Yes it DOES appear that Mitt Romney might have cheated by bringing crib notes to the podium during the debate. Update!
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams or other writings can be used by the candidates; however, they can take notes on the type of paper of their choosing. The candidates cannot ask each other direct questions, but can ask rhetorical questions. The candidates cannot address each other with proposed pledges. Each candidate can use his own makeup artist. No candidate is allowed to use risers or any other device to make them look taller. The Coin Toss: At least 72 hours before the first debate, there will be a coin toss on the order of questioning and closing arguments."
Some have suggested that Romney simply brought a handkerchief to mop his brow. But this photograph clearly shows a folded piece of paper with writing on it.
And if you watch the video carefully you can tell that Romney identifies the camera that is behind the podium and positions his body to hide what his hand is doing. At least that is what it looked like to me.
If this is proven it will COMPLETELY discredit Romney's campaign. He will essentially be finished as a viable candidate.
Your thoughts?
Update: Okay I am still a little hazy on whether we have absolute proof of cheating here, but check out the video that the Daily Beast put together and see if THAT changes anybody's mind.
I have no doubt that all those numbers he was spouting were written on that paper. And the President couldn't counter because he had no cheat sheet of his own. What a miserable excuse for a human being this man is! This had better take off and be told far and wide. No wonder Obama looked stunned. Not only was Mitt lying through his sparkly teeth, but he had figures at his fingertips to throw out and knew he would get no blowback. Disgusting. Cheap. Beyond contempt. And I thought it was Obama who had all the 'tricks?" Repeat after me, GOP: projection.
I don't think it was his cheating that made things difficult for the president. It was the fact that he couldn't possible prepare for all the different Romneys who might show up. Add to that the impossibility of defending against someone who is making stuff up on the spot- what's a guy to do?
I think the cheating could be taken care of by putting cameras above the candidates. How about starting a petition?
He was certainly very careful to take some things with him off the podium. The broadcast I was watching (ABC) even made some comments about it as Rmoney and President Obama were talking to family.
They are given one sheet of plain paper to take notes and a pen... If you look closely at his handkerchief, there are writing on one size. What he did at the end, he stolen the notes Obama took during the debate. I hope it backfire and he be exposed.
Dubya had a box on his back and no one did anything.
Everybody knows the Republicans cheat and lie. Since Lee Atwater and Karl Rove, it’s been SOP. The president’s team needs to anticipate the dirty tricks better. It’s an unfair burden, but they’ve got to do it or they shouldn’t be on the payroll.
Remember when Bush was thought to be wearing some sort of rectangular electronic device on his back between his shoulder-blades during a Presidential debate; well, I suspect that Romney's cheating will be dismissed as being of little consequence the same way Bush's cheating was. Sigh...
Gryphen, you say, "if this is proven it will completely discredit Romney's campaign. We wish. In normal times, this would be absolutely true. But these past 4 years quite a few politicians get away with stretching the truth, disobeying rules, cheating the system, lying, denying previous statements; they have been performing 'crazy-making' with their constituents, saying outrageous things, doing outrageous things, and they get AWAY with it. Romney thinks the rules don't apply to him. And no one will challenge him on it.
Who is it up to to demand Romney explain what that piece of paper was? Even if they do challenge him, he'll deny, deny, deny. And the "right" will cry foul saying he's being harassed for such a little thing.
I wish candidates and politicians would follow the rules and remain loyal to the laws and practices; but they don't - they seem to think they are above everyone else. And these are the same ones who demand that the military be on guard to go and fight for their freedoms. The military men and women are the most courageous and obedient and faithful to submit to and obey their superiors. But the Romneys, who live off the fat of the land, can't even obey one debate rule?
It won't completely discredit his campaign. He somehow has over 40% support. And it is growing.. I think more because Obama looked clueless than Mitt was "fiery"- 9Lying his ass off is more like it.) How Romney gets considered a religious man is beyond me. Religion does not tolerate lying and that is his most prominent talent.
i guess i need to begin by saying that i am NOT a romney supporter. and i must say that this does look very suspicious.... i even hope it is true, so that he can be even further discredited. if it does prove to be true it will utterly sink him, as nobody likes a cheater.
however a close look at the video from which this picture is taken clearly shows that there is already some white paper on the lectern when he arrives and pulls what i think is his crib sheet out of his pocket and plops it down.
however what you see in the above picture is that originally "in place" paper on the left and whatever he put down on the right - thus giving the appearance of an open unfolded piece of paper. but we cannot be sure that that is what it actually is..... so lets not jump to any conclusions that might later collapse under their own weight.
hopefully somebody will have the interest and patience to go thru all the video of the entire debate and pull out images that can help discern exactly what is going on here.
