Rather than dissipating the Right Wing freakout over Obama's reelection only intensifies.

Have these people lost their damn minds?
You know I remember MY emotional state after George W. Bush won his reelection in 2004.

It wasn't good.

In fact THAT is the reason that this blog even exists.

However even in my darkest days, and yes some of them were quite dark, I NEVER lost my shit the way that these people are losing theirs.

Check this out.

Courtesy of the HuffPo:

The movement to impeach President Barack Obama has been launched, just days after he won a second term in the White House.

The Conservative Majority Fund, a conservative group known primarily for its birther conspiracy spreading, has launched a robocall campaign to gin up support for the president's impeachment.

Okay these guys are several bricks shy of a full load, and their robo-call seems written especially for parody.  Listen for yourself here:

Our only recourse now is to move forward with the full impeachment of President Obama. We suspect that Obama is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and that there may be grounds for impeachment as is laid out in the constitution. Further, he may not even be a U.S. citizen because nobody, I mean no one, has seen an actual physical copy of his birth certificate. Impeachment is our only option. And Republicans are already considering Obama investigations. As the nation's most effective conservative group we are launching the official impeach Obama campaign.

You know I am kind of surprised they didn't throw in the possibility that he is the Anti-Christ and eats white Christian babies for breakfast while they were at it.

But don't think these wingnuts are just an isolated case either, in Georgia top GOP lawmakers held a secret meeting where they convinced themselves that the President is using some kind of Cold War era "mind control" to subjugate the American people. NO I am NOT kidding.

Read it for yourself here at Mother Jones:

President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.

On October 11, at a closed-door meeting of the Republican caucus convened by the body's majority leader, Chip Rogers, a tea party activist told Republican lawmakers that Obama was mounting this most diabolical conspiracy. The event—captured on tape by a member of the Athens-based watchdog Better Georgia (who was removed from the room after 52 minutes)—had been billed as an information session on Agenda 21, a nonbinding UN agreement that commits member nations to promote sustainable development. In the eyes of conservative activists, Agenda 21 is a nefarious plot that includes forcibly relocating non-urban-dwellers and prescribing mandatory contraception as a means of curbing population growth. The invitation to the Georgia state Senate event noted the presentation would explain: "How pleasant sounding names are fostering a Socialist plan to change the way we live, eat, learn, and communicate to 'save the earth.'"

The meeting consisted of a PowerPoint presentation followed by a 90-minute screening of the anti-Agenda 21 documentary, Agenda: Grinding America Down. It was emceed by Field Searcy, a local conservative activist who was forced out of the Georgia Tea Party in April due to his endorsement of conspiracy theories about the president's birth certificate and the collapse of World Trade Center Tower 7. The presentation also featured a special video cameo from conservative talking-head Dick Morris in which the former Clinton aide warns that Obama "wants to force everyone into the cities from whence our ancestors fled."

WTF? Those were the actual top ranking Republicans! Not just a bunch of lunatics sucking on laughing gas and inventing batshit crazy conspiracy theories. (You know I REALLY need to get my daughter the hell out of Georgia just as soon as possible!)

Okay now I know that all of us that voted for Obama in this last election were really hoping that the Republicans would recognize just how out of step they were with the American people and hopefully be much more willing to compromise with the President moving forward. But I have to say that I am having a harder time every day of holding out hope that such a thing is possible in this hyper partisan, and almost insane, reality we find ourselves in today.

These two examples along with the rather incredible number of people signing petitions of secession. and the disgusting attitude on display from the current so-called "leaders" of the Republican party, are actually quite troubling.

I am right now hoping this is simply a case of people who were caught off guard (After being lulled into a false sense of security through the 24 hour a day viewing of Fox News), and still smarting that the President pissed in their Cheerios by winning the election, just working through their feelings of anger in the public forum. And that at some point they will find themselves willing to join the rest of us in the reality based world in actually working to solve the very real problems facing our country.

I mean that's still possible, right?

Liberal Democrats, Stand Our Ground !
I'm a Progressive Liberal Democrat via CA, NY, OR, and MT and now I'm in Mat-Su Alaska. My husband is one of these Teapartier Independents. I've been to their meetings and believe me, they will not come to the middle ground. Negotiation is not a part of their vocabulary. If you give them an inch, they'll just grin at you for the perceived weakness and stab you twice as hard. Stand our ground and keep moving forward!!

