Man walks around children's baseball game scaring children with his gun, and it's all completely legal.

Courtesy of WSBTV:

Parents at a Forysth County park abruptly stopped a children's baseball game after growing suspicions of the behavior of a man carrying a gun in a waist holster Tuesday night.

"He's just walking around [saying] 'See my gun? Look, I got a gun and there's nothing you can do about it.' He knew he was frightening people. He knew exactly what he was doing," said parent Karen Rabb.

Rabb told Channel 2’s Tom Regan the parents grew so alarmed that they brought the game to a halt when the man declined a request that he leave a parking lot overlooking the baseball field.

“He scared people to the point where we stopped the game, took the kids out of the dugout and behind the dugout, and kind of hunkered down,” Rabb said.

Park users flooded 911 with 22 calls about the man. Forysth County deputies questioned the man, and found that he had a permit for the handgun. Authorities said since the man made no verbal threats or gestures, they could neither arrest him nor ask him to leave the park.

Another parent questioned what point the man was trying to prove.

"Why would anyone be walking around a public park, with a lot of children and parents and people here playing baseball, and he's walking around with a gun? I don't think the parents would have been nervous had he just had the gun in his holster and was just watching the game," said parent Paris Horton.

Why would anybody be walking around a crowded baseball field and frightening people by openly carrying a gun?

Because he can. And if the NRA gets their way, there will be a whole lot more of this kid of incident too.

Welcome to the America, where gun rights take precedent over a child's right to feel safe while playing baseball.

    1. The guy was wrong, but the media is wrong, too. If they believe what he did was wrong, as I do, they ned to tell the truth. Police report that this man spoke to no one. Rabb was lying. He never said a word to anyone. He also was not in the ballpark, he was in the lot. Reports do say that, but "in the ballpark" is the general idea, even though most parks have more than a ballpark. This is more of a case of anti-gun hysteria than an idiot exercising his open, carry rights irresponsibly.

The Mainstream Media Finally Abandons Sarah Palin and Declares Her Over

The mainstream media is finally realizing that it is time to ignore Sarah Palin.

Robert Costa of The Washington Post reported on Palin’s decline:

'Four years after using her unique position to propel a number of conservatives — many previously unknown and not favored by party leaders — in the tea party wave of 2010, Palin is today a diminished figure in the Republican Party. Even as she travels to Iowa and elsewhere to bolster her handpicked candidates, her influence in these midterm elections has been eclipsed by a new class of stars and her circle has narrowed, with a handful of aides guiding her and a few allies in Washington beyond a group of backbench troublemakers in Congress.

When Palin took the stage at the Hy-Vee Conference Center under a banner that read “Heels On, Gloves Off” on Sunday at an event for Senate candidate Joni Ernst, the ballroom was half-full, with a couple hundred attendees scattered in clumps. Three people held signs and, while Palin was received warmly, only about 50 people stayed after to shake her hand on the rope line as Shania Twain’s “She’s Not Just a Pretty Face” blared from the speakers.

Craig Robinson, a former political director for the Iowa GOP, said that it was Palin’s smallest in-state crowd ever. Organizers blamed the heavy rainfall.'

To put it another way, the media has finally caught on to the myth of Sarah Palin. Sister Sarah has been surviving for years on the idea that she is a conservative star, but the reality is that people were tired of her during the 2008 campaign. Palin has seen her fanbase narrow for years. She isn’t active in politics. She doesn’t donate enough of the money that she raises to candidates, and she has no future political prospects of her own.

For years, the media has happily pretended that Sarah Palin was a star, and a rival to President Obama. Palin was always the novelty that Republicans claim President Obama to be. Palin has taken to making radical statements to get media attention. Her latest is that if she were in charge she would baptize terrorists through waterboarding.

Palin will always have her fans, but even they realize that there is no future in supporting Sarah. There is no Senate campaign, or a presidential run coming. Palin is still living off of those few months in 2008, when she was a national political somebody.

Sarah Palin is the one hit wonder who started out playing arenas, then moved down to the clubs, then moved further down to the county fair circuit. When you stop drawing a crowd on the county fair circuit, it’s over.

The media is finally catching on that it is time to ignore Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin soldiers on as a diminished figure in the Republican Party

...Aside from Crawford, Palin is advised daily by a tightknit group led by Jason Recher, who lives in New Orleans but shadows her on political trips, and Doug McMarlin, who, as with Recher, worked in the George W. Bush administration. Both have been in Palin’s sphere since she was on the Republican ticket. Rebecca Mansour, an erstwhile screenwriter, assists Palin with research and speechwriting.

Protecting the Palin brand remains a paramount concern. Eric Welch, a music-video producer, and former White House photographer Shealeah Craighead have become her exclusive image-makers. Palin’s aides often advise campaigns they are working with that the pair are the only camera-toters who will be granted backstage access.

What?! No person in charge of costumes for the waterboardin' baptizer? That explains the Walmart clothing when everyone else is dressed in casual professional. It also looks like Clueless Sarah has pulled the wig down to try to conceal the major receding hairline and downy fuz for hair.