The paper on the lecterns was probably put there in advance for them to take notes. That was part of the rules: they could take notes on paper of their choice; they could not bring anything onto the stage. He even looks sneaky doing it. What a jerk! Are all Mormons like Mitt?
I've looked and looked at the video and I can't see any writings. It does look like a folder handkerchief he throws on the counter next to paper and the second picture just shows exactly that to me, which is a folded handkerchief laying next to the paper. However, it could be notes... I don't know.
Perhaps if you enlarge the picture for us showing writing on the 'handkerchief'?
That what I saw, writing on the other size of the handkerchief... They are given a plain piece of paper and pen, I saw writing on the handkerchief... After the debate, he'd stolen the notes Obama was taking during the debate and hand it to his son. Mitt is a evil man and I hope he is exposed a ompletely before the election.
Okay, regarding 'notebook' taking notes...no can do...The candidates can NOT bring anything with them. Paper and pen is provided ON the podium before the candidates arrive at their podiums in order for them to take notes...that's #1: #2: they are already trying to spin this that it was a handkerchief that he used later in the debate to wipe his forehead with...that apparently did happen...however, that is NOT a handkerchief in front of him. There is clearly 2 sides of paper there, with what appears to be type written notes and there is another 'white' piece of something above the paper, that quite possibly is the handkerchief. Also, at the end of the debate, after the families were saying their goodbyes, Romney returns to the podium and clearly picks up more than 1 piece of paper and folds it in half and attempts to put it in his jacket pocket, he is unable and he hands off the paper to his son to fold into his pockets...
Now, what does it all mean? Nobody can be 100% sure, our side is going to see what we see and the other side will see what they want to see...however, given that, an objective view of this screenshot, clearly shows 2 pieces of paper, side by side which appear to have writing of some kind already on it.
If he brought in crib notes, he violated the rules of the debate and should be called out for it!
Also, I clearly remember that Obama had walked off the stage and a young man rushed out and gathered up his notes which were flat. Mitt himself rushed back to get his notes as if they were very important! And the way he awkwardly handed them to his son - who doesn't even look to see what he was handing him and just slides them in his pocket. It all looks suspicious.
It looks like he may have brought notes with him to the podium... But, you better believe all of the cameras will be watching his every move at the next debates and he will not get away with this trick a second time. Let's see how many numbers and facts he can rattle off as fast as he did in the first debate.
Even if they were to have a video of him reading directly from the sheet it wouldn't make a difference to the people who think that President Obama is lost without a teleprompter. It's a non-starter -- kinda like whether or not Sarah Palin was actually pregnant.
But it isn't. Romney wants to be President. If he will cheat at a debate because he couldn't learn the numbers he wanted to use, he cheats on his taxes, and he will also cheat on us. It matters.
"Each candidate must submit to the staff of the commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils and the staff of the commission will place such paper pens and pencils on the podium"
Handkerchies are soft, floppy material, not a stiff piece of paper. That is paper, not a hanky.
However, is it actually against the rules for him to bring notes? They clearly gave them a blank pad to take notes on, but was it stated that they couldn't bring notes along with them?
""No props, notes, charts, diagrams or other writings can be used by the candidates; however, they can take notes on the type of paper of their choosing."
The super-wealthy use an exclusive handkerchief starching procedure for only the most crispest of handkerchiefs so that you can do quick wealth calculations if paper is unavailable.
I did find it odd, when after the debate, Romney and President Obama left the podiums to greet their families, but then Romney returned to retrieve whatever 'papers' he had left there. He very casually slipped them into his pocket and George Stephanopoulos even commented on it. It certainly didn't look like a handkerchief to me. It wouldn't surprise me if he did cheat, as that seems to be the Republican way, but it's just so sleazy!
MSM seems to be convinced it's a handkerchief. I thought when he gathered up papers from the podium after the debate and then handed them off to his son was even more suspicious. I have come to believe he's every bit as slimy as SP.