These people are really disgusting, not to mention they are letting the entire world laugh at this country. My relatives in the UK are appalled at what is allowed on Fox, they love President Obama, and hated W. Remember the headline in the London paper "How could 54 million people be so DUMB"? Politicians like McCain, McConnell and Graham should be charged with treason. They are deliberately insulting the President and spreading lies. Unfortunately there are STUPID uninformed people who hang onto their every word because they are all racist. Romney was firmly convinced he would be president, because the FIX was in, voter intimidation, voting machine tampering and other Rove dirty tricks. Poor Mittens, finally discovered that money can not buy everything. Let them keep it up, it will ensure that no other republicans will make it into the WH, either, they are too ignorant to be President.

These people are TROGOLODYTES but treason is just a stupid law unless you put some anti-country plan into action. Disagreement and loopy wingnuttery is not treason. Treason, according to Obama is poor Bradley Manning who is being treated like he's below the law and the government above it. And what would Julian Assange be charged with? I hate to think, but everything in the book but treason, only for the obvious reason he's an Aussie. Obama should have won, but to pretend he's perfect when he's treating whistle blowers and journalists like that? Nope, what the govt is doing is ridiculous. I wish G man would speak up about that in particular.

Their hatred of the President is all they have going and all they have in common. If they give up on that, they will have nothing to energize themselves, sadly enough.

One of the top 10 reasons I left the day after my last class at UGA - didn't even stay for the graduation ceremony, they mailed my diploma - was Georgia politicians. It just floors me that Gingrich is STILL around, he was a Ga. Senator when I left the state.

I don't know if I posted this on IM before, but it makes sense. There has been discussion, that there has been a forward movement whereas, "white" men, can accept "black" men as equals, but, they have a hard time accepting the fact that a "black" man is their "superior" - it's a huge ego deficit of insecure white men. - A friend of mine said whenever her black husband gets a promotion or they get something nice (ex: new car), their colleagues get extremely and inappropriately jealous... sometimes shunning them.

Some people are crazier than I imagined. Even some at higher levels where I would expect some more sophisticated thinking.

I'm still optimistic (although not wildly optimistic) that enough Repubs will deal to get some good stuff done.

During the election I kept thinking, but if I were the target of voter suppression I should would be pissed at make sure to vote. And my husband was sure that it wasn't having that effect because there was no talk about that. Jesse Jackson wasn't screaming it, etc. And this time my gut was right. My gut tells me that many moderately conservative, pragmetic Repubs will deal. Of course, my gut may just have been lucky last time. We'll see.

It is intresting to listen to all you exstreamests ranting and raving on this blog about the election and the desires of different states to sceede from the government,
what no one here has bothered to look at yet is the fact that when you take the welth and redistribute it you run into a real problem, that is the fact that people (right or left) will not continue to work hard if they can get the same money for free, (just human nature) it is a real bumb deal because those of us who have pride in earning our own money will be crushed under the burden of all the takers, marxisem and socialisem looks great on papper but it never works,
have you ever seen the (don't feed the bears) signs? they are there because if you feed them they become dependent.
Another thing is, if the government continues to increase the taxes on the 1% (who already pay the majorety of all taxes) they will look to invest their money elsewhere where they don't get so heavily taxed for it, and as a result unemployment increases and the gap widens between classes, eventualy creating a 2 class system 1% welthy and 99% poor.
Another thing everyone is missing here is the obamacare issue, I'v heard that it takes months and months on a waiting list in canada to get any kind of medical attention, that is exactly where we will be in a few years, yes it will be free but you may be dead before you get it, it is all one big sick joke, most every one who pays for insurance now will drop it in lue of a cheaper government bennifet and every one who can't afford insurance will have it for free and suddenly our quality of health care goes to hell in a hand basket, if there is no $ incentive to be in the medical field and no $ incentive to acell above others in your profession then the over all quality will decrease and our base of medical personall will decrease while the patient base doubles and tripples.
I don't see the states ever being able to sceede from the union but if they do . . . the thing no noe here has considered is the fact that 82% of our military personall are conservitave and another thing is someone forgot about that old saying that goes (possesion is nine tenths of the law), so if a state pulls out it will be keeping its military bases and everything else federaly funded which also means that the funds it pays out to the fed will stop too and go twords the state itself instead.

sadly none of this will ever happen until we have reached a complete economic colapse, which sadly looks like it is just around the corner if we the people keep up with what we are doing right now.

peddle to the metal, obama is driving, euopean socialisem here we come. we are gona be just like greease before this reign of terror is over.