Gee, when was the last time Johnny boy hosted ol' Sarah? Look what he's busy with now:

John McCain to host Hillary Clinton in Sedona, Arizona

...Clinton, a prospective 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, will appear on stage Saturday with McCain at the Sedona Forum, an annual ideas festival hosted by the McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University. Clinton is among the national and international business leaders, philanthropists and public figures appearing at the gathering, held in Sedona, the tony red-rocks oasis in Arizona's Verde Valley.

In a statement released Thursday, McCain called Clinton "my friend" and praised her public service career.

Hey Gryphen! Remember that guy that was at the back of the room at the meager showing for Sarah this weekend? The reporter that tweeted the nearly empty room where Todd walked up to him? Well he's written a great article about Sarah's decline and these are some of the comments on the article (which is linked below)

This commenter really does nail it, don't they?

'Has anyone ever noticed the massive number of Palin photos which show her face twisted into sneers and other mean and ugly visages including even the picture accompanying this article? For a beautiful woman which I acknowledge she is, although I'm on the opposite side of the political spectrum, it's quite clear she's possessed of an inordinate amount of hatred and bitterness which shows like a map on her face. This is not a nice woman. This is not a good woman. This is someone who never learned to disagree without being disagreeable and although that's common currency these days, still, is there anyone else with so high a profile that appears so hate-filled so often? I'll answer that question for myself with a resounding "NO"! '

'She appears to be shallow and very thin skinned with a real propensity towards bitterness. I think some tough times lay ahead for Klondike Barbie.'

'Her image sags as her face and body does.
Push-up underwear can't push up her the reality of her political image.'

'What's an unelectable, but still fecund, grandma of the tea-party movement to do?'

' Of course she has slipped behind a new class of stars. First of all, Sarah skipped class for two years by quitting her job as governor. Second, after she blazed a trail for the new stars, a trail based on ignorance and lunacy, and the party rewarded her ignorance and lunacy, it was inevitable that she would be surpassed by candidates who were even more ignorant and even more lunatic. That's the way the world works.

Signed Former Republican who refuses to support ignorance and lunacy'

'What has she truly accomplished other than forever putting John McCain's judgment into question, quitting as governor of Alaska, stirring up partisan divisiveness, and riding a media blitz that's all about her? I guess even the faithful have run out of patience by now.'

'Use whatever metaphor works: her fifteen minutes is up, her shelf life is overdue, or the empress has no clothes, but Palinism is over and will continue to fade. Palin's combination of abject ignorance, stridency, and naked self-aggrandizement was never pretty and now it has just gone stale - even among the True Believers.'

Her obtuseness knows no bounds. What a fucking idiot!

NBC News’ Kasie Hunt caught up with Palin at campaign stop for candidate Joni Ernst (a-HEM) Sunday evening (featuring “one of the smaller crowds” Palin has drawn in Iowa, Hunt noted) and asked if she thought she would make the remark again.

“Would I make it again?” Palin said. “Why wouldn’t I, yeah, absolutely. Terrorists who want to annihilate Americans, innocent Americans, our children — whatever it takes to stop them. If I were in charge, I’d be stoppin’ em.”

Whether he had a permit or not, I think the police should have escorted him away from the baseball game. Anyone looney enough to wear a gun holster like that where children are playing sports should not be allowed to be around people. If he was not a parent or personal friend of anyone participating in the game, he should not have been there. And he certainly should not have been carrying a weapon. What possible intention could he have had except to provoke attention and concern on the part of parents and players alike. The man is a perfect example of why serious gun control is needed in this country. Would Sarah Palin cheer him on if he were parading around the basketball court while her daughter's team was playing?

Why do we decide such behavior is appropriate in any fashion? Why do we let the gun lobby bully us? Sarah Palin’s bizarre gun belt get up is equally as disgusting. She is an attention-demanding whore who worships money.

These are the kind of gun nuts who are just hoping that the police come and arrest them. They'll get lots of media coverage to stroke their egos and have the full power of the NRA behind them when they sue the police for harassment.

Which makes them exactly the kind of stupid, narcissistic, volatile, unpredictable lunatic who should NOT have a gun in the first place.

  18. This guy was irresponsible in exercising his open/crry rights (an idiot, to be more precise)jj, but the anti-gun media is worse. First, even though the report actually says he is in a lot, it i being portrayed as if he was in the ballpark. No one could see the man in the lot. Second, Rabb lied. she told media that this guy said things like, "See my gun? You can't do anything about it". Actually, police said he spoke to no one. Rabb only meant his actions were to the effect of those words, yet the media is portraying it as if he actually vocalized teh words. Third, the interview with the drama queen, Rabb, crying and sobbing the day after convinces me 100% that she is full of shit.
He was wrong, but the media was way overboard. Those are two separate issues, and this entire story is more one about anti-gun hysteria than about one irresponsible man walking around with a gun on his hip talking to no one.

  23. Permissive open carry states
A state has passed full preemption of all firearms laws. They do not prohibit open carry for all non-prohibited citizens and do not require a permit or license to open carry. Open carry is lawful on foot and in a motor vehicle. It must be noted that while open carry may be legal in such jurisdictions per se, persons openly carrying firearms may be detained and cited by law enforcement officials for disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace in certain locations and circumstances where openly carrying could cause public alarm.
