"What am I supposed to do here Rush?" |
Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday charged that House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa went soft on IRS official Lois Lerner.
“Issa basically let her get away with it,” the conservative talk show host said, according to a transcript. “She’s gone. He looked clueless, like didn’t know what was going on, didn’t know how to deal with this.”
Limbaugh’s comments came after the House Oversight Committee held hearings concerning reports that the IRS had targeted conservative groups with extra scrutiny. Lerner, the director of the IRS division in question, tapped her Fifth Amendment rights to not incriminate herself at the hearing, declining to answer further questions after asserting that she had done nothing wrong in an opening statement. Later on Wednesday, Issa said Lerner will be called before the committee again, telling POLITICO that the Fifth Amendment doesn’t hold after she gave a statement.
“When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa (R-Calif.) said. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
NO, she DIDN'T waive anything! As Lawrence O'Donnell had pointed out on his show last night her initial statements do not negate her ability to plead the fifth.
And what is more the Congress, which is bulging at the seams with politicians who have law degrees, undoubtedly KNOW THAT!
So WHY is Issa threatening to bring Lerner back?
Because the average conservative is too stupid to understand the law, and they get their information from this asshole:
After IRS official Lois Lerner pleaded the Fifth Amendment during Wednesday afternoon’s House committee hearings on the agency’s intentional targeting of conservative groups, Rush Limbaugh took to bashing the woman as someone “filled with rage” who he can easily envision as a sadomasochist.
“I can see her with whips and chains. This is not a happy woman. This is a woman that is running around filled with rage. And they all are, folks. They’re angry all the time. They’re never satisfied. And no matter what they get, it’s never enough, they always want more. They exist in a permanent state of being enraged.”
I am assuming that this "they" who Limbaugh keeps referring to are either liberals or women, or perhaps a combination of the two. Either way it indicates an incredible amount of prejudice and lack of intelligence. And yet THIS is the go to guy when Republicans politicians need advice on what to do.
So Issa, terrified of upsetting millions of paint chip eaters, is going to call Lois Lerner back in front of the committee.
Gee I wonder how she will respond?
Can you say "Waste of government time and resources?" I knew that you could.
The GOP continues to figure out new ways to totally annoy women, students, minorities. Which party is the party of rage? Every time any conservative tries to describe liberals as angry, they are really just describing themselves.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard Limbaugh's voice, yet every time I read some rant he's made I visualize him venting all of his bile in his very best impression of Garner Ted Armstrong's voice. I don't know why I do that, it just happens.
ReplyDeleteVery strange; I guess we're all doomed, at least me.
Rush is a seriously sexually frustrated individual. Whips and chains? He is giving himself away. One of his Sandra Fluke comments was that he wanted to see videos of her having sex. He is absolutely repugnant.
ReplyDelete"Waste of government time and resources?"
Oh! Oh! I've got one! $55,000,000 to repeal Obamacare for the 37th time.
I thought Rush could never top the Sandra Fluke "slut" tirade but "whips and chains" tells us even more about Rush's mental illness with regard to women.
Delete"They’re angry all the time. They’re never satisfied. And no matter what they get, it’s never enough, they always want more. They exist in a permanent state of being enraged.”

Gee, Rush must be admiring himself in the mirror as he is spewing and spouting and spitting this out of his foaming mouth.
Or is he actually squawking about his kissin'-cous'n Ol' $creechy? Two peas in pod - those two are.
Those are not Rush's words. He pays people to write that shit for him.
DeleteI'm one of them.
Heh, heh, heh.
pray tell, tell us more!

DeleteIf you write that shit, then you're an asshole too.
The majority are so sick of these Republicans to include the asshole Rush Limbaugh...Palin, etc. Upcoming elections will reflect it! They obstruct, lie, whine and cry all the time!!
ReplyDeleteOne possible reason for recalling Lerner: to try to bankrupt her. She will have to pay thousands, probably tens of thousands, in extra legal fees now, and Issa knows this. Issa is trying to trap each and every witness so that, even if they tell the truth, he can turn it into a criminal prosecution. Not saying that it would succeed, but that he could initiate things that could be legally horrific for any witness – even a truthful witness. And THAT is why any witness with even two gray cells in their head who got called before this Congress would have to hire an expensive (very expensive) DC lawyer and plead the Fifth. Issa and all the rest of them know this, and they realize that breaking the person financially (and emotionally, as a result) is just part of the game.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare, for a person who probably had no political motive whatsoever. Issa is a shit.
DeleteWho pays Lois Lerner's legal fees? American taxpayers?
DeleteHe seems to be ranting about all his ex wives, the ones he bought and paid for. None want to stay, even with all that money, so Rush is upset. I wonder how these people would act if the A.G pulled an Alberto Gonzales, and his "I do not recall" answer to EVERY question? He appeared to have early onset dementia. Pity Rush, he lost so many sponsors, I am sure his paycheck is shrinking, along with everything else he has!!
ReplyDeleteTwo things, 10:51. First, there is at least one thing he has which probably CAN'T shrink any more (which may help explain why he has had four wives and why he hates women).
DeleteAnd second, the man is a fat pig. Maybe with any luck his heart will give out soon. I'm not one to usually display that sort of sentiment, but there ARE people who should be removed because they do nothing except spew and encourage hate.
Karl Rove was worse. He ignored subpoenas and refused to appear before Senate and House Judiciary Committees.

Rove, Limbaugh and Gingrich have bellies hanging over their belts so far, they probably have not seen their "man parts" in YEARS.
Deletethe only thing fat ass, drug addled, draft dodging, boil butted rushbo knows about women is how much he has to pay them to be his beard and not spill their guts after the divorce.
ReplyDeleteThese inquiries remind me of the "red herring" hearings that were held in the 1950s. Sound and Fury which result in nothing. Time and money wasted on the spoof, the whole spoof, and anything but the truth. Posturing jerkoffs, all of them.
ReplyDeleteHey, Rush... Projection much? Who is it that's enraged all the time? Always wants more? Trying to conceal stuff?
ReplyDeleteWe're on to ya...
GOP Senator Pours Cold Water On Palin Comeback
ReplyDeletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/23/sarah-palin-alaska-senate_n_3326453.html
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) told The Hill on Wednesday that people shouldn't get too excited about the prospect of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin mounting a political comeback in her home state of Alaska.
"I think there are a lot of outside interests that would like to see Sarah Palin in some form of elected office. Most in Alaska recognize our former governor is really not involved in or engaged in the state anymore, that she’s moved to other interests," Murkowski said. "In order for you to represent the state of Alaska, you've got to be in the state."
Stand by for an onslaught from Palinbots, Lisa.
DeleteEven though they know it is true, they will still attack you.
Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican party. I have yet to see anyone in the GOP take him on and not either apologize or walk back their comments the next day.
ReplyDeleteI think the other commentators nailed it. Rush is projecting at the very least about his current wife and probably all the ex's too. Angry all the time? Never satisfied? Yup, that sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteIf at first you don't succeed, repeal Obamacare. Issa and Limbaugh deserve each other.
ReplyDeleteSo the second ammendment is sacrosanct, but the fifth is not?
