Upset over the result of last week's presidential election, an Arizona woman ran over her husband with her car, believing him to be directly responsible for Obama's reelection because he didn't vote.
According to police in Gilbert, 28-year-old Holly Solomon of Mesa and her husband Daniel argued loudly in a local parking lot before Holly got in her Jeep SUV and began chasing Daniel around. She eventually managed to pin him underneath the vehicle as he was trying to run away.
Daniel sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
"According to Daniel, Holly believed her family was going to face hardship as a result of President Obama's re-election," Gilbert police Sergeant Jesse Sanger said in a statement.
And they say watching Fox News is not detrimental to people's health.
You know this may seem like comedic fodder, but the facts are that there are a LOT of people in this country that have been purposefully terrified at the thought of an Obama second term, and in my opinion that is emotional terrorism and something that should be addressed in the years to come.
I understand, and support the First Amendment, but a cable "news" program that makes a point of repeatedly lying to its viewers should not have the same protections as programs that offer actual news, or that state in a clear and obvious manner when they are offering opinions rather than facts.
Since the election, I have been "unfriended" on Facebook by three old friends; subjected to postings by one FOX-FED friend of the usual prophesies of the end of times via Obama. They simply cannot handle the truth. Meanwhile, yesterday at my book group in Canada, everyone congratulated me and were very, very happy and relieved that Obama won. Many Canadians were very afraid about the consequences for Canada if Romney had won.
ReplyDeleteCanadians had reason to worry - Mitts favorite movie was Canadian Bacon
DeleteIndeed, given all that oil we presumably "owe" America. Funny, we are already the largest supplier to the US.
DeleteSo let me guess Mr. Romney, is it for the "privilege" of our being a branch plant economy for the United States, or for your protecting us with that so-called "nuclear shield" of yours?
What an ass. Seriously.
I don't understand these clowns blaming Obama for the "End of Times". It IS in the Bible therefore,so, why are they angry if it is Obama? I thought that they were anxiously awaiting for that day? Why do they hate God for His plan?
DeleteI did well this election I only unfriended one person who just started spouting racist crap. And the extremist WANTED Romney to win and start a war with Palestine to fulfill some crazy religious end of world scenerio.
DeleteGryphen, doesn't the licensing system under the FCC state the station MUST operate IN THE PUBLIC GOOD?
ReplyDeleteSince when is knowingly and proudly lying to the public in any way taken to mean lying to them?
Any idea why the FCC isn't threatening to remove their license? Or, at the very least, FINE THE SHIT OUT OF THEM?
Fox has claimed in a lawsuit (see Jane Akre,Monsanto,Posilac, whistlebower) that they are an entertainment, and that they have no responsibility to tell the truth.

Yet one more time I feel obligated to apologize for the sheer insanity of my fellow Arizonans. We are not all that frickin' crazy. There are many more who have the kindness and good heart of people like Gabby Giffords than it would seem. They are continuing to count early and provisional ballots as I write. I didn't know my early ballot would not have been in the original count, but now I hope my family's 6 democratic ballots put Rich Carmona in the senate.
ReplyDeletePlease don't feel that way. The crazy people are in every state of the union, the crazy people just get more press.
Deletemy favorite part of this crazy story, this was in ARIZONA in which Romney won! So whether this guy voted or not had zippo to do with election results..
ReplyDeleteYou're expecting a Faux Gnus victim to actually THINK? Puhleeze!
DeleteLike all Kool-Aid drinkers, they are not permitted to think, they simply BELIEVE!!!
Yet once again I feel obligated to apologize for my fellow Arizonans. There are many more people in our state with the compassion, intelligence and good heart of someone like Gabby Giffords than it would seem by some of the insane headlines. I didn't realize that early voting didn't count in the original election night numbers, but now I'm hoping that the 6 democratic votes that were cast through early mail in voting will put Rich Carmona in the senate.
ReplyDeletePain and simple -soon you will prevail. The majority of the teabaggers in your state are snowbird seniors whose paranoia feeds on itself.
DeleteThe democratic/Hispanic population is a growing one.
Simple attrition and demographics will lead to "teabagger begone.'
No problem. Any thinking
DeleteAlaskan can relate. :)
Hey, no worries. I'm a Michigander who is deeply embarrassed that my state produced Meh Romney and Ted "Death or Prison" Nugent. We all have our share of good humans and complete assholes!
DeleteFox News is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party.
ReplyDeleteWhat they do is exactly what they were created to do.
The irresponsible ones are the REST of the media - the ones that should - but don't - call out Fox News when they lie.
Even worse: when the main-stream picks up and disseminates some of the Fox News garbage, ala CNN.
History will look back harshly at those who currently participate in this travesty.
AGREE.

