Your mindblowing thought for the day.

The universe is within us.

But it takes science to show us the way.

I guess this gives a little more weight to that famous quote by Neil deGrasse Tyson:

“Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centers of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So that we are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically and to the rest of the universe atomically. That’s kinda cool! That makes me smile and I actually feel quite large at the end of that. It’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe. We are in the universe and the universe is in us.” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson

I am not sure id we should feel humbled by this, or incredibly important?

  2. This to me is a perfect illustration of how tiny and insignificant the fundamentalist so-called "almighty god" is. A being incapable of doing more and being more than their small stunted bible-as-science-textbook imagination can conceive of.

If one is spiritually inclined, Dr. Tyson's description of the universe and our place in it is far more awe-inspiring than that of a god who was so pooped after six 24 hour days of creating a small blue planet with sparkly dots around it that he had to crack a cold one on the 7th day and rest as he watched dinosaurs wearing saddles cavorting around with their human wranglers.

If you allow it to make you feel important, you will have taken the first step to becoming a Republican.......

Everyone is working overtime here to miss the point.

Do you think these are all happy coincidences?

The immensity of this interconnected beauty and elegance is all random... right folks?

So it seems that the enlightened have their own fundamentalism.

Wrong. Note: If you had provided evidence/reasoning in support of that assertion, I would feel obliged to provide similar support for my response. But you didn't.

So it seems that the enlightened have their own fundamentalism.

FAIL. Because based on a faulty premise.

Question? If the universe has been proven by science to be geometrically structured, how do you get the instructions that create the universe? Is it at all possible that there is more to this whole thing than we are ready to admit? Maybe the catholic church has the answers, in the grand vault below the Vatican.

The golden ratio: Phi = 1.618

    0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and so on...

How about the most profound scientific discovery on mankind.

    youtube "the double slit experiment".

How can subatomic particles be aware of being observed and change their behavior accordingly?

If the universe has been proven by science to be …

Uh-uh. In math/logic you can prove that conclusions follow from your premises (or not). In the real world, the best you can hope for is "confirmed to the extent that it would be perverse to withhold provisional assent."

How can subatomic particles be aware of being observed and change their behavior accordingly?

For a potentially more fruitful way of looking at the matter, I suggest Richard Feynman's QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter (link to Amazon).

The Feynman Diagrams were introduced around 1948. Is it possible there have been newer discoveries in Quantum Mechanics since then?

Are we to ignore the 800 reports per day of NDEs around the world?

Rick Strassman MD performed the first new human studies with psychedelic drugs in the US in over 20 years. What he discovered caused him to terminate his studies because he was concluding that his only explanation was approaching the metaphysical.

But never mind these types of studies, there couldn't possibly be anything to them...

The universe could not possibly come from an intelligent source, could it?

In the beginning (of time), GOD =(energy) created the heavens =(space) and the earth =(matter).

If you took all the atoms in the universe and compressed their subatomic particles together, you would get a single piece of matter the size of a pea. Go ahead, look it up....

If that piece of matter was all the knowledge of the universe held within it, might it just explode so that it could physically feel what it is that it knew? Can you say BIG BANG?

Carl Sagan once said: "we are how the universe knows itself".

Nature loves a pattern. Take the Fibonacci sequence as an example. One can find so many examples in nature that are built upon that mathematical sequence.

    Nature simply loves a pattern!

Are mathematical sequences something random or does math have to come from an intelligent source?

If you take a 747 aircraft apart and throw the pieces in the air, will it fly as it was intended? or does it take an intelligent mathematical sequence to make it fly?

Are mathematical sequences something random …

The best you can hope for from a (purely) mathematical sequence is a so-called pseudorandom sequence.

… or does math have to come from an intelligent source?

Most mathematicians I've known have been pretty bright. What's your point?

If you take a 747 aircraft apart and throw the pieces in the air, will it fly as it was intended?

If the disassembly and the throwing were done by the same person, then clearly that person's intention was to study the aerodynamics of airplane pieces—not to be confused with the aerodynamics of an intact 747. So yes, the pieces will most likely fly the way that 747 pieces typically do when thrown into the air. What's your point?

… or does it take an intelligent mathematical sequence to make it fly?

In the scenario you describe, just a strong arm, or perhaps a really big trebuchet, if you want to get all the pieces in the air at once.

My point is there seems to be structure to the universe. Structure can only come from an intelligent source. It can not be random.

Nothing exists in the universe except energy. Everything else is just an illusion of reality and how we perceive it.

Did you know that no Nero-scientist or any brain doctor can tell you what part of the brain houses the mind?

Consciousness is the awareness of being aware.

Where is the mind if it is not in the brain?

check out "the global consciousness project" and the institute of noetic sciences...

Any neuroscientist or brain doctor purporting to tell you that the mind is a physical thing that is housed somewhere is, at best, pandering to you.
