Rachel Maddow demands that ABC apologize for allowing the Republicans to manipulate them, and suggests they give up their GOP sources.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

This was my favorite part:"If your source lied to you, they are not actually a source, they are a con artist. And you are their victim. It means you don't have to protect them anymore."

Absolutely correct!

In fact ABC should not be considered a credible news source until they do that very thing.

The Republicans fed them false information in order to damage a sitting President of the United States. Until ABC News provides the names of those individuals they are complicit with a partisan attack on our Commander-in-Chief.

Sounds a little like treason to me.

It should be exposed who actually doctored these emails. I hope they investigate this and expose - much as was done when Clinton was running for office. The Republican party came out and apologized and someone was actually fired - an investigator.

People are really getting sick and tired of the Republicans and they will be hurt by this idiotic crap they keep spewing about President Obama and the White House that is NOT correct.

Thank God President Obama is in the White House and not McCain or Romney!

This has the stench of Karl Rove all over it.

  5. IF ABC doesn’t have the stones to actually step up and admit THEY LIED based on being manipulated, they are the same as Cluster-Fox. There is a new avenue for career growth between the two networks and Rupe has won the corruption of the networks war that he has waged for the last 30 years.

ALL, their credibility is forfeit. ALL their peoples reputations are forfeit. They are nothing.

A Right-Wing Mole at ABC News

Conservatives don’t just complain loudly, endlessly and inaccurately about liberal media bias. They also train right-leaning journalists to make their way into the supposedly hostile terrain of Beltway media. And one of the most famous alums of a conservative media training program is now a major star at a network news outlet: ABC’s senior political correspondent Jonathan Karl.

Karl came to mainstream journalism via the Collegiate Network, an organization primarily devoted to promoting and supporting right-leaning newspapers on college campuses (Extra!, 9-10/91)—such as the Rutgers paper launched by the infamous James O’Keefe (Political Correction, 1/27/10). The network, founded in 1979, is one of several projects of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, which seeks to strengthen conservative ideology on college campuses. William F. Buckley was the ISI’s first president, and the current board chair is American Spectator publisher Alfred Regnery. Several leading right-wing pundits came out of Collegiate-affiliated papers, including Ann Coulter, Dinesh D'Souza, Michelle Malkin, Rich Lowry and Laura Ingraham (Washington Times, 11/28/04).

The Collegiate Network also provides paid internships and fellowships to place its members at corporate media outlets or influential Beltway publications; 2010-11 placements include the Hill, Roll Call, Dallas Morning News and USA Today. The program’s highest-profile alum is Karl, who was a Collegiate fellow at the neoliberal New Republic magazine.

After a stint at the New York Post, Karl soon found his way to CNN, but he was still connected to ideological pursuits; he was a board member at the right-leaning youth-oriented Third Millennium group and at the Madison Center for Educational Affairs—which, like the Collegiate Network, seeks to strengthen young conservative journalism. After moving to ABC in 2003, Karl contributed several pieces to the neo-con Weekly Standard, such as his April 4, 2005 article praising Bush Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as out to “make her mark with the vigorous pursuit of the president’s freedom and democracy agenda.”

Karl’s high profile at ABC demonstrates that conservative messages can find a comfortable home inside the so-called “liberal” media...

Karl Rove and the Republicans STILL have no clue that Americans are on to them. They were last time when President Obama and VP Biden were reelected! Republicans - you lost big time - get over it!

But, they continue on in their madness - are NOT connecting to the black and brown portion of Americans and ARE going to lose more positions in government across the nation.

I can hardly wait to see their continued demise. They are creating the problems ALL ON THEIR OWN - they don't even need help from the Left in bringing them down!

WATCH: In New Ad, Mother Of Mass-Shooting Victim Rips Senator Who Betrayed Her

Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) probably should have seen this coming when he decided to lie to the mother of a heroic mass-shooting victim.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns has released a new ad attacking Flake for his double-talk on expanding gun sale background checks. The spot features Caren Teves, whose son Alex was shot and killed shielding his fiancĂ©e during the Aurora, Colorado movie-theater shooting in July, 2012. Teves later wrote a letter to Senator Flake urging him to support a tougher gun laws, to which Flake replied “strengthening background checks is something we agree on.” Shortly thereafter, Flake voted against the Manchin-Toomey bill to expand background checks to cover all commercial gun sales.

