2nd Amendment advocates are planning to advertise their shortcomings by simultaneously standing on their lawns with their weapons exposed.

"Take a long look ladies. You know you want this!"
Courtesy of the Eagle Tribune:

Guns are coming out in the neighborhood.

An unusual national demonstration is slated this fall to highlight gun owner rights and the people behind them.

Gun Rights Across America issued the public call to arms this way: “We want you to strap on a holstered handgun to your hip, and give one hour of your day to make our presence as law-abiding gun owners known.”

Differing gun laws mean the “Guns Next Door” demonstration will take different forms in each state.

The gun rights group is researching gun laws, so participants will act responsibly within state laws.

“This is a rally with a twist,” said Eric Reed, Gun Rights Across America founder and the man behind the pro-gun rally.

People won’t go to a rally, instead the rally will come to them.

“People will see armed Americans outside their homes with signs everywhere they look,” Reed said.

The gun owners also will have flags and wear T-shirts promoting gun rights, organizers said.

The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 19, with hour-long sessions staggered by time zone so Americans participate simultaneously.

So to be clear these idiots are planning to stand on their lawns, with guns strapped to their hips, and signs posted so that everybody knows where to point and laugh. Sounds like a plan.

Though apparently in some states it will look even more pathetic than that:

Californians will wear empty holsters because that state’s laws are so strict.

Well good now their holsters will match their heads and their pants.

And just in case you did not think this was disturbing enough, they also plan to involve your children.

The group is working on educational pamphlets in advance of the event. Reed said some gun owners may pass out candy to neighbor kids.

“This is a chance to show people gun owners are not bad people,” he said.

Oh yeah that should help, after all it is not like anybody has taught their children to be suspicious of strangers handing our free candy or anything.

Here is what I am going to do if I see one these sad excuses for a man standing outside in my neighborhood. I am going to take their picture and post it on my Facebook page with the caption, "Just found the guy with the smallest penis in my neighborhood."

Personally I think that if everybody across the country did that we would certainly never be subjected to a second "Guns Next Door" demonstration now would we?

I'd say there will probably be about four or five hundred accidental shootings on October 15th. Hopefully it won't be any innocent bystanders.

Probably a good idea. Then we know which neighbor to avoid like the plague. I've always thought that instead of toting "concealed" weapons, these gunslingers should have to wear their bullet-less guns publicly padlocked into day-glow holsters so that the rest of us could see just how dumb they are. After all, they have no intention of shooting us; they behave like tantrum-inclined little boys just want their 2d Amendment rights and they want them right now.

Beaglemom, I'm with you. This way I'll know which of my neighbors is the most scary - the one(s) with the biggest, baddest weaponry around - and the tiniest minds. Sort of a reverse "Night Out Against Crime" eh? I'm sure the cops would like to know who has a gun in the neighborhood also, too. It definitely would help their job!

Well, at least we'll know which houses to stay far away from, which neighborhoods NOT to buy a home in, and which 'neighbors' are likely to die from gunshots. I may go around and write down house numbers. Not sure this will even catch on in my town, although we do have a KKK member who likes to put on his costume and stand at major intersections now and then. Just because. Are gun owners really this insecure and stupid? You know what else occurs to me? Anyone who wants to steal a weapon will now have a lovely road map of homes to break into. Yeah, good one.

There is going to be more gun conflict in our cities and I'll wager it's not too far off - for many varied reasons! Call the cops on these guys and the KKK members should they appear in their garb in your neighborhoods.

      What jerks!

  5. What these morons can't get through their thick, empty skulls is that no, they are not "mak[ing] our presence as law-abiding gun owners" known.

Prance around in your yard with your gun all you want. I have no way of knowing if you are law-abiding. I have no way of knowing if you are an abusive asshole. I have no way of knowing if you are one of the "responsible" gun owners we keep hearing about. You know, the ones who leave unlocked, loaded guns around where kids can get them, or who believe it is okay to shoot people that you are afraid of.

The rest of us have rights too. Including the right to life and liberty.

I also have the right to live in peace in my own home without worrying that I'm going to get shot by a stray bullet coming through a wall, window or across my lawn.

They forget that their bullets don't respect property lines.

Responsible gun owners are just that...until they're not. Every person who has shot another had a point in their life BEFORE they pulled the trigger for the first time.

Just call the cops on any of them. Tell the cops you feel threatened by some gun-carrying menacing guy, and you don't know what he/she is doing, but it looks like that person is trying to break into a home, or kill someone...

When I got to the end of your post, Gryphen, I laughed out loud. As I was reading, the phrase "Small Penis Brigade" kept running through my head. Yeah, that's a natural.

I say take their pictures and their addresses. Most probably aren't supposed to own a gun anyway. No felon is supposed to own a gun. I'm sure all states are different. At least we will know where we can't send any child to play or stay at.

Take photos - publish their city and location - put on Facebook. I wonder how many of them will be proven to be convicts? That will be easy to determine after they are 'published'! Plus, their employers are NOT going to like seeing them on Facebook/internet in this manner. Perhaps it will get them fired, which in my eyes would be well deserved.

46 year-old white Texas man shoots 8 year-old black kid in the face while he’s playing

Donald Maiden Jr. just celebrated his 8th birthday and now he’s in the hospital in critical condition after a 46 year-old Dallas, Texas man shot him in the face.

Brian Cloninger was charged with injury to a child and remains in the Dallas County jail on a $2.2 million bond.

Witnesses say they asked him, after seeing him standing around his truck as the boy was bleeding, if he shot the boy. “Yes I shot that kid,” Cloninger reportedly said.

Do you think someone might remind them that pedophiles give candy to children, also?

The way to show you are a responsible gun owner is *not* by prancing around waving it about like an extension of your winkie.

On the other hand, that would get them added to the sexual offenders list and we would always know where they were. AND they would have all kind of restrictions about where they could work and live, as well as legally keeping them away from children.

Weren't these the same people who bitched about NY Times publishing locations of gun owners' homes? Now they're doing the same thing: "LOOK AT ME! I GOT A GUN! THIS IS MY HOUSE!"

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anonymous11:25 AM

Thankfully for these little dicks, I will be out of the country that day. Otherwise, the cops would have their hands full responding to my calls about me feeling threatened by some gun-toting idjit down the street.

So, since I am out of the country, I hope that the rest of you will do just that: CALL THE COPS ON THEM, stating you feel threatened. Like that, at the least they will get a misdemeanor charge filed against them. :D

If I see anyone in my neighborhood doing this, I will call the cops! It's going to create a huge problem w/police forces across the nation. Bet they pick and chose which neighborhood to respond/ investigate. Remember, the cops in many cities are just as bad as these guys demonstrating their wares.

    Pitiful bunch!

If these guys were anything other than white, can you imagine how fast the cops would be called? And can you imagine how many people would end up shot as a result?
Can't stand these bozos and their gun-waving. A real man doesn't need a gun to feel safe.

They're going to run into a few glitches. If they rent an apartment, the owner has the absolute right to not allow it. Same goes for Condominiums because the "common areas" belong to the condo association and the condo owners own a part of the whole property.

I can't wait for these doofuses to voluntarily out themselves #teenieweeniebrigade, they deserve a facbook page of their own with submitted photos of them being ridiculed.

As much as I love the idea that sensible people have a good excuse to call the police and report these idiots, I have tremendous sympathy for the officers who will then have to deal with them.

Being a law enforcement officer is an inherently dangerous job but this weapon flaunting just adds to the potential for violence.
