Teabaggers upset that even pro wrestling is now mocking them. Okay, now THAT'S funny!

Courtesy of the You Tube site:

World Wrestling Entertainment has jumped on the bandwagon of demonizing Tea Party Americans as racists by creating a xenophobic character who espouses anti-immigrant rhetoric, as WWE commentators quip that he receives "fan mail" from Alex Jones, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.

I actually saw this video yesterday and it took me all day to stop laughing at it, and what it signifies, long enough to write this post.

Here is the thing that really cracks me up about it. Essentially if you scan the crowds at a pro-wrestling event you will see that they VERY closely reflects the same types of middle aged, over weight, white people that also show up at these right wing Tea Party events.

In other words this kind of mocking will be broadcast right into the living rooms of the very people that the Teabaggers are desperate to attract to their cause.

And let's face it, once pro-wrestling starts to poke fun at you, then you are essentially done being taken seriously in this country.

P.S. By the way, this video was posted by Prison Planet Live, which is a site run by Alex Jones. You might remember him from his appearance on the Piers Morgan show.

So, pro-wrestling can mock them and try to put them in their place, but "elder statesmen" in their own party, like Boehner, McCain, Graham and McConnell are afraid to. And they give teabaggots like Cruz and Rand prominent committee assignments so they can spew their hatefulness and stupidity across the country during televised hearings. Very sad commentary on what passes for political courage today.

But they pretend to be "for them ", so some of the baggers are confused. Some of them sense that maybe they are being made fun of but aren't sure. Others are completely oblivious and will agree, "Fuck them Mexican bastards. They tuk our jerbs!!!"

To us as adults, it's like we are using "baby talk" to communicate with a 5-yr old. A smart 5-yr old will be insulted and say "don't talk to me like that! I'm not a baby!!!", whereas a coddled, thumb-sucking kindergartner might respond in the same "baby-talk" tone, while hiding behind his Mommy's skirt.

Unfortunately, I believe they haven't the intelligence to recognize they are being MOCKED. I'd be willing to bet one of those a**holes will try to sue.

You're right Leland. Look how long it took republicans to figure out Colbert was not one of them but was making fun of them.

Wait a minute... Colbert IS a Republican, and he LOVES Sarah. I heard him say that the other night. I bet he takes his happy family to Applebees and celebrates as they enjoy their private lives and whatnot. Grow up and be mature. Only miserable people think Stephen Colbert is a dimmocrap.

Quit thinking random hateful things and spreading lies. Colbert is the best Republican commentator, much better that that Bill O'Reilly who was so rude to Sarah. Grow up, hater, and quit being so random.

If she said the word random twice in her screed, KP is probably Krusty, the banned and 'cease and desist' Palin stalker who is glued to the Internet all day with her bedpan right beside her for when nature summons her.

You know... I kind of always expected to see Sarah Palin - or at least Bristol - in a sleazy costume, strutting around a pro wrestling ring between rounds carrying the round card.

...still not too late for that, I suppose.

That's no way to sell tickets to the next fight, to see either a cow or a corpse plodding around the ring between rounds. That's the way to start a long line at the refund counter. Or a run on barf bags.

Yesterday I saw an article about a pro wrestling star who was arrested on a DUI. The picture looked like the guy you have in the article. Tried to find where I saw it but have been unable to. Pro wrestling is one of the creepiest things on tv.

GULFPORT -- Wrestler Jack Swagger, whose legal name is Donald Jacob Hager, was arrested in Gulfport late Tuesday after he left the taping of a television show at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.

  7. I read somewhere else that this new wrestling character -- the xenophobic character Jack Swagger and his manager Zeb Colter -- is a sign that Linda McMahon is committed to promoting WWE now and won't be running for office any time soon.

Yeah, Linda is willing to throw the crazies under the bus and cash in on the Teabagger as marks story line.

As a kid, I was a big fan of wrestling after Ted Turner pushed his super-station (WTCG and then later WTBS) onto cable systems nationwide (pre-CNN), and they were always plugging these nationalist themes with all-American types holding up the US flag after kicking some "foreigner's" butt. Bad guys included Ivan Kohloff (the Russian Bear from Moscow--Idaho, I'll bet), Abdula the Butcher (from Iran. wink wink), Kamala the Giant (if I recall, he was a "general" in Idi Amin's Ugandan army lol).

Anyway, the tea party is a perfect foil for a script, but it has to be simple bc the wrestling crowds need a heel (bad guy) and a face ( the good guy that the wrestling assn wants to promote). Nuance goes nowhere with the dummies, and only confuses them. The Tea Party actors of today are really bad actors in the same type of entertainment business, except that there are more idiots today that can't recognize satire, and some of them (like the PeeBots) actually support their own personal idiot as though she was family.

Why the WWE doesn't have a Failing' n Bailin' Queen Quitter character satirizing Sarah, I don't know, but that might be the direction that the McMahons take, because she's so easy to spoof and has done so much dumb shit in only 4 years. She'd be a great "manager" to be ringside and incite the crowd with her "Don't you people love your freedom?" or "You all just want a bunch of free stuff!!!" or whatever.

It stands to reason. The fake nature of "pro" wrestling fits in perfectly with the delusions of the tbungers. I wouldn't be surprised if this new character is nothing more than an attempt to pander to the tbungers in the audience. Get them all riled up and frothy at the corners of their mouths!! And then bring out the black wrestler! (They'll have him lose every time...)

WWE Invites Glenn Beck On Monday Night RAW To Address ‘Tea Party Villain’ Controversy — Did He Accept?

After Glenn Beck blasted the “stupid wrestling people” at WWE for their controversial “racist Tea Party” Jack Swagger® and Zeb Colter® characters, the pro wrestling organization has invited the conservative radio host to appear on next week’s Monday Night RAW and address the sport face-to-face.

“WWE is giving Beck the opportunity to address our 14 million weekly viewers and our global fan base, as he believes we are offending our ‘conservative’ fans with this storyline,” the wrestling organization’s invitation-via-press-release reads.

They go on to explain the rationale for painting Swagger and Colter as right-wing “nutjobs” and pitting him against a Mexican hero for the “heavyweight championship”:

Similar to other television shows and feature films, WWE is in the entertainment business, creating fictional characters that serve as protagonists or antagonists. To create compelling and relevant content for our audience, it is important to incorporate current events into our storylines. WWE is creating a rivalry centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view. This storyline was developed to build the Mexican American character Del Rio into a hero given WWE’s large Latino base, which represents 20 percent of our audience.

So… did Beck accept the invitation? Time will tell.

But let’s all take some time to pray to the Gods of Television tonight because HOLY HELL that would be awesome TV.

Glenn Beck Hits Rock Bottom and Gets Offered an Appearance By the WWE

Glenn Beck may be this close to finally fulfilling his sideshow clown destiny as he has been offered a chance to appear on World Wrestling Entertainment’s Monday Night to defend the Tea Party.

Right wing media is steaming with outrage over the WWE’s creation of a new villian based on the tea party. The new character named Zeb Coulter, who is really Dutch Mantel for you older fans, delivered a State of the Union address during this week’s Monday Night Raw.
