about Morgan Freeman's voice just makes me want to trust him.

And as it turns out trust is a big deal to him.

Courtesy of WBAL TV:

Morgan Freeman is backing Hillary Clinton for president, the actor told CNN's Don Lemon.

The Oscar winner also told Lemon that he doesn't have any trust issues with Clinton.

"Not with me, she doesn't," Freeman said in an interview that aired Friday on "CNN Tonight." "I can't say that she doesn't, because all you need in some cases for people is to say it. Just put it out there and it gets legs. The Clintons have been being beat down ever since way back, so she just was going along with that legacy that she's inherited over the amount of time she's been in politics, which is a long time."

Freeman added, "I think this is just made-up stuff, just, you know, it's political hogwash."

I agree.

Look I am sure that Hillary has stretched the truth more than a few times, who in politics hasn't?

But ultimately I think that the vast majority of the garbage she is accused of doing is like Morgan Freeman says "just made up stuff" or "political hogwash."

Stars come out in support of Iran nuclear deal.

Courtesy of The Guardian:

The actors Morgan Freeman, Jack Black and Natasha Lyonne have leant their support to Barack Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran.

The stars feature in a new video designed to help persuade legislators to get the agreement through Congress when it goes to the vote in September. Alongside them are an eclectic mix of camera-friendly experts including ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame, Queen Noor of Jordan and retired US Ambassador Thomas R Pickering, who urge Americans to support the agreement lest they wind up “super dead”.

Okay well Morgan Freeman played the only god that I kind of believed in so  if he says it's a good deal than who am I to argue?

Oh and there is also support from most American Jews, 100 former American Ambassadors, and 60 national security leaders.

But who needs them, when you have Morgan "freaking" Freeman?

Through the Wormhole presents: "Did we invent God, or did God invent us?"

"If God exists ONLY inside our brains, that does not mean God is not real. Our brains are where reality crystallizes for us."

I LOVE that quote!

In many ways it says it all when it comes to arguing the existence of God.

I really like the way that they approached the question, essentially mapping out WHY humans feel the need to identify and communicate with non-existent entities, and how that may have helped us to rationalize our world and develop into the critical thinking species that we are today.

I guess my question would be, does continuing to believe in a supernatural presence help us, or does it hold us back from evolving even further?

Tonight "Though the Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman returns.

"Or did humanity invent God."

Well you know what I think.

I LOVE shows like this!

Shows that make you think.

Programs that challenge your perceptions and shake the foundations of your reality.

No safe, saccharine, fairy tales here, only the gritty uncertainty of science.

Personally I would not have it any other way.

The great Morgan Freeman lends his talents for a marriage equality advertisement.

Courtesy of the Wisconsin Gazette:

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest LGBT civil rights organization, released a national TV ad campaign celebrating marriage equality and featuring the voice of Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman.

The ad titled "Dawn of a New Day" began running on Nov. 25 and is available online.

The ad script:

"America stands at the dawn of a new day.
Freedom, justice and human dignity have always guided our journey toward a more perfect union.
Now across our country, we are standing together for the right of gay and lesbian Americans to marry the person they love.
And with historic victories for marriage, we've delivered a mandate for full equality.
The wind is at our back. But our journey has just begun.
Join us."

I swear that voice could sell 3D televisions to the sightless.  Amazing voice, amazing man.

Morgan Freeman gets it.

Courtesy of Politico:

Actor Morgan Freeman is crossing his fingers that President Obama wins another term.

“I think that we did a really good thing when we elected Barack Obama,” Freeman said on “Tavis Smiley” on Tuesday. “…He is absolutely and totally qualified for the job. He has proven himself to be not only qualified for the job, but very good at it. The things that he’s managed to get accomplished in the face of so much pushback is amazing.”

“The Shawshank Redemption” star added, “And I think — this is Morgan Freeman's personal thought — we’re going to be in a lot of trouble if we don't re-elect him because people on the other side of the fence scare me.”

Yes that is the point that I try to make time, and time, again.

No President Obama is NOT perfect.

Yes there are a number of things that I disagree with him about.

But the people who are now in charge of the Republican party are OUT OF THEIR FUCKING MINDS!!!

So how is there even a choice anymore?

And don't give me that third party candidate shit, because any vote that is NOT for Obama is a vote FOR insanity, whether you want it to be or not.

Here is the video of President Obama's White House Correspondents Dinner performance. Good stuff here!

I have to say that I was at first confused by the live mic joke that started Obama's set. I caught on pretty fast however, and when the toilet flushes I was laughing out loud.

My daughter and I watched it together, and there were certainly portions of it that you HAD to be very well informed about politics and current events to pick up on. I kept having to tell her I wold explain it later, because if I tried to do it on the spot I missed the next joke. (I hate that!)

I thought the President was very good, and pretty damn edgy.  All I can say about that is that I certainly hope Morgan Freeman has a good sense of humor.

By the way here is Jimmy Kimmel's set.  I actually thought the President did a better job, though I laughed pretty hard at some of Kimmel's stuff. (NOT the unnecessary censorship schtick however.)

(P.S. I put this up last night as well, but for those who cannot play video here is the transcript of the President's remarks. I have to say though, it sounds much better the way the President delivers it.)
