The debate certainly does not seem to have negatively affected enthusiasm for the President.

This was the crowd that turned out to see the President at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus yesterday.

Estimates are that there were 30,000 people that attended the rally, and according to this newscast there were an additional 6,000 that were turned away.

I guess the President's "poor" debate performance did not have any affect on THEIR feelings toward him, now did it?

  1. Using Tea Party/Sarah Palin methods of crowd counting, there were 2 Million in attendance and about 5 million were turned away.

So this was an obvious fail by Palin standards.

  3. I don't think the debate changed anybody's mind, although I did see one -- and only one -- statistic that showed Independent voters moving heavily toward Obama. Since it was only one report, there's no way to rely on that.

People who planned on voting for Romney will still vote for him, and same for people who planned on voting for Obama. I don't think Obama sucked anywhere near as hard as many think he did (many on the left, I mean). I suspect there were a lot of people who's expectations were way too high. What they saw from Obama was The Adult In The Room.

Yeah, the debate changed a whole lot of minds. Have a look at the lates polls and you'll see that obama is in big trouble.

Exactly! the adult in the room. OK, I'll say right away I didn't watch the entire debate. But what I saw was that Romney was nothing but a loudmouth hyperactive bully making up stuff out of whole cloth. (Really, no caffeine?) By letting Romney run on, the president (whether this was his intention or not) got the material for a thousand new ads showing Romney contradicting himself.

Romney won for enthusiasm. Obama won for content. Romney sounded like he was trying to be Obama at times explaining that he was not going to get rid of Obama's programs completely. I felt bad that he had to do this on his anniversary because, on top of all his other great points, he is a good example of a healthy marriage without domination and quality parenting. Before the next debate he needs to take nap and drink a Red Bull. And Romney doesn't. Since when does being rude to the moderator win points???

Wow! Two weeks ago, I went to an Obama rally myself (in Virginia) and there was a capacity crowd there, too, but the venue was much smaller.

Yeah, President Obama may leave some things to be desired. Yeah, I sat there with my mouth hanging open for much of the debate the other night. But Mittens leaves everything to be desired... EVERYTHING!!!

So last night I sent another contribution to the president's reelection campaign, and bought a bunch of buttons from his campaign store.

    Let's get this man reelected!

I donated before the debate, and after the debate, and again the next day. Obama is the first candidate I've donated to. I don't donate a lot, but by the time the election is here I will probably have donated $250 total for the year, but I'm doing what I can. If I had more I'd donate more, it gives me a sense of feeling, I don't know, like the election and the country are mine. That I have something invested, that it isn't just for rich people.

I donate to Obama too, that is why I am LIVID that Obama handed the debate to Romney. I'm doing my part, but O failed to deliver his on Wednesday.
Here is the effect of that failed debated.

haha, A mini-mitt (one of the boys) was up in Hudson, WI last weekend with the fugly bus, he attracted well over --75-- people. Then the teabag crew (the I hate Obama bus) rolled in later in the day and the scooter parade moved to his rally and topped out at well over --90-- people. Plus it was perfect fall weather, yesterday in mad city if was COLD and WINDY

Go O Go! I Love Madison!!

Obviously those are voters in the picture are already committed to Obama. Unfortunately the first debate may be the only one time where some of the undecided voters see the President Obama square off against Mittens. Obama probably didn't win over any undecided voters with that debate performance.

Yeah, actually he did. I know of more than a dozen women who were on the fence, but after the alpha dog attack from Romney on not only our President but on Big Bird, they are DONE with the Mitt. They found him 'nasty, hopped up on something, predatorial, rude, disrespectful, ungracious, unlikeable, overly aggressive and dishonest'...to just name a few adjectives. Women don't like Mitt much.

Further, the focus groups that were watching ALL gave the win to PBO. The 'on the fence' independents broke 100% for PBO.

His mood was radically different Thursday — not just calm but buoyant, loose, focused. It reminded several aides close to the president of his response to Hillary Clinton’s stunning comeback win in the New Hampshire primary in 2008. It’s a cliché in his camp that Obama only feels really motivated when his own destruction is in sight, but the magnitude of his lousy performance clearly motivated him as he plunged back into campaigning.

St Louis Post-Dispatch: Editorial: Obama for president: A second term for a serious man.

Four years ago, in endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president, we noted his intellect, his temperament and equanimity under pressure. He was unproven, but we found him to be presidential, in all that that word implies.

In that, we have not been disappointed. This is a serious man. And now he is a proven leader. He has earned a second term.
