Well, when you've got 'rocket scientists' like THIS making laws, there seems to be no end is sight for the idiocy to stop:
43 House Republicans Want to Sue Barack Obama For Being President
...House Republicans are trying to sue the president for exercising his constitutionally granted powers. This is another attempt to delegitimize this president. Republicans are upset that the president is working around their obstruction, so they are taking him to court to try to get him to stop behaving like a president.
This is a desperate tactic from a party with no positive agenda. As their campaign of obstruction is melting away, House Republicans are hoping that courts will tell the president to stop being presidential.
Mark this gambit down as another election year stunt that House Republicans are using to attack and delegitimize the presidency of Barack Obama.
A Presidents’ Day Examination Of the Monumental Hurdles that President Obama Has Overcome
...Of all of Barack Obama’s qualities, it is remarkable that despite the vitriol, obstruction, personal attacks, racial animus, and sheer hatred conservatives blatantly express in public in mainstream media, this President maintains dignity and grace a slightly lesser human being would be loath to tolerate. No president has had their loyalty to America called into question, or faced blatant calls for assassination, lynching, or violent rebellion because Republicans promoted the idea this President is “not one of us real (read white) Americans,” “needs to learn to be American,” or “sympathizes and supports” the nation’s enemies.
This country’s most dangerous enemies are Republicans and their dark money supporters, and yet President Obama resists responding to their hateful attacks meant to whip white-trash racists into a killing frenzy. Through it all, President Obama has kept his focus on doing everything within his constitutional limitations to help the nation and all its citizens in the face of Republican opposition and obstruction. Fortunately for this country, the majority of Americans comprehended that this President is indeed working for all Americans or they would not have re-elected him to continue the difficult job of working against recalcitrant Republicans whose sole purpose is sabotaging the economy to portray the President as a failure.
fyi -- Gryphen, maybe you've covered this before: some evangelical pastor, Jeff Dixon, has written and talked about those who believe in a "vagrant" Bible, using other resources in their lives, and those who adhere to a "vibrant" Bible that explains everything -- no looking past the Bible for any information or guidance. Maybe I'm late to all of this -- clearly Palin's continual use of "vibrant" is a dog whistle to all the thumpers out there who are driving these anti-science, anti-intellectual juggernauts. I gather this Dixon person and many like him use that "vibrant" code word to let each other know they're part of the same christianist cult. (In reality, they use mostly the Old Testament for their vibrant fire and brimstone dictats.) If you have the time, Gryphen, I'd be very grateful to know what you might uncover about this sect, and where Sarah stands among them. Beyond her bots, who is she reaching from her facebook pulpit?
The cartoon is perfect! I care less about leaving federal debt for my children and grandchildren to pay and more about leaving them a habitable earth. I wonder how much money one would need and where they'd have to live to comfortably survive unmitigated climate change.
