Hillary Clinton has found her post-State Department home on the World Wide Web. HillaryClintonOffice.com is bare-bones so-far, sporting only a picture of the former Secretary of State and a contact form.
According to registration data, the site was created Jan. 31, and was last edited Sunday. The URL was registered through GoDaddy.com.
Clinton’s 2008 campaign site, HillaryClinton.com, now links to HillaryClintonOffice.com.
So Hillary's OFFICIAL 2008 campaign website now links to THIS as of yet unofficial campaign website?
Still think she's not running?
You know the starkness of it kind of reminds of those bare bones promos for scary movies. They often have unsettling blurbs like "It's coming!," or "Don't look under the bed!," or "Just when you thought it was safe to run for President!"
Only, unlike most advertisements for upcoming frights, THIS ONE only scares the crap out of Republicans.
BOO!
Didn't you just diss GoDaddy for its sick Superbowl ads? what is the political persuasion of those who run/own GoDaddy anyway? Could they be creating a false Hillary website to lead her followers astray?
ReplyDeleteOr could this just be Hillary locking up certain urls before the Repubs or others grab them? In case? But not necessarily because it is so?
Two human beings kissing is sick to you? ooohkay.
DeleteAlso I don't think you understand how URL registration works.
oh, no go daddy--take it down quick
Deletefire her IT guy
As every smith knows: You have to shape the metal while it is hot.
ReplyDeleteSame goes for word-smiths, and Why Not? When you are out in front of the pack it is not the time to slack off.
When the Democratic nominee was still undecided in ´08, I told my daughter I would vote for Hillary over McCain and Obama.
ReplyDelete2016 is going to be interesting. The GOP has no answer for the House of Clinton.
Well, it will certainly worry Karl Rove. He's had an obsession of sorts with HiIlary for a long time. He was so sure Hillary was going to get the nomination in '08.
ReplyDeleteNever underestimate Rove. He's a nightmare that keeps coming back again and again and again.
Yup and he ought to be in jail!
DeleteGO Hillary GO! Ever since her penultimate smack downs in the Benghazi hearings, let 'em TRY to come after her in a presidential run.
ReplyDeleteFor now, let's hope she rests up and fully heals from the health issues she's had!
I like it that she is looking more rested and put together these days, and totally Presidential!
DeleteSpeaking of misleading things, that atheist Superbowl ad you liked was put out there by the creepy Scientologists.
ReplyDeletethat was already touched on....more than a few times....in that very thread....pay attention....?....eh
DeleteAnything that wigs out Karl Rove is A-OK with me. So if Hillary wants to host a somewhat enigmatic website for now, more power to her!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. I used it to let her know I would support her no matter what her decision will be, and that definitely includes finances.
ReplyDeleteDamn she looks good!
ReplyDeleteI was not at all a Hillary supporter in 2008...or anytime before that either. She was pretty ugly during the primaries.
But as I have watched and listened to her in her role as SOS, I have slowly begun to see a different Hillary. A Hillary that is comfortable in her own skin, her own authority, her own accomplishments. A Hillary that isn't vying for non stop attention. A Hillary that stands strongly on her own, more gracious and dignified than ever in her life.
I credit her association with President Obama as having at least some part of that refinement process. His style and grace had to have rubbed off on her to some degree. However, I give her huge credit for accepting the position after such a hard fought campaign, and SHINING in her tenure as our SOS.
I WILL vote for her if she chooses to run for president in 2016, and with huge enthusiasm.
Where, where?!
DeleteExcellent summation, 12:10 PM! I could not have said it better!
Deleteyep.. me too
DeleteExposed: The Dark-Money ATM of the Conservative Movement
ReplyDeleteWorking out of an nondescript brick rowhouse in suburban Virginia, a little-known organization named Donors Trust, staffed by five employees, has steered hundreds of millions of dollars to the most influential think tanks, foundations, and advocacy groups in the conservative movement. Over the past decade, it has funded the right's assault on labor unions, climate scientists, public schools, economic regulations, and the very premise of activist government. Yet unlike its nearest counterpart on the progressive side, the Tides Foundation, a bogeyman of Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly, Donors Trust has mostly avoided any real scrutiny. It is the dark-money ATM of the right.
Founded in 1999, Donors Trust (and an affiliated group, Donors Capital Fund) has raised north of $500 million and doled out $400 million to more than 1,000 conservative and libertarian groups, according to Whitney Ball, the group's CEO. Donors Trust allows wealthy contributors who want to donate millions to the most important causes on the right to do so anonymously, essentially scrubbing the identity of those underwriting conservative and libertarian organizations. Wisconsin's 2011 assault on collective bargaining rights? Donors Trust helped fund that. ALEC, the conservative bill mill? Donors Trust supports it. The climate deniers at the Heartland Institute? They get Donors Trust money, too.
Donors Trust is not the source of the money it hands out. Some 200 right-of-center funders who've given at least $10,000 fill the group's coffers. Charities bankrolled by Charles and David Koch, the DeVoses, and the Bradleys, among other conservative benefactors, have given to Donors Trust. And other recipients of Donors Trust money include the Heritage Foundation, Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform, the NRA's Freedom Action Foundation, the Cato Institute, the American Enterprise Institute, the Federalist Society, and the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, chaired (PDF) by none other than David Koch.

The white South’s last defeat
ReplyDeleteHysteria, aggression and gerrymandering are a fading demographic's last hope to maintain political control
...But it is difficult, if not impossible, for many white Southerners to disentangle regional culture (Southern) from race (white) and ethnicity (British Protestant). The historical memory of white Southerners is not of ethnic coexistence and melting-pot pluralism but of ethnic homogeneity and racial privilege. Small wonder that going from the status of local Herrenvolk to local minority in only a generation or two is causing much of the white South to freak out.

The rise of the female White House prospect
ReplyDeleteOne way or another, a woman will be in the mix for the next Democratic nomination -- and for each one after it too

House of Clinton?
ReplyDeleteOh, ye gods and fishes... NO!!!
NO DAMNED DYNASTIES!
Government is a job not an inherited entitlement.
That was funny! Satire at it's best.
DeleteStill don't think she will run - also too - why does it have to be Presidential elections over 4 years - there is a current President, doing amazing things
ReplyDeleteHillary has been supporting PBO for the past 4 years - hopefully she will be to the forefront in 2014 helping to turn the house blue.
Why would Republicans be afraid of Hillary. She was supposed to be a shoo in for 2008, and she couldn't even beat an unknown Obama in the Primary.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing the Republicans have to fear in 2016 is having as weak a crop of offbeat crazies running as they did this election. If they figure out a way to get though the primary without pandering to the lunatic fringe, they might field a credible candidate. Christie is probably the favorite at this point.
I love me some Hillary! :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, my fear is a prolonged bitter primary battle along the lines of the Repub last year. I think there needs to be a primary, but don't make it last long an dont get too ugly. I think one of the biggest assets the Dems can have is if they pull together early and easily. Need to have the same message and all the little soliders need to be in place to get the word out. I truly hope Joe Biden does not run. We don't need Pres Obama's loyalty tested and cause a rif in the Democratic party.
I have a feeling that it will come down to Hillary vs Christie and that is going to be one hell of a fight.
I am a Hillary supporter, but I wonder if this is legitimate. Using GoDaddy? Somehow I think Hillary's organization would use something better than GoDaddy. I'm hoping this isn't going to turn into some kind of hoax.
ReplyDeletedon't wet your suit pants kids.
ReplyDeleteit's not happening.
I love it! One website and the whammbulances are lined up already! Can't wait for her to announce.