They may be convinced now, but if we keep asking questions, someone will keep looking at video and figure this out. Romney lies. Why not cheat too? I'm just surprised they didn't wire him like they did Bush...or did they? His jacket is way too big for him...were they hiding the box better this time?
Check the end of the debate (after the families go onto the stage). You will clearly see Romney return to his lecturn to retrieve some typed notes. He tries to place them in his coat pocket, but cannot. He then passes the notes to his son who places them in his coat pocket.
I read elsewhere that he made a point of going back to the podium to retrieve "the hankie", & gave it to his son, who pocketed it. Looks/sounds like it was more important than a plain old handkerchief!
I suspected he had some type of listening device during that debate - there's just no way that pos could've been so responsive when we've seen him trying to give speeches or speak from the cuff.
He did something - not sure what but I completely agree that is a note pad he had in front of him and why would he hand a "hanky" to his son after the debate. ugh!
Obama will be ready for the next one. He damn well better be ready - I was very disappointed and I NEED him to kick mitten's flabby butt the next time.....
"Obama will be ready for the next one. He damn well better be ready" Yes, he needs to take the gloves off. He's an excellent debater, orator..show it Mr. President! Go for the jugular. The right-wing is going for yours..
"Obama will be ready for the next one. He damn well better be ready - I was very disappointed " -------------------------------- He was ready. He was calm, he was collected, he made some very good points, he didn't give Romney a chance to spout his prepared lie about how wrong his 47% comment was, he didn't waste time on stupid "are too, am not" battles, and, he is not the one being labeled all over the the internet as a lying Big Bird killing jackass.
Whether or not the President was 100% accurate or truthful, the focus is *not* on that question. The big question regarding the next debate is whether or not President Obama will call out Romney on his lies *this* time. It is accepted that Romney will go into the debate lying.
Thank you Nefer - I'm sick of the meme of people being "disappointed in Obama". The President doesn't get "in your face" like Mitt - so suddenly he was not prepared. If he had acted like Mitt everyone would be talking about the Angry Black Man.
When democrats learn to support their candidate like the GOP do, then he will win in a landslide.
President Obama came out of the debate with 10 ads about Romney's lies and policies. Romney came out with nothing.
I didn't see that this video captured Romney picking up a handkerchief. It does show him wiping his face and putting the handkerchief down. The video ends before the post-debate point where he picks up something from the podium and gives it to his son.
I've seen a photo of him from the front with the handkerchief over his mouth. I don't know whether it's a still shot or a screen-grab and wonder whether the different networks had different cameras rolling or whether they all broadcast the PBS video.
There's also a possibility that he had notes and a handkerchief.
Even the use of the handkerchief to wipe his upper lip looked fake. It was a maneuver to cover up the fact he brought a cheat sheet to the podium and wanted us to believe it was only a handkerchief.
Why didn't he put it back in his pocket the way he brought it out? Have you ever seen a handkerchief folded and put into your breast pkt?
My dad always carried a handkerchief and always returned it to his pants pocket not his shirt pocket. GMAFB!
Progressive Alaska also had a back view of Bush and his 'square box' back from 2004...he was wired and being fed answers that night, and the darn 'librul media' never followed up.
Having a husband who "must" have a hanky at all times,I notice that when the "hanky"is tossed on the podium,it is thick,multi-layered more than a folded hanky should be,and too stiff. That looks like a folded paper inside a folded hanky. After the debate,Romney goes back to retrieve the paper he was supposed to fold back up inside the hanky before leaving the podium. He can't even cheat right.
Here's the post-debate video. Check out 5:30 to 6:07.
Did Romney take any notes during the debate? I didn't think he did and wonder why he bothered to retrieve paper (not a tablet) from the podium? The banner obscured a view of whether he detached paper from a tablet but he was at the podium long enough to do that.
At 6:32 someone picks up the tablet of paper from Pres. Obama's podium.
If it was a snot rag, Wllard would have put it in his pants pocket. Of course Re-Thugs may not have pockets in their pants as they never have to carry money with them. Then it couild have been a magic snot rag on which facts and answers would appear sort of like a high tech etch-a-sketch.
Of course he may have retrieved the paper to prevent anyone from getting a DNA sample which could prove he is an alien!
