The ad, which ran nationally on MSNBC this afternoon, features one man named “Gary” approaching his friend’s new Passat.
The driver opens the window and breaks the bad news to his buddy: “I bought the last one.”
“But it says here you can get one for $199 a month,” Gary insists, pointing to a newspaper ad in his hand.
“You can’t believe the lamestream media,” the driver responds. “They’re all gone.”
“Maybe I’ll get one,” Gary persists.
But nope, “they’re all gone.”
So apparently THIS is Sarah Palin's contribution to American culture.
A ridiculous, easily mocked smear of the American media.
I can live with that.

If you were to stand up in just about any gathering and as those in the the room where they first heard this used they would, to a person, most likely identify Sarah Palin.
And I think the advertisers were playing on that connection to drive home how ridiculous is was to discount the advertisement written in the newspaper,

We'll give her "Mis-remember", "Squirmish", and. "Skookums", none of which should be flattering. None of Sarah's "originals" even qualify for clever malapropisms. Without the nasally screech, they wouldn't be memorable.
DeleteIt's the Miss South Carolina mental overload effect. Sarah's not thinking about what she's saying cognitively. She's working off a white board in her brain, looking for those goddam talking points and key words that she's tried to commit to memory. That's why she ends up repeating the same "new word" 3 times in the 1st sentence that she introduces her new vocab word of the day, and then 3 or 4 times in the same breathless 2 minute sound bite. She's afraid if she doesn't throw it out there, it will escape and be gone forever. Poof! Hint: index cards, writing on hand, rather than "thinking". I know too much about this woman that she has yet to admit to herself. Maybe when she reads this, she'll come for all her deceptions, so she can begin to forgive herself. Hmmm. Or maybe not