The constant bogeyman threats must have unhinged her mind. Some of us just walk away and others are sucked into the madness.

Shirtless FBI Tea Party Sympathizer Responsible For Petraeus' Downfall
By karoli
H/T to Commenter Taarak — 11/13/12 7:29am
Petraeus was boinking (Paula) Broadwell. Then Petraeus started boinking (Jill) Kelly. Broadwell told Kelly to stop the boinking via email. Shirtless dude (unidentified FBI Agent), who also wanted to boink Kelly, complained to (Eric) Cantor (we don’t know who Cantor was boinking), who clutched his pearls and complained to the CIA. Meanwhile, the FBI, which wanted in on the boinking, wrote to the CIA, at which point Patraeus resigned because he couldn’t continue to do his job amidst all the boinking.
Now Fox wants an investigation and impeachment of Obama because, well, that’s what they do.
OMG! I'm rolling all over the floor on this one. Make it stop already. These Tea Baggers are imploding one by one and taking each other down --- top down.
These are the most hilarious and tragic boinkings of boinking tales I can recall. WTF with U.S. General John Allen?
DeleteI think the world would be a better place if the Bush Cabal were all fired and/or tried for their war crimes/crimes. I don't care who they boink but the extremes and their cover ups do matter.
"David Petraeus is in disgrace because he had a midlife crisis or something and got hot and heavy with a woman prone to jealous, impulsive acts. Meanwhile, some FBI agent with the hots for Jill Kelley and a "worldview" that included weird and unprovable conspiracy theories about political coverups to protect President Obama got impatient and contacted his teaBircher Congressional buddies. What excuse will Joe Scarborough have for the takedown of his "rising star" now?"

I would like to see Alaska able to make some progress with the Anchorage Police and Todd Palin and his Secret Service buddies.
http://malialitman.wordpress.com/2012/11/13/anchorage-police-rape-women/
All I can think about when I see Petraus' wife is that were he a liberal, SHE would be under attack for her weight. Can't you just hear Limbaugh, "Well look at the wife. It's no wonder the General strayed." Sick, but that's how they roll.
DeleteWhen will the FBI search the Kelley residence and computers?
DeleteThree days after Paula Broadwell of Charlotte emerged at the center of national controversy, FBI agents spent four hours Monday night searching her family’s Dilworth home.
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/11/13/3662697/paula-broadwell-fbi-search-charlotte.html
Are we sure this isn’t a proxy war between Israel (Broadwell, likely Jewish) and Lebanon (Kelly, Arab)? I’m only half joking.
DeleteThey were both getting their meat hooks into prominent military men.
It’s funny as hell, except that it isn’t. 30,000 e-mails? When did he work?
well, maybe it's "emotional terrorism," but the bottom line is racism drenched in stupidity.
ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't she run over FOX instead?
ReplyDeleteIt seems the majority of outrage is due to lies.
ReplyDeleteI can't have a discussion with anyone conned that Obama does not care about nor intend to address the deficit. They are angry that Obama seeks to take rich peoples money so people can get their money. Increasing revenue, reducing spending and reducing the deficit is ignored.
Four years from now I doubt anyone will admit Obama did not take their guns away.
Nope, and forever he will have raised their taxes. And the price of food and gasoline, because you know, we didn't really have four years of drought in the midwest.
DeleteWell, she's got one thing right, her family is going to face hardships.
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought too. Lawyer bills, medical bills, and I'll bet she will expect that free public defender and free medical shit too.
Deletei found this comment either at HUFFPO or RAW STORY: it succinctly tells the delicious tale:
ReplyDeleteI am definitely enjoying the GOP scramble. The funniest part is that every faction of the party (except one) blames all of the others for not being more like them.
The 6 headed beast (libertarians, beltway establishment, neo-con hawks, rich, Christian right, and looney tea baggers) all think that the whole party needs to unite behind them and sprinkle some immigration dust and they will be fine.
No one takes responsibility. Ever. Each of their factions lost for the same reason: People don't like them.
They won't be able to get past it if the economy continues to come back.
The moderates and the libertarians have the best chance of uniting the party and winning in the future but the tea party/christians won't follow along.
Before, this happens, I will enjoy the implosion from a safe distance to the left!
The U.S. absolutely needs to adopt the same laws that Canada has regarding journalism. A news agency must in fact report news. Accurately. Fox news attempted to strike that law down and was unsuccessful, thus there is no Fox News network in Canada.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed what we need.
DeleteI agree about emotional terrorism.

