Well my Republican friends, I believe I can see you shaking in fear from here. |
Republican Party leaders voted to prohibit 2016 presidential primary debate partnerships with NBC and CNN if the networks air planned programs highlighting Hillary Clinton.
“These programming decisions are an attempt to show political favoritism and put a thumb on the scales for the next presidential election,” said a resolution approved today at a Republican National Committee meeting in Boston.
Party Chairman Reince Priebus has called the shows free advertising for Clinton, who may become his party’s biggest hurdle to winning the White House.
“A network that spends millions of dollars to spotlight Hillary Clinton is a network with an obvious bias,” he said to a standing ovation from the RNC members before the vote. “And that’s a network that won’t be hosting a single Republican primary debate.”
This is amazing!
Have you ever seen a major political party THIS terrified of a potential candidate from the other party before?
I mean EVER?
And if they are NOT going to broadcast their debates on NBC and CNN then who is ever going to see them?
Update: By the way the RNC may have a significant problem with the younger voters when it comes to Clinton. Even a Bush daughter recognizes that she has what it takes to be the President of the United States.
Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, wants Hillary Clinton to run for president.
Oooh, THAT is going to make some of the rank and file of the party upset.
...and then they took their jacks and marbles and went home.
ReplyDeleteThey lost their marbles. It's obvious.
DeleteLove the comment and the response!
DeleteI suppose they THINK all the Fox viewers will tune in to watch their "debates" where moderators ask incisive questions of the candidates, such as: "Okay...boxers or tidy whities?"
ReplyDeleteBut I suspect the LAST thing that Clem Futtbuck from Dimwitt, Kansas, will sit and watch on TV is anything to do with politics.
Aren't these films supposed to run next year, not in 2016? The GOP is running scared. They have no record to run on, so they will, again, run a campaign of hate, fear, and division. And yeah, PLEASE take your debate nonsense off my TV screen. The less I hacve to see of your cabal of ignorant candidates, the healthier I will be. And since when does a poltiical party get to dictate what networks do? Who died and made you God, Reince? I thought you guys were all about the Constitution and freedom and rights and small government? Careful, or your big con will be obvious even to your southern base.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Those non-stop GOPmercials that we were forced to hear about over and over again while one clown after another fell off the clown car just about drove me crazy. It simply should not be allowed. If they want to appear all together, fine, but the melee should not be televised. Otherwise the DNC should be given EQUAL time to focus on whomever or whatever they choose.
DeleteBeaglemom
If ANY of the networks had any spine, they would hold debates at a time and place chosen by the candidates, and give all the candidates the option of whether or not to attend. over the years, it has gone beyond the point of absurdity, with the GOP and its handlers and candidates dictating the location of the debates, who can be the moderators, how tall the podiums must be, what kind of lighting and camera angles may and may not be used, what kind of questions can be asked, and who may or may not be in the audience. These are not debates, and have not been debates for decades. They are a joke, and were a joke, even before Priebus made them an even bigger joke. It is now up to the networks to put on their man pants and either schedule and run them as real debates, or get out of the business altogether.
DeleteUuuuummm, has Hil even declared that she will run? That is a whole lot of pearl clutching and howling going on over there at the GOP.
ReplyDeleteSupposed that it was that government that said that certain things could not be aired on TV. You would hear the outcry from Sarah Palin (and Bristol, the new political blogger), not to mention every other Republican. So, it looks like Reince is trying to take away our first amendment rights by telling two stations what they can air. No one asked that clown parade hard questions during the 2012 Republican debates. They were just a bunch of idiots that made the party look bad.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, and while you are at it. Check out Busy Bristol, who is now a political blogger, telling us that the NSA is spying on us. Then, what a coincidence, Sarah recommends an article that Bristol could not have possibly written.
“These programming decisions are an attempt to show political favoritism and put a thumb on the scales for the next presidential election,”
ReplyDeleteOkaayyy...isn't this the same party that wants Hannity, Limbaugh or Levin to moderate the debates so they'll be nice to the candidates?
But that's not favoritism?
I'm confused.
"And if they are NOT going to broadcast their debates on NBC and CNN then who is ever going to see them?"
ReplyDeleteThis may be the point, the clown circus they trotted out last time in full view of the nation did not serve them well.
Absolutely. They all looked so ridiculous in the debates last time, they will find any excuse to limit the audience for them this time. That is the winning strategy they are working on. They are fighting to control a message they don't have.