There should be video of the debate. Was it on more han one network? If so, videos. Did Willard ever write anything down during the debate? If not, no need to retrieve the notes.
When he goes to the podium at the beginning he very sneakily pulls something out and puts it on the podium. No need to be sneaky about a snot rag.
"When he goes to the podium at the beginning he very sneakily pulls something out and puts it on the podium. No need to be sneaky about a snot rag." AGREED
i agree. he is fussing around like a retard. why can't he just relax?
i assumed that towards the end Romney was directing traffic for a photograph or something. also, check out ann - she tells her son to get back so they can pose?
son steps in front of TV camera several times.
don't know that means anything - but it looked like romney wanted to have a "snapshot" image of him and ann standing together for something that was not the TV camera viewpoint.
IF YOU CAN'T TRUST MITT ROMNEY WITH HIS TAXES, OVERSEAS ACCOUNTS AND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES, HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU TRUST FLIP FLOP MITT IN THE OVAL OFFICE?
Slightly O/T , but debate related. I have read an insightful post, w/ some great comments. Please see: "Why Romney Lost the Debate with Women: It's Not a Prizefight" http://j.mp/RhxN1L Unfortunately, Huffpo only has this in their "Women" section. It should also be in their "Politics" section.
Gryphen, Mittens has a VERY credible explanation for this behavior which 100% refudiates your ugly partisan accusation that he cheated in the debate. The full explanation takes too long to explain now - and frankly you and your librul bolshevik blog buddies might not be smart enough to understand it - but I GUARANTEE that complete, exculpatory disclosure will probably come no later than 6 weeks after Mittens' coronation in January. Six to eight months at the most. Probably.
Prior to this debate Mitt Romney came across like a babbling idiot and refused to give specifics on anything and now all of a sudden at an important debate he is a human Wikipedia?
Obviously the paper was the complete works of Joseph Smith. After all, mitt stood up and told lie after lie followed by numerous falsehoods, so he's just sticking with tradition. Notice the sons blank, don't look at me stare as he pockets the documents. Move along, nothing to see here. What a bunch of clowns! Ex Cat
If you look closely on full screen, you will see that he actually has two things in his right hand. He takes something from underneath that is smaller with his left hand and tosses it to the left side of the podium. You will also see in the original video that he puts his left hand into his left pocket shortly after and then has to adjust the pocket flap. The pocket flap isn't messed up when he walks to the podium.
Guys, it's simple, he put the cheat sheet INSIDE the hanky, so he could SAY it was a hanky, and it was, but the cheat sheet slipped out when he needed it to. They PLANNED this with the hanky so that they could cover their asses for cheating.
probably practiced many many times. it was a very deft move.
in the end, he takes his note paper(s) and tries to fold them together but they won't fit in his jacket.
that would be where he transfers the notepaper that could have been inside the hanky to the notepaper bundle we see at the end - basically a sandwich of the provided paper plus his extra hanky concealed paper?
It seems that once he got the cheat sheet "on the podium" via the handkerchief, he was home free.
The candidates were forbidden to bring notes but they were allowed to TAKE notes.
Why couldn't the large piece of paper at the end be his notes from DURING the debate?
The fact that he was so fucking sketchy about putting them away was WEIRD!
Also, HE, PERSONALLY returned to pick up that piece of paper almost immediately after the debate, whereas President Obama left and never looked back, an aide picked up the papers about thirty minutes later. Nothing to hide from President Obama, obviously.
The kicker is that The National Geographic Channel is owned by News Corp., ergo it is controlled by Rupert Murdoch!
Film producer Harvey Weinstein may prove to be the secret weapon of the Barack Obama re-election campaign thanks to a film about the killing of Osama Bin Laden that is set to air on US TV just 48 hours before polling day. Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden is the first high-profile dramatisation of the attack on the al-Qaida leader's Pakistan hide-out. The incident, in May 2011, was widely regarded as a coup for the Obama administration, following former President Bush's failed seven-year attempt to catch Bin Laden "dead or alive".
Produced by the Weinstein Company, the film will be broadcast on the National Geographic Channel on Sunday 4 November. "While some of the characterisations have been dramatised for creative reasons, the core story is an accurate portrayal of an event that ended the longest manhunt in American history," the channel said in a statement.
