Forget Sarah Palin, if you really want a leader who knows about energy in this country he is currrently residing in the White House.

Courtesy of Politico:

A federal report released Wednesday offers the latest indication that U.S. energy production will continue to boom in the coming decades amid surging production from shale while imports plummet and gasoline consumption falls below previous estimates.

The Energy Information Administration, in a summary of its 2013 Annual Energy Outlook, said domestic energy production will grow more quickly than consumption through 2040. And imports will fall from 19 percent of total U.S. energy consumption in 2011 to 9 percent in 2040.

The EIA also lowered its projections for gasoline consumption when compared with last year’s report, pointing to the Obama administration’s beefed-up fuel economy standards. Thanks to those standards, gasoline consumption in the transportation sector will fall by 0.5 million barrels per day in 2025 and by 1 million barrels per day in 2035 compared with last year’s projections.

Renewables will also see an expansion in the coming decades, EIA says. It projects the share of generation from renewables will increase from 13 percent in 2011 to 16 percent in 2040. But the report says the agency is “less optimistic” about “the ability of advanced biofuels to capture a rapidly growing share of the liquid fuels market.”

And this my friends is how you move America toward energy independence.

Somebody should go up to that Wasilla Wendigo and tell her to take her "Drill baby, drill" nonsense and put it where the sun don't shine and her husband now refuses to touch her.

Strong on defense, strong on energy, strong on tax cuts for the middle class, exactly what DO the Republicans still have in their political quiver these days? If they go with conservative social issues they will only continue to make themselves irrelevant.

So of course I think they should go with that!

And the more reports of Obama succeses come out, the crazier and louder will be the nonsense from the right. I read that they are still hanging their fading hopes on the new Congress and impeachment over Benghazi. No kiding. Instead of urging their GOP Congressmen to work for toward more jobs and a better America for all, they are still focused on gettign rid of possibly the best President we have ever had, only because he is a Democrat and black. What a bunch of evil, whiny, sick, heartless people. I bet when healthcare choice comes knocking on their trailer doors, they will turn out the lights and pretend not to be home. Had Bush had the soul to cteate this needed and humane program, they would be embracing it and constructing statues all over the country. But they aren't hypocrites.

What DO the Republicans still have in their political quiver these days, you ask?

was at at the stockyard restaurant in Tempe, AZ. last night and overheard a group of weatlhy looking folks talk about "her craziness" and were hoping she had also dumped her house in AZ as 'they don't want her here either" I had to be restrained to not turn around to see if it was John Mccain and then jump up and hug them, but did I turn around and flash a big smile. they were glad 'lil missy left the state too. they also did not care for Jan Brewer.

Waders on. today we see that we have little to worry about come 2016, because the Teabaggers and $carah psychophants (yes, i coined a new word)are really too stupid to learn ANYTHING. remember "skewed polls?"

I'm sick of the whole mindset that if we don't drill, frack all over the country, we'd do more harm to the environment and we'd never be energy independent. Big Oil and Coal funded Romney and were hoping for "payback".

Yeah, it was obscene, the amount of money raised by both parties, Thank You, Citizens United (I hope this is on Obama's to do list).

Imagine the billion plus Romney raised being put to good use by Obama?