DeleteYes, this is just an attempt at damage control. It wouldn't surprise me if if they're busy trying to scrub their cringeworthy 2012 'debates' from the internet, that's the sort of creepy thing Republicans do.
DeleteStupid decision from (surprise!!) incredibly stupid people! I'd say the RNC has just now confirmed its place as the laughing-stock of the U.S. political world. Hilary and Bill must be high-fiving each other right now!
ReplyDeleteHosting and broadcasting are two different things.
ReplyDeleteJeesh! Are they THAT afraid of Hillary???
ReplyDeleteUmmm...that would be yes.
DeleteMan, this is getting funnier and funnier. They ARE afraid of Hillary. Why aren't Sarah's fans, who say that liberals are afraid of Sarah, showing "The Undefeated" on Fox to get even? Why doesn't Fox Entertainment buy Burnett's "Undefeated" and show it the same nights NBC and CNN show their Hillary documentary?
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! They won't. And that's because they know that little video shows a shallow absolutely self-absorbed grifter. Why aren't the C4P's and RNC ranting and raving that Fox display "The Undefeated" for their queen to get back in the race? If they believe Sarah is smarter than Hillary, then they shouldn't have anything to worry about, then, should they.
And then another channel airs "Sarah Palin: You Betcha!" HBO replays "Game Change."
DeleteHahahahahaha!
"The Cycle" on MSNBC hired Abby Huntsman as a host.
ReplyDeleteSarah is pissed they did not hire Bristol.
BWAHAHAHA, neither Bristol Palin nor Sarah Palin are as Talented or educated as Abby Huntsman. Abby does not speak 'word salad'.
DeleteAbby is still a repug and says some crazy stuff.
DeleteIt's like an after-school fight you avoid because you're going to get your ass kicked.....yeah like that...
ReplyDeleteHillary and Bill on a yacht, taking it all in, watching the RNC clowns trying to plug the uncontrollable leaking GOP dike, as they clink their beer glasses together. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if their party wasn't filled with such backwards and greedy morons they wouldn't have to worry so much.. Crazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you see Sarah's latest very disgusting tweet. More divisiveness. If you don't agree with her, you are now NOT peo-American. fuck her and Bristol. And who on earth would believe Bristol wrote any of it or has opinions worth discussing on the state of America. fuck them, really..
Damn spellcheck !! I meant prp-American
DeleteIt's very odd how they use Bristols blog...
With all the trillions of dollars available through right-wingnuts, surely there should be "documentaries" in the works on Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and all the others who are just hoping to be able to grasp the brass ring.
ReplyDeleteFire up those producers now, then show these films back to back, one week after another, then start all over again from now until the Convention. Fox= fixed, all the time.
They should be able to down out two wittle Hillary films in a month. Heck, you've already go "The Undefeated" ready to air. Just stop paying Palin and you can show it.
Presto! GOP problem solved!
btw == those pix of Trig and Tripp were taken NOT on the Lake Powell excursion, but week earlier, it will come as no surprise to readers here.
I wrote to NBC & CNN suggesting they not cover the RNC primary clown shows.
ReplyDeleteIf the RNC doesn't want legitimate news stations in their "debates", then they aren't newsworthy enough to be covered.
Seriously.
They don't tell you anything meaningful anyway; and much of what they do tell you has to be clarified later by a staff member.
Free speech is great, unless you say something they don't like.
ReplyDeleteAm I hearing the Republicans demanding a return of
ReplyDeleteThe Fairness Doctrine?
...what will that mean for Fox News and right-wing radio?
"Hoist on their own petard" as it were, eh?
And NBC and CNN are laughing. Like this is some sort of punishment?
ReplyDeleteIt's like Brer Rabbit begging Brer Fox not to throw him in the briar patch.
No one cares if they can't air the RNC debates. In fact, they're probably relieved they don't have to .
No one cares anyway. We only care about the presidential debates with the final two candidates.
"Who's going to see them?"
ReplyDeleteI think that's their plan. Their problem last election cycle was that *too many* people saw the crazy needed to win the primary.
Since they know they can't change their base, and the result of any primary will be toxic in the November election if they can't pretend their crazy didn't happen....
They have to limit the debates to their base, and not the general electorate.
And this is a brilliant way to do that...