The debate format is perfect for cheating. If the debate commission doesn't want cheating there is an easy fix. The candidates stand before transparent podiums that have notepaper and pen placed there by the debate organizer. And, of course, the multiple cameras record every movement of the NAKED, SHAVED bald candidates after they pass through full body scanners on stage.
Naturally Romney cheated. Bain Capital was his training ground.
I totally agree with you! I was looking at exactly how that hanky fell and landed. It does not fall like it should, even considering it may be starched. If I really wanted to play detective, I would do a recreation. I bet someone on youtube has done it. Off to look...
Funny how at 5:45 Romney is trying to put his "notes" in his pockets, then hands them off to stoic son, who is non-reactive (expecting the exchange?), and tucks them away... and all of a sudden is animated for photo op.,,,,
It's definitely notes, this was all over the internet yesterday, at first I doubted it, but watching that second video, clearly shows he was in a hurry to stash the notes away, then hands them to his son.
It got glossed over on George Stephanopolus, but I doubt the media will touch this.
To me, looking at the picture and the video on my iPhone, it looks like a white-framed electronic reading device. When he pulls it out of his pocket it is wrapped in the hankie. On the picture, taken later in the debate, it appears to me that the legitimate paper provided to the candidate is on the left and the unwrapped white-framed electronic reading device is on the right. The hankie is almost hidden from view on the picture (a small piece of it is visible on the left near the top edge of the paper). Once I realized that Romney used the "illegal" debate technique called GISH GALLOP (look it up!) I became convinced that he did in fact need this cheating device in order to be able to rattle off so many lies so quickly
Mitt is a liar in everything he does. How did the GOP get stuck with this idiot? How is he going up in the polling? Holy crap I do not want to get stuck with him. A bigger disaster than the last 2 liars .(Bush/Cheney)
Mitt used a debating technique called "spreading" (probably shit) or a "Gish Gallop". Google the "Gish Gallop" and you will see that Mitt is listed as someone who abuses this method of burying your opponent in word, numbers and lies so fast they cannot respond to them all.
OMG if there is anyone Rep. Dem or Ind. who watches that and don't admit it is extremely suspicious. YOU ARE LYING TO YOURSELF. OMG Newt was write, Mitt will do anything to win!

DeleteBelieve me, if the public found out, without a shadow of a doubt, that Sarah Palin lied about being pregnant, it would be huge news.

ReplyDelete"Each candidate must submit to the staff of the commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils and the staff of the commission will place such paper pens and pencils on the podium"
www.c-span.org/pdf/memounderstanding.pdf
Handkerchies are soft, floppy material, not a stiff piece of paper. That is paper, not a hanky.
ReplyDeleteHowever, is it actually against the rules for him to bring notes? They clearly gave them a blank pad to take notes on, but was it stated that they couldn't bring notes along with them?
""No props, notes, charts, diagrams or other writings can be used by the candidates; however, they can take notes on the type of paper of their choosing."
DeleteThe super-wealthy use an exclusive handkerchief starching procedure for only the most crispest of handkerchiefs so that you can do quick wealth calculations if paper is unavailable.
DeleteLet's "Kill Big Bird" but I've got an extra $2 trillion for the wars I'm gonna start...Mitt Robme
ReplyDeleteI did find it odd, when after the debate, Romney and President Obama left the podiums to greet their families, but then Romney returned to retrieve whatever 'papers' he had left there. He very casually slipped them into his pocket and George Stephanopoulos even commented on it. It certainly didn't look like a handkerchief to me. It wouldn't surprise me if he did cheat, as that seems to be the Republican way, but it's just so sleazy!
ReplyDeleteMSM seems to be convinced it's a handkerchief. I thought when he gathered up papers from the podium after the debate and then handed them off to his son was even more suspicious. I have come to believe he's every bit as slimy as SP.
ReplyDeleteThey may be convinced now, but if we keep asking questions, someone will keep looking at video and figure this out. Romney lies. Why not cheat too? I'm just surprised they didn't wire him like they did Bush...or did they? His jacket is way too big for him...were they hiding the box better this time?
DeleteCheck the end of the debate (after the families go onto the stage). You will clearly see Romney return to his lecturn to retrieve some typed notes. He tries to place them in his coat pocket, but cannot. He then passes the notes to his son who places them in his coat pocket.
ReplyDeleteI sure MSM pick up on this one.