FYI "china wont let an investment self distruct" chew on that for a minuet, has it sunk in yet?"

His spirits are dashed by Philadelphia
I watched with disgust at what went on in this city during the recent election season.
The abuse of a young girl who simply wore a Romney T-shirt to school, Black Panthers (again) lining up outside the polls, city officials like elections commissioner Stephanie Singer abusing her office by politicizing what is supposed to be public service.
The national news was filled with stories about Philadelphia buffoonery on Election Day, like those poll watchers thrown out of voting places.
I volunteer in my community, clean up after my neighbors, and have given hundreds of hours to public service, even while I have been ill. For what end, to serve the corrupt political process and lazy people of Philadelphia?
No more for me. No more charity, no more help for community groups, no more public service.
I hope for the day I can move out of this city, and I know I am not alone.
One thing Philadelphia is good at is destroying the spirit of the best and brightest people, the very people so needed to make communities work.

      This one's RICH!!

      America needs three separate nations
Some random thoughts on the presidential campaign:
The post-election map actually shows the embryos of three separate nations: a near-solid GOP south and Midwest (which remain true to the conservative values and beliefs upon which America was founded), and two emerging Soviet socialist republics, one on the West Coast (term this the Nation of the West Coast, which, led by California upon independence, I think would soon join the ranks of the other Third World banana republics) and what might be called the Northern Liberal Bastion.
May these embryos come to term!
While it may appear strange that a conservative like myself would actually applaud the creation of two new socialist states, the intent is to teach, via hard, real-world experience, the folly of socialism to the naïve leftist ideologues amongst us. Incapable of persuasion by normal means, given over as they are to an intellectual arrogance that springs from adherence to false values and falser political myths, this strong medicine is indicated.
I have every confidence that these two nations-to-be, controlled by leftist elites supported by an electorate no longer skilled in the duties and responsibilities of citizenship and self-government, would go the way of the old Soviet Union in a generation or two.
Composed of leftists comfortable in their beliefs in a worldly and secular paradise in which the almighty state will ensure no one need work anymore, and all bow before the twin gods Equality and unrestrained Eros, it will take a hard dose of reality to rouse them from the ideological slumber they fell into since the 1960s.
My fellow conservatives, let’s get to work on this project, just possibly the grandest experiment in government ever contemplated for the North American continent!

  12. I visit the HP fairly regularly. Before the election, there was a lot of taunting from the right in the vein of "get used to saying President Romney for the next eight years." Now they are in an absolute tizzy. The stages of grief are going to be very difficult for them. Their artificial world imploded. But, alas, they will never wake up. They will just find and cling to another "reality" that "validates" their beliefs. After all, these folks think Limbaugh is an oracle.

  13. The powerful dark money is using the right-wing press to foment anger among these low-info types, making them the stooges to usurp legitimate power by pressuring Republican lawmakers into continuing to work against the President. The timing of all of this noise and endless chatter is primarily due to the upcoming ending of the Bush tax cuts, among other financial reform.

These people are fewer than they appear to be, but there are plenty to make a lot of loud noise, and ugly behavior always draws the cameras. There are a lot of ignorant people who have been hoodwinked by their opinion leaders, and they are angry, but aren't sophisticated enough to realize even today (after the decisive election loss by the GOP) who has been taking them for a ride. They need an outlet for their anger and President Obama, being the adult in the room, serves graciously as the target of their angst.

There is a reason that people like Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich rent lists of suckers time and time again to solicit money for all of these "conservative causes". It works. Ignorant people will believe you if you appeal to the lowest base of their fears and point to their natural (in their minds) enemies as the culprits. It's too easy for these grifters to separate the low-info people from their money, but it's a thriving cottage industry of hate and bigotry they are dealing in. Obviously, there is a market on the fringes of the right wing for this ideology.

This is another "rent-a-mob" scenario that has been played many times before. But in this case, most of the rank and file are not being compensated; they are being manipulated. It's disgraceful, and I consider it to be un-American. But it is what it is.
