Are super religious people actually super nerds?

I know this is supposed to be  joke, but you know it does make a certain kind of sense.

And that would also explain why Fundamentalists are always so bent out of shape about Sci-fi programs, video games, Harry Potter, and Dungeons and Dragons.

All of them attract their own rabid following of nerds and that threatens the uber-Christians who don't appreciate the competition.

  1. In my experience, fundamentalists don’t fit into general society well, and neither do nerds, but I think that’s all they have in common. Fundamentalists are almost always devoid of creativity, and nerds are sometimes creative. I just think they’re both outliers to what is normal, with no real link.

They are Pavlovian. They do not think. They are programmed by those they consider authorities. Palin's folks (and many other hucksters) tap into that large lake of stupidity. Palin is stupid and ignorant, but there are folks dumber.

Disagree, nerds are usually mind their own business types. Fundies are nosey assholes.