I read elsewhere that he made a point of going back to the podium to retrieve "the hankie", & gave it to his son, who pocketed it. Looks/sounds like it was more important than a plain old handkerchief!
ReplyDeleteDon't make a big deal out of it. It was a sentimental hankie. It was the hankie Mormon founder Joseph Smith, Jr. personally gave to Mitt.
DeleteWell I read somewhere that Toad always took it with him, also too.
DeleteIck- giving someone else your sweaty hanky? Gross!
DeleteI noticed at the end of the debate, he grabbed something off the podium and put it in his jacket pocket.
ReplyDeleteI suspected he had some type of listening device during that debate - there's just no way that pos could've been so responsive when we've seen him trying to give speeches or speak from the cuff.
ReplyDeleteHe did something - not sure what but I completely agree that is a note pad he had in front of him and why would he hand a "hanky" to his son after the debate.
DeleteAre we really supposed to believe that that was a hanky he handed to his son AFTER the debate?
DeleteA hanky that is the same size, shape, and rigidity as a sheet of paper? If it walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it is a duck. He cheated.
"Obama will be ready for the next one. He damn well better be ready - I was very disappointed "
Delete--------------------------------
He was ready.
It is accepted that Romney will go into the debate lying.
that's one long stiff hanky he gives his son...did it come fro Toad's pocket?
DeleteThank you Nefer - I'm sick of the meme of people being "disappointed in Obama". The President doesn't get "in your face" like Mitt - so suddenly he was not prepared. If he had acted like Mitt everyone would be talking about the Angry Black Man.
DeleteWhen democrats learn to support their candidate like the GOP do, then he will win in a landslide.
President Obama came out of the debate with 10 ads about Romney's lies and policies. Romney came out with nothing.
everyone would be talking about the Angry Black Man.
Delete~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Exactly.
the paper that he took at the end, it's not clear to me if it was off President Obama's podium or his?
ReplyDeletewas he stealing the President's notes??
um...what?
DeleteIt is perfectly obvious Mittens returns to his own podium.
"At 1:26:35 in the video, Romney picks up the same white object—clearly a handkerchief this time—to wipe his face."
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2012/10/05/no-mitt-romney-did-not-bring-cheat-notes-to-the-debate
DeleteWhy didn't he put it back in his pocket the way he brought it out? Have you ever seen a handkerchief folded and put into your breast pkt?
My dad always carried a handkerchief and always returned it to his pants pocket not his shirt pocket. GMAFB!
Mitt Romney is a Liar and a Cheat!
Obama/Biden 212
It looks like he may be writing in the first part of the video while Pres. Obama is speaking. The banner is in the way.
DeleteOf course he cheated. He's a republican. That's the only way they know how to win.
ReplyDeleteProgressive Alaska also had a back view of Bush and his 'square box' back from 2004...he was wired and being fed answers that night, and the darn 'librul media' never followed up.
DeleteHaving a husband who "must" have a hanky at all times,I notice that when the "hanky"is tossed on the podium,it is thick,multi-layered more than a folded hanky should be,and too stiff. That looks like a folded paper inside a folded hanky. After the debate,Romney goes back to retrieve the paper he was supposed to fold back up inside the hanky before leaving the podium. He can't even cheat right.
ReplyDeleteSo Mitt pulled a Sarah Palin?
ReplyDeleteLOL! RIght on!
DeleteHere's the post-debate video. Check out 5:30 to 6:07.
ReplyDeleteDid Romney take any notes during the debate? I didn't think he did and wonder why he bothered to retrieve paper (not a tablet) from the podium? The banner obscured a view of whether he detached paper from a tablet but he was at the podium long enough to do that.
At 6:32 someone picks up the tablet of paper from Pres. Obama's podium.

If it was a snot rag, Wllard would have put it in his pants pocket. Of course Re-Thugs may not have pockets in their pants as they never have to carry money with them. Then it couild have been a magic snot rag on which facts and answers would appear sort of like a high tech etch-a-sketch.
ReplyDeleteOf course he may have retrieved the paper to prevent anyone from getting a DNA sample which could prove he is an alien!
DeleteI want to see more video of Ann marshaling all the Romney's behavior on stage. She seems totally in charge of Mittens every movement.
ReplyDeleteps...that's no hanky he was reading from. Cheater.
