Anchorage police say two men were shot in the leg during two separate discharges of the same handgun Thursday morning in a Fairview neighborhood.
Someone in an apartment complex near East 10th Avenue and Ingra Street reported at 9:13 a.m. that a man had been shot, according to dispatch logs.
The first man was holding a handgun inside his apartment when the gun discharged and he was shot in the leg, police said. He dropped the gun and left, headed for the hospital. As the man left the apartment, witnesses told officers, they heard another shot from inside the apartment -- the second man had also been shot in the leg, police said. The circumstances surrounding the second shooting remain under investigation.
Now usually you would think that this is a VERY bizarre story.
But I actually lived in Fairview for a brief time in my twenties and I am here to tell you that this is par for the course. We used to refer to these kinds of things as "the weekend."
I am going to assume that there may have been a little drinking going on.
I love this part.
No charges have been filed.
Yeah well maybe not yet, but if I were that gun I would get a good lawyer. After all it apparently attacked two different men for no apparent reason.
I mean one shooting could be blamed on an accident, but two makes it seem to me that the gun has some sort of vendetta against people.
Hey, it's an annual thing and whatnot. Never forget!

And if a toddler got hit in the stomach or head, would charges be filed or would the spokesman shake her head and say it was a 'tragic accident.'
ReplyDeleteLoaded guns (and guns mistaken for being unloaded) go off and hit things, who would have thunk it?
If this becomes a habit we'll be hearing Freaky LaPierre claiming that a good guy with a gun can beat a bad gun.
ReplyDeleteNow Now.....
ReplyDeleteGuns don't kill people....
People kill people.
That gun needs to be "put down."
ReplyDeleteSeems like guns are trying to tell these NRA types something. I mean, guys are losing their family jewels, their lives, being shot in the leg, their kids and spouses are dying...maybe the guns would prefer to be owned by people with brains after all.
ReplyDeleteCan we buy this magic gun and give it to Sarah and Todd?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine living in one of those apartments with loaded guns and loaded peabrains together. I'd ask for a break from the lease and move out of there. Someone of a child could have been hit if the gun had discharged aiming at the wall and killed someone in the next apartment. It's insane.
ReplyDeleteLandlords in AK are going to have to advertise their rentals in two categories: apartment complexes with permission to carry loaded weapons, and apartment complexes where tenants do not carry or own weapons. I'd say the only tenants in the first 'loaded' complex would all die within a year from gunshot wounds, or die from shame.
Gryphen, I can't find much on it, but it seems Ted PooMyPants Nugents wife was arrested with a firearm at the airport in Dallas.

Where does it say he dropped the gun and it shot the other man? It says they don't know the circumstances
ReplyDeleteIn the link, on the ADN page, that Gryphen quoted verbatim.

G, just heard about the 7.0 earthquake out east of AK (Aleutian Islands) - no doubt you may not have felt it, but check out for tsunamis and be safe.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant western AK.
DeleteGryphen, here's a roundup of the latest on traitor Snowden and Greenwald and his buddy Miranda. So many lies...
ReplyDelete'I was initially horrified by #Miranda detention and it was just intimidation by UK. Seems I was wrong, given what was in his possession.'
'We are getting a sense now of how much Greenwald has lied about the whole #NSA story. Worse, Glenn really is a lie at this point.'
'There's a word for delivering classified national security documents to an unfriendly foreign govt. And that word is not "journalism."'

'Miranda was detained with 58,000 encrypted docs & a handwritten passcode. One file contains names & locations of agents.'
'The UK court ruling shows, once again, how brazenly Greenwald lied about the incident.'

Proof That Edward Snowden Engaged In Espionage
NBC News reported that Edward Snowden used his administrative access to enter the accounts of other NSA employees with higher level classification with the intent to take information. That should once and for all settle the fact that Edward Snowden engaged in espionage and was not merely acting as a whistle blower.

Yup.These guys are traitors, pure and simple.
ReplyDeleteMurika, the land when you're free to get shot by the idiot next door....
ReplyDeleteland of the free, home of the dead.
ReplyDeleteI love how people just hold guns and BOOM!, they "go off". I wonder if this gun was recalled for spontaneously discharging just by being touched.
ReplyDeleteDo guns in Fairview have these things called "triggers"?
Hahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteFunny, very funny!
