Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Final photo of the day.
You know seeing this would usually make me seethe with jealousy.
But do you know what? If ANYBODY deserves to frolic in the Hawaiian surf after a year like this it is President Barack Obama.
At least write a name under your comment, even if you don't want to register, so I can avoid your comments when I'm drinking heavily, but haven't yet read the memo from my bladder requesting some relief. That's what I get for staying 2 or 3 days behind reading comments for a couple of weeks.
I hope he does get in some good R&R! I can't imagine the stress of his job. I really don't know how he does it, though, I did hear him say he has a punching bag in his workout room. I wonder how many times they have had to repair it?
I don't know about seething with jealousy, but I am definitely feeling a bit of envy looking at that beautiful water. Our president absolutely deserves every moment of fun he's having right now...or any other time for that matter.
Absolutely agree! I thought he looked so tired the night of the "fiscal cliff" deal. This fall/winter season has surely weighed on him. Wish he could take a month off and spend it in Hawaii!
I respect our president soooo much. But I did like when the 'copter picked him up on the WH lawn and straight back to his family in Hawaii as those angry republicans were calling and trying to get flights home :)
You go, Mr. President. You enjoy a very well-earned vacation! If there is anyone who is in charge of our country, that deserves a vacation...I don't know who it is other than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton... May Mr. Obama and the secretary both have a few days off from the full-onslaught of the right's B.S.and ongoing hate machine....enjoy..You have both deserved some time off and a vacation..
He looked so tired and grim before he returned for his vacation; I was worried about him. This is a President who really cares about what's best for his country, now and going forward.
On the other hand; it was the worst Congress in history.
l love how Republicans make it seem as though he's gone to some foreign resort, when, in fact, he was born and spent many years in Hawaii. It's home for him and a Christmas trip before his grandmother died was always on the calendar. This is a family tradition --- and a well-earned one. Just because some Repubs are from East Ditch, Idaho -- that's their lot in life, I suppose.
I so agree....this is after all a man, not a robot, and he needs more than a few days back after being robbed a decent holiday rest with his family. I am sure Michelle was fuming at those assholes doing this on purpose while they are on perpetual vacation collecting their fat paychecks. It is amazing to watch the sheer hypocrisy going on with Christie and King....lock and step with that hateful party when it comes to poor people, teachers, firefighters...now they are sooooo surprised at their callousness, haha, what a joke. Just look at the amount of votes Pelosi got compared to Boehner, she was the best,he is the worst. Morning Joe has already figured out what 2014 will look like.
Wondering when and where that photo was taken. The weather here in Kailua has been rainy and cloudy the past 2 days, cooler than usual. My home is very near the Obama Kailua rental. I was just the other side of the road today when he and the girls (via motorcade) stopped at Island Snow for their traditional Hawaiian flavored shave ice treat. And yesterday my wife had to visit a client at Travis AF base and drove right by Air Force One parked on the tarmac. So for sure he is here, but not swimming in the sunshine.
It's a newly released photo from staff photographer Pete Sousa. However, the pic was taken one year ago at Pyramid Rock beach on Kaneohe Marine Base. Today when Gryph posted this photo our weather was this: http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/20500746/for-obama-gym-bowling-and-shave-ice
The man has one of the toughest jobs and deserves all the "down time" he can get. I wish he took vacations more often, but he's not wired like his predecessor, who must hold a world record for "Working Vacations".
Pete Sousa's year end photos are amazing. The one with Barack and Michelle at Valerie Jarret's daughter's wedding captures their soul, the one where he heard the news of the Sandy Hill massacre captures the deep hurt he felt, amazing stuff!
absolutely. and he has a lot of his appointments confirmed so the administration will have leadership in place in the coming months.
ReplyDeleteA halo wave.
ReplyDeleteHalo wave? LOL I get it-- that's funny as hell!

I agree!! Enjoy Mr. President! You deserve it!

ReplyDeleteAmen, Gryphen! He's our President and we're sure proud of him, and, yes, he deserves a vacation in Hawaii! Good for him and his beautiful family!

ReplyDeleteWhy not! Bushie spent months and months and months on vacation. More than any president in history, while Cheney et al were planning nefarious things.
DeletePBO knows he needs to keep watching the store, so he rarely vacations and good for us!
Yes!
ReplyDeleteThe Locals in Hawaii were too 'BROWN' for Grifter Granny, so she quit and left.

Very well said. I agree 100%!
DeleteR in NC
Good on him!! After all he has done and sacrificed for us, I can't begrudge him a vacation. Same for his family, as they have shared the sacrifices.
ReplyDeleteThis photo SCREAMS "Photoshop!" --but then....why? It quite likely is something the President is actually doing.
ReplyDeleteHopefully.
Talk about someone who deserves a vacation!
I thought so, too!!

ReplyDeleteyes, I do agree. He deserves this vacation, and probably needs it as well. The sea is healing.

My guess is that photo was taken a few years ago at Sandy Beach south of Honolulu while he was body surfing.
ReplyDeleteMope, I think it's a new pic

Great picture of President Obama! He looks right at home! Much better than chopping wood out in the boonies of Texas like Bushie.
ReplyDeleteOh, those silky waters, that warm air. Very healing. He has earned this moment.