What I do know is that Mitt looks awkward, uncomfortable, and downright squirly at the end when he's huddled with his family and advisers.
ReplyDeleteI think he was either incredibly nervous or hopped up on something.
i agree. he is fussing around like a retard. why can't he just relax?
Deletei assumed that towards the end Romney was directing traffic for a photograph or something. also, check out ann - she tells her son to get back so they can pose?
son steps in front of TV camera several times.
don't know that means anything - but it looked like romney wanted to have a "snapshot" image of him and ann standing together for something that was not the TV camera viewpoint.
I wouldn't hand a handkerchief to my kids. Why would Mitt?
ReplyDeleteIF YOU CAN'T TRUST MITT ROMNEY WITH HIS TAXES, OVERSEAS ACCOUNTS AND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES, HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU TRUST FLIP FLOP MITT IN THE OVAL OFFICE?
ReplyDeleteMitt Romney does the "hanky" panky (4X).
ReplyDeleteWith apologies to Tommy James & the Shondells!
Here's the Romney face-wipe from both front and back views...at 11:02.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_243781&feature=iv&src_vid=RePo7Y9Ratw&v=kApP3QCBhCA
ReplyDeleteGryphen, Mittens has a VERY credible explanation for this behavior which 100% refudiates your ugly partisan accusation that he cheated in the debate. Probably.
ReplyDeleteAnn says: "YOU PEOPLE!!!"
DeleteI think Mitt Romney retrieved Tri-G Palin's birth certificate from the podium.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that Mitt kept that hankie to wrap his used condoms with it like Todd does?
ReplyDeleteHas anybody ever see Mitt wipe his face at his news conferences, speeches or rallies with a handkerchief?
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably do it from now on.
No, he's never done it before. The handkerchief was a cover for the paper that was inside of it when he took it out of his pocket.
DeleteWho puts a handkerchief on the podium. He did that so as to get the cheat papers on the podium.
Prior to this debate Mitt Romney came across like a babbling idiot and refused to give specifics on anything and now all of a sudden at an important debate he is a human Wikipedia?
ReplyDeleteSomething doesn't smell right.
I tell you who loves Hankiegate, the redneck borderline retard loves it.
ReplyDelete$arah? Really?
DeleteI thought $he was finally endorsing Mittens.
Ex Cat
ReplyDeleteFucktard cheater.
ReplyDeleteHe seems disoriented at the end...what do I do with this contraband man? What do I do huh? huh? Someone take it man!
ReplyDeleteA gif of the Romney nose-wipe may come in handy some day.
ReplyDeletehttp://pjmedia.com/tatler/files/2012/10/romney-uses-cheat-sheet.gif
They're saying is was a hanky.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't you if you got caught?
DeleteSo, now pundits are saying that Obama has 'thrown it all away.' Anyone else believe this??
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/10/05/simon-schama-on-how-obama-threw-it-all-away-in-the-denver-debate.html
No, not at all.
DeleteGuys, it's simple, he put the cheat sheet INSIDE the hanky, so he could SAY it was a hanky, and it was, but the cheat sheet slipped out when he needed it to. They PLANNED this with the hanky so that they could cover their asses for cheating.
ReplyDeleteprobably practiced many many times. it was a very deft move.
Deletein the end, he takes his note paper(s) and tries to fold them together but they won't fit in his jacket.
that would be where he transfers the notepaper that could have been inside the hanky to the notepaper bundle we see at the end - basically a sandwich of the provided paper plus his extra hanky concealed paper?
It seems that once he got the cheat sheet "on the podium" via the handkerchief, he was home free.
DeleteThe candidates were forbidden to bring notes but they were allowed to TAKE notes.
Nothing to hide from President Obama, obviously.
mitt romney is lying scum.
Why does he go back to the podium and pick papers up. He folds them and works hard to get them into his shirt pocket. Very strong.
ReplyDeleteDo all Mormons starch their hankies?
ReplyDeleteawesomesauce! LOL!
DeleteJillyG
When Mitt leaves the podium at the end he is just wiping his hand on his jacket, not putting anything into a pocket. No ding deserved there.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting!
ReplyDeleteIf he took his hanky OUT of his pocket when he got to the podium, why didn't he put it back into his pocket when he was done?
