Tonight "Though the Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman returns.

"Or did humanity invent God."

Well you know what I think.

I LOVE shows like this!

Shows that make you think.

Programs that challenge your perceptions and shake the foundations of your reality.

No safe, saccharine, fairy tales here, only the gritty uncertainty of science.

Personally I would not have it any other way.

I LOVE Morgan Freeman. Intelligent, savvy, calm, collected, and oh if there IS a God, he sounds like Morgan.

Darn, the video didn't work for me. I do like Morgan Freeman, and his voice on "War of the Worlds" is so powerful and demands attention.

But, I think God created science. He came first, and everything else came from Him.

If all universal matter just happened, who or what made it happen? Science can't define that. When a big bang event happened, who or what orchestrated it? There has to be a planner, an architect, a project force, that put some thought into this infinite universe and planet. We can't take one iota of credit, we, mankind, for any of this. Who or what caused all of this grand scheme?

I asked myself these questions when I was young. I sought answers and found God, and not just by word of mouth. He's real, folks.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but if the bible says that God "created man in his image", then ultimately your statement is false, as the deity responsible for this planning and creation of the universe is then simply a Man, albeit one assigned extraordinary powers over others.

In my opinion we simply don't yet have the scientific capability to fully explain the origins of the universe, however I personally don't think a higher power, who created humans in his image, is responsible.

Though, that's why it's called "faith" and not "certainty".

At this point there is more evidence pointing towards a scientific explanation than there is any evidence pointing towards a divine one.

Faith should never trump science; they are two very different things.

    think about it:

“If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims.”

    Ditto ! science rocks

Everyone of course can belief what they want -- but for me there doesn't need to be "an architect or planner" for the universe -- it is a wonderous place, and I'm fine with not having all the answers -- myth and religion are just ways for our brains to try and comprehend what we don't know yet - eventually science will be able to explain a lot more and the need for myths will fade.

Brilliantly stated my friend..organized religion was just a way to control the sheep. I have enormous spiritual faith...in myself, and it doesn't come from a book. The world is so damn amazing in diversity, I am constantly in awe of its beauty, and destructive powers. The power of one...can change the world, good or bad. Morgan Freeman is a rock star in my opinion and I never miss his Worm Hole shows.

I dont yhink weve even begun to tap the capacities of our brains. Earth could be a test or could be a punishment. Try to reach or restore pur true capacities. Religipn is a trick to keep us from reaching our potential.
Could be. One theoryy has to be right. All religions surely cant be right.

Funny I should read this now, my husband is watching the re-runs as I read my daily blogs. I love Morgan Freeman in anything he does. This show really makes you think, I consider myself spiritual, but open minded.