The really really sad thing about this is she has made her own prophecy of "family hardship" come true through her own STUPID actions.
ReplyDeleteI hope there are no children involved.
See above -one local station said she was 6 months pregnant.
DeleteRun over your husband to save the country? WTF?
ReplyDeleteThe lunacy of the extremists in any political movement is off the charts, but this just boggles
It underscores and reminds me precisely how completely out of touch the Teaparty/Religious righties are with reality. Why did the Repubs/Teaparty lose? A few examples:
Todd Akin, legitimate rape
Richard Mourdock, Rape and pregnancy are god's will
Charlie Fuqua, let's make a law legalizing murder of rebellious children based on the old testament
Joyce Kaufman, let's hang illegal immigrants
Joyce Kaufman, if ballots don't work, then bullets will
Sharron Angle, 2nd amendment remedies if election doesn't work right

Every poster at C4Pee: $arah is our savior, and the only human who has ever lived that can save us and our country.
And the chief nutcase over there, Brian Berk-ul-anus, today has outdone himself with a posting on why Granny Grifter should announce her run for President on the day of President Obama's inauguration.
He lists 20 insane reasons, but perhaps the most lunatic idea of all?
Quote:
If she simultaneously announces Lt. Col. Allen West as her VP choice, it would be a direct hit back at the new Congress, whose RINO leaders, through the device of redistricting, have tried to drive a great Patriot from the halls of Washington.
These ultra right religious people live in their own bubble, and have no idea how laughable that sounds to 98% of the USA.
I suspect that even $arah knows she is irrelevant, has burned her bridges, and has no chance at winning.
The rest of us know she is lazy, and running for Prez is way to much work for far too little money.
Grifters may be corrupt, but they know easy money.
I just can't shake the feeling that Berkulanus is our very own resplendent Mr. Conehead who is taking great delight in fucking with those people.
DeleteY'all know he could do it, and they would never suspect a thing :)
@hammer& feather,
DeleteYou could be right. He is so over the top, but he does sound sincere. Maybe he is the deepest of deep moles.
Maybe at a sensitive time he will begin to disseminate nonsense, and become critical, cranky, and sow discord among the faithful at C4Pee.
He might even get invited to become a writer for her, since he's better than the pathetic RAM, and she's forever on the shit list for defaming the Bristol creature.
As her writer, he might get some inside info.

HT!
Jesse Eisenberg HAS to play her in the movie!
ReplyDeleteThe resemblance is uncanny...
Crazy people scared out of what little wits they have by Faux Noise... and just when you think the crazy has reached full boil, here's the latest C4Pee thing: the Republican members of the House should ditch Boehner as Speaker and appoint Saint Sarah.... the reason being that the Constitution doesn't explicitly state that the Speaker MUST be an elected member of the House.
ReplyDeleteAnd wait, there's more! This would put her 2nd in line to the Presidency, and since Obama & Biden are bound to be impeached for something, voila! President Sarah Palin
Okaaayyy. So how do the get around the lines which stipulate how often they shall be elected and for how long?

