What if that $400 million being doled out to printing companies, TV stations, staffers, phone companies for robocalls, production companies, video editors, graphic designers, radio stations, etc throughout the swing states ended up providing the very economic stimulus necessary to improve the local economy to the point that the voters stuck with Obama???

    1. Early on, i thought about the production people who are getting that money and using it to buy food, clothes, and taking vacations :)

It's amazing what the billionaires' money will do when it isn't sitting dormant in an off-shore account.

Yes Donnelly (Blue Dog so don't be too excited) won in IN. Mourdock was never going to win and after his 'gift from God" shit he was as dead as a doornail.

"GOP" now stands for "Gone Old Party". You folks can go 1st: Mittens Robme & Ann 'You People" Robme, Whinin' Ryan, the entire F**ks News Circle Jerk (aka "Media stars" - roflol), & almost ALL of the rest of the Big Six Media hosebags, no matter what they pretend to believe in when the cameras are on. The TRUE majority is, like, SO fed up with you freaks blaming things on a mythical "liberal media" when the Media as a whole [OMG what a hole] is actually owned by the Right Wing! Doubt this? The Most Accurate Polls

A Fordham University study ranked 28 polling firms on how their pre-election national surveys compared to the results on Election Day. The ranking:

    1. PPP (D)
    1. Daily Kos/SEIU/PPP
    3. YouGov
    4. Ipsos/Reuters
    5. Purple Strategies
    6. NBC/WSJ
    6. CBS/NYT
    6. YouGov/Economist
    9. UPI/CVOTER
    10. IBD/TIPP
    11. Angus-Reid
    12. ABC/WP
    13. Pew Research
    13. Hartford Courant/UConn
    15. CNN/ORC
    15. Monmouth/SurveyUSA
    15. Politico/GWU/Battleground
    15. FOX News
    15. Washington Times/JZ Analytics
    15. Newsmax/JZ Analytics
    15. American Research Group
    15. Gravis Marketing
    23. Democracy Corps (D)
    24. Rasmussen
    24. Gallup
    26. NPR
    27. National Journal
    28. AP/GfK

John Sides plots the data from the study on a nice chart

Tom Jensen of PPP told New York magazine the key to the firm's success: "We just projected that African-American, Hispanic, and young voter turnout would be as high in 2012 as it was in 2008, and we weighted our polls accordingly. When you look at polls that succeeded and those that failed that was the difference."

I think a big problem with the media in this country is the shortage of real investigative journalists and reporters. With all the mergers and cuts to staff, they are mainly staffed with talking heads who merely read the latest news releases they have received. Why else would they have been talking about Mittmentum for so long after the first debate? Congressional republicans blew it for the last 4 years by obstructing everything that came before them from Obama even if it was originally a republican idea. They were counting on ignorant voters with short memories. Meanwhile the democrats were quietly pounding the pavement, making calls, and convincing citizens to vote.

I felt like I was destroying an archival treasure, when I hit the "delete" button, after watching the Maddow show referenced here.

I had "taped" (PVR'd?) this episode, knowing I'd be out, and got to see it later...mouthdropped through the entire first segment.

She managed to encapsulate the situation in perfect fashion, without "crowing" as much as was justifiably deserved.

While I would have felt better if well OVER half the populace had spoken with their vote to reject the utter bullshit propaganda of corporations, just knowing there were at least 50% of people too smart to get sucked in, was a relief.

Yes: especially since the caught-on-tape/radio/print BS from Right Wing Media reveals ALLLLLL their idiotic Media Porn Stars predicting on Tuesday night that it would be a "mandate" for Robme if HE won by the EXACT SAME margin Obama just won by Tuesday night. And -- >>gurk!<< -- well well well: surprise, surprise! Now that it proved to be just what the most intellectually robust polls indicated -- i.e. that OBAMA initially won by that very same margin -- suddenly those same right wing hypocrites are saying it's "NOT a mandate"! (roflol) :D

As Rachel said: if GOP-types don't wake up, like, "real soon y'all",
they'll be 150% extinct so quickly they won't even know what hit them. (Oh. Wait: Garsh, it's Saturday now & they STILL don't know what hit them, so Rachel, Ed, & Lawrence ALL predicted this w/ pinpoint accuracy; & the Goners' sauto-erotic asphyxiation just Keeps On Growing. THANK YOU, GOD! :D :D

NB: Equally hilarious is the fact that as the additional votes came in, & in some cases are still coming in even today, [e.g.OH, FL, AZ, et cetera], ANOTHER thing that just Keeps On Growing is Obama's Mandate-Margin. :D :D :D

Ahhhhh. Delicious! How does that hymn go? "Peace... is like a riiiiver....".

Thank you, American majority, for believing in progress no matter HOW suppressive those treasonous Gone Old Party state officials made it. I shall proudly tell my grandchildren someday that on 11/06/12, Americans successfully fought off yet another fascist-coup attempt from the Auto-Destructo's of Amerika, the GOP-believing corporate & individual nutburgers.

      Sign me --

      Yet ANOTHER History-Reading Independent Voter
      w/ No Mercy For Fascists

Pssst: And if you right wing jerkers think that just means I can't still vote as an Independent for whomever I want to in the future, that just proves you STILL don't understand what it means to have the right to vote! Perfect example of why the GOP is dying on the vine.)

PPS: "Crowing"? You "betcha", to quote yet another delusional right wing sociopath, Failin'-Palin. Indeed I am SO PROUD of what my country has achieved through this election, I'll crow as long as I darn well feel like it. Waiting until we made sure Obama got re-elected by a STILL-growing Mandate Majority makes this Crow-Job ABOUT TIME. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Take A Look At The Romney Transition Website That Briefly Went Live

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/take-a-look-at-the-romney-transition-website-that-briefly-went-live/

The reason why the picture is familiar to me is because I've had it as my desktop picture for almost 4 years now. The original picture can be found on the US Capitol's flickr site: Presidential Inauguration.

The Inauguration of President Barack H. Obama, 44th president of the United States, on the West Front of the Capitol. January 20, 2009.

Now I would have thought Team Romney would have chosen a picture from the inauguration of Reagan, Bush the elder, or Bush the lesser, but instead they went with who would actually win the election.

    Romneyworld reckoning begins

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83549.html

“We didn’t think they’d turn out more of their base vote than they did in 2008, but they smoked us,” said one Romney operative. “It’s unbelievable that that they turned out more from the African-American community than in 2008. Somehow they got ‘em to vote.”

African-Americans supported Obama nearly universally, but Obama still only won Ohio by 1.9 percent.

“We just didn’t see the enthusiasm with their base,” he added. “We had enthusiasm on our side. So we thought, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna win this.’ … We hit our numbers in rural areas. When Fox called it, we still thought we had a chance based on what we could figure was in and what was still out.”

“It’s unbelievable that that they turned out more from the African-American community than in 2008. Somehow they got ‘em to vote.”

So, after the *shocking* level of racism that the Republicans trotted out over the last four years aimed at the first black president, it's surprising that African American voters were *more* motivated now? These people are nuts. Every person of color in this country has just witnessed a rise of racism in the public discourse that defied all expectation and hasn't been seen since the civil rights era. How is it surprising that they are now even more galvanized? I, personally, have heard shit come out of the mouths of family members that left me stunned and appalled. No shit minorities get it.

Garbage in, Garbage out. Romney relied on the GOP's people to run the campaign. President Obama used the census, the numbers from the last election, and tons of data mining to run a flawless, well oiled, targeted ground game.

He didn't "smoke" them, he burnt them.