If this is a used hanky that he hands to his "boy" it is 2 -3 times LARGER then the one he took out of his pocket?
Why do the thugs cheat? With W it was the earbud, with Screech it was on her hand, and now this.
That's paper that he took out of his pocket..I hope this blows up in his face..What a POS
ReplyDeleteHere is an even better video of Romney putting the cheat notes on the podium.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OAoA4aTkWM&feature=player_embedded#!
NO WAY ... THAT WAS A HANKY ... I THOUGHT THAT IMMEDIATELY WHEN HE THREW IT ON THE PODIUM ...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.collegehumor.com/video/6830834/mitt-romney-style-gangnam-style-parody
ReplyDeleteWatch the original "Gangnam Style" on youtube if you haven't seen it before, then watch this vid. It's BRILLIANT. Warning: addictive!
DeleteThe kicker is that The National Geographic Channel is owned by News Corp., ergo it is controlled by Rupert Murdoch!
ReplyDeleteFilm producer Harvey Weinstein may prove to be the secret weapon of the Barack Obama re-election campaign thanks to a film about the killing of Osama Bin Laden that is set to air on US TV just 48 hours before polling day.

If those that support Rmoney don't care that he LIES they aren't going to care if he CHEATS.
ReplyDeleteSome will just admire him for it.
Some will simply deny it, no matter what evidence exists.
Yes, this is what I am seeing.
DeleteThe debate format is perfect for cheating.
ReplyDeleteNaturally Romney cheated. Bain Capital was his training ground.
I JUST LOOKED AT THIS VIDEO POSTED ABOVE AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING INSERTED IN THE MIDDLE OF WHATEVER HE THREW ON THE PODIUM.
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OAoA4aTkWM&feature=player_embedded#!
You have to be blind as a bat or in denial not to see something inserted in Mitt's handkerchief.
DeleteWhatever Willard flung on the podium fell more forcefully and with a denser mass than a snot rag would land.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! I was looking at exactly how that hanky fell and landed. It does not fall like it should, even considering it may be starched. If I really wanted to play detective, I would do a recreation. I bet someone on youtube has done it. Off to look...
DeleteAs much as I would like to discredit Romney too, it is a handkerchief. really...
ReplyDelete-Kilia40/Ardiva
But what's inside the handkerchief? Look at the video.
DeleteIt is a slow motion video with a close up and you can see something in the middle of it.
Hankie Gate! What's in the hankie Mitt? We can see it in slo mo!
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OAoA4aTkWM&feature=player_embedded#!
The man who is afraid to show his income taxes!
DeleteThe man who gave extra money to charity on his most recent IRS 1040 and Mitt did not claim it as a deduction just to show he paid higher taxes!
The man who shelters his money off shore!
You think that Mitt Romney is not capable of cheating at the presidential debate?
That sob cheated. You can see the typed text on that paper.
Deletewatch around 5:45. Play it over and over. Then tell us what you think is going on.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_834493&feature=iv&src_vid=kApP3QCBhCA&v=RePo7Y9Ratw
Funny how at 5:45 Romney is trying to put his "notes" in his pockets, then hands them off to stoic son, who is non-reactive (expecting the exchange?), and tucks them away... and all of a sudden is animated for photo op.,,,,
DeleteIt's definitely notes, this was all over the internet yesterday, at first I doubted it, but watching that second video, clearly shows he was in a hurry to stash the notes away, then hands them to his son.
ReplyDeleteIt got glossed over on George Stephanopolus, but I doubt the media will touch this.
ReplyDeleteAnother video of the cheater.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTE1Y3bvqwM&feature=player_embedded
Mitt is a liar in everything he does. How did the GOP get stuck with this idiot? How is he going up in the polling? Holy crap I do not want to get stuck with him. A bigger disaster than the last 2 liars .(Bush/Cheney)
ReplyDeleteMitt used a debating technique called "spreading" (probably shit) or a "Gish Gallop". Google the "Gish Gallop" and you will see that Mitt is listed as someone who abuses this method of burying your opponent in word, numbers and lies so fast they cannot respond to them all.
ReplyDeleteOMG if there is anyone Rep. Dem or Ind. who watches that and don't admit it is extremely suspicious. YOU ARE LYING TO YOURSELF. OMG Newt was write, Mitt will do anything to win!
ReplyDelete