All I can say is it's stuff like this that makes this atheist think that "god" might be a) a good idea,b) a Democrat.
OK, further proof that TeaTHUGlicans have along way to go in getting rid of the stupid - again,Bobby Franklin:
ReplyDeleteIn January 2011, Franklin sponsored a bill that would do away with driver′s licenses in the State of Georgia. Franklin stated that the licenses represented “oppressive times” and “licensing of drivers cannot be required of free people, because taking on the restrictions of a license requires the surrender of an inalienable right.” He further stated that the freedom of movement by operating an automobile should be open to all Americans, regardless of age or driving skills. He cemented these beliefs by noting that he does not object to 12 year old children driving cars on Georgia Highways.[10]
Well, years ago Georgia joined my list of states-that-I-never-want-to-visit and now I've got one more reason.
DeleteBeaglemom
TOO LATE! SCOTUS already ruled that driving is a privilege and not a right.
ReplyDeleteWe were at a family wedding in Kentucky. We arrived at the reception hall and noticed a car weaving into the parking lot. An uncle of the bride had his three year old on his lap, driving the car. So I'm certain Franklin's kids were on the ridign lawnmower at two and behind the wheel of the Hummer at three. Why not? It's their right to terrorize or kill other responsible drivers.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a crash my sister-in-law was in one foggy morning. Some older woman ran a stop sign and hit her (the girl was 7 months pregnant at the time.) When she got out of her car, the older woman yelled, "Why didn't you stop? Couldn't you tell I couldn't see?"
The woman pictured in this post looks a lot like James O'Keefe with a dark wig.
ReplyDelete"I understand, and support the First Amendment, but a cable "news" program that makes a point of repeatedly lying to its viewers should not have the same protections as programs that offer actual news, or that state in a clear and obvious manner when they are offering opinions rather than facts."
ReplyDeleteSCOTUS disagrees. How fukkin sad is that?
Comic relief: ABC went all FOX SOP by mistake...and put a photo-shopped "All In" book cover in live on TV

Hey, is that James O'Keefe in drag trying to pull a fast one on Acorn again??
ReplyDeleteThat's a hard looking 28. I'm guessing she was chasing her husband around a WalMart parking lot? I guess if he lives it's a given that he gets custody of the baby, once it is born IN PRISON :-)
ReplyDeleteThere is a house in our neighborhood (pretty pricey waterfront property) with a plastic lawn chair in the front yard to which a cartoon of President Obama was affixed during the campaign ever since the RNC's infamous Clint Eastwood appearance. After the election, the caricature of the president was replaced by a photo of Joseph Stalin. Now what is going on in the minds of these people? I simply cannot fathom the GOP or their supporters.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Yes, I am pretty sure this idiot listens to Glenn Beck. I am reading a book about Beck and am horrified to find all the weird info one of my workmates spreads comes directly from Beck! He is a horrible man.
DeleteYou almost have admire a woman so committed to her tea-baggin' principles that she sincerely believes that she will be better off as a widow than living in a country with a black man as president. Almost.
ReplyDeleteSay, Gryphen - if that's really your name, which I highly suspect it is not - can you confirm or refudiate the rumor I heard today that this woman is going to keynote the next CPAC convention and may be tapped to run for long-term severe conservative Arizona congressman Wile E. Coyote's seat when he retires in 2014 at age 136?
Fun Fact: Congressman Coyote is one of only a handful of Americans grandfathered in to maintain a small collection of slaves 'for research purposes'.
I almost admire her because she's driving a Jeep not made by eyetalians and built in China.
DeleteGuess she believed Bishop Romney's campaign ad.
Holy Cow! The crazy just keeps going! I could understand her rage if Romney lost by one vote (not condoning her actions in any way), but it wasn't even close!
ReplyDeleteThe nutjobs are being fueled by Fox, Rush etc.'s obsessive need to gin up the hate and not accept the fact that they lost and lost big.
