Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Rene Descartes predicted the Tea Party takeover of the Republican party all the way back in the 16th Century.
The baggers were out trolling badly last night on twitter.
Many peeps said how horrible and awful they are not to mention "too stupid to spell"! All of their twitter accounts have god, guns and the flag on them...and all say FREEDUM! (freedom) They are the great unschooled hillbillies thanks to GWB!!!! Defending Freedumworks? Defending Con$ervative moveMent? Whenever I hear the words "common sense" I know they are uttered by a idiot...b/c there is no common sense anymore....well there is "Common" as in "dumbsense" dumb enough to swallow the RW pap that is spewed at & by them. Darwins special! Lets nominate the Baggers for the Darwin Award!!! Lets Nominate Sarah Palin for the Queen of the Darwin Awards!
"Common" as in "dumbsense" - I agree. This is a statement worthy of Descartes himself. :)
Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have.
I think Uncle Gryphen's focus is on the quote and its approximate relativity to the Koch Brothers/Republican's nutty scheme to use the Tea Baggers' cause to dismantle Obama's second term administration attempt. Instead, they got the exact opposite -- the dismantling of the Republican Party....moreso, the complete exposure of their ignorance, hatred and fear of trying to control their inevitable destiny of becoming a minority in the United States.
First, that is not Descartes. It looks like Voltaire.
ReplyDeleteSecond, "Do not believe everything you read on the Internet." Abraham Lincoln.
I think Bob Dylan said that. Aye
DeleteOf course, silly me. :D

ReplyDeleteSo Franz Hals looked at Décartes and thought, hell I'm going to paint another fellow and pass him off as René?

In case the link to Hal's portrait of Décartes is missing a "c", here it is again.

Sorry, 5:15. I agree with Ailsa. Google both and you'll see what she and I mean.
