President Barack Obama jokingly mimics U.S. Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney's "not impressed" look while greeting members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic gymnastics teams in the Oval Office, Nov. 15.
For those who have been living under a rock, McKayla became one of the most prevalent online memes after she was photographed making this face during the gymnastic competition while participating in the Summer Olympics.
Since then she has been in great demand for appearances.
Apparently even the President knew who she was, and what she was famous for. You know besides that whole being a member of the Gold Medal winning Olympic Gymnastics team that is.
What a great picture!
ReplyDeleteI agree. What fun.
DeleteThe Fierce Five meet a real fierce warrior, for sure. The girls put on quite a show this summer in London. I was so proud to watch them - they were so determined and so poised under so much pressure. They worked hard and got the job done. Not unlike our president.
ReplyDeleteMcKayla took a lot of kidding over that photo, but she went along with the jokes and poked fun at herself, which shows a remarkable amount of maturity for someone so young.
I'd like to see the president also honor our Little League World Series National Champions from Goodlettsville, TN. They lost to Japan, but the boys never gave up, worked as a team and made the country proud.
It's young people like this that gives us older folks hope. These kids know what hard work, sacrifice and determination can get them. Best wishes to all of them.
Since then she has been in great demand for appearances.
ReplyDeleteBut but but I thought Bristol Palin the single struggling mother who just sold her 2010 Challenger Hemi that she stored in an air conditioned garage for two years was in great demand?
If she attempted doing that face, she'd get chin cramps, just sayin'!
DeleteHe has the same expression whenever anybody mentions Sarah Palin.
ReplyDeleteYou read it here first in Immoral Minority.
ReplyDeleteI predict this young lady U.S. Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney will be on DWTS next year and she will win the mirror ball.
Note to Mitt Romney - this is what a man that can relate to real people looks like. When you are a genuinely warm, caring, compassionate person - who actually LIKES people - it shows.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Can you, for a moment, picture Mitt Romney posing like this? No, absolutely not. That would have somehow been 'beneath' him.
DeleteRomney came across as cold, uncaring and elitist. The conservatives love to throw that word around, 'elitist.' But Romney truly was.
Obama has consistently showed that he's down-to-earth and caring. This photo is just one of many, many examples.
So glad the majority of Americans saw through Romney!
Romney: "What's the shizzle dizzle, um, who let the dogs out?"
DeleteAnd people claim that the President is aloof and has no sense of humor. HA!!!!!
ReplyDelete(LOVE to see him in moments like these!)
OT: Did Anonymous stop Karl Rove from stealing Ohio?

Might explain his reaction when Fox's Decision Desk called Ohio...
EXCELLENT FIND! Worth listening to. I shared this in my political FB group.
DeleteThe Arizona Republic has declared Rep. Ron Barber (D-AZ) won a full term in Congress, defeating his Republican opponent Martha McSally. An analysis by the Republic "determined that McSally would not be able to muster enough votes from the remaining uncounted ballots to surpass the thin lead Barber had held in recent days." Barber plans to make a statement Saturday and McSally has scheduled a press conference for Saturday afternoon.

Rick Santorum is already planning and organizing his campaign for the Republican 2016 presidential election season. Santorum, who lost badly this year, ran on a platform of religious anti-gay and anti-immigrant hate — exactly the positions that some in the GOP are now just starting to realize hurt Mitt Romney‘s chances, however small they were, of winning the White House.
ReplyDeleteSantorum is a questionable candidate among younger voters, women, the LGBT community, the African American community, the Hispanic community, and other minorities, and his abrasive and condescending demeanor doesn’t help either. By 2016, America will be so over the Rick Santorums they’ll have to find another country to try to rule.
“A leading evangelical leader who is close to Santorum and asked not to be identified, told The Christian Post on Wednesday that Santorum is ‘organizing and making all the necessary preparations’ for another run in the 2016 Republican primary,” the Christian Post reports:

Rick, don't even bother. It isn't even fun anymore to use your surname as a punchline. Why don't you start a church or take over for the 700 Club - if you can fight Sarah Palin for it.
DeleteLet the dumbfuck run again. He lost his senate seat in Pa and lost in the GOP primarys. He can live off all his Pac money until then, I think tho that between now and then he'll be caught with a rentboy or some other sexual scandal. Anybody THAT homophobic is likely gay themselves. It is called a reaction formation. When I was in collage my Psych Prof (this was in the 80's) said I wonder about the Jim Bakers and Swaggerts etc screaming about sin all the time. And they got caught with their pants down ...literally.
DeleteToo bad, Kayla: America comes in second sometimes. Sheesh.

Go vote.
ReplyDeleteAn article in the Los Angeles Times is promoting Palin for President. The Sea of Pee has voted so much that it looks like people want Palin. Go vote so the poll shows all opinions and not just the C4P loonies.

So very cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat's even funnier is the look on the two people in the background - priceless!