Now Teves is calling the freshman senator out for his deception:

I plan to tune ABC out from now on. Hopefully, others do the same thing to decrease their viewership and force an apology.

They appear to be as corrupt as FOX! Dr. Rachel Maddow was correct in calling for the apology. I'd like to find out the name of who actually altered the emails...they should be disclosed and fired as a source to ABC.

5 Other ‘Scandals’ That Were Supposed To Destroy Obama

Throughout the past week, revelations regarding the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups, the Department of Justice’s decision to subpoena the phone records of over 100 Associated Press journalists, and the Republican Party’s continued obsession with a supposed cover-up in Benghazi have left President Barack Obama on the defensive. As a result, many in the media are speculating that the president has been fatally wounded politically, and Republicans are openly discussing impeachment.

This is not the first time they have predicted Obama’s demise, however. In fact, the president’s four-plus years in office have been littered with “bombshells” that were supposed to destroy his credibility, only to land with a thud when presented to the American public.

Here are five “scandals” that were supposed to destroy President Obama.

I personally think President Obama is so much smarter than the Republicans. They keep trying to destroy him and he is able to counter them every friggin' time!

Won't it be fun when he goes down as one of the best presidents the nation has ever had? Perhaps he'll end up on Mt. Rushmore. I hope I'm around when either one of those two things occur.

The Republicans are creating their own demise - entirely on their own. I suspect more and more of them will not be reelected.

And also they tried with the Boston bombings, drone strikes, planned parenthood, acorn...they just keep getting more and more desperate to try and 'pin' something on this amazing man and it just keeps sliding off his shoulders...or should I say he keeps brushing it off his shoulders. Gryphen had a great .gif image a while back of him dusting off his shoulder, but I'm too lazy to go and find it.

Jumping on the bandwagon? From chuckes jr's blog

"A few weeks ago, I was warned that my posts were being monitored and that I better watch my back. It bothered me enough to lay off my posts. Now I'm seeing that people, the press, and groups are definitely being targeted by the Government."

Hey, Chuck! Nobody cares what you're doing.

If you are being monitored, you'd better hope you don't have any involvement in your sister or brother-in-law's dirty dealings because you'll go down with them.

Maher: If You Think Benghazi is the Worst Scandal in American History, Call Your Doctor

Bill Maher had some advice for Obama haters who have been going crazy over what Susan Rice said on the Sunday shows and who are claiming that the drummed up Benghazi B.S. by Republicans is somehow the "worst scandal in American history" during his New Rules segment this Friday night.

As he noted after running through the list of scandals that are actually worse which we went through during Republican administrations, if anyone actually believes that nonsense about Benghazi "then your hard-on for Obama has lasted for more than four hours, and you need to call a doctor."

That about sums up what's been wrong with Republicans ever since the black guy got elected president, but I don't think they're going to find a cure for their hatred any time soon.

All Three GOP-Manufactured Scandals Falling Apart

I stated from the beginning that all of the current scandals (Benghazi, IRS, AP) afflicting the President at this time have been manufactured; manufactured through lies, deception, and misinformation by the GOP. Most importantly, the President and many liberals have found it expedient to accept more responsibility than is necessary in the attempt to “stop the bleeding.” This is no different from an innocent person pleading guilty in order to get a deterministic sentence instead of an unknown sentence that could be more or less than warranted.

To be sure, there are problems with this administration in many areas. But, sadly, those areas like “support” for the Keystone pipeline, support for some sort of austerity, however minimal, and policies in general that are not progressive enough have not been the cause of GOP ire as much as those are the things they actually support.

I have been waiting for a real assessment on the scandals. Lo and behold, Lawrence O’Donnell finally did it: The IRS scandal did not occur in this President’s administration. It occurred in 1959. As explained by O’Donnell:

ABC News won't correct themselves, just like CNN never corrected their support for the Steubenville Rapist while ignoring the victims.

The sign of a real journalist is when they admit they're wrong. How many times have we seen Rachel and Ed Schultz and others correct their errors, and if egregious enough, took the onus to genuinely apologize and show they mean it by leaving their show for a period of time? Ed Schultz DID and WOULD again.

Jon Karl should lose his job.
