New, super flattering, magazine cover featuring Hillary Clinton.

Now I know what you are thinking, "Holy crap! Hillary has transformed into Gaia the Greek mother goddess, who created and protects the earth. Well of course I have to vote for her in 2016 now!"

Or perhaps your take was that the creators of this cover could not find an unflattering enough image of Hillary Clinton, so they made their own.

In fact it is supposedly an attempt to portray Hillary as an extremely powerful figure who has a number of talented political advisers and supporters trapped in her orbit. Or something like that.

Here is the article itself, which contains a hint as to what inspired such a hideous magazine cover:

Sitting at a New York coffee shop one afternoon, a person close to the Clintons, whom Nickilippe had not authorized to talk, pulled out a felt-tip pen and drew a triangle and a circle on a white cocktail napkin. The triangle, this person said, represented Obama’s team, with the president on the top and everyone else clearly in their hierarchical place. The circle represented the Clintons, with everyone in a vortex angling for the innermost rings. Over the years, this amorphous setup has led to a fair amount of resentment and infighting.

Now do you get it?

It is really not that the article is completely unflattering, it's not. However it seems to have a rather pessimistic view of what her campaign will look like, and whether to not she can keep so many powerful egos from clashing while she, and Bill, decide who gets closer and who gets pushed further out into orbit.

But seriously, that cover?

....Mitt won’t let it go. He lost, and the election wasn’t even close. Contrary to Republican mythology, Romney never led. The polls weren’t skewed, and the GOP never had a chance of defeating President Obama in 2012. Obamacare wouldn’t have saved them. Benghazi wasn’t their path to victory, and neither was the IRS “scandal.”

Mitt Romney was one of the worst nominees in modern presidential campaign history. At a time of historic income inequality, he was a Wall Street/Big Business villain straight out of central casting. Romney was secretive, vague, and a compulsive liar on the campaign trail. He is a man who was clearly never meant to be president. This obvious fact is understood by everyone not named Mitt Romney.

Romney is quickly inching into that Sarah Palin territory, where he just needs pack up his bitter sideshow and get off our televisions. The campaign’s over. You lost, Mitt. Please take your binder full of excuses and go away.

The hate from the Right directed the former First Lady's way will make the invective hurled at President Obama look like child's play. Let them vent. Let them rage. In other words, let them expose themselves for the petty thugs they truly are.

That cover reminded me of something......then I found it! http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130713004035/oz/images/1/1a/Wizard-of-oz_hologram.jpg

Do you think that was the look they were going for?
Except for the part where Hillary Clinton is real!
    Go Hillary 2016.

  5. I think all the anti-woman ugliness coming from Repubs is preparation for Hillary in 2016. The same way they beat the drums to rally the anti-Obama bigots, they are also beating their hairy chests to gather the anti-Hillary misogynists. Setting the stage, inviting their selected audience, like trailers, previews of the coming event.

Don't kid yourself, this is about controlling ALL women and it had been going on for a long time, they have just gotten nastier. I would not be surprised one bit if they try and take our right to vote away.

I expect better from the NYT, but it's telling that it's over three years away, and the stars are already aligning for a Hillary Clinton candidacy, and the GOP has zip, zero, nada, goose eggs and bullshit.
